Chapter 75
BAM!
The guild master of GG Guild, ‘Woo Gyeol’, launched a powerful flying kick at the side of the World Boss, ‘Green Dragon’.
WHOOSH!
Immediately after, a swift tail swipe attack, incongruous to the massive form of the Green Dragon, swept across the entire battlefield.
THUD!
Woo Gyeol managed to evade the attack using Backward Evasion’s invincibility, putting some distance between himself and the Green Dragon.
POW!
The sight of dozens of users being flung away all at once around the Green Dragon was truly spectacular. If only all those users weren’t affiliated with the ‘Alparion Empire’, it might have been a more entertaining scene.
Woo Gyeol muttered with a disgruntled expression, “Damn, there are so many users trying to piggyback on this. They should just go fight the Betarion Empire.”
Not all users of the ‘Alparion Empire’ gathered in the Faction Battlefield at ‘Berveia Forest’ were part of the GG Guild alliance.
The GG Guild alliance currently included the White Bones Guild, No Mercy, and the ‘Hong Baek’ guild, which formed a defensive barrier on the outskirts of the forest while spearheading the attack against the World Boss.
While most of the Alparion Empire users in Berveia Forest belonged to the GG alliance, there were still quite a few individual users that didn’t follow orders.
Of course, one couldn’t blame the individual users; they also wanted to contribute to the World Boss defeat and take their share.
If they died and were bounced out of the Faction Battlefield, it would be all for nothing.
In fact, the trickiest part of the first World Boss, ‘Green Dragon’, wasn’t even its terrifying patterns.
It was the nature of the ‘Faction Battlefield’.
Item settings couldn’t be changed within the battlefield.
If one dies, there’s a cooldown penalty to re-enter the battlefield.
However, both PvE users trying to conquer the boss and PvP users looking to fend off opposing forces were necessary.
Even if PvE users wanted to launch an attack, if they were pressed by the ‘Faction War’, it would be game over.
If they were pushed back in the war, they could inadvertently hand over the clearing of the World Boss to the Betarion Empire, despite giving them all the strategies.
“If both PvE and PvP users don’t cooperate, we won’t stand a chance against this guy.”
No matter how hard the PvP-focused members of the GG Guild hit the dragon, it would only serve to contribute to the overall damage.
In the end, it would be the PvE-focussed ‘Hong Baek’ guild that needed to take down the World Boss.
Woo Gyeol observed the battle situation.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
[Iron Golem]
[HP 27,720,505/50,000,000]
The main force of the ‘Hong Baek’ guild was concentrating their attacks on a single Guardian.
They were rapidly whittling down the Guardian’s HP with vastly superior damage compared to the members of GG Guild who were focused on PvP.
BAM!
The protection tank, ‘Deathly Death’, was skillfully evading the Guardian Golem’s vicious attacks with lightning-fast movements and precise counters, all while maintaining their offensive.
“Current arena rank one, Deathly Death, huh.”
‘Chris’, of the ‘Chris Raid Team’, was the main tank of a party with experience in dungeon plays, consistently holding onto the rank one spot in one-on-one arenas. Although Woo Gyeol was also at the top of the tournament rankings, he couldn’t help but acknowledge Deathly Death’s prowess.
It was hard to understand why a user of Deathly Death’s caliber was not the main tank for the Green Dragon but was instead on Guardian duty.
However, upon witnessing the rapid white flash moving in front of the Green Dragon, one could understand why Deathly Death was assigned as a sub-tank.
Woo Gyeol was left speechless. “Is that even possible for a user?”
SWISH!
The Green Dragon’s massive front claw came crashing down toward the white girl.
SLASH.
CRASH!
With a light afterimage, the Dragon’s claw passed through the swaying girl’s body, slamming into the ground. The powerful impact left the earth trembling.
It wasn’t an invulnerability skill. She dodged that horrifying claw with sheer movement.
Starlight poured down around the girl as her sword began to weave beautiful arcs.
BAM BAM BAM!
RAARRR!!
THUD THUD THUD!
The Green Dragon let out a scream as it relentlessly swung its front claws at the girl. With each swing, the girl executed quick movements, continuously striking against the Dragon’s claws.
With bloodshot lizard-like eyes, the Green Dragon fixated only on the white girl. She had firmly secured aggro through sheer damage while dodging its terrifying patterns.
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP!
As the Green Dragon started to roll its back feet, trying to shake off the users clinging to it—POW, POW! Many users were flung away, yet the main force of the ‘Hong Baek’ guild facing the Guardian remained unharmed.
Due to the main tank girl’s position in front of the colossal Green Dragon, the patterns other users had to deal with were reduced to just a few: the tail swipe and the back foot roll.
The girl distinguished between the patterns she had to evade merely with movement and those needing an invincibility skill, as well as those she must block.
WHOOSH!
