Genius Composer Who’s a Dedicated Fan

Chapter 26 - First Concert

Two days before Baek Yerin’s first concert.

Ryu Won visited the Korea Indoor Gymnasium.

It was to watch Baek Yerin’s ongoing concert rehearsal. And there was another reason besides that.

“You want to leave the concert’s progression and stage direction to the outsourcing company and our side?”

“Yes. I have no experience in that area at all. If I get involved, it might even be a minus. But I want to direct at least the last song Yerin will sing.”

Kang Beom-joon shrugged at Ryu Won’s answer.

Do as you like.

That was roughly the meaning.

Honestly, Ryu Won hadn’t been very interested in stage direction until now.

Because he was only busy composing songs.

But now he had some leeway, and he wanted to take charge of directing at least the song Baek Yerin would sing at the last moment of this concert.

“So what kind of picture are you roughly drawing? Did checking the inside of the venue give you some ideas?”

“Not at all.”

“Oh… When you say that, it definitely feels different.”

Kang Beom-joon made a slightly surprised expression.

And for good reason, who was Ryu Won?

A genius composer whose twenty-five composed songs are all playing around in the top 100. Even that Baek Yerin acknowledges and respects this genius.

Moreover, he has excellent persuasive power to realize his crazy ideas as they are, and the stubbornness to rush in first when it comes to a certain girl’s matters.

For such a guy to have something clumsy and difficult was a bit amazing from Kang Beom-joon’s perspective, but…

“No. I’m just going to go with the direction I had in mind when I first composed that song. Like you appearing, I think if we do more direction than that on such a big stage, it might rather reduce the emotion.”

As expected, you have to listen to the end in Korean.

Ryu Won explained in detail to Kang Beom-joon the direction he had initially envisioned. From Ryu Won’s position, Kang Beom-joon was the one who would ultimately have to talk with the directing director.

And as Kang Beom-joon listened to Ryu Won’s explanation, his eyes started to grow bigger.

This is probably…

‘Could it be he had talent in stage direction too?’

He felt like he had discovered a new talent of Ryu Won.

During the break time of the concert rehearsal, Baek Yerin secretly came to the audience seats where Ryu Won and Kang Beom-joon were sitting.

As the three sat side by side and conversed familiarly, the topic of this conversation was about the fandom that had formed for Baek Yerin.

“The fandom name was definitely ‘Yeorin’, right?”

“Yes. Originally, the fan cafe was established first, and they voted for the fandom name there.”

The one that received the most votes there was ‘Goddess Yerin’, shortened to ‘Yeorin’.

“It seems like a not bad fandom name. Well… I don’t know how the person in question will think about it.”

“Hm? I’m just so amazed that a fandom has formed. Ah, and I heard from Hari unnie that they’ve already made cheering methods for each song.”

There’s a saying that when in Rome, do as the Romans do, and when traveling, it’s better to know something about the culture of that country.

In that sense, cheering methods are a kind of study as a fan.

It’s not absolutely necessary, but it’s good to memorize them if possible.

After all, a concert is an event created together by the singer, who is the protagonist of the stage, and the audience and fans who play the role of excellent supporting actors.

At that moment, Kang Beom-joon said with a quite puzzled expression:

“Right. Originally, it’s standard for the marketing department to make cheering methods separately, but one person active in your fan cafe suddenly made them all. But when I heard them, they were so good that we had no choice but to accept them right away.”

“I heard from Hari unnie too. That person’s activity name was definitely ‘RW0927’…”

“Right. It was definitely that name… Now that I think about it, it does seem a bit strange.”

“Indeed. RW is probably their name changed to English, right?”

“0927 seems like a birthday to anyone. But it feels like someone with all of that included was near me… but also seems like it’s not.”

Kang Beom-joon and Baek Yerin looked at Ryu Won at the same time.

Ryu Won was shaking his legs a lot as if something was uneasy.

Isn’t this when you use the expression ‘a thief is sensitive about their feet’?

“Ryu Won. Just asking out of curiosity, when was your birthday again?”

“Ah, I remember that. It was definitely September 27th.”

“Hmm~ I see. Yerin, shall we check together what posts that person uploaded on the fan cafe now? I’m so curious.”

“That’s a good idea, right?”

“Oh, both of you stop teasing me now!”

