Chapter 41: New Companions!
"My Lord, the treasure might lie within the bone pillar itself, or this very pillar could be the treasure we seek," suggested one of Damian's trusted advisors as they carefully examined the petrified structure, a remarkable sight of large white stone.
"Indeed, it seems plausible. Let us uncover its secrets by digging around the pillar," Damian responded, his eyes gleaming with curiosity and anticipation.
Following his command, Raymond swiftly summoned men to begin the excavation around the enigmatic bone pillar. With each shovel's dig, the excitement in the air grew palpable as they delved deeper into the ground, inching closer to the elusive treasure.
As the men diligently worked, Damian saw an opportunity to check on his space world. Seeking a moment of solitude, he stepped into a small tent perched on the hillside and entered the space world, a realm accessible only to him and to anyone he permitted.
Inside the space world, Damian was warmly greeted by Butler, a summon he had recruited from the system. Butler had fought during the battle at Blacktyde, he suffered injuries, including the loss of an arm. In recognition of his dedication, Damian had assigned summoned soldiers like Butler to serve as valuable assets within the space world, sparing them from further danger on the battlefield.
"Hello, Butler," Damian greeted with genuine appreciation, acknowledging the importance of his caretaker's role. "How have things been since we last spoke?"
Butler responded with a respectful nod, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. "Everything remains in order, my Lord. The space world has been tended to according to your instructions. We are cultivating more land and planting various fruit trees around the lake as well as introducing different types of fish in the lake."
Butler's update filled Damian with satisfaction, appreciating the progress being made in his space world. "Excellent work, Butler," he commended warmly, "Your efforts in cultivating the land and introducing various fruits and fish to the lake are invaluable. This will ensure we have a steady supply of food and resources within the space world."
Eager to witness the developments firsthand, Damian ventured out to observe the ongoing planting. As he surveyed the landscape, he couldn't help but admire the transformation taking place. Large areas around the mansion had been cleared and readied for cultivation, preparing the ground for grains and staple foods like rice.
Along the edges of the serene lake, an array of fruit plants had been meticulously planted. Damian's eyes lit up as he noticed that many of his favourite fruits had been given priority, with mangoes taking the lead, followed closely by Watermelons, Bananas, Kiwis and Oranges.
"The king of fruits indeed," Damian chuckled, gesturing toward the abundant mango trees.
With the continued development of the space world, Damian knew that the abundance of resources and the thriving cultivation would not only provide sustenance but also contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of the land that he chooses to inhabit in the future. The space world had become more than just a place of refuge for summoned soldiers and him.
Finally, Damian walked back to the mansion and opened the system's panel. It was finally time to purchase a new animal that he could turn into his companion other than Ace, the Falcon.
With the increase in his magic and Warging level, Damian was confident of taming two other animals without feeling any burden on his mind.
As Damian stepped back into the mansion, a sense of excitement and anticipation surged within him. It was finally time to explore the possibilities offered by the system and acquire new animal companions. With his heightened magic and Warging abilities, he felt confident in his capacity to form bonds with not just one, but two other animals.
With a determined focus, Damian opened the system's panel, revealing a plethora of options before him. Various creatures, both mundane and fantastical, were available for him to choose from. He carefully scrolled through the list, considering the traits and potential of each creature.
After much contemplation, Damian decided to bond with a Direwolf and a loyal horse. The Direwolf, known for its fierce loyalty and strength, appealed to his instincts as a Stark. Its pack ferocity, mentality and keen senses made it a formidable ally in any battle. Not to mention that they grew up to four to five times the size of normal wolves.
As for the horse, Damian recognized the strategic advantage it offered in terms of mobility and speed. A trusty steed that he could control would not only aid him in swift travel but also provide an invaluable asset on an open battlefield.
With his choices made, Damian completed the necessary processes in the system to recruit the Direwolf and Horse as his companions. The two animals were summoned together.
With a sense of excitement and determination, Damian took a step closer to the majestic Direwolf, its powerful presence emanating a mix of strength and intelligence. The wolf's dark fur glistened under the radiant light of the space world, its eyes fixated on Damian, almost as if it sensed the unspoken bond that was about to form.
As Damian reached out his hand, the Direwolf didn't show any signs of hostility. Instead, it seemed to acknowledge his presence with a sense of curiosity and acceptance. Encouraged by this response, Damian closed his eyes, focusing his mind on the connection he wished to establish.
Drawing upon his Warging abilities, Damian began to merge his consciousness with that of the Direwolf. The process felt smoother in the space world, and the wolf's consciousness greeted his with a surprising level of ease. It was as if they were destined to become one, their spirits entwining seamlessly.
Within moments, Damian found himself viewing the world through the Direwolf's eyes, experiencing its heightened senses and heightened instincts. The wolf's speed, agility, and heightened awareness were at his disposal, making him feel invigorated and empowered.
Its piercing red eyes gazed at Damian with an intelligence that spoke of a deep connection between man and beast. Damian could feel the power and loyalty emanating from the majestic creature, and he knew that he had made the right choice.
As Damian established a connection with the loyal horse, he sensed the subtle differences compared to the Direwolf. While it took a bit more effort, Damian's effort and experience as a Warg allowed him to form a bond with the beautiful chestnut-coated steed.
With each attempt, Damian felt their spirits drawing closer, aligning in harmony. The horse's heartbeats resonated within Damian's mind, a rhythmic and reassuring sound that affirmed their growing connection. He could feel the horse's trust in him, and it warmed his heart to know that the creature had accepted him as its companion.
As Damian stroked the horse's chestnut mane, a sense of mutual understanding passed between them. The horse nuzzled against him, responding to Damian's affection with its own display of loyalty. The bond he shared with his companions was unique, a silent language that transcended words.
Emerging from the connection, Damian felt an indescribable sense of unity with his newfound companions. He could sense their loyalty and trust as if an unbreakable bond had been woven between them.
"Welcome to the team," Damian spoke with a smile, acknowledging the Direwolf and horse as his comrades.
