Fractured Wings

Chapter 67: Chapter 67

The room was dark, the only light coming from the faint glow of monitors lining the walls. Each screen displayed a different feed—security cameras, news broadcasts, maps of the city—all of it meticulously monitored and analyzed.

Tomura Shigaraki sat in the center of it all, his fingers drumming restlessly against the arm of his chair. His red eyes flicked from screen to screen, his mind racing with plans and possibilities.

Across from him, his master's voice echoed through the speakers of a communication device, deep and resonant, like the rumble of distant thunder. All For One's presence was always felt, even when he wasn't physically there. It was a constant reminder of the power Shigaraki was meant to inherit, the legacy he was expected to uphold.

"You've done well Tomura." All For One said, his tone calm and measured. "The League's influence is growing, and Hero's Eve is near. But tell me, what do you intend to do with the boy? Bakugou Katsuki. He's a high prospect on the opposing team."

Shigaraki leaned back in his chair, his fingers curling into a loose fist. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice was low and raspy. "He's never going to join. I noticed that almost instantly but wanted to see if we could just break him into it. I don't think he'll change his mind though. But I don't want to waste our effort of getting him either."

All For One chuckled, the sound reverberating through the room. "A pragmatic approach. You've grown, Tomura. There was a time when you would have destroyed him without a second thought. But now you're thinking strategically. That's good."

Shigaraki's lips curled into a faint smirk. "I've learned from the best."

"Indeed," All For One said. "So what are your options? You could choose to have him turned into a Nomu. His quirk is powerful. He'd make an excellent addition to our forces. Or you could use him as leverage. The heroes would do anything to get him back, and that could give you an advantage."

Shigaraki considered this, his fingers twitching as he weighed the possibilities. Turning Bakugou into a Nomu was tempting—it would be a fitting end for someone so stubborn and defiant. But it also felt... wasteful.

Bakugou was a rising star from UA, he showed his potential during the sports festival. He could definitely go bigtime. Easily. He would further represent what current day heroes were and what they stood for, become another symbol. Shigaraki wanted to destroy that.

"No," he finally said. "I want to make a statement. A public execution. Something that will shake the heroes to their core. If we kill him in front of the world, it'll show everyone that the League isn't just a group of thugs. We're a force to be reckoned with."

All For One was silent for a moment, and Shigaraki could almost feel the weight of his master's approval. "A bold move," All For One said, "Killing a target like Bakugou Katsuki, that is an even greater attack on UA than you have done. Every hero in the country will be after you. The media will paint you as more than monsters, and the public will demand heads."

"Good," Shigaraki said, his voice sharp with conviction. "Let them come. The more attention we get, the more chaos we can create. And chaos is what we need. Before Hero's Eve, I want the League to spread out, his random targets, keep the heroes on their toes. By the time we make our move, they'll be too scattered and exhausted to stop us."

All For One chuckled again, a sound that was both approving and ominous. "You've thought this through. I'm impressed. But remember, Tomura, the heroes won't take this lightly. Once you cross the line, there's no going back."

"I know," Shigaraki said, his voice steady. "And I'm ready."

"Very well," All For One. "But be careful. The heroes are already sniffing around. If they find your base before you're ready, it could jeopardize everything."

Shigaraki nodded, his mind already racing with plans. "I'll move Bakugou to another location. Somewhere they won't expect. And I'll make sure the League is ready for whatever comes next."

"Good," All For One said. "I'll be watching. And remember, Tomura, this is your game now. Play it well."

The communication device went silent, and Shigaraki leaned back in his chair, his fingers drumming against the armrest again. He felt a surge of excitement, a thrill that came with the knowledge that he was in control. The League was his, and soon, the world would know it.

***

Kurogiri's warp gate deposited Shigaraki back at the League's base, the familiar surroundings a stark contrast to the sterile darkness of his meeting room. The base was a chaotic mess—crates of supplies stacked haphazardly, weapons leaning against the walls, and the faint hum of activity as the League prepared for their next move.

Muscular was lounging on a couch, his massive frame taking up most of the space. Spinner was sharpening his blades, his reptilian eyes focused on the task at hand. Compress was fiddling with a deck of cards, his movements smooth and practiced. And Kurogiri stood by the bar, polishing a glass with his usual demeanour.

And in a dark corner, a small cloth was swirling around slowly hunched up against the building. It was Mimic, his now owner, Riku, the one who controlled every one of his thoughts had left him here at the behest of Shigaraki. He stayed silent and only followed orders, it was like he was a nomu.

