chapter 23
023 – Proof(1)
next day.
Tigris got ready to go to work.
According to the regulations of the Imperial University, a navy blue uniform proving that he was a swordsmanship instructor and an instructor’s plaque were attached to his chest.
The appearance was so precarious that Linia was arguing that she should bring her camera.
Linia handed the small gift box to Tigris.
“Brother, take this.”
Tigris tilted his head.
“What is this?”
“It’s a gift. I feel like I need this somehow.”
Tigris opened the gift box.
Inside was a fountain pen with a smooth silver nib.
Tigris liked that it was clean and not noisy.
“Thank you. I will use it well.”
“Hehe···.”
Linia felt good when Tigris subtly liked it.
Next time, I thought I should save up some pocket money and give it as a gift.
“If you have any problems, feel free to contact the school at any time. I will run right away.”
“yes. Okay. Brother.”
Tigris arrived at the Imperial University.
The inside of the university was quiet.
In January, it was the season when the students were on vacation and it was a time for maintenance of internal facilities, so there were not many people there.
Often, only the people who manage the facility were seen walking around leisurely.
Tigris headed to the teachers building where the teachers’ offices were located.
Among them, he went up to the third floor, where the swordsmanship instructor’s office and meeting room were located.
As soon as I got to the third floor, a familiar face greeted Tigris.
“7:50 p.m. . . . Looks better than me.”
It seemed to be more accurate to say that I was clamoring rather than welcoming.
Tigris’ direct senior, Bedrian, raised his picky glasses and said.
“The normal start time is 8:00, but it is recommended to arrive 20 to 10 minutes earlier.”
“Why?”
At Tigris’ direct question, Bedrian was a little perplexed.
“.
“I understand that students go to work at 8 because classes start at 8:30. But do I need to come from there ten minutes earlier?”
“…I’ve heard it’s a bit unlucky, but if you’re that stiff here, you’re going to get tired.”
To be honest, Bedrian had nothing to say.
Because Bedrian goes to work like a knife at 8 o’clock.
However, the reason I went to work 20 minutes earlier than usual was to catch the Tigris from the start and enter.
Tigris won the Young Blood Tournament and made 4 rings.
As he was praised as a rare genius, his nose was raised and he thought he would not listen to him.
‘Unfortunately, they’re trying to fight the spirit from the very beginning.’
Bedrian furrowed his eyebrows.
“It’s all from my experience, so don’t bother vomiting my words. If you don’t want to be a tiring instructor, you’d better just follow me as a shooter.”
Tigris remembered Bedrian of the past.
He was authoritative, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have the skills, and he wasn’t without passion as an instructor, he was a mean person.
Since he was a commoner and knew the limits of his talent from an early age, he was determined to the point of signing a life contract with the Imperial University right away and was a person with eyes to see.
– ···Mis···Crazy! What is this now! How do you do this?
– hey···! Somebody call the medic. Come on!
However, he was a person who easily collapsed when faced with a task he could not handle.
There was a rule within the Imperial University that no serious injury could be inflicted in a duel, but when Tigris cut off Morita’s tendon in his right arm, Bedrian panicked and did nothing.
Since then, I haven’t looked at Tigris, and Tigris hasn’t followed the set educational curriculum alone, and I’ve left him alone even though he’s been training alone.
If I had a normal personality, I would apply for a duel and press it right away, but now that I have decided to change, it is better not to use such forceful moves.
Then there was only one way.
All he had to do was prove he was far superior to Bedrian.
“All right.”
At Tigris’ unexpectedly innocent words, his stiff expression was relieved.
‘It will come out like that earlier.’
Tigris continued.
“I understand that you must give a mock lecture in front of the head of the department before starting this lecture due to the regulations.”
“···yes. I know it well. By the way?”
“I hope Instructor Bedrian will help me with my mock lecture.”
Bedrian made a small rot.
“Well, just say it. I’ll help you all. After all, as an archer, I have to teach them everything about syllabus and how to use the funds.”
“I wish Instructor Bedrian would directly participate in the mock lecture rather than that. It’s about being guided by me.”
“…does that mean that I should play the student role?”
“Yes. That’s right.”
Bedrian nodded as if he knew.
‘Is this going to come out like this?’
I could not suppress it even with my status and money, so I wanted to compete with my skills.
But good sword handling and good teaching are two completely different things.
‘I can’t miss the opportunity to slap this arrogant master’s nose.’
“good. If that’s the case, I’ll help.”
Bedrian’s rot grew deeper.
* * *
Bedrian faithfully played his role as a shooter.
It wasn’t because Tigris was pretty, but because he didn’t teach me later, so I didn’t even say that I didn’t know.
“Did you understand everything?”
Tigris nodded as he looked at the school rules that Bedrian had handed over.
‘You’re funny.’
Bedrian snorted.
Although he did not know swordsmanship, there was no way that Tigris could properly understand this administrative aspect.
‘Cause you know you have to do this
“The operating cost of each course at the school is 10 gold per semester. You can’t use it any more, and if you use more than that, it won’t end in vomit. Failure to do so may lead to disciplinary deliberation, so you need to check carefully.”
“Yes.”
Tigris had never worked as an instructor.
However, he has experience in administrative tasks such as managing money, preparing public documents, and managing materials.
It is not enough to be abundant.
When Beowulf was cursed and couldn’t get out of bed, Tigris took over the administrative work as a proxy.
Tigris is the heir to the Norberd family.
When the family was in a state of not being able to pay their wages, the vassals left one by one, and the few remaining members had to lead the family.
For that reason, Tigris also acted as a practitioner who prepared official documents, and Tigris did almost all of the money and material management.
Of course, although the administrative system of the Imperial University and the Norbert family were different, they had the know-how to efficiently manage supplies and money.