The Dragon’s massive claw swept from a 180-degree angle, swinging toward the girl.
That pattern had been the cause of the earlier failures in their conquest attempts.
While classes like the warrior or fighter could withstand it with little damage, they would be hurled backwards in the direction the claw had swung. The tank’s position would shift, putting rear and side dealers at risk.
And the upcoming 360-degree tail swipe. If that were blocked, they’d be sent flying. Even if one didn’t die, the tank’s position would change, making it impossible to protect dealers in the follow-up patterns.
All the ranged users with protective skills for the tank were clustered around the Guardian. The protection wouldn’t reach the girl positioned behind the massive body of the Green Dragon.
Woo Gyeol was so focused on the girl’s movements that he forgot his mission of keeping an eye on the battlefield situation.
SLASH.
When the 180-degree front claw swipe came down close to the girl, her figure suddenly wavered and vanished. She reappeared in the exact spot.
Woo Gyeol dropped his jaw. “Counterattack?”
At the moment the claw reached her, she had targeted it and countered.
The time available to target the claw was barely 0.1 seconds! This was a complete departure from the previous strategy of relying on party protections for the main tank.
The girl was solo tanking without any party protection using pure physicality.
WHOOSH!
Following closely, the tail swipe came in. Other party members attacking the Guardian were protected under shields, suffering no harm, while the girl redirected it using Backward Evasion.
CRASH!
The dragon’s claw scraped the ground as it quickly rose toward the girl.
If she blocked that, she would be sent soaring into the air.
The girl utilized both counterattack and backward evasion.
How would she respond?
ROAR!
She blocked the claw but was launched high into the air. The sight of the white girl fluttering in mid-air appeared precarious.
Swoosh.
In that moment, the Green Dragon opened its massive mouth, attempting to swallow the airborne girl.
It was a crisis.
Woo Gyeol almost shouted without realizing it. Was it really that hard without party protection?
SPIN.
Suddenly, the girl’s body completed a mid-air spin.
FLASH!
As she came down from the sky, her form slammed down, tearing from the dragon’s mouth edge, leaving a long, thin scar on its neck.
RRROOOAAAAARRR!!
For the first time, the Green Dragon let out a roar filled with agony.
THUD.
Simultaneously, the Guardian Golem that the ‘Hong Baek’ guild was dealing with fell to the ground.
While the party captured a single Guardian, the girl had essentially taken on the Green Dragon by herself.
That sound snapped Woo Gyeol back to reality.
He wasn’t the only one captivated by the girl’s movements. The core members of the GG Guild around him were also sweating in anticipation, watching intently.
“The Betarion Empire bastards are starting to move into the forest!”
With that report, Woo Gyeol returned to his duties as the guild master of GG Guild.
“Alright, core members of GG Guild listen up! We’ll thoroughly prevent the Plan B scum from making it this far into the woods!”
He had to protect the Hong Baek guild.
With the girl leading the charge, they clearly had what it took to clear the World Boss.
There were still quite a few individual users alive, but most wouldn’t escape from the first special pattern breath.
The GG Guild alliance would fend off Betarion Empire and Plan B.
The guild master of GG Guild, Woo Gyeol, shared a knowing glance with the raid leader Chris and pulled back to the front line of the Green Dragon strategy with his guild members.
RRROOOAAAAARRR!!
Even at the outskirts of the Berveia Forest, filled with massive trees, the roars of the Green Dragon echoed continuously.
RUMBLE!
The main forces of GG Guild were rushing toward the reported direction where the Plan B elite had entered.
The Betarion Empire users, having regained their composure, were indeed re-entering the forest.
If the PVP-equipped users reached the Green Dragon, the Hong Baek guild, wearing PVE gear, would struggle to continue their assault.
And before Woo Gyeol stood the opponent he had to block.
HEE HEE HEE!
With a mischievous laugh, the guild master of Plan B, ‘Kyuam Jo Hyun-Soo’, made his entrance.
Having returned from a raid leader position to the guild master of a war guild, he was fully equipped with a PVP setup to hunt users.
He sneered as he glared at Woo Gyeol. Woo Gyeol returned a confident smile.
“Plan B’s guild master, Kyuam Jo Hyun-Soo. You won’t make it to the Green Dragon.”
HEE HEE, “Once your raid gets wiped out, I’ll just occupy the forest and push you out gradually.”
“Is that so? We’re determined to take down the Green Dragon in this raid.”
Hyun-Soo’s expression twisted.
“What nonsense…. Fine. I’ll deal with the GG Guild members first, then think about that.”
As Hyun-Soo raised his hand, Plan B’s main forces revealed themselves, brandishing their weapons as they charged.
YAHHHHH!
In the Faction Battlefield, ‘Berveia Forest’, the battle for the conquest of the World Boss was about to erupt in earnest.
