Game of Thrones: Lord of the Seven Seas

Chapter 23: Knights and Treasure Map

Damian then used the Special Free point to increase his Warg level to two. He should now be able to better control his companion and be least affected by their connection.

The increase in Warging level also made it possible for him to deepen the connection between his bond and share some traits with each other or benefit in other ways. For example, Damian eyesight might improve and sharpen due to his bond with a Falcon or he could become more agile in the coming future.

His falcon, Ace may see some improvement in his intelligence and body growth. In future, Ace might grow big enough so that he can carry a person on his back. Now at Level 2 Warging, Damian might be able to keep his connection with his bond mentally and command the bird to do things for him even if he is far away, with a single thought.

Damian looked at the next reward which was 3 Elite Knight Summon tokens. Another great reward as it cost at least a hundred Gold Dragons for a single elite Knight summons from the system. Elite is the keyword.

An Elite Knight was someone who was well-versed with at least two or more weapons like sword, hammer, axe, etc and had mastered one weapon skill to an advanced level. They are also good at horse riding and have one or more basic stat above or at fifteen.

Damian immediately used the tokens to summon his loyal knights.

With bright flashes, three armoured Knights appeared in front of him and the former knelt on one knee to show subservience to him. They were accompanied by three horses which were good as Damian will not have to provide for his knights.

'I guess being a Knight compels them to follow proper etiquette. Knights are also known as half nobles.' Damian couldn't help but think upon seeing them showing such respect to him.

'Huh? Is that a... woman?' Damian was dumbfounded when his eyes fell on one of the Knights who had long dark hair and a slim, wavy figure.

When the three Knights raised their heads together, Damian saw his guess becoming true. One of the knights was a tall woman and she had a broadsword at her hips. The other two knights were definitely male, with short blonde and black hair and rough faces. Both were tall and had broad shoulders with the blonde-haired being more stockier than the black-haired Knight. The blonde-haired Knight had a Great Sword and the black-haired Knight had a two-handed axe as his weapon.

As Damian got the summon tokens as a reward, he could not choose what their gender would be or ethnicity. It was all random.

"Rise, all of you. Tell me your name, if you have one. If not, I shall give one to each of you in a short while." Damian said.

"Raymond," said the Blonde-haired Knight with a salute.

"Selena is my name, My Lord," the pretty female Knight followed after and gave him a small bow.

"I go by the name, Arsen," The strong and gruff-looking black-haired Knight said aloud, beating his chest proudly.

'Good, they speak the common tongue. Now how should I bring them to the real world,' Damian thought hard for some time before he decided on a plan.

Damian gave them instructions on how to introduce themselves to others and the plan by which they will join his group in the real world without attracting suspicion.

As for how they fared against other Westrosi knights, well he could only know after he sees them in a battle.

After finishing talking with the Knights and getting over the novelty of seeing a female knight and what it would mean for having one follow him around in Westeros. The southern lords would definitely make ugly faces when he introduces the female Knight to them.

'What kind of scene would be?' Damian clicked his tongue in wonder.

The last reward other than the money that remained was Random Treasure Map.

Damian quickly went through its description to understand it.

Random Treasure Map was as its name suggested, a random Map that had one or more markings of treasure in an area that was forgotten by others. It could be anything from a chest filled with gold, silver or diamonds or a Valyrian Sword or some legendary item. The treasure could be a Dragon egg, steel weapons or some forgotten tome that reveals some past history, a big secret or sharing knowledge about magical spells or rituals. It could be anything that one can consider as a treasure in the world of Planetos.

Damian went for it and used the Random Treasure Map token to obtain a treasure map.

With a flash of light, a scroll appeared in Damian's hand which he immediately unfurled to see its content.

The map showed a group of islands which Damian recognised as the Iron Islands. There were three markings on it. One marking was on Old Wyk, another on a small island near the Lonely Light and the last marking was somewhere on the Island of Harlaw, north of Volmark Castle.

"How convenient! It looks like this war is going to become a treasure hunt for me. I hope it's something good." Damian kept the Map away and opened the recruitment option.

Now was a great time to use the money he got as a reward to increase the size of his troop.

He used up 1420 Golden Coins to summon an elite squad of seventy-one well-trained foot soldiers, who had mastery with sword and shield, with the extra experience of having group and sea battles. Each man cost him twenty Golden Dragons, five more than the Archers cost but they were worth it since they were disciplined and well-trained to handle most of the situation.

One-on-one they might not be able to beat a Knight but together in a group, they could defeat an undisciplined army that was three times its size in an open battlefield. They moved and fought much like the famed unsullied and their loyalty to Damian made them fearless in battle (as long as they are paid on time).
