Chapter 66: CHAPTER 64
The Bangtan Boys cover Seokjin's eyes all the way to their destination. They don't remove the blindfold when Namjoon and Yoongi go to the shop to get everything they need, and they don't remove it either when they walk him to their boat.
Nevertheless, Seokjin has always had a good hearing, and he gasps before Hoseok removes it. The redhead bellows with laughter, and Jimin ends up removing the birthday boy's blindfold.
"Woah, guys! Oh my god, this is too much! You didn't need to do all this!" Seokjin complains, but his big smile and red ears betray him.
A white and wooden boat, big enough for the seven boys, wobbles at the wave pace in front of him. The boys couldn't know because he has never opened up to them about it, but this is definitely how his dream boat looks like.
If they could only run away from their fate, if they could only live a normal life, maybe they could own one just like this, and spend their days in the middle of the ocean.
"You deserve everything and more, Seokjinnie." Jimin hugs him from behind. "Will you let us make you happy?"
"You've been making me happy for ages. If I could wish for one thing, it would be your endless love for me."
"Awwww Seokie!" Hoseok pouts at the elder's cuteness.
He walks to stand in front of Seokjin and pecks his lips.
"Yeah, we love love. Can we get going now?" Jungkook pleads, his hands hidden in his coat's pockets.
Yoongi chuckles and helps each one of them jump in safely. Yoongi unties the strings from the bollard, while Seokjin enters inside the captain's cabin, followed by Jimin and Jungkook.
Jungkook stays behind Seokjin, who stands in front of the steering wheel. "When did you learn how to pilot a boat?"
Seokjin bites his lower lip, taking off his coat and placing it on the nearest seat he finds. "My father taught me years ago, before I left."
"Really? That's amazing, Jin. Do you have any more hidden talents?"
Seokjin shakes his head with a half smile.
"Our Seokjinnie's always amazing." Jimin kisses Jin's cheek. "If you need me, I'm up. I want to try the Titanic pose with Taetae."
"Hold on, come here." Seokjin holds his boyfriend's hand and pulls him closer.
He pulls Jimin's zip all the day up, covering his mouth. "Be careful with the wind and if it gets too cold come down here, mm-hmm?"
Jimin nods and smiles with his eyes. He disappears and Seokjin lets out a soft sigh, but Jungkook hears it nonetheless.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't you want to go up, too?"
Jungkook shakes his head. "Too cold. Besides, I want to watch you piloting this thing."
Just as he finishes talking, Yoongi appears. "The kiddo's right. Taehyung and Jimin are crazy, they'll freeze all the way until we leave the coast behind."
Seokjin chuckles. "Let's not go too far, we could be in trouble and I don't want to be the reason you die."
"The weather's great, we'll be fine!"
Seokjin pilots until the coast becomes small behind them. Jungkook never takes his eyes off all his movements.
Jin's amazing.
Seokjin anchors the boat with Yoongi's help, and they meet everyone else outside.
The wind doesn't blow with the same intensity anymore, but Namjoon keeps hugging Hoseok, who sits in front of him.
"Shall we end up this wonderful day with a cosy indoor date?" Namjoon proposes, dimples showing.
They've been busy decorating the house, wrapping the gifts, and planning their boat date, that they forgot to plan the evening.
Luckily, they all can count in Hoseok.
"No worries, I've everything planned."
All the boys less Seokjin—who's busy preparing the fishing rod—turn their heads to him, eyebrows raised.
Hoseok giggles. "What?"
Namjoon places a kiss on top of his head. "Don't you get tired of saving our days every day, Hoba?"
Hoseok replies with another giggle, while the rest of the boys thank him silently.
Seokjin deserves the best birthday ever.

The boys come back home with a box full of fish, caught mostly by Seokjin and Yoongi. They both clean and prepare the fish to put them in the refrigerator, Seokjin planning mentally what dishes can he cook for the next few days.
They gather in the living room after they've all freshen up.
Jungkook's the first one to give Seokjin's his gift. "You may need it these days."
"Thank you, JK."
Seokjin hugs him and comes back to his seat next between Namjoon and Taehyung. He unfolds the wrapping paper carefully, and gasps as he reads the title of the book.
