Chapter 15: Andreas
Aether then looked at Razer. "Hey Razer I thought this area was protected by on the four winds, the wolf um what was it's name again".
Razor, still catching his breath from the fight, turned to Aether with a curious look. "The wolf's name is Andrius, Lord of the North. He is one of the Four Winds and is responsible for guarding Mondstadt's northern regions."
Aether nodded, considering Razor's words. "I was under the impression that the Four Winds would ensure this area was protected. How come there are Rifthounds here?"
Razor's expression grew serious. "Andrius is powerful, but even the Four Winds can't be everywhere at once. Rifthounds have appeared in places they shouldn't, and their presence is a sign that something is amiss. There might be a disturbance or a breach somewhere."
Aether's eyes narrowed. "A disturbance? Any idea where it might be coming from?"
Razor shook his head. "I can sense the disturbances, but pinpointing the exact location is challenging. We'll need to investigate further to uncover what's causing these breaches."
Aether and Razor made their way through the forest, the aftermath of their battle with the Rifthounds still echoing in the air. Razor led the way, using his keen senses to track any signs of the disturbance. Aether followed closely, his mind racing with thoughts about the sudden appearance of these dangerous creatures and what it could mean for Mondstadt.
As they ventured deeper into the forest, the underbrush became thicker and the shadows darker. Razor paused, sniffing the air and listening intently. "We're getting close. I can feel the disturbance growing stronger."
Aether scanned the surroundings, his instincts alert. "Any idea what kind of disturbance we're dealing with?"
Razor shook his head. "It's hard to say. It could be a tear in the fabric of the world, or something more sinister. We'll need to be careful."
Suddenly, a loud roar echoed through the forest, shaking the trees and causing Aether and Razor to tense. "That didn't sound like any Rifthound I've heard," Aether said, drawing Albion from its sheath.
Razor nodded, his expression grim. "That roar came from deeper in the forest. It's not just a simple disturbance; it's something powerful."
The two continued forward, their path illuminated by the flickering light of Aether's vision. As they approached the source of the roar, they found themselves in a clearing. In the center stood a massive, shadowy figure, its form constantly shifting and writhing. It was unlike anything they had seen before—an amalgamation of dark energy and monstrous features.
"This must be the source of the disturbance," Razor said, his voice filled with determination. "We need to take it down before it causes more harm."
Aether nodded, his gaze fixed on the creature. "Let's do this."
Razor charged forward, his Claymore swinging with deadly precision. The creature roared in response, unleashing a wave of dark energy that crashed against Razor's shield. Aether followed close behind, using his Anemo and Geo magecraft to create a whirlwind of wind and earth that battered the creature from all sides.
The battle was fierce and relentless. The creature's attacks were powerful, and it seemed to adapt to their strategies, making each strike more dangerous. Aether and Razor worked in perfect harmony, their combined efforts pushing the creature back.
At one point, Aether noticed the creature's core—a pulsating orb of dark energy embedded within its body. "Razor, focus on the core! That's where the source of its power is!"
Razor nodded, redoubling his efforts. With a powerful swing of his Claymore, he struck the core, causing it to crack and emit a blinding light. Aether used this opportunity to unleash a concentrated blast of his magecraft, shattering the core and dispersing the dark energy.
The creature let out a final, deafening roar before collapsing into a swirling vortex of darkness that quickly dissipated. The forest fell silent, the oppressive atmosphere lifting as the disturbance was quelled.
Aether and Razor stood amidst the aftermath, both panting from the intense battle. "That was intense," Aether said, wiping sweat from his brow. "Do you have any idea what that thing was?"
Razor shook his head. "I've never seen anything like it. But whatever it was, it's clear that there's something wrong in Mondstadt. This disturbance is just the beginning."
Aether looked around the now-quiet clearing. "We need to report this to the Knights of Favonius. They need to know what's happening and be prepared for more disturbances."
Razor nodded in agreement. "Agreed. Let's head back to Mondstadt and inform them. We'll need all the help we can get."
As they made their way back, Aether couldn't shake the feeling that the battle they had just fought was only a small part of a much larger conflict. The appearance of the Rifthounds and the powerful creature they had faced were signs of a greater threat looming over Mondstadt. He knew that the coming days would be crucial in uncovering the truth and protecting the city he had come to care for so deeply.
Back at the Knights of Favonius headquarters, Aether and Razor relayed their findings to Jean, Kaeya, Amber, and the rest of the team. The room was filled with tension as they discussed the implications of the disturbance and the need for immediate action.