“Then, thank you… Oh, that’s right. You’ll be very busy when the semester starts, so you’d better get an instructor’s assistant early. The rule is to select one from among the current students, and the application fee is 10 silver per month, so it would be better to get one from common people.”
Having finished speaking, Bedrian said as he closed the door to Tigris’ office.
“Then suffer.”
Bedrian snorted and muttered.
“It’s going to be really hard.”
I did teach you how to make a syllabus, but I will give it 100% to the head of Nation.
It was really hard to come up with a plan for how the funds would be managed, in which gymnasium the classes would be held, what the lecture was going to be, and what to teach each week.
When Bedrian first entered the Imperial University and tried to open a lecture, he was locked in his office for almost two months.
There was only a little over a month left until Tigris submitted his syllabus.
No matter how long and flying the Tigris, it would be impossible to make a lecture in a month.
Predictably, without even submitting a syllabus, it was clear that he would come in as Bedrian’s assistant instructor.
‘Then, I’ll roll it like a mouse.’
* * *
But Bedrian’s expectations were mercilessly shattered.
Head of Nation laid down Tigris’ syllabus on the table and opened his mouth.
“The mock lecture will be held next week.”
Exactly 3 weeks.
Within three weeks, Tigris submitted his syllabus.
After seeing the syllabus, Dean Nation passed the syllabus the very next week.
“I think Bedrian taught you well. It’s deep and detailed, and there’s no typos or inscriptions, and it’s clean. There is no problem with the spending plan.”
“ah···. yes···.”
The words to say rose up to my throat.
Tigris did not show it to him even once, and immediately submitted it to the head of the department.
Originally, it was correct to have the gunner review it once and submit it to the head of the department, but Tigris did not.
‘This bastard…’
If there was even a slight mistake, the head of Nation would have poured arrows of criticism not only on that guy but also on himself.
Obviously Tigris knew this, but he didn’t show him the syllabus.
Bedrian grinded his teeth and scanned Tigris’ syllabus.
‘Yeah, let’s see how well you wrote it.’
The title of the lecture was <Understanding and Breaking Down Hits>.
‘What are all these things.’
Are you going to teach your students just one hit all semester?
With that thought in mind, Bedrian continued reading the syllabus.
<Education plan for each parking lot>
Understanding the 1st Strike
Breaking with a cross-cutting
Breaking with a cross-cutting in the 3rd week
Breaking up with a 4th parking lift
Breaking down with a 5th parking lift
…
What to teach for each week, why to teach, where and how to teach, and what goals for each week are written in great detail.
There was one problem.
‘Am I understanding this right now?’
It wasn’t difficult to read because there were a lot of useless rhetoric in the sentences or because it was a medium-sized heating system.
The level of content contained in this book was so high that it was difficult to understand.
This was not a syllabus level text, it was almost thesis level…
It was so difficult that even though Bedrian read it two or three times, there were parts that he did not understand.
But it was too hard to admit.
Only a 19-year-old has this kind of mentality?
Bedrian is 36 years old.
The age difference is almost double, and it was embarrassing to not understand the 19-year-old Shim Deuk.
Bedrian looked around.
The other swordsmanship instructors were also reading the text while sweating.
Not one of them passed the first chapter.
Then a teacher spoke up.
“Instructor Bedrian.”
“···yes.”
“Did you really review this?”
The instructors’ eyes turned to Bedrian.
Bedrian swallowed his saliva.
Naturally, his eyes turned to Tigris, who was sitting quietly with his arms crossed.
Tigris’ eyes met Bedrian’s.
Lies are…
“···no. Couldn’t review.”
couldn’t get out
It was because it was clear that even a little question about this syllabus would reveal it.
“I was just teaching you how to write a syllabus.”
However, because of the very dust of pride that remained, he could not reveal all the truth.
It’s as if you gave up after watching the review…
No, it was as if he had paid any attention to Tigris…
The ugly truth was hidden in the truth.
The Nation dean and other instructors nodded as if they understood.
“Actually, it took me a week to fully understand… There is no need to be ashamed.”
embarrassed.
The fact that he is worse than Tigris.
The very fact that he did not fully understand the meaning of Tigris.
I only thought he was a genius, but I never imagined that there would be such a difference.
It felt like Bedrian’s entire swordsmanship life had been denied.
Bedrian glanced at Tigris again.
Tigris was looking at Bedrian with piercing eyes.
Bedrian clenched his fists.
‘Yes, don’t admit that you’re smart. However···!’
A little jealousy that had sprouted from the remaining pride raised its head.
“…I don’t know who will be able to listen to this lecture.”
All the instructors nodded in recognition of Bedrian’s words.
“I’m sure it’s great stuff, but I’m not sure if I can teach this to my students. There will be no problem for the instructor, but will the students be able to understand this…”
Bedrian walked the path of the sword for 20 years.
Even so, it is difficult to understand this, and there was no way that the students who had studied for three years with less swords could fully accept them.
Tigris, who had been silent throughout the meeting, opened his mouth.
“I’ll show you at the mock lecture tomorrow.”
Tigris listened to the 30-page syllabus.
“There is a big difference between reading and actually experiencing it. I will prepare lectures for the first and second weeks to prove that students of a certain level can listen.”
“If students are above a certain level, what level are you talking about?”
“Anyone talented enough to make a ring in a teenager.”
At Tigris’ words, the instructors swallowed their breath.
Tigris said that every student in the Department of Swordsmanship at the Imperial University could make this high-level education entirely their own.
This was because the basic condition for admission to the Department of Swordsmanship at the Imperial University was to make at least one ring.
“Is it really possible?”
“I will prove it tomorrow.”
Tigris knew very well that a show is more effective than a hundred words.
