Oblivion.

* * * *

Oblivion Station was one of my staging areas. It was a place to sell honestly expropriated property. Thanks to the pocket dimension, expropriating Kree valuables was a breeze. Under wartime law, it's a trophy. And selling a trophy is one way to make money. The galaxy was almost always at war with someone, and almost always there was trophy resale on oblivion. There were a few other points, but the main one is here. The galaxy's Tortuga was famous for its sellers. I carried everything from the battle - weapons, armour, property from warehouses and even combat vehicles. A standard Kree rifle cost fifty units, for example, and in the course of sabotage, about a hundred rifles were taken from the enemy, and several thousand more from warehouses. Even provisions were going well - the Kree metabolism was no different from that of the Xandarians, so the standard soldier's "stew-condensed milk" kit was being sold in hundreds of crates. Before the warehouses were blown up, I filled my pocket dimension to the brim with weapons and ammunition. I sold them by weight on Oblivion - sixty thousand units. This is despite the fact that you can live on one unit for four days without saving much. Yes, a hamster is given to a man from childhood, it's like a talent. Like the mental ability not to throw away good things, but to sell them for money... If I could also sell Thanos' flagship for scrap metal, I'd be rich!

It was a busy place. There were some not-so-nice people hanging around, a lot of Kree. I'm wearing a hoodie. A lot of people hide their faces here. I was on my way to the fence, not far from the landing stage.

- Good afternoon, Danica, - I entered a flimsy shop inside a cargo container, - how's business?

Danica turned round:

- 'Good day to you too, swordsman. How much did you bring in this time?

- Not much," I pulled out my pocket dimension, "there are two cargo containers here. Mostly weapons and armour, from the warehouse, unused...

- All right, let's unload," she turned round.

I followed her. The backyard was immediately decorated with two angular containers. Danica opened them both, checking the cargo.

- Are you going to take it apart?

- Then, I don't think you've tried to screw me yet. How much do you want?

- Standard rate. I'm not in the mood to haggle, I got a lot to do.

Danica gave me the money I was owed. After that, I was free to leave for Xandar. I went to the ship with a sense of accomplishment.

- Captain, there's an emergency! Bersie came on the comm.

- What?

- A ship belonging to the Thanos Guard is here. According to the onboard computer, it's his daughter.

- What's she doing here?

- Apparently, she came to get you. Careful, she's hot!

Bersie's got an APB out on Thanos' daughter's ship. A Kree corvette, well modernised. I looked it up. It came into the station through the eye socket of a Celestial's skull. Interesting... It went to land next to my ship. No, I was wrong. I can't hide my ship in broad daylight. And the Blind Maiden is known throughout the galaxy! No wonder the Kree spies told her where to find me. This girl's corvette came in for a landing next to the Maiden, and out of it came a rather pretty girl with a quick stride. Green-skinned, but otherwise a typical human. Following her were Thanos' guardsmen. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's a nice layout. Time to get out of here. The bastards came at my ship, but Bercy activated the defences. They weren't expecting that - the Guardsmen jumped all over the place, then ran back to their ship. The brave girl stayed on the surface, unafraid. She drew her sword from behind her back... ahem. Now it's time for action - if I bring her to Xandar in addition to the scientist, it'll be great!

- Bersi, attack the Kree ship with the ion weapon. Try not to damage the oblivion systems.

- Acknowledged.

A relatively small cannon emerged from my ship. A second later, a blinding white beam hit the Kree ship and their corvette dropped dead on the landing pad - they had time to take off. I was there. I threw off my cloak, snatched up my sabre, and darted toward the green-skinned woman. She had time to react to me, which was fantastic, because I was just a little short of the speed of sound. She parried my sword strike with her own, apparently surprised.

- Hello, beautiful," I smiled, speeding up even more, and stepped around her, hitting her from behind, but she parried it. That's okay, she couldn't beat me. I became more serious, and after parrying her blade, I shoved her hard. The fight lasted a few seconds - Gamora was very good. Her reactions were clearly inhuman, her strength and plasticity were beyond human. She almost hurt me - saved by the armour. Two seconds later, after fending off a dozen attacks, she took a tangible blow under her knee and was forced to crouch. She pushed off sharply, jumping backwards, but I had anticipated it and her jump was a big mistake - she lost her footing in flight and was hit with a powerful stunner - I had time to put on my glove. I picked her up.

- Maiden, ramp, now!

The ship opened the ramp without question and I, with the green-skinned woman in my arms, flew in.

- Now, let's get out of here. And fast! - I ordered, carrying my burden.

While she was unconscious, I could penetrate her consciousness with power relatively easily. Which I did, bringing her to the guest quarters.

Xandar's orbit.

What am I supposed to do?

