NOVEL NEXT Chapter 16: Winterfell
The man who brought the house of dragons to its destruction knew that with dragons back, the Targaryens would come back, and this war would be much more difficult than the rebellion. Robert got up from his seat.
"SILENCE, Varys, tell me everything you know about the Targaryens."
Varys P.O.V.
It's about time. King Robert wants to know everything about the Targaryens. It's a pity with what I know; there is not much hope for him. There are many lords who still call him a usurper and are waiting for the return of Targaryen.
He should have spent his time on the throne gaining the loyalty of the lords rather than whoring and drinking. The realm is about to bleed.
"Your Grace, As Lord Renly said, it's true that they have returned with their dragons. Currently Daeron Targaryen is leading his army to Pentos in order to stop Viserys from marrying Daenerys Targaryen to Khal Drogo."
My plans regarding Aegon and the Golden Company no longer seem feasible. All I hope now is that my letter reaches Illyrio before Daeron does; otherwise I fear that I would never be able to see my friend again.
"Lord Varys, All these years none of us had ever heard anything about Daeron Targaryen, and suddenly you tell us that the mad king's older brother had survived and his grandson has dragons and an army. Why did no one notice them in all these years?"
I could see Tyrion walking towards me; his question had got the attention of all the people in the hall, including the king himself.
Dwarf of Casterly Rock, despite being the most hated among the Lannister siblings. He sure is the smartest. Pity all your wits and smartness would be of no use against absolute power, and Targaryens have absolute power with their dragons.
"Well, I don't have exact information. But what my little birds tell me is that they were living in the southern part of Old Valyria."
I observed that all of them were confused, as even I thought the doom took all of Valyria.But the gods are cruel and merciful. Cruel to us and merciful to Targaryens. No one would have expected the circumstances.
"When the doom happened, the southernmost part of Valyria was unaffected. Daemon Targaryen, elder brother of the mad king, lived there, and he was able to access some of the Valyrian gold. He used it to buy slaves from Essos and resources secretly and had been training and preparing for his return, but it appears he couldn't live long enough to see his plans work."
This information was indeed shocking, and it appears as if the gods favor House Targaryen a lot.
I should tell them everything, and now I must observe Daeron to see if he is fit for the Iron Throne; then I may support him; otherwise, I could still use Aegon Targaryen, or I should say Aegon Blackfyre.
"Ned, I bring terrible news."
I saw Benjen Stark, the younger brother of Ned Stark, at the main entrance of the banquet hall along with three more men of the Night's Watch. What terrible news could he bring? Could it be the wildling has attacked the wall? Though I fear anyone would care about the matter of Nith's watch and Wildlings with Targaryens at the bay.

The attention of the room is now focused on Benjen. Everyone is wondering what could be worse than the news regarding the Targaryens. Cersei, in particular, wanted to be a part of the conversation.
"Lord Stark, please tell your brother that we have other matters to deal with right now rather than worrying about the matters of the wildlings."
Benjen gazed at the source of the voice and noticed Cersei walking towards the center of the hall along with Joffrey to the position where Robert is.
"Your Grace, If the threat was related to the wildlings, it would have been better, but I am afraid it's worse."

These northerners are a pain in the ass. Why did Father have us come to Winterfell? He could have summoned them to King's Landing and been done with it.
"You should bow first to your king, Ser."
These northerners have no manners. It should be expected of them. When I become king, I will put them in their place. Why is Father looking at me angrily?
"Shut up, boy. Benjen, what news do you bring? Be quick; we have other things to deal with right now."
Why is Father angry with me? What I said is true: He should have bowed to him and us. We are royalty much better than theirs, as Mother says.
"Your Grace, it's about the Targaryens."
Again Targaryens, Why are they being a pain in the ass for us now? What is it they have done now? Father walked straight to Benjen and looked at him with a serious face.
"What have those dragonspawn done now?"
Father is really angry. I felt a hand on my shoulder; I noticed it was my mother. But I don't have time to deal with her right now. I am the crown prince. I must give my wise advice to Father.
"Your Grace, Two weeks back, we had Princess Rhaenys Targaryen come to Castle Black along with a thousand trained men on her dragons. Somehow the Targaryens have hatched the dragons back.

The news regarding the dragons was no surprise to people in the room; Benjen noticed it as well, and he figured out that the king already knew something about the Targaryens and dragons. Cersei is surprised to hear the name of Rhaenys, as her father's men had killed her.
"If I remember correctly, Rhaenys Targaryen was killed during the sack of King's Landing seventeen years back, wasn't it?"
Ned was unable to hide his disgust as he remembered correctly how the royal children were presented in the throne room, wrapped in red clothes to hide their blood. Benjen saw the confused look on the queen's face. So he decided to shed some light on this.
"Your Grace, it appears the loyalist had managed to save Princess Rhaenys and Princess Elia. The only one who died was Prince Aegon."
This news sends shivers to the people in the hall. As if what Benjen says is true, then Dorne is a lost case.
Earlier neutrality could be expected from Dorne, but now the Dorneish spears are at the disposal of the Targaryens due to the presence of this mother-daughter duo. Varys, after learning this had a mini-heart attack, now his plans regarding Aegon are lost.
