Chapter 361: 352 Spike Ship

Bai Zhongqi not only crafted multiple agents for himself but even made one for Zero. The Chancellor, for some unknown whimsical reason, provided the curvaceous and fiery Zero with an agent that completely lacked curves, resembling a flat-chested girl.

Blinking her eyes, Zero slyly countered the Chancellor, "Your Majesty, so this is your taste."

Pretending not to understand, Bai Zhongqi coughed and said, "Alright, let's drop the pointless talk and get ready to depart."

Zero didn't have brainwaves per se, but she was able to write her code into the core program of this agent and remotely control it.

Like Bai Zhongqi controlling his agents, his physical body wasn't able to move, but Zero, a life form combining artificial intelligence and bionic humans, could use her physical body while simultaneously controlling an agent.

"Is it just the two of us deploying?" Zero asked.

Bai Zhongqi smiled and nodded, "Yes, let's also test the capabilities of the agent."

"Then I shall do as you wish."

The agent model was something the Iridium Star people had developed quite early on. Initially, it was used to control ordinary metal robots to fight on battlefields, a technology that has continuously evolved until now to the immersion of complete consciousness, creating super soldiers with enhanced bionic bodies.

While bionic humans were sufficient to execute tasks in most fields, specific areas still required human subjective perception and more creative response capacities. The universe was a dangerous place, so agents were the best solution to ensure personnel safety while performing risky tasks.

Bai Zhongqi entered deep sleep, projecting his consciousness onto his agent. It wasn't Bai Zhongqi's first experiment with agents. Due to certain discrepancies between bodily cognition and his physical self, Bai Zhongqi still displayed some discomfort. However, with the help of assisting programs, he quickly got the hang of this new body.

Zero, on the other hand, faced no issues with this "body swap," though she did look somewhat disdainfully at the agent's chest area.

"We'll board the Spike Ship for the ship boarding." Bai Zhongqi made the arrangements.

In fact, such situations were listed in the Universe Army's operations manual, which also included detailed steps when encountering suspected Ghost Ships.

The Spike Ship wasn't exactly a real ship; calling it a rocket might be more accurate. It had the capacity to carry 9-12 persons and possessed basic propulsion. Its true purpose was for ship boarding combat. Once a spike ship breached an enemy ship's shield, spiked at high speed and penetration, it lodged directly into the enemy vessel. A drill would bore a large hole, then open to allow crew members to burst in and engage the enemy in close combat.

The design of the Spike Ship was exceedingly ingenious; even capable of automatically docking with the enemy ship's hull and adjusting the air and pressure inside the ship, thus preventing the internal environment of the enemy ship from being compromised.

After Bai Zhongqi and Zero boarded the Spike Ship, the Sacred Falcon launched them. This unknown ship, only a little over two hundred meters in length, was clearly technologically inferior as evident from its distinct cladding structure. Zero had completed a thorough scan; the ship had no shields, allowing the Spike Ship to drill in easily.

As the Spike Ship, sporting a large drill, approached the unknown spacecraft, the drill began to spin at high speed, even starting to disperse powerful energy particles. The Spike Ship was able to penetrate the hull of the spacecraft not only because of its drill structure but also due to the high penetration of its high-energy surface layer that was released.

With a clang, the Spike Ship penetrated the hull of the unknown spacecraft as if it were piercing through a thin layer of tin foil. The Spike Ship immediately isolated the inside of the spacecraft from outer space with a barrier field.

"Hmm, there is oxygen inside the ship, though the concentration is a bit low, around fifteen to sixteen percent," Bai Zhongqi said, checking the readings inside the crew cabin of the Spike Ship.

Ling, upon hearing this, stepped out directly from the cabin door. She carried a compound Gauss rifle and stylishly flicked it, causing the parts on the rifle to automatically reassemble themselves like Transformers, transforming into an especially sleek and fierce-looking rifle. This was merely a standard Iridium Star automatic light weapon, capable of switching among multiple attack modes. She had just activated the close combat mode, but the weapon could also switch to long-range sniping mode and firepower suppression mode.

The lighting in the corridors of the ship was not very strong and was even quite dim, similar to emergency lights. The interior of the ship, like its exterior, lacked technical content, making Bai Zhongqi feel that this civilization's level of technology might not be much better than Earth's.

"We are using Agents, half bionic cells and half various metals and composite materials; we don't really need much air, and besides, we are wearing battle armor. Even if there were no oxygen here at all, we could still operate normally," Ling said unapologetically to the Chancellor.

Bai Zhongqi smiled helplessly and said, "I was just saying it as a routine, you know, like they do in the movies."

Ling still solemnly said to Bai Zhongqi, "Your Highness, we should still be cautious. I am using an Agent, after all, which does not allow me to use Star Energy, and my perception of the situation on the ship is not that accurate, so we still need to be careful."

Bai Zhongqi waved his hand and opened the helmet of his battle armor, looking at the inner walls of the ship, which had a bit of a post-industrial punk feel.

"We're using Agents, I won't be at risk even if something happens."

Ling also knew she was somewhat over-worrying, as Bai Zhongqi was now entirely using his consciousness to control things. Even if a Star Warrior master appeared here and suddenly restrained Bai Zhongqi's Agent, he wouldn't be able to trace the source of the quantum signal commands, which was Bai Zhongqi himself.

"In such a broken place, what are the chances of a Star Warrior master appearing? Probably about as much as the Galaxy getting destroyed in the next second," Ling thought to herself, criticizing.

However, Ling always had a shadow in her heart, feeling a bit of an ominous premonition about this place.

The space inside the spacecraft was somewhat cramped, obviously, many cabins were filled with equipment as large as a room.

Bai Zhongqi looked around the ship, curious, "I wonder which civilization this ship comes from?"

Ling then expressed her view, "Maybe they're not even a real interstellar civilization. Many of their capabilities haven't even reached the benchmarks of reaching deeper into space."

Bai Zhongqi neither agreed nor disagreed, "That's also possible."