"Oh my god! Jungkook, a cooking book? Oh, thank you so much. Let's choose one tomorrow and cook together, mm-hmm?"
Jungkook nods energetically, enjoying Seokjin's company almost as much as he enjoys Jimin's.
"My turn!" Jimin raises his hand, and kneels in front of Seokjin.
"Is it another book?" Seokjin pats the object, but it's softer than the previous gift under his hands.
"Open it and you'll see." Jimin encourages him with a smile.
Seokjin gasps, covering his mouth. He turns the first page of the mini photo album. Jimin has titled it 'The Book of S & J'.
"Jiminie, this is so sweet. How did you do this? When did you do this? Oh my god, I didn't notice anything."
Jimin giggles and turns his head to Yoongi. "It's all thanks to Bae. If it weren't for him, I couldn't have printed all these pictures."
"It's nothing, really." Yoongi shakes his hands, downplaying his own efforts.
"Yoongs, you're a genius." Seokjin says, flipping through the album. "Can we look at it together later? I'd love to watch it with you."
Jimin cups his cheeks and pecks his lips. "I'd love to. I love you."
"I love you more." Seokjin smiles, following him with his eyes when Jimin comes back to his seat.
"Seokjinnie, happy birthday!"
Taehyung hands him a folded satin finish paper, wrapped in a thin black ribbon.
Seokjin unties the ribbon without damaging the paper. He rolls it carefully, and after a long second staring at the drawing his eyes become starry. In the painting, a black and white Taehyung hugs Seokjin, keeping his heart safe and warm.
"You're the sweetest, baby. As soon as we come back to our flat when everything's over, I'll frame it."
Taehyung smiles, his bread cheeks becoming more prominent. Seokjin cups his cheeks and kisses it plenty of times, before moving to his lips.
Hoseok walks towards Seokjin with a small light pink silk bag. He kneels down, resting his hands on Seokjin's knees. "Seokie, you'll never be alone."
Seokjin raises an eyebrow with a smile, as he opens it carefully. He takes hold of the pendant and rests the think golden heart on his palm. He caresses with his fingertip the word Infinity engraved in cursive. He turns it around, there's a 7 engraved in cursive as well.
"Seven?" Seokjin questions out of intrigue.
"We all can agree Jungkook's family now."
Seokjin chuckles. Jungkook places a hand on his chest, dramatically. "Wow, guys. It means a lot to me. I'll never forget you."
Jimin laughs along and Yoongi hits the younger with a pillow, a soft chuckle coming out of his lips. "Oh, shut up before I regret it."
Seokjin opens the heart and meets his own face and Namjoon's. He unfolds it again and finds Yoongi's and Hoseok's. He unfolds it again, and finds Taehyung and Jimin's. He unfolds the last piece and finds a picture of Jungkook.
"This is . . . Seokie, this is wonderful." Seokjin's smile grows wider. "Can you put it on for me?"
Hoseok takes the golden pendant in his hands and locks it around his boyfriend's neck. "We love you to infinity, baby."
Seokjin kisses him, his smile never disappearing.
"Should we get married when we come back?" the birthday boy blurts out.
"Let's get married in Las Vegas." Yoongi proposes with a smirk. "Jungkook can be the witness."
"Unless he wants to join us." Taehyung mutters to himself.
All the boys turn his head at him, Jungkook with his eyebrows raised.
"What?" Taehyung shrugs. "Why no one gets my jokes?"
Hoseok giggles and comes back to his seat. "You're special, bubba. We do get your jokes."
The others giggle along, but it doesn't last long. Jimin studies Taehyung for a moment, while Taehyung keeps his eyes on Jungkook, and Jungkook on him.
Namjoon clears his throat and wraps an arm around Seokjin's shoulder. He gives him an envelope. "That's my present for you this year, Jinnie."
Seokjin studies it without opening it. "What is it, Joonie? A letter?"
Namjoon shakes his head. "Something similar—but you've to promise me you'll open it before you go to sleep today. I want it to be the last gift you receive. I poured all my heart and thoughts, all my love and my fear, so keep it safe."
