Chapter 12: Chapter-12
Hearing Merlin's promise, not only Gwen, but also the seductively dressed girl was even more confused. She stood on the side of the street and watched the two young lovers pass by. She had just wanted to tease them casually, but she didn't expect the boy to actually agree.
"This is the money. My home is up there. Come with me," Merlin said, taking out thirty dollars and handing it to the girl, who was still a little dazed. He then began walking towards Wall's apartment.
"Hey, Merlin, do you know what you are doing?" Gwen finally reacted when she saw Merlin giving money, and anxiously chased after him.
"I know, thirty dollars a time is not very expensive," Merlin replied, looking at the anxious Gwen. A smile flashed in his eyes, but he didn't explain further.
The girl looked at the thirty dollars in her hand, thought of Merlin's handsome, boyish face, licked her lips excitedly, and quickly followed.
For such a young boy, even if she returns the money, she won't lose anything. She didn't expect that she would get an unexpected gain today...
"You know...!" Gwen suddenly became angry. Looking at Merlin with a dull expression, she didn't know what to say for a moment.
All the way back home, Gwen watched Merlin bring the girl into his room, then returned to her own home angrily and slammed the door.
"Gwen, what's wrong? Are you so angry?" Mrs. Stacy, who was sitting in the living room, was a little surprised when she saw her daughter slamming the door in anger.
"I think you'd better go to Merlin's house and take a look," Gwen said, crossing her arms and curling her lips.
"Merlin? What's wrong with him?" Mrs. Stacy was stunned when she heard this. Although Merlin was a bit lonely in her heart, he was also a strong and sensible child.
"He...he brought a girl home from the street."
"What? Oh my god, is it true?" Upon hearing this, Mrs. Stacy sat up in shock.
"Come on, handsome boy, I will definitely make you feel comfortable." As soon as she entered the door, the girl squatted down and approached Merlin with watery eyes.
His hands were already stretched out impatiently.
"I know you are very angry at your age. Let me help you calm down first."
"Compared to your little girlfriend, I can pose in any position and I will definitely let you feel the pleasure of ascending to heaven."
"Wait a minute, wait a minute, can you really do anything?" Merlin looked at the girl who almost wanted to eat him, and quickly stretched out his hand to stop her.
"Of course, as long as it's not very perverted, I can bear it." The girl gave him a seductive look, but she didn't expect that this handsome boy was still an interesting person.
"That's good!"
But when the girl saw what Merlin wanted her to do, she immediately felt numb. Is this what people can think about?
...
............
...............
"Oh, shit, this is too much!"
"Can't you do everything?"
"I mean, I can do anything, but what you asked me to do..." The girl's voice from the room sounded both hesitant and perplexed.
Mrs. Stacey and Gwen, who were outside the door, immediately widened their eyes upon hearing what was being said inside.
"Bang bang bang!!!"
"Merlin, open the door!" Mrs. Stacey knocked quickly. She didn't object to Merlin's relationships, but she wanted him to have a normal, healthy one, not just pick someone up off the street. What if he got sick?
"Coming!"
Soon, Merlin opened the door, looking at the dark-faced Mrs. Stacey with confusion.
"Gwen told me everything!" Mrs. Stacey took a deep breath and tried to remain calm. "Listen, kid, I understand about puberty, but don't ever touch it."
"What are you talking about?" Merlin asked, opening the door to reveal the situation inside the room.
"The three of us had a barbecue on the balcony yesterday and left a lot of plates in the sink that we hadn't had time to wash. She said she could do anything for only thirty dollars," he explained.
In the room, the girl wore an apron with a depressed look on her face, complaining as she worked.
"Oh my god, can't you put some dish soap in the water and soak it? It'll harden even if it gets on the edge of the bowl, making it difficult to clean," she grumbled. "I'm really unlucky today to have something like this happen to me. I'm so stupid. This guy already has a girlfriend. How could he like me? This is a scam!"
Gwen: "..."
Mrs. Stacey: "......"
Gwen looked at the smile in Merlin's eyes and realized she had been fooled. Although it was different from what she expected, her anger flared. If she wasn't afraid of accidentally hurting Merlin, she would have let him taste her fist.
Mrs. Stacey looked at her daughter's embarrassed and angry expression and seemed to understand what was going on.
"Okay, just be more careful next time. Let me handle this if it happens again." She shook her head in amusement, then left.
Gwen stayed behind, beginning to criticize Merlin.
Meanwhile, the girl muttered, "No one speaks up for me?"
If you're doing housekeeping on a door-to-door basis, thirty dollars a time is definitely not enough. But if you're just washing dishes, it's a reasonable rate.
Seeing the two high school students bickering and play-fighting on the sofa, she complained silently and continued to wash the dishes with a scowl.
"Let's take a look at this, the experimental algorithm Peter sent me." After the two argued for a while, Merlin pulled Gwen over to check the email sent by Peter on his laptop.
Merlin wasn't lying; he did have something important to discuss. Gwen was much better at biological research than he was, and she was also an intern under Professor Connors.
Peter had reached out to Merlin because, during a conversation, Merlin had mentioned something related to the calculation of the decay rate in cross-species genetic experiments. Merlin had been hinting at Peter's potential as the future Spider-Man.
"Peter sent it to you?" Gwen was a little surprised but then focused on checking the data in the notebook.
Soon, her brows furrowed.
"Lizard regeneration gene? Isn't this Professor Connors' research project?"
For some reason, she suddenly thought of the lizard man who had appeared at the convention center the previous night.
"Yeah, it looks like Peter is involved in the project, and that's what we were talking about this morning."
"Because the decay rate during the experiment was too fast, the success rate of the experiment also decreased rapidly, triggering a series of unknown concurrent situations."
"There should be some problem with the algorithm."
Gwen slid the mouse to enlarge the experimental data and examined it carefully.
For some reason, since she gained the power of a spider, she has become more and more proficient in studying biological genes.
After seeing the experimental data, she quickly found the problem.
Determining the issue, she skillfully found paper and pen from Merlin's room and began writing.
"Swiss, swiss, swish..." The pen tip kept rubbing on the blank notebook, and soon, a series of concise formulas appeared on the paper.
After correcting a few times, she quickly went to Merlin's side, took the notebook, and started typing in the corrected formulas.
"Try it out sometime. This algorithm should work."
