Gardening Life With Plant Magic: Haku and the Spirits’ Botanical Garden

24: Let's Use the Weed Removal Magic

My level has increased to twenty because I created a rose garden.

Perhaps it’s because I made many types of rose seedlings using plant creation magic, but it feels like I’ve shot up in levels.

There’s so much cultivated area that I’ve stopped counting.

Now I’m just planting haphazardly wherever I like.

The time until harvest has also significantly shortened, and now I can plant multiple times a day.

Since the reservation function has also greatly leveled up, I need to use it wisely.

Newly added is the aquatic plant cultivation area.

This time, there weren’t any specific instructions for plants.

I’m sure the skill manager was amazed because I was creating plants left and right with creation magic.

They probably thought, “Just do as you like.”

Sorry for taking away your work, skill manager.

So, with that, rice cultivation has become possible!

Pat, pat~

And I can also make claire grass.

When cultivating plants in this world, it seems you have to store the actual items in the warehouse once before you can use them, so someone will have to gather them for me.

They should be somewhere in this vast forest, so maybe I’ll ask someone next year.

Exciting times ahead!

By the way, the warehouse capacity has finally maxed out!

The mass-produced magic weed has reached its limit with ‘9999’.

However, this ‘one’ contains the harvest from one field, so in reality, it means there’s over tens of times that much stored.

Moreover, the dried ones are treated separately.

I think of it as almost unlimited storage from my perspective.

While doing all this, the cold winter arrived.

With snow falling and unable to go outside, I found myself with a little free time.

I wondered if there was any work I could do.

If there’s indoor work I can do, I might be able to earn money even in winter, right?

Then it hit me.

Wouldn’t it be great to commercialize all that magic weed I made?

With the warehouse storage maxed out and knowing that magic weed has no effect on humans, maybe I could do side jobs indoors.

Let’s ask Martha right away!

I rushed into Martha’s working room!

“Martha, how do you turn dried magic weed into something you can sell?”

“What’s gotten into you all of a sudden? Did you think of something again?”

Martha stopped her mending work and looked at me.

“Yeah, you know how there’s no work in winter, right? I was thinking if there’s any side job I could do indoors. Then I remembered the story about selling dried magic weed at the Adventurers’ Guild…”

I took out the dried magic weed from the basket I was holding and showed it to her.

“My goodness, you’re quite knowledgeable. I do recall hearing such stories. Perhaps Tom would know more? Would it be alright if I took that basket over there into my care?”

Martha’s expression seemed to change.

That’s right.

You remembered that magic weed can be sold.

Since Martha has built a network with the village ladies since the radberry sales, I think she’d want to introduce their side jobs.

I’m quite strict, aren’t I?

“I have plenty of dried magic weed, so please let me know once you understand.”

The discussion quickly made its way from Martha and Tom to my father, and was implemented for the village’s offseason side jobs.

The village chief was delighted to be able to use the village meeting hall as a workshop.

The Adventurers’ Guild is available worldwide, making high demand for selling it an attractive point.

The rarity of magic weed is a critical point.

Once it gets on track, it should be a good source of income, right?

Apparently, you can light the magic weed dried, add bug-off herbs.

Mint and chrysanthemums are known as repellent to bugs.

Anyway.

What I’ve made is called a “magic weed ball.”

To ensure it burns for a long time when lit, it’s molded into a spherical shape and kneaded with slime body fluid and nori seaweed, so it doesn’t burn all at once.

Slime, huh!

They’re a staple for defeating beginner monsters!

The ones I saw were processed into liquid after being defeated…

Kind of disappointing.

Slimes are called forest cleaners and are found everywhere.

They’re the weakest, but even weaker than me? That’s surprising…

This magic weed ball is used by burning it at campfires to produce smoke in the vicinity. You repeat this each time the guard shifts to keep it burning until morning.

Does one ball last about two to three hours?

You can also put the powder into small bags and carry it around. It’s versatile for throwing when escaping, among other uses.

The expiration date for the magic weed ball is about one month. The powder has an even shorter lifespan.

So, they’re transported and stored in magic bags.

Items with time-stop functions are sold at the Adventurers’ Guild, allowing adventurers without magic bags to access new items.

For us, it’s convenient to just bring the completed magic weed balls to the Adventurers’ Guild in Camille Village.

Father and Burton immediately set off with the completed magic weed balls.

Even for the guild, they can’t disregard the lord himself bringing in business.

Processing and providing the highly valued magic weed isn’t a bad deal.

Either way, it’s a profitable arrangement, so I think it’ll work out well.

The results were excellent.

The Adventurers’ Guild was already aware of the magic weed planted along the roadsides of Luke Village and Camille Village, and they were discussing how to utilize it.

They purchased all the magic weed balls made in Luke Village for our household and bulk sold them to the guild. This way, even if there are leftovers, the villagers will still get paid, ensuring stable income.

They requested adventurers not to indiscriminately harvest magic weed, except in emergencies.

Deciding even one thing involves many agreements.

Great job, everyone.

As a thank you from me, I gave them a special fruit feast.