Jean, her expression serious, addressed the group. "We'll need to increase our vigilance and prepare for any potential threats. We can't afford to let our guard down."
Amber, her usual cheerfulness replaced by concern, nodded. "We should also send out patrols to monitor the surrounding areas. If there are more disturbances, we need to be ready."
Kaeya, always calm and collected, added, "I'll gather information on any recent sightings or reports of strange activity. We need to piece together what's happening."
As the team sprang into action, Aether and Razor exchanged a determined glance. They knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but they were ready to face whatever threats came their way. The safety of Mondstadt depended on their courage and resolve, and they were prepared to fight for it.
Aether then looker at Razer. "Hey Razer can you take me to the wolf".
Razer looked at Aether. "Yes Razer can take you too Andrius, but why".
Aether just looked at him. "I just want to talk to The wolf".
Razer nodes as they walked to a the were Andrius was as they arrived in a place that looked like a stadium that had sunked to the ground, aether then looked at the middle was there was spirit Claymore as he tapped on it as he did the wind picked up and the sky darken, with that of snow falling as well as then there it was Andrius.
Andrius looked at Razer and Aether. "Razer what brings you here".
Razer looked at Andrius before he spoke. "Father I wanna ask, why aren't you protecting Mondstandt anymore like you used too"
Andrius just looked at Razer. "I see you figured, how did you, then i will give you my answer"
Andrius, the great wolf of the North, towered over Aether and Razor, his form partially obscured by the swirling snow and darkness that surrounded him. His eyes, glowing with an ethereal light, settled on Aether with a mixture of curiosity and caution.
Aether took a deep breath, his gaze steady. "I came here to understand why you've stopped protecting Mondstadt. I've seen the disturbance in the forest, and it's clear something is wrong. I need to know if it's connected to your absence."
Andrius regarded Aether thoughtfully, his massive frame shifting as he settled onto his haunches. The wind howled around them, carrying the chill of the northern mountains. "Long ago, I swore to protect Mondstadt and its people. But there are forces at work beyond the grasp of even my power."
Razor, standing by Aether's side, spoke up. "Father, what do you mean? Why have you abandoned your duty?"
Andrius's eyes darkened, reflecting a deep sorrow. "It is not that I have abandoned my duty. Rather, I have been bound by circumstances beyond my control. A powerful entity has risen, one that disturbs the balance of our world. Its influence has corrupted the lands and disrupted the natural order. My power alone is not enough to confront it."
Aether stepped forward, his voice filled with resolve. "If there's a threat to Mondstadt, we need to act. How can we help you? What can we do to restore the balance and protect the city?"
Andrius studied Aether for a moment, sensing the determination in his voice. "To confront this entity, you will need to gather the support of the elements and the strength of your allies. The entity feeds on chaos and despair, seeking to plunge the world into darkness. You must seek out the elemental spirits and uncover the truth behind this corruption."
Aether nodded, absorbing the gravity of Andrius's words. "We'll gather the elemental spirits and do whatever it takes to stop this threat. Is there anything specific we should know or prepare for?"
Andrius's gaze softened slightly. "Be wary of the signs of corruption. They are not always apparent, but they will manifest in strange and dangerous ways. Trust in your allies and remain vigilant. The fate of Mondstadt may very well depend on your actions."
Aether then looker at Andrius. "But there is more isne't it, there is another reason why your not protecting this city, why you are not using all your powers".
Andrius just looked at him before he spoke. "I see that answer is the city is no longer for me to protect, they have failed the dragon, and they have failed me, the city is no longer what it was, the knight are shadow of them self, the grand master one task to be the phoenix has been gone for a long time, and the acting grand master can't do all, they even forgetten how there goods look, so I stopped".
Hearing this Aether was angry. "Go to hell with that, so you just decide to stop and let the rifthiund do as they want you one of the four fucking winds, what do you mean you just gave up"
Andrius just looked at him. "It is as it sounds I have given up on this city".
Aether just raised Albion. "Fine then I challenge you to a fight, if I win you have to protect Mondstandt for every".
For brif moment Andrius saw a spark, the same spark he did when he first meet Venti during the Archon war, as he just looked at Aether.
Andrius just looked at Aether. "It seems like your two much of a full. Andrius stoped not knowing what to call him before he spoke. 'Traveler' so let me a fight".
Aether then was ready to fight before he did he saw the system.
