Genshin Impact: I Can Obtain Adventure EXP

Chapter 359: Chapter 359: An Unexpected Encounter Beneath the Sea

The notification sounds from acquiring Adventure EXP continued for over ten minutes before gradually stopping. Outside the boat, the ocean water had visibly turned a deep red.

Nolan glanced at the Adventure EXP section on his character panel:

[Adventure EXP: 150,909]

Initially, he had 100,000 Adventure EXP, which had now surged to 150,000. It seemed that defeating these aquatic monsters had granted him roughly 50,000 points.

This was enough to level up once, though he was still slightly short of leveling up twice.

Nolan wasn't one to hoard Adventure EXP unnecessarily. Even a single level-up was worth it, as it would enhance the effects of Harmony when used to aid the girls' growth.

Adventure EXP - 86,000

Lv86 (0/86,000) → Lv87 (0/87,000)

Boom!

A sensation akin to soaking in a hot spring spread through his body, warming every cell. The strengthening energy worked silently yet effectively, like a gentle spring rain nurturing all it touched.

Without fanfare, his body was subtly and thoroughly enhanced.

At this stage, where every level above 80 was increasingly challenging, the enhancements that came with each level-up were equally significant.

Compared to before, his current strength had increased by more than 10%, which was no small improvement—it was nearly equivalent to the combined power he had accumulated from levels 1 to 70.

Adventure EXP: 64,909

Nolan glanced at the remaining 64,000 Adventure EXP. Another 22,000 or so, and he could level up again.

Unfortunately, the monsters outside weren't generous enough. Just a bit more, and he could have hit that next milestone.

"Why did so many monsters suddenly show up?" Paimon asked curiously, floating within the cabin as she stared at the crimson-streaked waters outside.

"It might be a migration. Some animals and magical creatures are known to migrate with the changing seasons," Lumine speculated. Her straight, shapely legs, clad in knee-high white heeled boots, shifted slightly as she adjusted to the gentle rocking of the boat. One arm was crossed, and the other rested on her chin as she pondered.

"Mona, could you perform a divination to check if something unusual is happening? It'd be troublesome if there's an unseen danger we haven't noticed," Nolan suggested, glancing at Mona.

"Fine," Mona replied with a sigh.

She brushed aside a lock of smooth hair from her temple before summoning her water scrying disk.

Neither Nolan, Lumine, nor even the curious Paimon could interpret the changes in the water scrying disk. They simply watched as it spun with soft "tick-tock" sounds for two full rotations.

Then, without warning, the azure-blue disk vanished.

In Mona's hands appeared a constellation-like image of a "giant fanged serpent."

"A… snake?" Paimon's starry eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh, could it be that a powerful serpent-like creature is hunting in the sea? Maybe those fish earlier were actually fleeing for their lives?" Nolan speculated.

"That could be the case," Mona replied, lightly raising her chin. She confidently patted her chest, where her sleek blue bodysuit revealed a glimpse of fair skin. "But I didn't see any danger for us in my divination, so there's no need to worry about unexpected trouble."

"Phew, that's a relief. Let's keep moving then," Paimon sighed, visibly more relaxed.

She had been genuinely worried earlier, imagining a massive serpent monster suddenly emerging from beneath the boat and swallowing them all in one bite!

Nolan nodded and continued manipulating the water element to propel their small boat away from the area.

He trusted Mona's astrology implicitly. There was no need to overthink it—better to consider it a delightful bounty of Adventure EXP delivered straight to his doorstep.

---

After spending considerable time discussing elemental techniques, Nolan suggested they take a short break.

However, Lumine and Mona, knowing his mischievous tendencies, immediately excused themselves under the pretense of returning to Mondstadt to prepare dinner.

Well, fine.

Defeated in his ploy, Nolan was left with only Paimon, who didn't have the heart to leave him alone on the boat.

"Hey, Paimon, want to show off your skills?" Nolan asked, seizing the moment as Lumine and Mona were off preparing dinner. With time to kill, he decided it was a perfect opportunity to hunt monsters and earn more Adventure EXP.

"What do you mean?" Paimon tilted her head in confusion.

"I'm going to use water elements to create a shell around the boat, complete with two water cannons. Then we'll dive underwater and go looking for monsters to fight. Let's see who can take down more enemies. The loser buys dinner—what do you say?" Nolan suggested with a sly grin.

"Wow, that sounds fun! But… you're so strong, and you're the one making the water cannons. What if you cheat?" Paimon asked suspiciously, intrigued but cautious.

"Hey, what kind of person do you take me for? I'm nothing if not fair!" Nolan feigned indignation. "If you're worried, how about you decide the rules instead?"

Paimon's eyes lit up with a mischievous gleam. "Hehe, I've got it! If I lose, you treat me to one big meal. But if I win, you treat me to TWO big meals!"

She beamed at her clever plan.

Nolan was momentarily speechless. What a "brilliant" mind this little glutton has… After a brief hesitation, he agreed to her terms.

---

Before long, Nolan enveloped the boat in a water-element shell, complete with two cannons on either side. These cannons were extensions of his control, but he allowed Paimon to operate one herself.

For Paimon's cannon, he provided a water-element stream linked to a joystick-like handle inside the boat. She could move the cannon by holding the handle and aim it in any direction. Firing was as simple as pressing a button, which sent a signal to Nolan, who instinctively executed the attack for her.

The setup was seamless, as responsive as playing a real-time mobile game.'

(T/N: I wonder what's the connection latency will be, like 1ms Lol!)

---

Once ready, Nolan guided the boat to submerge, transitioning from surface travel to an underwater voyage. The experience was remarkably different, though their speed was slightly reduced.

The slower pace had its perks, however. They could enjoy the stunning underwater scenery, from schools of colorful fish to fierce sharks and even more dangerous monsters.

Whenever a monster appeared, a single cannon shot was often enough to defeat it—so long as it wasn't heavily armored.

---

Half an hour passed in this thrilling underwater game, with the small adventure boat maintaining its course despite the dive.

Suddenly—

When Paimon's cannon struck a blue, fish-like monster hiding within a massive coral structure, the water shell also shattered part of the coral.

Behind it lay a hidden sight: a gold-edged spatial rift. The rift's center was an abyssal black, as if gazing into an infinite void.

Nolan and Paimon exchanged astonished glances.

"Well, it seems we've hit the jackpot!"
