Chapter 649: 635 reinforcements arrived

Barbaro had to communicate with the Iridium Star Fleet every few hours, holding the device Bai Zhongqi gave him to contact the Iridium Star side. Based on the principles of quantum communication, communication could only occur when both parties held the same set of paired keys; without such an exchange, communication was impossible. Thus, quantum communication inherently had the characteristic of being a closed loop.

The diplomats on the side of the Iridium Star Fleet could hardly stand to answer all of his "calls", but they still told Barbaro that the Iridium Star Fleet would arrive at Juhe Star in a few days.

Having obtained a definite time, Barbaro could temporarily relax. He also stopped boasting about the strength of Iridium Star in the Snow Dragon Alliance, as that would only bring humiliation upon himself.

The generals and diplomats of the Snow Dragon Alliance held a scheduled meeting to discuss the response to the Spiral Mosquito invasion.

Di Maquan, the general of the Light Valley Civilization, spoke with a grave expression, "The situation is quite serious. Although the Spiral Mosquitoes have not launched any military actions recently, four Spiral Mosquito fleets have separately completed the annexation of three civilizations. Now, billions of members of these civilizations have been slaughtered, their planets bombed and transformed to become inhospitable. It is not yet clear what the next target of the Spiral Mosquito Civilization is, but we must act before they strike the next victim civilization, and achieve a decisive victory against the Spiral Mosquito invasion."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a chilling silence fell upon the room. Millions of diplomats and generals, in their hearts, were not optimistic about the Snow Dragon Alliance achieving victory.

The Klaren Civilization, which had the highest level of technology, had launched a war against the Spiral Mosquitos a few months ago with the mentality of teaching the invaders a lesson. Before the war, the Klarens' rhetoric was high, even declaring publicly to other civilizations, "Just watch how we, the Klaren Civilization, punish these blind Geng district natives."

As a result, the Klaren Civilization fleet blithely approached the scene and initially struggled to overcome the Spiral Mosquito fleet that numbered only one-tenth of their own. Eventually, they were ambushed by arriving Spiral Mosquito reinforcements, and even a son of the Klaren chieftain died in this battle, a complete slap in the face.

At this time, An Kui of the Lusong Civilization could not resist mocking Barbaro, who claimed he had brought powerful allies to the Snow Dragon Alliance, laughing, "Perhaps we can wait for the mighty backup the Steel Ancient Civilization has found to take care of these Spiral Mosquito people for us."

A burst of laughter, some good-natured and some not, filled the room, turning Barbaro's face red, leaving him speechless. He knew that speaking now was useless and could only wait for Xu Lanzhou's fleet to arrive.

Di Maquan still spoke up fairly, "There's no need for that. The Steel Ancient Civilization has already sent their main battle ships to the alliance fleet. The contribution of the Steel Ancient Civilization to the Snow Dragon Galaxy is certainly commendable."

An Kui, however, still did not accept this view, saying, "Their Steel Ancient Civilization's territory lies at the intersection of two Spiral Mosquito-controlled regions and is very likely their next target. If they didn't do this, they would probably face extinction."

Barbaro couldn't afford to be soft at this moment; he slammed the table forcefully, and the iron armor on his palm even left a mark on the table reinforced with strengthening material. "Lusong people, what are you mumbling about? The Steel Ancient Civilization is not to be trifled with."

Just as the two sides were about to come to blows in the meeting, Di Maquan suddenly received a defense unit's alert.

"General, we've detected large-scale warp signatures; a sizable fleet is approaching Juhe Star."

Upon hearing this, Di Maquan's eyes landed on a Steel Ancient person.

Barbaro's face lit up with ecstatic fear, but he did not express his stance outright. He was somewhat afraid and would not feel at ease until he could fully confirm the arrival of the Iridium Star people's fleet.

The other civilization representatives became highly alarmed, with someone immediately suggesting, "Could it be a fleet sent by the Spiral Mosquito people?"

Di Maquan shook his head, "All four fleets of the Spiral Mosquito people are within our surveillance, it's not them."

He turned on the video feed, and several massive Warp Bubbles began to reveal their silhouettes as warships detached from them, one after another. The design of these warships bore no resemblance to any civilization within the Snow Dragon Galaxy. They were sleek and full of tension, especially with an enigmatic, brilliant light flowing along their hulls, which made one wonder what the function of that light could possibly be.

It was then that Barbaro finally stood up, expressing his delight, "This is the Iridium Star United Empire's Fleet! I've seen it at Nuoye Star. Leading this fleet is General Xu Lanzhou, one of the twelve most revered and powerful Knights of the Iridium Star Chancellor."

Di Maquan nodded his head.

On the other hand, An Kui's expression turned particularly sour as he forced himself to say, "The General should be cautious; no one truly knows what these so-called Iridium Star people are aiming for."

Di Maquan didn't respond to An Kui; he had no desire to meddle in the strife between the people of Lusong and the Steel Ancient nor did he want it to interfere with the Snow Dragon Alliance's plans for self-rescue and anti-invasion efforts.

"Connect me to the public communication channel."

Unlike quantum communications, the traditional electromagnetic wave communication was generally adopted by various civilizations for contact purposes. However, if the distance was too great there would be little to no immediacy, making it more suited for greetings and conversations after close approach.

"Hello, I am Di Maquan, the Military Commander of the Snow Dragon Alliance. May I inquire if this is General Xu Lanzhou of the Iridium Star United Empire, coming forth with your forces to discuss important strategies with our Snow Dragon Alliance?"

The communication seemed to pause for a few seconds before Xu Lanzhou's voice came through, "General Di Maquan, hello, I am Xu Lanzhou. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Xu Lanzhou was still as reticent as ever.

Di Maquan breathed a sigh of relief, his gaze toward this fleet becoming even more eager. Although he still could not guess the technological level of this fleet, the fact that their Warp Speed radar only picked up the fleet when they were about to reach Juhe Star showed that this fleet was definitely no less formidable than those of the Light Valley and Klaren civilizations.

At this moment, Barbaro's entire demeanor had changed—he seemed to grow an additional two meters eight in stature, his voice rising, "The Empire Army of the Iridium Star United Empire possesses tremendous military strength. This is just one of their fleets dispatched to the Snow Dragon Galaxy, comprising over a thousand warships. They have three more fleets guarding the passages into Zone C from the Spiral Mosquito incursions. With their help, our confrontation with the Spiral Mosquito people is bound to be a resounding success."

He didn't mention his own merit, but as he spoke, his eyes kept darting towards An Kui, who looked visibly upset. The underlying message was clear: If the Snow Dragon Alliance truly emerged victorious, the Iridium Star's assistance would be instrumental, and as the diplomat who brokered this aid from Iridium Star, he would be the most meritorious person within the Snow Dragon Alliance.

Conversely, people like An Kui, who hadn't contributed much to the fleet and were spreading rumors within the alliance, were nothing but jesters.
