Chapter 7
**Dungeon Food Truck Owner Episode 7**
She shot a glare at the black cat, feeling incredulous. She had received a strange stone instead of money from her first customer, and now it was making comments.
“Still, it’s a relief they counted as a customer, right?”
<9 left.>
She had thought she would leave empty-handed from the fourth floor of the dungeon, so perhaps she was lucky after all.
Now, only about an hour remained.
Once closing time arrived, she would be able to leave the dungeon, and she hoped that when she re-entered, she would move to a place with more people. Just then, she spotted a familiar silhouette again.
It was the man who had just disappeared into the darkness.
“Was there a problem with the sandwich?”
“Yes, there is a bit of a problem.”
The man, now holding an empty packaging container, had approached the counter with a smile, saying there was an issue with the sandwich.
“The problem is that it was too delicious. It’s my first time eating such fresh and tasty sandwiches inside a dungeon.”
“Excuse me…?”
It wasn’t just flattery. The sandwich, which was fuller than any she had eaten before, was perfectly balanced with well-cooked bacon, juicy eggs, and crispy lettuce and tomatoes.
Seeing the man’s relaxed expression ease her tension, he gazed longingly at the sandwiches displayed.
‘9 left…’
“I’m glad you enjoyed it!”
Seeing Ji-eun’s bright smile, the man said, “I came to buy another one. Is that possible?”
Pointing to one of the remaining nine sandwiches on the display, the man spoke. Ji-eun’s face, which had been beaming with joy at the compliment, turned expressionless in an instant.
“Sir, you said you didn’t have any money?”
“Even if I don’t have money, I have other things. Let’s barter.”
“Ugh… barter?”
“Yes, you mentioned earlier that you need to sell to ten customers, right?”
“Yes, that’s correct.”
“So I came to propose a deal. I don’t know what’s going on, but it seems like you need ten customers for a quest, and I can provide those ten customers for you.”
“What do you mean?”
She stared blankly at the man, not understanding what he was saying, but it seemed he had caught on to the quest’s details.
Despite her doubts, the man continued with his proposal.
“I’ll take care of the remaining nine customers for you.”
“Excuse me?”
“If the same person comes ten times in a day, they’re still counted as a customer, right? It’s the same as boosting your sales.”
“Ah!”
“If I buy one more now, I’ll be the second customer, right?”
With his confident statement pointing at the sandwich on display, Ji-eun quickly opened the quest window to check the details.
[New Quest: Sell Food to 10 Customers]
– Current Progress: 10% (1/10)
Confirming the quest details once again, which simply stated to sell food to ten customers, there was no mention that they had to be different customers, so a returning customer wouldn’t be counted out.
“Am I right?”
“Yes, I think so.”
At Ji-eun’s response, the man smiled brightly, pointing to the first sandwich remaining on the display.
“Let’s make a deal. Meeting someone in this vast dungeon is quite a stroke of luck.”
“Umm…”
Despite Ji-eun’s skeptical expression, the man continued nonchalantly.
“I’ll go back and forth nine times from now on. The door to your shop is probably that red line on the ground over there.”
“The line?”
Suddenly, the man pointed to the red line, claiming it was the shop door.
Ji-eun shook her head.
“No, that’s just a safety zone marker.”
“Let’s test it anyway. I’ll give you this, so could you sell me one more sandwich?”
What the man pulled out from his pocket was a gold coin, about the size of a 500-won coin.
It looked slightly faded as if it were old, but it sparkled in the light, appearing genuine.
“Is that real gold?”
“Yes, I think so.”
“You want to trade one sandwich for that gold? Why?”
“I’m completely out of food, and this is all I have.”
“…”
Is there really such a thing as a golden coin?
With a smile, the man offered the gold coin to Ji-eun.
“So, how about we trade one sandwich for one gold coin for nine transactions?”
It was a deal where she wouldn’t lose anything.
If the gold coin the man held was indeed real, selling a sandwich without any material costs and receiving a gold coin in return was a fantastic deal.
‘What’s the current gold price?’
Having thought that far, Ji-eun opened the display case and grabbed a sandwich to hand to the man.
“Alright! Let’s make the deal.”
As she handed over the sandwich and received the gold coin, an alert rang out, confirming that the quest details had been updated as expected.
[Quest Progress: 20% (2/10)]
“It’s real… the progress went up!”
“Glad to hear that.”
As the man said this with a smile, the sandwich he held disappeared in an instant. It seemed he had placed it directly into his inventory.
Though she wasn’t sure if sandwiches counted as items, it appeared they were treated as possessions since they could go into the inventory. It was a relief that there was no worry of spoilage as long as it was in the inventory.
“Um, excuse me, but I have something I want to test.”
Ji-eun decided to experiment with her newly formed question regarding this first and second customer.