Make your fan cafe activity name completely unrelated to yourself.

Ryu Won, who had chosen his activity name carelessly, is said to have learned a good lesson today.

“The weather is nice.”

The day of Baek Yerin’s first concert.

It was a bright day. Even if it’s an indoor venue, bright weather is better than gloomy weather.

Come to think of it, in just another month it will already be June.

Actually, June meant summer, so I suddenly felt that time really flies.

Anyway.

“With so many people, I wonder if they’ll all fit inside…”

“It’ll be quite spacious once you get inside. Shall we go?”

I escorted Baek Yerin’s mother into the concert hall.

The first sight to see was the stage where Baek Yerin would stand today.

Starting with a huge screen, there was a narrow path laid out, and at the end, there was a cube-shaped land placed to see the singer as close as possible.

It felt amazing all of a sudden.

To build such a huge set in this indoor gymnasium in just one day…

While I was thinking that, one by one, the audience entered and took their seats.

In an instant, all the seats were filled, and right on time for the concert, the ceiling lights slowly started to turn off.

And.

– I want to walk with you.

On the beautiful cherry blossom road.

Along with cheerful guitar sounds, Baek Yerin’s song started to resound inside the concert hall.

Probably everyone at the venue realized at once what song this was.

The song that proudly took the title track position of Baek Yerin’s 3rd album, and a song that seems like it would immediately come to mind when thinking of spring.

It was the best song to announce the appearance of Baek Yerin, today’s concert protagonist.

“Hello everyone!”

Baek Yerin, standing at the center of the stage, lightly finished and greeted the audience with an energetic voice.

The audience welcomed her with a huge cheer in response to her greeting.

Everyone raised their voices, but you could clearly feel the excitement in their expressions.

It was the moment of welcoming Baek Yerin’s first concert and seeing her in person up close.

Baek Yerin raised her microphone again with a surprised expression at the thunderous cheers that almost filled the entire gymnasium.

“Wow… I really didn’t know you would welcome me this enthusiastically. First, I sang a song called , how was it? …You say it was really good? Phew, I’m really relieved. Honestly, I was a bit nervous because it was the first song at my first concert. But now I don’t feel nervous at all thanks to your big response.”

Baek Yerin continued the concert progression so smoothly that it was hard to believe it was her first time.

As if it was her calling, she naturally communicated with the audience in the venue and showed through her singing why so many people came to see her.

In such an atmosphere, Ryu Won said this to Lee Yeon-hee:

“You look proud.”

“Of course.”

Lee Yeon-hee nodded with a smile at Ryu Won’s words.

In fact, this was the first time she was hearing Baek Yerin’s live performance as a singer.

And she was amazed.

Beyond singing well, the figure of her daughter standing on stage felt so immense.

She was filling the stage with that delicate body. She was continuously drawing responses and cheers from the numerous people in the hall without a break.

That’s why Lee Yeon-hee was feeling joy and sadness at the same time.

If only she had noticed her daughter’s talent a little earlier…

She could have watched these happy moments a little longer.

However, Lee Yeon-hee felt more gratitude than regret. And that gratitude was directed towards Ryu Won sitting right next to her.

In a way, it was thanks to Ryu Won, this child, that she could share this happy moment.

While Lee Yeon-hee was thinking that, the concert was gradually approaching its end.

Meanwhile.

Ryu Won smiled bitterly.

Currently, there are a total of twenty-five songs registered under Baek Yerin’s name.

In fact, if she sang all these songs and did an encore on top of that, it would easily exceed 5 hours.

But due to a certain plan of mine, the concert time inevitably had to be reduced naturally.

From the start.

‘She’s been singing conservatively until now for the last song.’

Nevertheless, the audience’s response and reaction had been the best from the beginning until now, and of course, they wouldn’t have noticed this fact.

Even if she sang conservatively to some extent, Baek Yerin’s live performance is beyond imagination.

Still, feeling sorry was feeling sorry.

Probably Baek Yerin is feeling the same way right now.

From the start, today’s concert wasn’t an event for the 10,000 audience members who visited this place.

It was going to be a concert for only one person, that person alone.

Ryu Won had always imagined that he wished that person was himself. But this time, he had no choice but to yield.

Ryu Won looked at the stage again.

There, Baek Yerin was slowly catching her breath.

…Now the time has come.
