Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Boom!

With a deafening explosion, water splashed everywhere, mixed with fish scorched by the blast. The aroma of fish and a hint of burnt smell filled the air.

"Hahaha!"

Klee laughed happily, running with her short legs towards the nearest big fish, grabbing it tightly, and running back towards Hiroshi.

"Big brother, this is for you. The fish is really delicious."

Looking at Klee holding the big fish, Hiroshi reached out and patted her little head, smiling, "Thank you, Klee. I love fish too."

He reached out, preparing to take the fish from Klee's hands.

Klee handed the charred but aromatic fish to Hiroshi, then turned and ran excitedly towards another fish.

Bang!

A loud noise came as Klee turned her head in confusion, only to see Hiroshi lying on the ground with the fish in his arms. Curiously, she asked, "Big brother, what are you doing?"

Struggling to pull his hands out from under the fish, Hiroshi sat up, smiling awkwardly as he looked at Klee, who tilted her head in curiosity.

"It's nothing. I just wanted to put it down to eat."

"Oh, then hurry up and eat, big brother. Klee is going to eat the fish over there."

Watching Klee turn away, Hiroshi sighed in relief. He hadn't expected Klee to be so strong.

Seeing Klee squatting in front of another fish and starting to devour it, Hiroshi rubbed his stomach, which grumbled loudly.

Since crossing over in the morning until now, Hiroshi had only drunk a cup of bubble tea. Then he ran with Klee from the grassland to Starfell Lake, leaving him starving.

He reached out, tearing off the charred part of the big fish, revealing snow-white flesh underneath. The aroma wafted towards him, making him swallow his saliva. Hiroshi tore off a piece and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Mmm~"

Hiroshi let out a satisfied hum.

The fragrance of the fish, mixed with a hint of sweetness, spread in his mouth. Saliva kept flowing, and the feeling of fullness from his stomach made Hiroshi feel like his whole body craved more food.

Imitating Klee, Hiroshi squatted down, using both hands to devour the fish heartily.

When he came to his senses, Hiroshi found that he was already too full to eat any more. Stretching lazily, he lay down comfortably on the grass.

"O(∩_∩)O hahaha~"

A crisp laugh came from nearby. Hiroshi turned his head, seeing Klee lying on the grass with her stomach full, smiling at him happily.

Unable to stop a smile from forming, Hiroshi looked at Klee joyfully.

"Klee, thank you! The fish was delicious. Next time, I'll let you taste my cooking. Cooked fish is even tastier."

"Really?! There's even better fish? Big brother, then next time we have to blow up some more fish together!"

"Sure, I'll be ready anytime."

"By the way, can I take some of these fish with me?"

"Of course! Klee's already full, so take whatever you want, big brother."

"Thanks, Klee."

Slowly getting up, Hiroshi looked towards Mondstadt in the distance. He walked towards Starfell Lake, where charred fish floated on the surface. Some were still unconscious, only their bodies twitching slightly, as if in a nightmare.

He reached out, touched one of the fish, and it disappeared with a swoosh, leaving only a splash of water behind.

Lying on the grass, Klee watched Hiroshi running around the lake, curiously observing his actions.

"Big brother, where are you hiding the fish?"

"Oh, it's in a spiritual storage space."

?

A big question mark appeared over Klee's head.

"Big brother, what's a storage space?"

"Umm, you could think of it as my special ability."

Sensing that the storage space was almost full, Hiroshi stretched his sore back, yawning as he looked at the reddening sky in the west. He turned to see Klee happily chasing butterflies.

"Klee, it's getting late. We should head back."

Hearing Hiroshi's voice, Klee sped up, catching a butterfly in her hand, then ran towards him.

"Big brother, let's go quickly then. If it gets dark, Master Jean will scold me."

As the sun set, the two of them, one big and one small, began to walk along the road.

Their conversation drifted in the wind.

"Klee, why are you catching butterflies?"

"Butterflies are great materials. I'm trying to add them to my Jumpy Dumpty bombs."

"Big brother, where are you from?"

"Me? I accidentally came here from another world."

"Oh, so you're a traveler from another world. Then we should report to Master Jean."

As the sun set and the moon slowly rose, fireflies danced by the roadside. Under the moonlight, Klee led Hiroshi to the gate of Mondstadt.

"Klee!"

A stern voice called out. A woman walked out from the gate, her long, light golden hair tied into a ponytail. Her uniform made her look very competent, and her delicate face was full of worry and anger.

Seeing the woman's face, Klee, who had been striding forward, skidded to a stop and hid behind Hiroshi with a startled yelp.

Jean, who had initially been filled with anger, noticed someone else when she saw Klee hiding behind them. Observing Hiroshi's attire and foreign face, her expression became serious, and she straightened up.

"Hello, welcome to Mondstadt. May I ask why you've come here, traveler?"

Klee, who was hiding behind Hiroshi, peeked her head out and looked at Jean.

"Master Jean, big brother is from another world. I found him and brought him back."

Jean looked at Klee, who wore a face that seemed to say, "I did good, I'm not guilty." She glared at Klee and then looked at Hiroshi, bowing slightly.

"Thank you for bringing Klee back."

Looking at this familiar yet unfamiliar person, Hiroshi smiled, patting Klee's little head.

"Klee, your family is here to take you home. Thank you for today. I'll come find you to play next time, but now you need to go home."

Klee looked at Jean, who was glaring at her, and shrank back in fear. She said a soft goodbye to Hiroshi before carefully walking out from behind him and towards Jean.

Amber emerged from the side, nodded at Jean, and curiously looked at Hiroshi before taking Klee's small hand and leading her back into Mondstadt.

Watching Klee leave his side safely, Jean let out a slight sigh of relief, giving Hiroshi an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry, traveler. There have been too many things happening in Mondstadt lately, so I've been a bit tense."

"I am Jean, acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, tasked with keeping Mondstadt safe. Shall we head to the Knights' headquarters to talk more?"

Inside the Knights of Favonius, Jean sat at her desk, listening to Hiroshi's story.

"So, you suddenly found yourself here from your world, and you have no idea how to return?"

Sitting in the chair, Hiroshi nodded.

"Yes, so I hope I can settle down in Mondstadt for the time being."

Jean stood up, walking in front of Hiroshi.

"Of course, Mondstadt welcomes every traveler. Do you need any help from the Knights?"

Standing up, Hiroshi smiled awkwardly.

"Thank you, Master Jean. I do need a little help. Could you help me arrange accommodation for tonight? Of course, I will pay for it."

A slight smile appeared on Jean's face.

"No problem, I will arrange your food and lodging for tonight. There's no need to worry about the cost."

Jean led Hiroshi out of the headquarters, and as he looked at the giant statue of the Anemo Archon in the city, Hiroshi knew that he would probably be living in Mondstadt for quite some time.
