Chapter 4: Chapter 4
In the morning, the sun rose from the east, awakening the sleeping Mondstadt.
Bang!
Hiroshi closed the door with a slam, turned around, and pulled the door handle back and forth to make sure it was locked, then walked down the stairs.
After adapting overnight, his body had fully adjusted to the changes in his attributes after leveling up.
He casually opened the chat group to check in and gained 5 points. Group check-ins could be done once a day, and each time it would give between 1-10 points. After greeting everyone in the group with a "Good morning," Hiroshi opened his attribute panel.

After leveling up last night, Hiroshi decided to head to the Adventurers' Guild to take on a new task, such as going outside the city to eliminate Hilichurls. Previously, due to the fear of injury or death, Hiroshi had always taken on residential tasks within Mondstadt to gain experience. Now that he had some self-defense capabilities, he decided to venture out.
Turning the corner of an alley, the bustling sounds of Mondstadt's main street reached his ears. Crowds of people in colorful attire were walking back and forth through the streets.
He headed straight for Good Hunter. Hiroshi greeted Sara, grabbed the breakfast she had prepared for him, and then went directly to the Adventurers' Guild.
Walking through the open door, the noise reached him. Adventurers carrying all kinds of weapons were gathered in small groups, discussing the tasks they were taking on today.
Unlike the Adventurers' Guild in the game, where despite being an organization spread across the continent, its office seemed like nothing more than a counter at a small shop outside an elementary school, the real Adventurers' Guild was housed in a three-story building. The first floor was where ordinary adventurers accepted tasks. The reception desk and the commission board were usually the most crowded areas. Newcomers generally came here to find companions and begin their journey of adventure. The second floor was for significant or designated commissions, and staff offices were also located there. The third floor was the staff residence area.
"You must be the traveler from another world. I am Fischl, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, from the Evernight realm. As a fellow traveler, I bestow upon you the honor of my companionship."
"Miss means she's pleased to meet you," Oz translated.
Hiroshi looked at the beautiful girl in a black dress, arguing with a talking raven, and smiled slightly, extending his right hand. "Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Hiroshi."
"Eh?"
Fischl looked at his outstretched hand, stunned for a moment before shaking his hand and then brushing her golden hair behind her ear.
"You should be honored by my generosity, to have the privilege of shaking hands with the Prinzessin der Verurteilung."
With that, she turned and left.
"Miss is just shy, so please don't mind her," Oz said as he landed on Hiroshi's shoulder. "Miss heard that a traveler from another world had arrived in Mondstadt and became very excited. She may talk in an unusual manner, but she's a kind-hearted person. I hope you don't dislike her."
"Oz!"
A voice called out, and Fischl, her ears red, yelled at Oz.
"Haha, Miss is calling me. I must go," Oz said.
Looking at Fischl in the distance, Hiroshi waved. "Fischl, I'm planning to venture outside Mondstadt for the first time later. May I invite you to join my party?"
"Ah!"
Fischl was startled by Hiroshi's invitation to team up, and after a moment, she coughed lightly. She extended her left hand forward, covered her right eye with her hand, her bright green eyes looking at Hiroshi as she struck a dramatically chuunibyou pose.
"Hmph, inviting me to accompany you on your journey to fulfill your dreams, is it? Very well, mark my words. I am Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, mistress of the Evernight realm, judge of all sins in this world, and seer of all truths. With my name, the Eye of Judgment will watch over you. And Oz, with his eyes that have witnessed the demise of a thousand worlds, will observe your path. Should the nocturnal beast of the world seek to devour your dreams, I shall smite it with the sacred arrows of judgment!"
Walking forward, Hiroshi took Fischl's extended left hand and smiled. "Thank you for joining me in this adventure."
"Oh, just leave it to me... ahem, with me, the Prinzessin der Verurteilung, at your side, your path will be unstoppable. So, what trials shall you face on today's journey? I'm looking forward to it, hehehe."
"I'm looking forward to it too. Please wait a moment, Fischl."
Walking to the beginner adventurer commission board, Hiroshi looked over the various tasks carefully. After some consideration, he decided on two missions, tore the commission slips off the board, and waved at Fischl before heading to the reception desk.
Once the person in front of him had finished their task registration, Hiroshi handed his commission slips to the clerk, who was busy making notes.
"Miss Katheryne, I'll be taking on these two tasks today. Thank you."
Katheryne took the slips and glanced at Hiroshi. After verifying the tasks, she registered them for him.
"Here you go. Your task will also be recorded on your adventurer's ID. Though these are just beginner-level commissions, you must not let your guard down. I hope you complete them safely. May the Anemo Archon bless you."
After thanking Katheryne, Hiroshi turned and walked back to Fischl, shaking the two commission slips in his hand.
"Fischl, I've taken the missions. These two just happen to be on the same route, so we can complete them together."
Taking the commission slips, Fischl reviewed them carefully before handing them back to Hiroshi. She called Oz to her side, adjusted her golden hair, and, carrying her bow adorned with golden patterns, took the lead and walked away.
In the morning light, Fischl's golden hair seemed to glimmer.
"Amy, you've just come back from a mission; shouldn't you at least go home to let your parents know?"
"Eh?!"
Fischl froze. She stood in the doorway, looking at the figure outside, her face slowly changing color.
Finally, the scene that appeared before Hiroshi was of Fischl, her face flushed red, dragging a middle-aged man away, leaving Hiroshi and Oz to look at each other silently.
"Ahem. Hiroshi, let's head to Mondstadt's main gate and wait for Miss there. She should return soon."
"Hiroshi, you seem to understand what Miss means when she talks, don't you?"
Patting Oz on his shoulder, Hiroshi walked towards the city gate.
"I can understand her meaning. After all, I used to be like that too. Even though I don't act that way anymore, deep down, I still yearn for it. So, seeing Fischl like this makes me quite happy."
Oz glanced at Hiroshi in surprise, not expecting that Hiroshi used to be like that as well.
"Oh! I didn't expect you to be like that before. You seem more like a well-educated scholar based on your demeanor."
Hiroshi smiled with a hint of pride, lifting his gaze towards the large gate ahead as if looking far into the distance.
"That's because I come from a strong and beautiful country where everyone receives nine years of compulsory education from childhood."
"Oh, there's a place like that? I'd love to see it with my own eyes."
Reaching out to stroke Oz's feathers, Hiroshi stood by the bridge, looking at his reflection in the water, lost in thought.
"I hope that someday, I'll be able to see that sight again."
