Chapter 20
**Dungeon Food Truck Owner – Chapter 20**
People were just staring at Ji-eun, who directly asked where Juhyeok’s office was, with a “Whatever” attitude.
After a moment, as if they were pressed for time, the office workers quickly lost the interest and began to go to their own business.
While Ji-eun was looking at the building directory on the lobby wall, hoping to find the guild leader’s office, she suddenly turned around in surprise at a low voice.
“Why are you looking for the guild leader’s office?”
“Ahhh!”
Startled, Ji-eun swung the chicken bag she was holding, but the man, who seemed to have anticipated her reaction, stepped back leisurely, covering his ears with both hands.
“Was my voice that scary?”
“Is that even a question right now?!”
The low, husky voice echoed in her ears, sending chills down her spine.
As Ji-eun looked up at the towering man, she realized that it wasn’t just the voice that was frightening.
He was easily over 2 meters tall, even larger than the guards she had encountered before entering the lobby.
His bulging arm muscles made the clothes he wore look almost pitiful. A large scar running diagonally across his face from his left temple only added to the intimidating presence of this massive man.
The face looking down at her was one Ji-eun had seen several times on the Hunter bulletin board.
Kim Sung-jin, the deputy leader of the Cheongmyeong Guild, ranked No. 5 locally and No. 12 globally—a celestial-level hunter.
As she instinctively took a step back, Sung-jin raised his hand and placed it on his chest, prompting Ji-eun to retreat even further as if she had seen something she shouldn’t have.
“Your height seems to match, so that’s one thing checked off.”
“Uh?”
“Is your name Min Ji-eun?”
“Yes, but how did you know my name…?”
“Age: twenty? Twenty-one? You look younger than that.”
“I’m… twenty-one.”
“Height, age, and name all match. Now there’s just one thing left.”
“What… what’s left?”
Getting closer made him even scarier. He was completely terrifying.
Ji-eun recalled comments on the Hunter bulletin board questioning how anyone could think Kim Sung-jin was a strategist given his physique and looks.
The comments below were even more outrageous.
[New!] Aren’t strategists usually brainy types?
[Kim Sung-jin_jpg]
But what kind of hybrid is he?
He’s a strategist, but not just a physical type, more like a muscle type… It’s hard to even call him a brainy type with that physique;;; A muscle strategist who can take all the hits in front while issuing commands on the spot is too OP, isn’t it?
┗ I sometimes lower my gaze when I see Kim Sung-jin’s photos because he’s scary…
┗ What’s so scary? Our Sung-jin is smiling brightly right now!
┗ ?????????????
┗ Are we looking at the same photo? His expression is terrible.
┗ He usually looks worse than that; this is a happy state.
The comments below were even more ridiculous.
┗ Kim Sung-jin must have an easy life; he could probably break through a raid even if it gets blocked.
┗ If you have a good body, you don’t have to worry about your head, haha.
┗ I can agree with that.
Standing in front of the enormous muscles and fierce face that felt threatening even in photos, Ji-eun felt incredibly small.
“By the way, Min Ji-Eun.”
“Yes? Yes? What is it?”
“Do you happen to have a food truck?”
“Yikes!”
As Sung-jin bent down, his scarred face came into clearer view, and he frowned slightly while mentioning the food truck, making his already fierce look even more intimidating.
Ji-eun’s eyes widened as she noticed an abnormal shadow looming over her feet.
Just yesterday, she had been bedridden with a severe flu. Plus, she had struggled for a long time with her phone’s map trying to find the Cheongmyeong Guild headquarters.
Her already poor physical condition, combined with being startled by such a scary person who knew her personal information and then mentioned the food truck, made her head spin.
In an instant, her overloaded brain turned blank, and everything faded to black.
Seeing Ji-eun about to faint, Sung-jin stretched out his large hand with a very flustered expression and shouted,
“Hey! Miss, what’s wrong? What did I do?!”
The staff and guild members watching the scene from a distance shook their heads and murmured.
“The deputy leader has scared another one away.”
“Seriously, he should think about his size and face. Did he really think that such a small girl could stand there calmly?”
Unaware of the staff and guild members shaking their heads at her, Ji-eun completely fainted, and Sung-jin awkwardly picked her up, trying to wake her.
“Hey, Ji-eun! Wake up! What did I do to make you faint? Ji-eun!”
Every time he shook her, he worried that she might just bounce away given how light she felt.
* * *
“So.”
