Chapter 86: Advanced level trial "Treasure heaven"
Once Whittaker passes the next trial, this information will spread throughout the continent, anyway. It's not because Elder Zachary wanted to make this announcement, but because many prying eyes were already trying to peek at what's happening in Zachary's palace. Although Elder Zachary has used a formation to block their sight, they will still found out about his inheritor by using divination and other methods.
The reasons for their blatant and disrespectful actions were pretty simple. First of all, Zachary can't leave his palace. Also, Zachary has been near his deathbed for the past five years. It is estimated that he will die anytime, soon. Once he dies, the treasures filled palace will have no master, and it will be ready for taking. Due to these reasons, some powerhouse has decided to show no respect to Zachary, who was more than five hundred years old, and an A-ranked expert.
___
"Teacher, I won't be able to attend class tomorrow. I am in an inheritance trial, and it might take days to complete!"
"Shadow, we probably won't be able to hunt together for a while, as I am in the land of winds. But I will return stronger than ever, and we will hunt powerful magical beasts!"
"Lily, don't prepare breakfast for me! I am currently stranded someplace far away, and I really miss your food."
"Senior student, Lin Dong, I might not be able to give an affirmative answer to you by the end of this week. I need some more time to decide. I will appreciate your patience."
He sends some more messages to others, who have mana coms registered in their name and shared their contact information with him. Sadly, he didn't know about the contact information of his sister, and his brother and mother didn't have one, so he couldn't notify them.
In the end, Whittaker notified Miss Ruka, Shadow, Lily, Christopher (his food supplier), and the vice-commander of Azure Dragon Tooth guild about his whereabouts. It was nighttime so no reply came back, as everyone was sleeping.
Soon after, he braced himself and walked towards the clouded portal, entering which, he found his vision clouded. It wasn't because of a headache or dizziness, but because the place where he was transported to was misty and cloudy, just like the clouded portal.
"Devansha vision!" His eyes started to flickers as his vision penetrated through the thick mist, right after, the true view of this place was witnessed by Whittaker.
He was standing atop a grassy hill which was part of a vast, misty, and diverse forest. Its canopy was competed for by pine, ash, and sycamore, and the occasional beam of light that made its way atop the crown of the tree pierced through the mist and scattered on the colorful jaded flowers, which reflect the sunshine, creating a dazzling show of light.
Thin and thick vines held onto a couple of trees, just like vipers and king cobra coiling around branches and trunk of a tree. A wide range of jaded flowers, which Whittaker has never seen till now, adorned the otherwise misty forest grassy floor. A system notification popped up in his vision when he gazed at the jaded flowers.
[Item: Spirit Flower (Low-grade)
Effect: Increases the size of the mana pool by 1 Km in area. Currently, the guardian mana pool is 100 km wide and long, and he can at most increase the mana points in his mana pool by a total of 1000 Mana points.]
'So basically if I absorb one of these spirit flowers the size of my mana pool will increase by 1 km, and I will be able to increase the mana in my mana pool by a total of 1010 points?' he internally asked the system. A thoughtful expression could be seen in his eyes, as this was the first time that he had heard about this object.
The peak of the F-ranked mage was 1000 mana points in the mana pool. Whittaker had 310 units in his mana pool, and 100 mana units in his snowy hair strands, a total of 410 mana units.
P.S: 100 Km increase in mana pool size (both in width and length) = 1000 mana units.
[Yes! I advise the guardian to use this treasure right after collecting it. The guardian mana pool will strengthen and it won't be destabilized as easily as before. You will be to become stronger as a mage way faster than before. If possible then get some spirit flower for Katherine too.]
‹Mission Activated: Collect 1000 spirit flowers
Rewards: Fasten Katherine recovery time, Magic spell: Frost Healing Touch›
'Is Katherine in the pendent?' he asked to confirm his suspicion.
After a short while, the system replied, [Yes! She is slumbering inside the pendent...]
'I will do as you say,' Whittaker has felt the pain of mana pool destabilizing, which was somewhat comparable to the pain of death, and he didn't want to undergo such painful moments, once again. Also, he wanted to meet Katherine, the guardian of his mother's family, also knowns as Devansha peoples.
He muttered while gazing around the misty forest, "Surprisingly, this time no announcement was made..."
Right after his vision focused on a wide holographic notification which has silently appeared in the middle of the grassy field. If he didn't have Devansha eyes then he would have never noticed it. This was the first test of this carefree trial.
[Conditions to pass the Advance level inheritance trial: Reach the Summit of the heaven-reaching misty mountain of Zachary palace!
Rewards:
A: Opening to the last stage of Zachary trials, Heaven-reaching trial.
B: Return Portal
C: One Card of A Deck
Rewards won't be increased no matter how fast you complete this trial. This is a simple trial with rewards spread throughout the trial grounds. The challenger can feel free to take all the spirit flowers he wants... If he can›
Due to the last sentence, Whittaker felt that this trial isn't as simple as it seems, but he didn't feel any danger, at all, hence he started to pick up spirit flowers while wandering towards the summit of the mountain that was visible to his vision, but it was simply too far away. If he just walks then it will take some days...