“I’m curious if selling again right away will count as a new customer or an additional order from the same customer.”
“Oh, that’s definitely worth testing.”
Nodding at Ji-eun’s words, the man took out another gold coin from his pocket without hesitation and handed it to her.
This time, she received the gold coin and handed over another sandwich, but unlike the previous time, there was no response from the system window.
“Is it working?”
“No, the progress didn’t go up. It seems to be counted as an additional order from the same customer.”
Returning the gold coin to the man and naturally receiving another sandwich, Ji-eun looked at the red line that marked the safety zone.
“Could you step out and come back in?”
“Outside that red line, right?”
“Yes, I want to see if that
is the shop ‘door’ as you said.”
The results of the experiment were fantastic.
That red line, which she had thought was just a safety zone marker, indeed served as the ‘door’ to her shop.
[Quest Progress: 30% (3/10)]
As the man stepped outside the red line and then returned, Ji-eun handed him a sandwich and received the gold coin, causing the progress alert to ring out.
This meant that everything inside the red line was considered the shop’s interior.
Customers who had entered the shop would not be counted as new unless they exited through the red line and returned; they would be seen as making an “additional order.”
Feeling very pleased to have discovered this unexpected hidden secret, Ji-eun smiled brightly.
This was already the ninth time he had gone back and forth across the red line.
As the man stood in front of the display case for the final transaction, he looked at Ji-eun and smiled.
“You seem very happy.”
“Yes, thanks to you, I’ve learned a lot.”
“And now the quest is complete.”
As Ji-eun handed over the last tenth sandwich and received the gold coin, the alert rang out, indicating that the quest was completed with 100% progress.

As the notification confirming the completion of the tutorial appeared along with the contents of the parchment unfolding before her, Ji-eun felt that she had truly become a completely awakened being.
“Congratulations on completing the quest.”
“Ah!”
As she looked at the man who had been instrumental in helping her clear the tutorial, she bowed her head slightly.
“Thank you so much.”
“I should thank you too. I managed to make it to the center of the fourth floor, but I was out of food and was struggling. Now I have at least ten more meals.”
“Are you planning to stay in the dungeon longer?”
“Yes, now that I have food.”
As she watched the man smile while shaking the tenth sandwich he had purchased, she made a decision after a moment of contemplation.
“Well, since you helped me finish my quest and taught me about the sales rules I didn’t know, can I offer you some service?”
“Service?”
“I know it sounds weird coming from me, but even if the sandwiches are delicious, eating the same thing ten times can get boring.”
“Hmm… I don’t think I’d get tired of it.”
“I’ll quickly prepare a few different dishes for you!”
While her inventory only contained bacon, eggs, tomatoes, lettuce, and bread, it was enough to make other dishes.
“Actually, I don’t have much time, so I can’t make a lot, but I’ll make it quickly. Please wait a moment.”
There were only 30 minutes left until closing time.
If she had known this would happen, she would have set the operating hours until 5:30 PM. Now, she genuinely regretted that there were only 30 minutes left until closing.
He was such a grateful first customer. It was lucky to have received a customer on the fourth floor of the dungeon, and he had kindly participated in various experiments, helping her complete the tutorial.
Suddenly, Ji-eun thought it would be nice to meet this man again inside the dungeon.
After all, he was essentially the first customer to come ten times in one day and had become a regular.
“What’s your name?”
As the man watched her hurriedly take out eggs and bacon from her inventory with interest, he opened his eyes wide at Ji-eun’s question and pointed to himself.
“Me?”
“Yes, I’m so grateful. I’ll remember your name and call you next time you come by.”
You know that calling your name means you’re officially a regular, right? The man, looking at Ji-eun, who was smiling brightly, couldn’t help but laugh.
“Ha… haha.”
“Why are you laughing? You’re now a regular customer who visited ten times on opening day!”
“Being a regular is nice. I’m Song Juhyuk.”
“I’m Min Ji-eun.”
“Ah, so it’s Ji-eun’s food truck.”
As Juhyuk spoke, Ji-eun, who was pouring oil onto the grill, nearly stumbled. She felt she should never mention the name of her shop again.
Being called “Ji-eun’s Food Truck” by others felt quite embarrassing.
“Don’t tease me. Do you like bacon egg rolls?”
“I do.”
“How about tomato stew?”
“I like it.”
“What don’t you like?”
“I don’t have anything I don’t like. Honestly, I like everything as long as I can eat it.”
“What’s that?”
Ji-eun burst into laughter at Juhyuk’s words as she busily moved her hands.
Hearing Ji-eun’s cheerful laughter, Juhyuk soon began to smile along with her.
In the pitch-black darkness.
The laughter coming from the only food truck glowing faintly in the dark dungeon continued for a while without ceasing.
