Chapter 346: 337 Eleventh Prince

Warp 7, this was the maximum speed that the Order Association Fleet could achieve, and the warships that provided this speed were precisely those of the Gigite civilization of the water porpoises targeted by the Teizene. Other warships of the Order Association Fleet were effectively freeloading off the warp bubble of the Gigite civilization.

At this moment, Samalou and the other representatives of the Gigite civilization wished they could suddenly break through warp technology, achieving speeds a thousandfold faster than light, and immediately return to their mother planet to stop the Teizene invasion.

"Eighty-two years ago, one of our contractor spaceships was attacked by a Teizene pirate ship in the Primordial Darkness Star Region, and more than half of the over six hundred fellow beings on board were eaten on the spot by the Teizene, while the rest became their slaves. This was the main reason why our Gigite civilization joined the Order Association and chose to fight the Teizene. We originally thought, being so far away from the Teizene's home base of the Box Star Territory, that we wouldn't be affected or face retaliation, but now our planet has encountered such a crisis," lamented Samalou to General Caesar.

Caesar didn't have anything comforting to say to the middle-aged water porpoise, he could only endeavor to say, "There won't be an issue, the Teizene have undertaken a lengthy expedition, and moreover, this time we've assembled so many of the Order Association's elite warships, we will certainly be able to save Gigite Star from its peril."

Samalou could only nod, "I hope so."

Not all universe civilizations possess a strong tendency for colonization and expansion; the Gigite civilization is one that is very home-loving. Water porpoises like to live by the fresh water shores, and the salinity of the seawater on their planet is even less than that of freshwater lakes on Earth. Water porpoises find it impossible to adapt to the high-salinity waters of many other planets.

Having water alone is not enough; water porpoises also need land, and they have specific requirements for their unique vegetation and algae. To date, water porpoises have not found an environment similar to Gigite Star on any other planet. Coupled with their lack of expansive tendencies, water porpoises have not established any other planetary colonies.

However, due to the water porpoises' exceptional architectural engineering capabilities, their interstellar engineering contracting companies are well-known throughout the Great Star Zone, and some civilizations even send ships specifically to Gigite Star to hire Gigite labor and designers to build some more challenging planetary facilities.

It was these engineering contracts and labor outsources that allowed Gigite Star to make contact with many other civilizations' technologies, and to acquire some compensation, enabling their own civilization to grow and thrive.

Beyond participation in the Order Association, the Gigite civilization had no other military intervention actions. The surrounding civilizations were not very strong and their diplomatic relations relatively harmonious, presenting less risk.

Even the Gigite people themselves had never considered the possibility of invasion.

With skin like shark skin, dark red in color, short upper limbs, a giant T-shaped head, and eyes at both ends of the T that could extend and retract, Chao De, a member of the Horseshoe clan, with a mouth full of fine sharp teeth at the tail end of the T, said regretfully, "If we could reach an agreement with the Earthlings to unite against the Teizene Empire, perhaps we would have a better chance of winning."

Caesar immediately said with displeasure to Chao De, "Don't say things that have no constructive value. We've already confirmed that the Earthlings are simply not the same kind of civilization as our Order Association, they are selfish and stubborn, and even closer to the Teizene. Asking for their help, I think, would be tantamount to inviting the wolf into the house."

After all, Caesar held high prestige, and since he had spoken thus, the other representatives in the fleet were not in a position to oppose his opinion any further.

Only Caesar himself was somewhat shaken at this moment. He was unclear whether the decision he made in accordance with his ideals truly served the interests of the Order Association. On one hand, he thought that what he had said was absolutely correct, that Earthlings should not be considered allies of the Order Association; but on the other hand, Earthlings were enemies of the Teizene, and they even claimed to have defeated the Teizene Fleet led by Su Beisi. If they could be of use, that wouldn't be so bad.

In the end, Caesar still let his ideals and beliefs triumph over his self-interest and calculations. Dismissing other thoughts, he reaffirmed his choice.

Without wearing Battle Armor but instead draped in a specially made, silken robe, Teizene's Eleventh Prince Haiwins elegantly curled up a finger on his paw and picked up a delicate tea cup, gently sipping the beverage before him.

The ecological room was a place on the Teizene Warship designated for high-level Teizene nobles and officers to relax. It featured a simple ecosystem construction, and although most Teizene preferred a desert climate, this particular room was filled with the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers, surrounded by greenery.

Haiwins looked very different from the ordinary Teizene. He was unhurried and not coarse, and even by Teizene standards, he was considered very polite.

Setting down his tea cup, Haiwins spread open a book on his lap, and with an air of cultivated taste, began to read. Teizene generally disliked reading, and if not for the Teizene Empire's compulsory education implemented to cultivate scientific researchers, they would probably all be lunatics—illiterate ones at that.

