From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 603: Finding Survivors

Ty let out a breath, his brow furrowing as he tried to piece together what had happened after he blacked out. "That's right... after we won, a big fight must have broken out." He could almost picture it—the desperation, the violence that must have unfolded in the aftermath.

JJ sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly as she nodded. "Yep," she said, her voice tinged with exhaustion. "Alexander went on a frenzy after the loss, killing a lot of people himself." She shook her head, her eyes flickering with a mix of frustration and sadness. "I'm sure in the morning, we'll get more news on the next stage."She paused, her gaze softening as it settled on Ty. "But for now, you should try to rest. You've been through hell."

Ty sighed, tilting his head back slightly. "I suppose... Not going to lie, though, I don't feel too tired. My body feels like it's surging with energy." He looked down at himself, taking in the blue medical garb and trousers that had replaced his previous attire. "Uh, where did you even find me, anyway?"

JJ gave a small yawn, her eyes still filled with concern. "I'm not too sure. It was about an hour after you and John ended the first stage that they were able to send a team in to retrieve you two. The reports said you were only in your underwear for some reason." She blushed slightly, a hint of embarrassment in her voice. "Not that that's too important. Why do you ask?"

Ty took a deep breath, his eyes drifting away as he thought back to what had happened. The memories felt almost surreal, like something pulled from a dream. But deep down, he knew better. "No, that was definitely real," he murmured to himself, before glancing back at JJ. "Just curious, I guess. Where are Lt. Daemon and Yun-Jin? And everyone else, for that matter?"

JJ's expression darkened, her gaze dropping to the floor. She held her head low for a moment, her voice barely above a whisper. "We can talk about him at a later time. For now... just get some sleep until morning, okay?"

Ty frowned, his eyebrows knitting together. "But I told you, I'm not tired."

JJ stood up, walking over to a cabinet on the other side of the room. She opened it, retrieving a small bottle before returning to Ty's bedside. She placed her hand gently on his chest, lifting his arm to show the bruises and dried blood that marred his skin. "You still need to rest, regardless," she said firmly, her eyes locking onto his. "Here, take some of these sleeping pills. They also help with healing while you sleep."

Ty looked at the pills in her hand, a reluctant smile tugging at his lips. After a moment of thought, he sighed, shaking his head. "I really shouldn't be turning down free sleep, should I?" He took the pills from her, his fingers brushing against hers briefly. He swallowed them, leaning back against the pillow. "How long does it take for them to even kick in..."

Before JJ could respond, Ty's eyelids drooped, his body sinking into the bed as the exhaustion finally took hold. His breathing slowed, his body relaxing completely as sleep overtook him. JJ watched him for a moment, her expression softening. She reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from his forehead before turning away, her footsteps quiet as she moved to sit back down, keeping watch over him through the night. Ty lay on his back, staring up at the sky as a red sun glowed down on him. It hung low on the horizon, casting an eerie light across the landscape. He realized he was lying in a pool of thick, red liquid that clung to his skin, warm and almost comforting. Slowly, the liquid receded, leaving Ty lying on a soft bed of grass. A gentle breeze rolled over the field, the rustling of the blades bringing a strange sense of calm.

Ty rubbed the back of his neck as he sat up, feeling an odd sense of disorientation. He stood, glancing around at the unfamiliar surroundings, confusion settling in. Was this another one of those dreams? He tried to reach out mentally for the creature that usually lurked within him, expecting the familiar dark presence to make itself known. But there was nothing—only silence. He frowned, unease gnawing at him. Maybe this was just a normal dream for once.

As Ty continued to survey the area, movement caught his attention. He narrowed his eyes against the sun's glare, watching as a group of people approached. They moved with purpose, their white robes flowing around them, sashes of deep colors tied at their waists. Each person carried a basket brimming with colorful fruits, the vibrant hues contrasting against the white of their garments. They whispered among themselves, their voices hushed and indistinct, almost like a distant echo.

Ty brushed off his pant legs, feeling the remnants of the red liquid, before stepping forward. He fixed his gaze on the nearest woman, her robe glinting in the sunlight. "Hello, ma'am," he called, his voice carrying across the field. He took a few more steps towards her, his heart pounding slightly. "Do you know where I am?"

But the woman didn't even glance in his direction. She walked right past him, her eyes forward, her expression serene. Ty reached out, hoping to tap her shoulder, but his hand went straight through her form. He gasped, stumbling back, his eyes widening in shock. It was as if he wasn't really there—like he was nothing more than a ghost.

He spun around, his heart pounding faster now. He called out to others, but no one responded. They all continued on their path, oblivious to his presence. Ty looked down at his hands, his breath hitching. They weren't skeletal, nor were they the form he had become used to. Instead, they were the hands he remembered from Earth—his original hands. The realization hit him like a punch to the gut, and he felt a wave of emotion crash over him. Before he could make sense of it all, a scream pierced the air behind him, shattering the strange tranquility of the scene. Ty spun around, his eyes searching frantically for the source, his heart in his throat.
