Kagome woke to the realization that it wasn't all a dream, but thankfully she woke up alone. She sighed and then stretched her arms above her head.

"Hiya!"

"Ahh!" Kagome sat up, being startled by Ayame.

Ayame titled her head to the side, and Kagome watched as her pig tales swayed. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you,"

Kagome touched her head with one hand. "No, it's ok,"

Ayama walked in and offered Kagome a hand. She was glad for the help because it had been some time since she slept on the ground.

"Did I oversleep?" She could not tell what time it was,

"Lord Sesshomaru said to let you rest, but it is not too late,"

Of course, he did.

"Ayame, is there water nearby? I think I need to wash my face to wake up," She highly doubted the wolf tribe had coffee.

Ayame pointed the way. "Want me to come with you?"

"I'm ok, thanks; I'm sure you are busy," Kagome walked away, and Ayame smiled softly and made her way back to Kouga.

Kagome washed her face, the cold water waking her up. She took in a deep breath as she looked around. This was her world now, and it was different now, knowing she had no way of getting back to her birth time other than living long enough to reach it, and even then, who knew? Suddenly she missed her mother, which made her think of being a mother, which made her think about everything she heard last night.

She shook her head; even with his knowledge, there was no way he was serious; he had to be messing with Kouga. Sure, Sesshomaru was a very logical person, but she could not wrap her head around what she heard.

No, the best thing to do was to act like she heard nothing.

A branch snapped, and Kagome spun around, and she swore she saw a blur of red "Inuyasha!" She ran calling after him, not paying any mind to where she was going, running out of the forest and right to a cliff "INu-

Sesshomaru wrapped his hand around her waist and yanked her back. "Miko!"

Kagome was panting, not realizing how close to death she actually was, but it made her wonder if she had gone over, would Inuyasha save her?

"Miko!" Sesshomaru snapped,

"I saw Inuyasha,"

Sesshomaru's hold on her loosened as he tipped his nose up into the air and sniffed. "You are mistaken,"

Kagome looked back at him and then took note of her position, her back against him; she looked away and blushed.

A long red feather bird flew by with a loud call, and Kagome watched it; it looked like a red flying peacock, and she knew instantly that the bird was what she saw. She felt stupid.

"You got to me fast," She said, her shoulders slumping,

"The female wolf told me you were awake,"

"I thought it was him,"

"I have told you before to use your senses and do not let your guard down; you have done both of those things within minutes,"

He let go of her,

"Immortal or not, a fall from that cliff would kill you," Was it her, or was his words a little colder than normal?

The wind blew, and her eyes gazed at his hair before going back to his eyes, and those golden eyes were very angry and locked on her.

"Sorry,"

"I do not need your apologies Miko," He turned,

Now that was the Sesshomaru she knew,

"Come,"

She followed like a sad down with a tail between her legs, even though he was very clearly the only dog here.

Of course, Kouga coming up to sweep her off her feet, had her imaginary tail wagging.

"Kouga!"

"I woke you thinking it was all a dream, but here you are!" Kouga smiled brightly.

"Wolf, put her down," Sesshomaru said, crossed, armed.

Kouga placed Kagome back on her feet.

"Are you excited for the day?" Kagome asked,

"Even more so now that you are here to witness it,"

Kagome smiled, and they hugged again before Kouga pushed back. "Well, I have to go; it's time,"

Kagome waved him off as he made his way back to his mate and oldest son.

"Careflul Miko, you will give the wolf the wrong idea,"

"What wrong idea?"

"The wolf is one hug away from claiming you as his woman again,"

Kagome's mouth dropped open "He's married!"

"Wolves often take more than one mate,"

"Ayame would not allow it,"

He raised an eyebrow,

"Dont look at me like that. I wouldn't allow it!"

"Perhaps you should have stated that first,"

"I didn't think I needed to!"

They looked away from each other as many wolf tribes started to gather around.

"Your father had two mates, didn't he,"

Kagome was almost certain having both her and Kikyo as wives ran through Inuyasha's mind; she was glad he never asked because that would have not only pissed others off, it would have broken her heart even more.

"No,"

Kagome looked at him,

"My mother and father's union was further our bloodline, nothing more, nothing less,"

"They were not mates?"

Yes and no, it depended on who you asked, but his father never marked his other nor claimed her, but he did respect her and protected her.

"No,"

"I hate that,"

"What," He asked, neither really listening to what Kouga was saying to the crowd,

"I'd rather be alone and heartbroken."

He understood what she was saying,

"It is a practice most no longer practice,"

Kagome looked at him,

"Though I do not put it past the wolf to try,"

Kagome giggled,

The crowd erupted with cheers and claps, and howls as Kouga put his kid on his shoulders. This made Kagome smile but also made her think of Inuyasha again and his child.

Inuyasha had a child.

Time was cruel, the jewel was cruel, her wish got twisted, and it should have been no surprise.

Inuyasha was a dad, Miroku was a dad, Kouga was a dad, and sooner or later, Sesshomaru would be a dad. Her eyes slid to him, and their eyes met.

The things he said last night about mating her crept back into her mind, and she had to look away; thankfully, Kouga and Ayame were walking up.

"Congratulations," KAgome beamed.

"Hey, Kagome, can we talk to you?"

Kagome tilted her head; he didn't need to ask. "Sure,"

"Come, let's eat while we talk," Ayame took Kagome's arm, and they led the way, Kouga and the kid following.

"You coming?" Kouga asked

Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow,

"It does involve you, well it might involve you,"

"How so?"

Kouga smirked,

Sesshomaru followed; he wasn't going to miss this for anything.

Kouga was about to ask Kagome for her firstborn daughter for his son.

Her answer could be the start of the future she read about, and she probably would not even put two and two together,