Shigaraki walked into the room, his presence immediately drawing attention. "We've got work to do," he said, his voice cutting through the idle chatter. "Our joint attack on Hero's Eve will happen in less than a month. I want the League to be ready. We're going to hit the heroes hard, and we're going to make sure they never forget it."

Muscular grinned, his teeth bared in a feral smile. "About time. I've been itching for a fight."

"Patience," Shigaraki said, his tone sharp. "We're not just going to rush in. We're going to be smart about this. We'll spread out and hit random targets, keep them guessing. And then it will all culminate to the big day."

Spinner's expression turned serious. "What about the student? Are we still keeping him here?"

Shigaraki's eyes narrowed. "No. We're moving him. The heroes are getting too close, and I don't want them interfering. Kurogiri, I'll need you to handle the transport."

Kurogiri inclined his head. "As you wish."

Compress leaned back on a stool, his mask hiding his expression. "By the way, have you noticed Dabi? He's been... different since he's come back."

Shigaraki's lips curled into a smirk. "Stronger you mean. That's good. We're going to need all the firepower we can get. Especially in this inner circle."

The room fell silent for a moment, the weight of Shigaraki's words settling over them. Then Muscular let out a low laugh. "This is going to be fun."

Before Shigaraki could respond, the wall of the base exploded inward, the force of the impact sending debris flying in all directions. The sound was deafening, a roar that shook the very foundations of the building. Shigaraki spun around, his eyes widening as a familiar figure stepped in through the dust and rubble.

All Might.

The Symbol of Peace stood tall, his muscular frame radiating power and determination, also vengeance. His blue eyes burned with fury, and his voice boomed through the room like a thunderclap.

"WHERE IS HE?"

***

The night was still, the air thick with anticipation as the heroes and police officers gathered at the edge of the forest, their eyes fixed on the dimly lit building in the distance. The League's base was a nondescript structure, its windows dark and its walls weathered, but the energy surrounding it was anything but ordinary.

All Might stood at the forefront, his towering frame a beacon of strength and resolve. Beside him, Endeavour's flames flickered faintly, his sharp eyes scanning the area with a mix of impatience and determination. Gran Torino hovered nearby, his small frame belying the immense power and experience he carried. Best Jeanist, Kamui Woods, and Pixie-Bob stood ready, their quirks primed for action.

The police officers and detectives moved with precision, setting up perimeter barriers and communication lines. Detective Tsukauchi was at the center of it all, his calm demeanour a steadying presence amidst the tension.

All Might's mind, however, was elsewhere. His thoughts were a whirlwind of strategy, concern, and the ever-present shadow of All For One. He clenched his fists, the weight of the mission pressing down on him. Bakugou was in there. And they were going to get him back.

Gran Torino approached, his movements swift and deliberate. He gestured for All Might and Endeavour to step aside, his expression serious. "We need to talk," he said, his voice low.

All Might followed, his brow furrowing. "What is it, Gran Torino?"

The older hero glanced around to ensure they were out of earshot before speaking. "The information we're acting on, it came from Soryu."

All Might's eyes widened, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. "Soryu?"

Gran Torino nodded. "The same. He's been working with us, feeding us intel. He's the one who tagged Twice and gave us this location."

Endeavour's flames flared slightly, his voice sharp with skepticism. "And we're supposed to trust him? A known villain? This could be a trap."

Gran Torino's gaze hardened. "I don't trust him fully either, but the Commission does. And right now, we don't have the luxury of doubt. A student's life is on the line."

All Might's jaw tightened, his mind racing. Soryu was dangerous—he knew that better than anyone from the few scenes he has been able to see from the Hosu Game alone. The boy's quirk, his intelligence, his willingness to manipulate both sides of conflict made him a wildcard. But his mentor is right. They didn't have the time to second-guess. Bakugou needed them.

"All For One," All Might said suddenly, his voice low. "If he's here, if he's involved..."

Gran Torino placed his hand on his shoulder, his grip firm. "One problem at a time, Toshinori. Focus on the mission. Get Bakugou out. We'll deal with the rest later."

All Might nodded, his resolve hardening. He turned to Endeavour, who was still scowling but said nothing. The three of them rejoined the group, where Tsukauchi was finalizing the plan.

"Listen up," Tsukauchi said, his voice carrying over the quiet murmurs of the assembled heroes and officers. "This is the location we've identified as the likely holding site for Bakugou Katsuki. The intel came from a tracking device attached to one of the Leagues members, Twice, who is currently being pursued by another team. Our priority is to secure Bakugou and apprehend any villains on-site."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the group. "Best Jeanist, Pixie Bob—you're on search and rescue. If Bakugou isn't in the main area, you'll need to locate any underground facilities. Kamui Woods, you're on perimeter control. Make sure no one escapes. All Might, Endeavour—you're on the front line. Incapacitate any villains you encounter, but everyone remember, our main priority is Bakugou's safety."