“No, I just went down to the first floor to grab something to eat.”
“How does someone faint and get carried in? Explain it in detail.”
Sung-jin, pounding his chest in frustration, looked like a primate far removed from humanity.
“I went down to the first floor, and there’s this girl holding a chicken in one hand, advertising, ‘Does anyone know where Song Juhyeok’s office is?’”
“So you threatened her?”
“Come on, listen properly. When I saw her, I immediately thought she was the person you were looking for, so I just kindly asked why she was looking for the guild leader’s office.”
“And you did that with that face from behind?”
“What do you want me to do about my face? I just asked her to estimate her height and asked for her name and age. But she was exactly like the Ji-eun you mentioned.”
“Okay, so?”
“I cautiously whispered if she happened to have a food truck since it’s sensitive information. Then she suddenly fainted!”
Sung-jin wore a very wronged expression, questioning what he had done wrong.
Seeing him, one could easily misunderstand that he was threatening her to repay a loan, but Juhyeok nodded in understanding.
“You did something wrong.”
“No, what did I do?!”
“You need to look in the mirror and realize how you appear to others. At this rate, I can’t send you to the guild meeting.”
“Why? What are the other guild members saying now?”
“They’re all calling to complain about the peace negotiations, my friend. You’re smart, so why can’t you see yourself objectively with that head of yours?”
“Is there anyone as kind as me who would say something like that? That was very rude of you.”
“Fine, just go. I’m grateful to you, but I can’t have her faint again from looking at my face.”
“That was the second rude comment you made today!”
Despite her words, Sung-jin glanced at Ji-eun, who was lying on the sofa and left the guild leader’s office, scratching the back of his head.
Sung-jin, who could meticulously plan boss raids with precise analysis and create strategies to clear paths to the boss room in the shortest time possible, tended to struggle with self-objectivity, which led to this incident.
Juhyeok, cautiously rising from his chair, looked down at Ji-eun, who showed no signs of regaining her senses.
Meeting in the center of the fourth floor felt like some twist of fate; he never imagined that a level 1 non-combat awakener selling sandwiches from a food truck would be here.
“I guess you remembered my name.”
While others could recognize him just by the sword in his hand, Ji-eun scolded him to put it down with a clueless expression. Juhyeok couldn’t help but smile.
“Hmm…”
As Ji-eun seemed to be waking up, Juhyeok quickly sat down on the opposite sofa and pretended to shuffle through some documents he had already reviewed, making a noise to draw her attention.
“Ah! I’m sorry!”
Realizing she was lying down, Ji-eun shouted and sat up.
She remembered locking eyes with the monster-like Sung-jin when he mentioned the food truck, but everything after that was a blur.
“Wow, I fainted?”
Seeing Ji-eun mumble in disbelief, Juhyeok, who was pretending to work seriously, couldn’t hold back his laughter.
“Sung-jin’s face can be a bit intimidating, right?”
“Ah! Song Juhyeok!”
“I received the chicken well. I thought you only ran the food truck, but it seems you also do delivery?”
“I was thinking of how to get into the guild leader’s office when I… Well, no one in Korea doesn’t order chicken, right? Do you happen to dislike chicken?”
“Not at all. I love it.”
“Um, is Kim Sung-jin not here right now?”
“I sent him away. You must have been quite startled. I’ve been friends with that guy for 20 years, and I still get surprised every time I see him in the dark.”
Ji-eun laughed heartily at his words. She playfully scolded Juhyeok, saying that fainting was a bit much, even if she was surprised.
After all, she had fainted from shock after he had scared her.
“Oh, my stomach hurts. I feel like I’m going to burst…”
“Have you finished laughing?”
“Yes, I can’t laugh anymore.”
“Then I’d like to hear about the real reason you came to see me.”
With that, Juhyeok put the stack of documents he had been pretending to read on the table and stood up from the sofa.
“Shall we talk while eating the chicken you brought for lunch?”
It would be a shame if the chicken got cold.
Ji-eun nodded at Juhyeok’s suggestion. Since it was lunchtime anyway, it wouldn’t be bad to eat the chicken while talking.
Just as she was about to take a bite of the warm chicken leg with a fluttering heart
“Did you come because of the gatestone I gave you?”
“Cough!”
Before she even had a chance to speak about her reason for coming, Ji-eun choked on her chicken leg, surprised that he had figured it out so easily.
“Excuse me, Song Juhyeok. Can we at least eat the chicken before we start talking?”