Seokjin intertwines their fingers with his free hand. "Promise you're going to be with me."
* * *
The boys sang Happy Birthday to Seokjin and he blew out the candles after making three wishes. They moved the sofas to a corner and had an indoor picnic for dinner—Jungkook and Yoongi made one of the recipes in the cookbook. Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook made sure the lights in the living room created the warmest winter night ambience.
Namjoon comes over Seokjin's room when the celebration ends. He gets inside the covers next to the birthday boy, biting his lips as Seokjin opens the white envelope. He covers his face with his hands for a moment, shyly.
Seokjin unfolds the paper. "You get the best of me."
Namjoon's hums. "I wanted to name it, it wasn't hard to come up with the idea."
Seokjin kisses his cheek and takes a breath, his heart skipping a bit because of the long script.
He reads it internally,
"When you say that you love me
I walk above the clouds
tell me about eternity one more time.
When you say that you love me
all I need is that one phrase.
That you'll never change, just one more time.
You're like the whole world to me
hug me harder and more painfully
that something that we shared
and you can't make it nothing.
I hope that you don't forget that you're my
day by day
summer, winter
even if you don't know."
Tears threaten to roll down Seokjin's face, he stops to look at Namjoon. The dimple guy smiles shyly and rests a hand on the elder's thigh, squeezing it gently.
Seokjin keeps reading,
"You got the best of me.
You got the best of me.
You got the best of me,
so please just don't leave me.
You got the best of me.
Even though I haven't seen my limit
but if it exists, It's probably you.
I wanted to be the tender waves
but why didn't I know you were the sea?
What do I do?
I speak with your language
and I breathe in your air.
I'll be you, I'll be in your grasp
as I kiss your sword.
So take my hand right now
I don't believe that I'm like this
the words I've said to myself a million times.
Please don't leave me,
you got the best of me, you got the best of me.
It's not important if it's a dream or reality
only the fact that you're by my side."
Seokjin doesn't suppress his tears after reading the last words.
"Day by day
summer, winter
even if you may be unaware.
You got the best of me.
You got the best of me,
so please just don't leave me.
You got the best of me.
You're my savior, you're my window
all I need is you
I need you
you got the best of me.
I used to rain
I used to snow
I stop all the misfortune
and I bring the heavens.
Don't speak of it so lightly
there's no me without you.
You're the best of me, the best of me.
You just give me the confidence within myself,
that's all I wanted.
There may not be rules between us
but the way to love exists.
Who got the best of me? Who got the best of me?
No one knows, but I know me,
you are my best master.
You got the best of me.
You got the best of me,
so please just don't leave me.
You got the best of me.
You're my savior, you're my window
all I need is you
I need you.
You got the best of me.
When you say that you love me
I walk above the clouds
tell me of eternity, just one more time.
When you say that you love me
all I need is that one phrase.
That you'll never change, just one more time."
Seokjin's a sobbing mess after reading the feelings Namjoon poured into the paper. He hugs it tightly against his chest, more tears streaming down his face.
"Please just don't leave me, Jinnie." Namjoon mumbles, to close the circle of his words.
His hand still holding the paper, Seokjin hugs Namjoon like a Koala, sitting on his lap. Namjoon draws patterns on his back, kissing his shoulder tenderly.
Seokjin recovers his breath after a few minutes. He lets go of the paper and pulls away, his arms wrapped around Namjoon's neck.
"I'll never leave you, Joonie. Don't ever think that again, not even as a joke. I'd choose you over and over again. I wish you could look at yourself with my eyes, that's the only way you could understand what you mean to me. I wish I could put into words, but I can't."
Namjoon caresses his waist with one hand, while the other plays with his hair at the back of his head. "You don't need to, love. I find the answer in your eyes, don't ever take your eyes off mine, alright?"
Seokjin kisses him deeply, opening his mouth for him. Namjoon slides his tongue in, exploring every corner. Seokjin moans softly, burying his fingers in Namjoon's hair.
"I want you to make love to me tonight." Seokjin breaths against his lips, his cheeks flushed.
"Tonight, and all the nights you want, little prince."
