Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 115: 115. Lin Xiaohan Joins

"Hahaha, welcome! It's great to have you here! From now on, the company's finances will be in your capable hands!" Jason Liu stepped out from behind his desk, gesturing for everyone to sit on the sofa.

This was the first official meeting of Sen Trading Company. Since Jiang Chuchu was the only member of the sales department, she was allowed to attend the meeting even though she wasn't a manager.

"Now that our company has recruited staff, it's time to start working!" Jason announced.

He turned to Oliver, the purchasing department manager. "Manager Oliver, your department will be responsible for purchasing a large quantity of goods soon, including gel pens, refills, A4 paper, soap, and some new products."

Oliver immediately pulled out a notebook and began notting down Jason's instructions.

1 million gel pens and 5 million gel refills.

5 million sheets of A4 paper and 1.5 million sheets of A3 paper.

1 million bars of soap, plus an additional 5 million smaller pieces of soap.

500,000 toothbrushes and 1 million tubes of toothpaste.

Oliver couldn't help but feel surprised. These were inexpensive goods, but purchasing such massive quantities at once was unprecedented. He wondered how Jason planned to sell them, especially since the economy wasn't in great shape this year. Still, he kept his doubts to himself. His job was to procure the goods—sales were the responsibility of the sales department.

"I have the contact details for our previous suppliers for pens, paper, and soap," Jason continued. "You can reach out to them directly. For toothbrushes and toothpaste, find a factory yourself. I only have two requirements: first, ensure the products are safe and won't harm anyone's health. Second, choose the cheapest options—brands don't matter."

Oliver nodded quickly. "Understood, Mr. Liu. I've noted everything down and will make sure it's handled properly."

"Good," Jason said, satisfied. "Also, look into large and medium-sized lumber mills for sale. If any are available, contact the owners and try to buy the whole mill. If none are on sale, figure out what machines are needed to set up a small lumber processing factory. Second-hand equipment is fine as long as it's functional."

Jason's plan was to transport freshly cut timber from Westeros and process it into lumber in the modern world.

"Got it," Oliver replied, diligently taking notes.

Jason turned to Lin Xiaohan. "Lin Xiaohan, work closely with the purchasing department to ensure there are enough funds for these purchases. If there's any shortage, contact me immediately."

Lin Xiaohan's expression was serious as she responded, "Understood, Mr. Liu. I'll coordinate with the purchasing department and allocate funds on time."

Next, Jason addressed Regina, the personnel and logistics manager. "Manager Regina, your responsibility is to oversee personnel and logistics management for the company."

Regina nodded firmly. "Leave it to me, Mr. Liu. I'll handle everything."

Meanwhile, Jiang Chuchu sat eagerly, waiting for Jason to assign her a task. With so many goods being purchased, there would undoubtedly be work for her in sales.

"Mr. Liu, what do you need me to do? Just let me know!" Jiang asked enthusiastically, her confidence and energy evident.

Jason glanced at her, careful to maintain his composure. "Jiang Chuchu, you and Lin Xiaohan will work together to contact the owner of the old factory building where our warehouse is currently located. Negotiate to lease the entire building, and then have it converted into several large storage warehouses."

He added, "For now, we'll lease it because funds are tight. Once we're in a better financial position, we'll buy the whole factory outright."

Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu exchanged glances and nodded. "Understood," they said in unison.

With the work assignments completed, Jason wrapped up the meeting. "One last thing," he said with a smile. "After work today, bring everyone from your departments. I'll treat you all to dinner to celebrate the company's official launch!"

The managers agreed enthusiastically. It would also be an opportunity for the employees to meet Jason Liu, the big boss.

As the others left the office, Jason asked Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu to stay behind.

"Lin Xiaohan, I'm surprised your parents agreed to let you quit your bank job and join this company. I thought they'd be against it!" Jason said, striking up a casual conversation.

Lin Xiaohan's cheeks flushed slightly. She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear and replied, "My parents are very supportive. They know this company is owned by a former classmate of mine, and since I'm the financial department manager, they trust me to make the right decision."

Jiang Chuchu smirked, rolling her eyes inwardly. Lin Xiaohan had told her earlier that her parents had given her a hard time about the decision, especially her mother, who had even hinted that she should try to get closer to Jason.

Jason sighed with relief. "I'm glad to hear that. Otherwise, I'd be worried they'd blame me for taking their daughter away from a stable job."

Jiang Chuchu couldn't resist teasing him. "Oh, don't relax just yet! Your uncle and aunt—I mean, Lin Xiaohan's parents—said they want to meet you. They're planning to inspect the company and see if their daughter's boss is reliable!"

Jason's eyes widened in disbelief. "What? Employees' parents inspecting the boss? That's a first!"

Lin Xiaohan glared at Jiang Chuchu, clearly embarrassed. Jiang Chuchu dodged her friend's playful swat and continued with a mischievous grin. "Why not? It's polite to visit your employee's parents, especially since you're classmates and now colleagues. You should bring a gift, too."

Jason scratched his head, looking bewildered. "Well, I guess it makes sense... What do you think, Lin Xiaohan?"

Lin Xiaohan's cheeks reddened further. She avoided his gaze and mumbled, "You can decide for yourself."