All Might stepped forward, his presence commanding immediate attention. "We move swiftly and decisively. The League has already caused enough harm. Tonight, we take a stand. For Bakugou. For the future of hero society."

The group nodded, their expressions grim but determined. All Might turned to face the building, his heart pounding in his chest. This was it. The moment they'd been prepared for. The moment he'd been dreading.

As they approached the building, All Might's mind wandered. He thought of Bakugou, he thought of Midoriya, waiting anxiously for good news. He thought of All For One, the shadow that loomed over everything. And he thought of himself—his dwindling power, his fading time as the Symbol of Peace.

But none of that mattered now. What mattered was Bakugou. What mattered was proving that the heroes could still protect, still inspire, still win.

All Might's fists clenched, his muscles coiling like springs. He took a deep breath, his mind reciting a silent mantra. This is the heroes' path. This is our chance to reclaim what we've lost. This is our moment.

And then, with a roar that shook the very earth, he surged forward. His fist collided with the wall of the building, the impact sending debris flying in all directions. The sound was deafening, a thunderous crash that echoed through the night. Dust and rubble filled the air, but All Might didn't stop. He stepped through the gaping hole, his blue eyes blazing with fury.

The room was beyond chaos. Villains scrambled to their feet, their expressions a mix of shock and fear. Shigaraki stood at the center of it all, his red eyes wide with surprise. All Might's gaze locked onto him, his voice booming like a thunderclap.

"WHERE IS HE?"

Kurogiri's warp gate flickered to life, it's inky darkness swirling with the promise of escape. "Everyone, move!" he urged, his voice urgent.

Before the League could react, a blur of fire and fury streaked past them. Endeavour's roar shattered the tension, his form blazing like a comet as he rocketed straight into Kurogiri.

BOOM!

The impact sent the warp villain hurtling backwards, smashing through the concrete wall. Dust and debris rained down as he skidded outside the building, slamming hard against the pavement, His metal collar crackled with static interference, his warp gate sputtering and fizzling.

Endeavour would allow it, his flames licking hungrily around his fists.

Before the heroes could press their advantage, a bestial roar filled the air. Muscular lunged forward, his grin stretching ear to ear as his muscle fibers swelled grotesquely. "Been a while since I got to cut loose!" he bellowed, throwing a devastating punch straight at All Might.

THOOM!

All Might's palm caught the strike, his fingers clenching around Muscular's massive fist. The force of their clash cracked the floor beneath them, sending tremors through the hideout. For a moment, they were locked in a battle of sheer strength, the ground splintering under their combined might.

"All Might, let's see how long you—"

"Mimic!"

Shigaraki's sharp and raspy voice shouted out and cut through the noise in the room. Muscular instantly wrenched his arm back, leaving All Might momentarily off-balance. Before he could give chase, the entire room lurched violently.

The walls warped. The floor twisted. The entire hideout convulsed as if alive. Mimic's ability seized the environment, reconfiguring the structure in an instant. The ground beneath All Might and Endeavour gave way, the reinforced floor crumbling beneath them.

They plummeted!

The two heroes landed heavily on a new lower level, dust and glass exploding around them. All Might coughed, shaking off the impact, while Endeavour landed in a crouch, flames roaring to life around his shoulders.

Then, from the darkness, they emerged.

Nomu.

Twisted, grotesque figures stepped forward, their glowing eyes lifeless, their bodies hulking with unnatural strength. They filled the chamber, their low growls sending a cold chill through the air.

Above, Best Jeanist and Pixie-Bob moved with quiet precision, slipping past the chaos to descend deeper into the hideout. Their goal was clear: find Bakugou.

Meanwhile, Endeavour rose to his full height, glaring at the creatures before him. "I'll take care of this. You get—"

A new portal yawned open above them. More Nomu spilled through, a writhing tide of destruction.

"Tch." Endeavour's eyes narrowed. "Of course."

All Might barely had time to react before one of them—taller than the rest, its sinewy arms lined with jagged protrusions—suddenly lunged. Its forearms split open, revealing chainsaws embedded within its flesh. With a shriek of metal, the blades revved to life, spinning wildly.

RRRRRZZZZZT!

The Nomu lashed out.

SLASH!

All Might reeled as the chainsaws tore across his cheek, drawing the first blood of the battle. The Nomu tilted its head back and let out a maniacal, gurgling laugh, its elongated tongue writhing grotesquely in the air.

The League members they were after could have been gone now. But...

... the fight had just begun.