Yet, Haiwins quite enjoyed reading books, especially those from other civilizations. Given the Teizene's utilitarian nature, they only wrote technical books or textbooks. The only Teizene who wrote storybooks mostly boasted about their own life's military achievements or discussed which intelligent species tasted better, like in some gastronomy series. Reading materials from other stars provided access to things not found in Teizene civilization, like profound love stories, the thriving historical experiences of other civilizations, and even a variety of strange tales.

His Guard Officer never understood Haiwins' peculiar interest. Compared to other princes, Haiwins, this unique individual, was unlikely to become the next Great Emperor. However, the Great Emperor appreciated Haiwins' abilities very much and often entrusted him with important matters.

Moving forward respectfully, the Guard Officer said, "Your Highness, it is time for your afternoon tea."

"Is it already? How time flies. What's the snack today?"

Humbly looking down, the Guard Officer replied, "People from Vesta Star of Vesta, particularly tender in texture."

"What are we waiting for then?"

Several guards quickly wheeled over a guy who was tied up tight to Haiwins. The Vesta individual had pinkish skin covered with horizontal stripes.

The previously tranquil ecological room was now disturbed by the deep yet piercing screams of the Vesta. Haiwins looked on at the individual with interest. At that moment, the Teizene's stature became apparent; the Vesta person placed in a small cart only came up to the chest of Prince Haiwins, who was sitting down.

Haiwins smiled in the way Teizene people smile, and he gently stroked the Vesta person's head, then speaking in Vesta language said, "Don't be afraid, my friend."

The Vesta person, hearing his native language and seeing the seemingly kind and benevolent Haiwins, was very puzzled and stopped screaming.

Haiwins smiled and continued in his language, "There's no need to be afraid. Many people have misunderstandings about Teizene people. In fact, we can communicate, my friend. What's your name?"

The Vesta person replied, trembling, "My name is Han, Your Highness."

"Is that so? Han, I'm very pleased to meet you." Haiwins behaved like an impeccable noble gentleman. Experience more tales on My Virtual Library Empire

This seemed to relax the Vesta person a bit, who let down his guard somewhat.

"Your Highness, I can serve you, please do not eat me."

"Oh, is that so? So you think you're talented and can be of service to me?"

"I wouldn't dare claim to be talented, but I'm an excellent doctor on Vesta Star, specializing in gastrointestinal diseases."

Haiwins nodded, "That sounds good. So, Doctor Han, tell me some stories about your medical treatments, someone, bring our friend a seat."

When seated in the chair that was obviously too large for him, the Vesta person felt he had escaped from danger. The other party didn't seem like an ordinary Teizene person, not uncouth at all, and very polite.

"It seems the Teizene royal family is different from ordinary Teizene people?" the Vesta person thought to himself.

Yet he didn't notice the look of pity and disdain in the eyes of the Eleventh Prince's Guard Officer standing beside.

Vesta told a story of his medical practice, and Haiwins, after listening, appeared delighted, clapping his paws together. Although the physical structure of Teizene people did not permit the effective act of clapping, the sentiment was clear.

"A marvelous story, I quite enjoyed it."

The Vesta person's heart eased a bit more, thinking he was not going to be eaten that day. Perhaps by fostering a good relationship with this Prince, he could be returned to his planet and even attain a life of glory and riches.

"Your Highness, I'm a bit hungry, I wonder if it's possible to be granted something to eat?" the Vesta person then ventured to ask.

Haiwins shook his head, smiling, "Patience is a virtue, my friend. You can wait until it's time for me to eat. Now, tell me another story."

The Vesta person did not realize what Haiwins meant by saying 'it's time for me to eat', and could only go on to tell another story on an empty stomach.

In Vesta's next medical story, in an effort to showcase his own prowess, he began to fabricate details. Haiwins, however, still smiled, waiting for the Vesta person to finish the tale.

After Vesta finished, he asked again, "Your Highness, I've finished, can we eat now?"

Haiwins hummed a sound, keeping his claw on Vesta's shoulder, smiled and said, "Since you say so, let's have our meal."

With that, he snapped off Vesta's arm with a crisp sound.

Vesta screamed in agony, nearly fainting.

Haiwins leisurely picked up an instrument from the table, sliced open the skin on Vesta's severed arm, then meticulously removed a strip of flesh, placing it into his mouth with a knife, and chewed with great relish.

He carefully picked the flesh off the arm bone by bone, cleaning it thoroughly. The Guard Officer held the Vesta person down for him, as Haiwins earnestly enjoyed his afternoon meal.

By the time he finished with the arm, the Vesta person had died.

The Guard Officer knew that the Prince only ate the meat while the food was still alive, losing interest once it died. So, he dragged away the dead Vesta person.

Resettling in his seat, Haiwins picked up his book again, muttering to himself, "Well then, let's read a book by a Vesta person."
