Chapter 3: CH 3
A turntable appeared in front of Bai Yu's eyes.
The sections were labeled: Creatures, Items, Abilities, Information, Concepts, Energy—a six-section turntable.
The pointer quickly stopped at the Abilities section.
As the turntable disappeared, Bai Yu felt as if he had glimpsed countless worlds and countless figures.
He saw all kinds of strange and powerful abilities demonstrated by countless illusory figures—abilities that made Bai Yu envious.
Unfortunately, he couldn't pick or choose; it was completely random.
"Ding! Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the talent ability: Teleportation!"
Bai Yu frowned slightly. Teleportation? A space-based ability?
He clicked on the introduction.
Teleportation: Spatial Jump
1. Within the range of the Host's perception, bypass all obstacles and teleport freely, following your will.
2. The Host can carry objects that do not exceed their physical strength, bypass obstacles, and teleport freely within the range of perception.
3. The Host can leave spatial coordinates on locations or creatures, allowing for teleportation beyond the range of perception and return to those coordinates at will.
Costs stamina.
"Unlimited teleportation?"
After reading the introduction, Bai Yu was delighted.
"Move as you please?"
As fast as he thought, Bai Yu now had the potential to become the fastest man in the world!
With this ability, Bai Yu's combat power, speed, and survivability were drastically increased.
After all, as they say: "You can see me, but your body can't keep up with me!"
Even if someone's Observation Haki managed to track him, they would only catch his position for a fraction of a second before he disappeared again.
As long as Bai Yu's attack power was strong enough to break through his opponent's defenses, the battle could be over in a single instant.
One slash—end of story.
Having tasted the thrill of the lottery, Bai Yu immediately grew addicted. He turned his gaze to Nami, his eyes burning with intent.
"I'll only say this once: be my crew member, or else…"
Before Bai Yu could finish his sentence, Nami panicked and shouted, "I'll join! Don't kill me!"
Her voice trembled with fear; there wasn't a shred of hesitation in her tone.
She didn't want to die.
After all, she had only just met Luffy a few days ago, her 100 million berries weren't collected yet, and Arlong was still alive and ruling over her hometown. Nami had far too many unfinished dreams to lose her life now.
"Ding! Host has successfully recruited Nami as a crew member. Congratulations to the Host for earning another chance to draw from the Myriad Realms!"
Bai Yu was satisfied, whether her agreement was genuine or not.
"Ah, very good."
Bai Yu smiled brightly, his eyes softening. Speaking gently, he added, "Don't worry. My crew is my family. As long as you don't betray me, everything will be fine. Understand, little sister Nami?"
"Uh-huh," Nami nodded quickly, though her heart was boiling with curses: "You bastard! Big bastard! Little sister?! How old do you think you are? You scared me to death! Devil bastard!"
Fortunately for her, Bai Yu couldn't hear her thoughts.
If he could, he might have ruffled her hair in retaliation for being so "uncute."
"Kaya, let's go."
"Okay! Goodbye, Mr. Merry!" Kaya waved to her butler, full of excitement.
Shortly after the Going Merry left Syrup Village, a roar echoed across the coast.
"DAMN IT! I'LL BEAT YOU UP!"
"FIGHT YOU A HUNDRED TIMES!"
Covered in bandages, Luffy pounded the ground angrily, furious at Bai Yu.
Nami was supposed to be his navigator—a crucial member of any crew.
Even though she had been halfhearted in her interactions with him, Luffy believed that time would forge their bond.
After all, when he was a kid, even Ace didn't like him at first, yet they had still become brothers.
"My sword…"
Zoro's eyes darkened as he looked at the spot where his Wado Ichimonji had once been. Then, with renewed determination, he said seriously, "Disasters will always follow us—that's the way of the world, Luffy. Did you hear me?"
"Next time, I won't lose again."
He didn't make excuses about being unprepared or careless. Losing was losing.
This small setback wasn't enough to break his spirit.
Meanwhile, Usopp was still trembling as he interrupted their fiery resolve:
"The ship… the ship was stolen. How are we supposed to go to sea now?"
Luffy: "…"
Zoro: "…"
Tired. Destroy it all.
On the sea…
Life on board was dull—especially for Bai Yu, who, as the de facto helmsman, found himself stuck listening to Nami's constant yelling.
"Ah! Are you a pig? Go that way!"
"Idiot! Use less force, or you'll break the rudder!"
"HEY! You can't even steer properly? Just jump into the sea!"
Bai Yu's eyelid twitched as Nami shouted at him like a demon possessed.
Meanwhile, Kaya, sitting nearby and reading a book, couldn't stop laughing.
"Is this revenge?" Bai Yu muttered.
Kaya thought so. Especially since Nami would sneak glances at Bai Yu's expression before yelling even louder.
"Do I really have to keep doing this to steer the ship?" Bai Yu asked helplessly, holding the rudder in place.
Nami, standing confidently with her hands on her hips and a juice in her hand, shouted back:
"What, do you think the ship will steer itself? If you don't control the rudder, the direction will go haywire!"
Bai Yu sighed and drew his sword.
"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Nami yelled, startled, as she hid behind Kaya. "Didn't you say we're all family? YOU LIED TO ME!"
Ignoring her, Bai Yu drove his sword into the rudder, fixing it in place.
"…That works?" Nami muttered, dumbfounded, realizing she had overlooked something so simple.
But she quickly regained her confidence and retorted, "That won't work for long! The winds at sea can change at any time!"
"I know."
Bai Yu sat down, sipping his juice.
"Since we're all family, let's introduce ourselves. Name, age, hobbies, dreams, and so on. Kaya, you go first."
