Game Of Thrones: House Bracken

Chapter 36: The Wedding(1)

And like that, a week passed quickly. I spent my time socialising with Margaery, Sansa and Olenna.

Sansa had become extremely comfortable with me as of late, and perhaps even more endowed by me than previously.

But I didn´t restrict my social circle to that alone, I had also found a new target of manipulation, Prince Tommen Baratheon.

I had always been friendly with him, and tried to appear as his role-model.

But as of yet, as he grew up. I found myself repeatedly entertaining full on conversations with the Young Prince, and he was surprisingly adept, taking in my knowledge as a sponge.

However, back to the situation at hand.

I was sitting on a round table, alongside the few Riverlander Lords that had come down to Kings Landing, House Mallister, House Vance and House Mooton, the strongest and wealthiest Houses in the Riverlands, after me.

House Mooton were the Lords of Maidenpool, a prosperous down in the Bay of Crabs, but it was just that, prosperous. House Mooton had a reputation of extremely bad Military discipline, resulting in defeat after defeat, even against Pirates.

Which led them to rely upon other navies, but now that the Quiet Isle had been turned into a military base, it stopped all pirates from raiding the rivers, which had ushered into a period of golden age in Maidenpool, Lord William Mooton.

However, our small musings and conversations were halted, as one of the more powerful men at this gathering stood up, or more so the "face" of the most powerful host at this gathering.

For Mace Tyrell was nothing short of a mascot, a terrible buffoon and dumb mascot, being ruled and used by his mother, whom even dared to dismiss him in public, which was a feat no mothers were usually capable of.

And the buffoon was making his way away from his royal seat alongside King Joffrey Baratheon, Prince Tommen, Lord Hand Tywin Lannister, Lady Margaery, Lady Olenna and Lady Sansa.

And let's not forget our dear dwarf, Tyrion Lannister.

Either way, I listened in as he spoke up, his voice clear and loud enough for all the hear, likely by his design, or his mothers.

"On House Tyrell, and the people of the reach. Your Grace, it is my honour to present you with this wedding cup." He said, as he put the large cup down.

"May you and my daughter Margaery, drink deep and live long." He said, and Joffrey responded.

"A handsome gullet, My Lord. Or shall I say Father?" Joffrey responded, though I wondered whereas his usual behaviour had went, perhaps Margaery had some influence over him.

Everyone could see the man's entire expression and body, perhaps even aura light up, as if by divine intervention itself.

"I should be honoured, Your Grace." He said, before retreating back to his seat.

"I´m surprised he didn´t refer to King Joffrey as ´Son`" Lord Jason Mallister said, and I smiled.

"Aye, it would be a blunder his brain would be capable of." I said, and the 3 other Lords laughed slightly, but at that time. I looked towards one of my servants, and nodded. Which was the que for him to bring my gift to King Joffrey.

And with that, I stood up. And made my way towards The Royal Seating.

"Your Grace," I said as I bowed slightly, all the while making my way up towards King Joffrey.

"Lord Bracken." He said, and I smiled.

I looked to my side, to see my servant bringing my gift towards us.

"Your Grace, as a King, a ruler and the most powerful man in the Seven Kingdoms, I only felt it right for said individual, to ride the strongest mount." I said, as my horse came into view. And somehow, Joffrey was sort of happy, grinning.

I don't know if it's out of actually joy of owning a horse its size and beauty, or he wanted to torture it.

The Horse was white, it was large, larger than the average horse and it carried itself with grace and discipline, even through it's apparent muscles.

"This Horse Breed is second to none, it was said that the founder of House Bracken, came upon a gigantic horse, and he won great battles with the horse, it even saved his life multiple times, why our banner is what it is." I said, as Joffrey stared at me in anticipation.

"This is apart of the horse's kin, a horse breed usually only serving Bracken Dynasty, and it has served us well, there is only 4 horses of it's kind left, and this is the second largest one." I said, and even Tywin and Olenna looked interested, the history of House Bracken and it's origins weren't well known, and was kept a secret.

"And I shall hope it will serve you well, King Joffrey, and that the gift is sufficient for your marriage." I said, ending my speech. And Joffrey seemed to know some sort of etiquette.

"Of course, My Lord. A Horse of its majestic stature and legacy is more than worthy of a gift, I shall ride this horse into Battle." Joffrey said, as he walked up to the Horse, and surprisingly began clapping it, and getting a feel for the horse.

And at the same time, I turned towards Cersei and Tywin.

"I know Joffrey... have certain pleasures regarding animals, as I am sure you're aware. And if any damage is to come to this horse, the symbol of our strength. Then our longterm alliance will come to an end." I whispered, but Olenna, Sansa, Margaery and Tyrion heard it as well.

"Of course, Lord Alexander. We wouldn't dare let any accidents befall this majestic horse." Tywin said, and I nodded. Before turning to Joffrey.

"What will you name him?" I asked Joffrey, and he turned towards his horse, staring it into its eyes.

"I will call it the White Blood, for it will be covered in the blood of our enemies, in due time." Joffrey said, proud of his name. And the crowd responded, clapping for him.

And with that, I nodded for my servant to take my horse away, and he complied as I went back to my seat.

Now, the idle threat I made towards Cersei and Tywin, was nothing but that, idle. I had no intention of breaking such a profitable marriage over a horse, although it would lower my standing with House Lannister.

I rode the oldest, stronger and smartest of the 4 horses, and mine was red. And she was just named that, Red. And she had served me long and dutifully, and I would make sure her children were not tortured, so long I could.

But I also knew Joffrey would be assassinated soon enough, though I am unsure of whether Olenna would participate or not, I was certain Littlefinger would act in the same regard either way, for he wanted chaos, and a single woman wouldn´t halter his progress.

However, with that. I spotted Tywin Lannister head towards Joffrey, and he had grabbed a sword from one of his servants, the infamous Widows Wail.
