Chapter 363: Rough man 354

Ling roughly counted and said, "There are a total of 4,356 life support containers, and most of the energy and other supplies on this ship are provided to this cluster of life support containers. This spacecraft doesn't seem like any scientific research or exploration spacecraft, and it definitely isn't a warship or engineering ship, rather—"

"It's like an escape spacecraft," Bai Zhongqi picked up the thread.

Ling nodded.

The two left the eerie, vast room and eventually arrived at the room shown as green on the map.

Ling stretched out his hand to continue prying the door open with brute force, but found that the room's automatic door was still operational and had already opened automatically.

Unlike the other cabins they had just seen, this room was filled with green, bursting with life. Several rows of vine racks, much like grape trellises, held glass containers with pale yellow culture fluid in which grew a variety of crops that looked quite similar to those on Earth. Some of them had already borne fruit which seemed quite delightful.

Of course, these were not the most eye-catching things. The most striking was a middle-aged man with curly brown hair and a dense beard, dressed in rugged clothes, humming an unknown tune. He was sitting under the vine racks, picking what looked like radishes from the stems and leaves.

Bai Zhongqi's hand tightly gripped his gun, his alertness was on MAX.

Ling also had a frosty expression, clearly more inclined to fight. Her gun barrel was lowered, but her legs were slightly bent, like a female leopard ready to attack at any moment.

The rough-looking man wiped his hands on his dungaree straps and finally looked over at Bai Zhongqi and Ling. Bai Zhongqi looked at his face, rough and plain beyond measure, yet his eyes were so clear and sincere, it felt exceedingly honest.

The man's appearance was coarse and simple, but when Bai Zhongqi and Ling looked into his clear eyes, it felt like a ripple on a calm lake, mesmerizing and gentle. His gaze seemed to possess a unique magic, inadvertently drawing one into this mysterious environment.

Bai Zhongqi suddenly snapped out of it, pulling at Ling who seemed a bit lost as well.

"This guy is trouble," he muttered.

Ling also came to her senses, looking at the man with an even more guarded expression.

The rugged man saw Bai Zhongqi and Ling break free from that special allure, and seemed even happier, his smile as pure as a child's, creating a peculiar dissonance yet somehow compelling belief.

The rugged man raised the radish-like fruit in his hand, seemingly wanting to offer it to Bai Zhongqi and Ling.

Even on Earth, mothers tell their children not to eat things offered by strangers. On a mysterious spacecraft, encountering a strange uncle offering alien plant fruit, only a fool would accept it.

Seeing that neither Bai Zhongqi nor Ling had any intention of taking the "radish," the strange uncle's smile slightly faded, and then Bai Zhongqi "heard" a voice speaking.

"This is our local Wasu, it's quite sweet and refreshing, you might want to try it."

Bai Zhongqi was shocked, he clearly didn't see the rugged man speak, yet he still heard his voice, and it was in Mandarin, which he could understand.

At this time, Zero had already figured it out, she subtly positioned herself behind Bai Zhongqi and said to him, "Your Majesty, he is a Star Warrior, and a very strong one at that."

Before boarding the ship, Zero had mentioned that there wouldn't be any risk, certainly no Star Warrior master. Yet, in this eerie greenhouse on the spacecraft, they indeed encountered a Star Warrior master.

"Star Warrior, huh? Your civilization calls my kind by that name, interesting," the rugged man slowly stood up, took a bite of the Wasu radish, juice flowing everywhere; it indeed looked quite appetizing.

Bai Zhongqi asked, "Why can you understand and respond to our language without moving your lips?"

The rugged man replied, "This is my ability, I can directly understand your thoughts by sensing your emotional fluctuations and brain waves, language is meaningless to me, I don't need words to communicate."

Zero herself did not possess such an ability, and she had no brainwaves. Although Star Warriors controlled the same Star Energy, the ways and effects of utilizing it varied greatly. The rugged man in front of them possessed astonishing power in psychic abilities.

Bai Zhongqi realized, his implication was that, in front of him, whatever he thought was ineffective because he would know it all.

Nibbling on the radish, the rugged man curiously asked, "You two, are you humans? I can feel your bodies are somewhat similar to humans, yet you lack real brainwaves, you communicate through a special kind of wave, which I can also sense."

Bai Zhongqi was even more astonished, he and Zero were now Agents, controlled by quantum signals. Quantum signals were absolutely secretive, impossible to decode without the same key, yet this rugged man was able to sense quantum signals and infer their meanings.

"I can feel that if this strange wave is blocked, you would be doomed, though I am not sure if you would truly be doomed. You are not actually your real bodies, but more like human-like robots, right?" The rugged man's wisdom was clearly terrifying, even with a huge knowledge gap, his deductions were still very close to reality.

Bai Zhongqi felt a chill run down his spine, even though losing these two Agents wasn't much for him, facing such a mysterious figure was still an extraordinary event.

This was the first time he heard that quantum signals could be blocked or even decoded. He could fully appreciate what significant role this ability could play in interstellar civilization. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire

Since Agents didn't really think, in this way, Bai Zhongqi was spared from the rugged man's prying into his thoughts. He stepped forward, put down his gun, and introduced himself, "We come from the Iridium Star Earth civilization, my name is Bai Zhongqi, how may I address you, friend?"

The rugged man seemed very interested in conversing with a human, and said, "It's been a long while since I've had a conversation like this, even before now, I remember the ancestries of everyone on the ship, it's completely familiar. Haha, nice to meet you, Mr. Bai Zhongqi, my name is Hu, pleased to meet you."

"Mr. Hu, it seems you have lived on this ship for a long time, could you tell us your story?"

Hu's expression changed slightly, his eyes glazed over, lost in thought.