I paced from corner to corner thinking about what to do with the prisoner. On the one hand, a very valuable specimen, but on the other hand, she's a, shall we say, conscientious girl and is tormented by doubts about her service to Thanos. The girl is very... emotional. I can't tell you how much dirt she's got in her memory. I didn't jump to conclusions, however, and dragged her to Xandar. She was still lying in her quarters, waiting for her fate. For good. There was nothing to do - something had to be done. And it was urgent.

The girl, by the way, turned out to be a cyborg - her body was synthetic. That is, a large number of tissues were replaced by artificial matter - apparently, she had once been in a bad situation, so now she lived half iron and half human. When it was - I didn't find out, I'm not able to go so deep into the memory. But what to do? With such thoughts and business acumen, sooner or later she will betray Thanos. Upon reflection, I've come to a decision:

- Maiden, set course for LC310.

- Acknowledged.

The green-skinned beauty awoke. She woke up in a clean, tidy room, with only her underwear on. The cabin had everything she needed - a bathroom, even a small kitchenette. Gamora spent about ten minutes exploring the cabin she found herself in - the cupboards were filled with food. The door was locked. Gamora checked everything - there was no vent to be found at all, however, the air was fresh. Gamora felt disgusted - not only had she been captured, but the enemy, the very same enemy, had managed to outplay her at her favourite pastime - fencing. With a sword. She kicked the bed and lay on it, staring up at the ceiling. "And he stripped her, you damned pervert," she thought with anger, mentally punching Hyarty in the face for the tenth time. However, all her thoughts were interrupted in an instant. The door to the cabin opened and Hyarty entered, in his home clothes.

- 'Are you resting?

- You," Gamora jumped up on the bed, "where am I?

- 'My ship, the Blind Maiden. I think the whole galaxy knows him," Hyarty shrugged. The seventeen-year-old looked like a boy next to Gamora, a grown-up girl of sorts. However, she clenched her teeth and lowered her gaze:

- And you're not afraid that I'll kill you?

- If you could, you would have done it already. As they say, the killer hasn't grown up yet," Hjarti smiled sweetly. Gamora stared at his face with hatred. She didn't know what she was looking for, but she didn't find it.

- And you are the famous Hyarty? - she asked disbelievingly.

- Yes, - the guy smiled once again, sitting on the edge of Gamora's bed, - did you expect something else?

- I thought you were more...

Hjarti only smiled sincerely:

- Well, yeah, everyone thinks I'm something more. To be honest, I'm just a technician from the spaceport of the hunters' guild. I joined the army since I needed citizenship to be a hunter.

Hyarty got up from the bed and with a wave of his hand, telekinesis, covered Gamora with a blanket:

- Get some sleep, we'll be there soon. Breakfast will be soon.

- Xandarians..." Gamora grimaced, "so you've decided to feed me before your execution? How honourable of you.

- What execution? - Hyarty raised one eyebrow. Gamora, remembering that she was only wearing her underwear, pulled the blanket up to her chin.

- Are we flying to Xandar?

- 'On the contrary, we're flying from Xandar,' Hyarty shrugged, 'I'm a soldier, not a bully. You might think I'm doing everything I can to piss off Thanos, but I'm not. Even if you were executed, it would have no effect on martial law, so there's no point. You're a good girl, I can feel it, even though you chose the wrong side, and I don't want to kill good people.

Gamora couldn't believe her ears. Not only did this boy grab her, cover her with a blanket like a caring mummy, but he also rubbed in the fact that she was good. It was too much for one day," she took a deep breath:

- И...

- What's gonna happen to you? - He interrupted her, "You're going to be my lab rat. Not for long, I promise. You'll like it," Hearthy winked and left the cabin. The door closed behind him.

* * *

Gamora was confused, and a strange feeling was growing in her soul. Her captor had restricted her to almost nothing-except freedom of movement, of course. There was even internet access, but only for reading. The further she got to know Hyarty, the stranger the attitude towards the young man became. She didn't know what it felt like - whether it was gratitude for not killing him, or hatred for disgracing him, or a desire to obey the stronger one. She didn't consider herself weak, though, even though she'd lost the swordfight cleanly. Hjarti made a few more visits to the prisoner - he preferred to talk to her in private. Of course, with his innate empathy and the gift of the Force, he could negotiate heart-to-heart very effectively. Hjarti simply acted on instinct, with no far-reaching plans behind him. As a result of his conversations, he got Gamora to pour her heart out to him, telling him about her childhood and her life with Thanos. In return, he also told her about how he began his career on Xandar. Hyarthi preferred to keep quiet about his more distant past, only hinting that he had no family, an orphan, a vagrant. Gamora stayed out of it, realising that this information already meant a lot. Hjarti cared for the girl more than he should have cared for the prisoner - without noticing it, he felt some sympathy for her. He felt that it was mutual, though it was impossible to determine Gamor's mental attitude to himself - there was a lot of things mixed in - from hatred to gratitude and from gratitude to shame.

The blind maiden arrived on LC310 at night, when Gamora was already asleep and had her tenth dream. Hjarti did not wake her up - he only pressed her with force, plunging her into a deep sleep and picked her up in his arms and carried her to the medical section of the LC. Inogalactic medicine could do a lot of things. He could even grow Gamora a new body from a sample of her tissue, fully functional. But that would be a mistake - she was a semi-cyborg, a human with a lot of implants and prosthetics. Instead, Hyarty laid her on a bed in Sickbay and contacted Bersi:

- Bersi? What can you tell me about Gamora?

- You like her, Captain," the ISKIN noted sarcastically, "and she's also quite a peculiar person in every sense.

- I'm talking about the body, Bersih. Where are your medical modules?

Hjarti stood in the middle of a large medical bay. It had everything for the most sophisticated medical research and operations - the ship was not only a combat ship, but also a research ship, and exploring other galaxies meant being away from civilisation for years at a time. And of course, that's why the ship was stocked with all sorts of medical equipment and medical droids.

The droids flew up to Gamora lying on the table and began scanning.

After a few minutes, Hyarty received information regarding Gamora's body. Pretty good cybernetisation, however, Hjarti's droid level was not up to par. Just a little bit.

* * *

Gamora woke up in a large, spacious hospital room. The girl looked around - there was no one around. Except for a strange droid who was doing something at the table. Hyarty was sitting not far away, behind the glass, reading reports, but Gamora couldn't see him.

According to the reports, Gamora was infertile, even more so - unable to have sex, due to trauma and cybernetisation, some of her nerve endings were missing.

- Commander, the patient is awake.

- I can feel it," Hjarti said, "It's an interesting film. All right, I did what I could.

- Shall I tell her?

- I'll tell her myself," Hjarti got up, putting the report on the table and went to the patient's room.

Gamora found herself lying in a hospital room. She examined herself - there were no stitches or anything, only a dizzy spell. Also, she was wearing nothing but a thin blanket. Gamora even turned a little green with shame and covered herself up. Just at that moment, Hyarty entered the chamber.

- Good morning, princess! - he waved his hand, - are you awake yet?

- What did you call me? - Gamora became enraged.

- But you are the daughter of Thanos, who is the Emperor. So you're a princess. And don't argue, it's more fun for me to call you that.

- I'll give you a punch in the snout for that.

- Try it if you want. Don't be afraid, I don't bite," he sat down on the edge of the bed, but Gamora tried to push him down with her foot. It was no use - he stuck his arse to the bed. Hjarti only smiled.

- Where am I?

- Hospital Wing," he shrugged, "I liked you, Gamora. Everything except your body...

To the girl, such a thing was very insulting. Not surprisingly, Hjarti received a portion of venom in response:

- Really? My body is not for juvenile perverts like you!

Hyarty was stunned for a second. Then he laughed:

- Gamora, you're certainly a sexy girl, no doubt about it, but that's not what I meant... I'm an engineer after all, not a rapist.

Gamora twitched as if struck by a blow. The reminder that her body was riddled with implants and prosthetics was unpleasant. Her sympathy for Hyarty began to fade. She gave him an angry look:

- 'So?

- That's all," he shrugged, "I just decided to do some experiments. I could use a guinea pig, too. I replaced some of your organs. I grew new liver and kidneys, reproductive organs, part of your nervous system. On the whole, you're a normal human being now..." Hyarty shrugged his shoulders, "but I had to keep and even increase the cybernetisation of some other organs. Muscles, skeleton, joints - so that you wouldn't lose your reaction, strength and speed. According to my calculations, you became a little stronger, faster....

Gamora didn't really understand what Hjarti was telling her:

- Were you experimenting on me?

- You could say that, - the guy shrugged his shoulders, - rejoice, for you can live like a normal person again. And even have children, if you want. I grew all the organs you need for that from a sample of your DNA and stem cells. I've never had to do this before and it's best if you keep your physical condition a secret from the others.

The meaning of Hyarty's words began to dawn on Gamora. The set of feelings that she had, abruptly changed direction - she jumped up on the bed and hugged him, thanking him in a very unusual way - kissing him. Of course, Hjarti would have put it down to post-operative hormonal instability, but he preferred to respond to the kiss by putting his arm around the girl. She quickly pulled away and her cheeks turned a dark green colour. Hjarti was still hugging the girl.

- How did you manage it?

- I have my secrets," he smiled, "and now I'm sorry, but we have to go. I have to go to Xandar, and you have to go home.....

Gamora was confused. Really confused - not only was she getting emotional, but she didn't want to change anything. But... as it happened. She didn't know what to say - she wanted to, and it was stupid to do anything other than what Hjarti had suggested. She pulled away from him, looking round herself.

- Do you have some clothes?

- Sure," Hyarty pulled Gamora's clothes from the nightstand with his telekinesis, "I'll be waiting for you in the hangar.

- Where?

- The ship will take you there," Hyarty smiled. At the same time, the clear voice of the ship was heard in Gamora's head, confirming the words of its captain.
