Chapter 131: Florida Man Volunteers to Bath In Nuclear Reactor’s Radiation Light, Says He’s Training to Become “Super Florida Man”
The pool, now filled with steaming hot water, felt like paradise after the cold rain. The warmth seeped into Felix's tired muscles, easing away the tension of his recent battles.
But it wasn't just the heat that made the experience special. It was the company.
Sharing the hot spring with Jiji, his lamia companion, made everything better. After cleaning off the grime from their recent adventures, they eventually found themselves in bed, where exhaustion caught up with them. Felix was out for a full 24 hours as his mind and body was in desperate need of rest.
…
When Felix finally woke up, the day had already begun without him. The room was empty. Jiji had risen earlier and was nowhere to be seen.
Felix sat up, collecting his thoughts. Now that he was back home, it was time to focus on his future goals. There was still so much to do, from collecting lifespan to purchase Dim Philosophy Stone in the store to finally checking some unexplored system features. Not to mention the daily quests he had been neglecting. With a clearer mind and renewed energy, he stood up, ready to tackle the tasks ahead.
He left his bedroom and wandered into the kitchen, where a surprising sight greeted him.
A naked Jiji was there. Her serpentine body coiled as she worked. Sweat glistened on her scales and human skin as she used water bubbles to clean the dusty floors and furniture. From her appearance, it seemed that she had been working for hours.
"Have you eaten anything yet?" Felix asked, realizing he hadn't restocked the fridge since they'd returned. He wasn't sure if she'd managed to eat breakfast.
Jiji paused, wiping the sweat from her brow. "No, not really. Aside from the mana you provide, I haven't eaten any solid food."
"Let me fix that," Felix offered, checking his inventory for supplies. Though options were limited, he managed to pull out some instant MRE meals. He quickly prepared a warm curry dish and set it on a plate for Jiji. The savory aroma filled the kitchen, spreading through the ventilation system.
Suddenly, a loud bang echoed from the ducts. A one-foot long, two-headed hydra—Eins and Zwei—burst through a filter plate, flicking their tongues in anticipation of the delicious smell.
Felix couldn't help but laugh. "Guess you want some too?"
Soon, they all gathered around the dining room table for their meal. Jiji, though she had eaten Felix's cooking before, found it especially delicious in the peaceful atmosphere of home. The cozy setting seemed to enhance every bite. She couldn't stop asking for more—second, third, fourth, all the way to her twentieth serving.
Felix ate five plates himself, needing the sustenance to replenish his mental reserves. Even Eins and Zwei, despite their small size, feasted and shared two sets between them.
As they finished, everyone sat back, smiling with satisfaction. Their bellies bloated from the feast. Everybody exchanged glances, and before long, they were all laughing together—content, comfortable, and finally at ease.
In their minds, they wished a peaceful day like this could last forever.
.
.
A day had passed since Felix awoke, and the sky above the Dragoon Empire was shrouded in an eerie twilight.
The Purple Moon and Bright Moon had aligned, with the former eclipsing both the sun and the shining silver moon. Dim light flickered across the empire, reflected by two other moons as they bathed the world in a strange, ethereal glow.
The eclipse, which should have lasted only minutes, had now stretched on for hours, showing no sign of the anomaly ending. The moons seemed frozen in place as if time itself had stopped.
…
Black Forest
In the cursed woods, the lamias gazed up at the strange sky. Only the Purple Moon and its two dim counterparts were visible, casting violet rays that soaked the land in a sickly purple hue.
Under this cursed light, the lamias found themselves invigorated. Their energy surged as their sexual drive reached new heights.
Over the past days, the unnatural light had driven their desires to an uncontrollable frenzy. They repeatedly visited their livestock farms, where captives—once humans—were used as nothing more than tools to satisfy their desires. Many of these unfortunate souls mutated or died from the brutal treatment.
The lamias had grown reckless. With their food supply depleted from ravaging their own farms, hunting parties were sent out, ignoring the orders of their queen, Diana.
The hunting groups spread across the empire. Some came upon the ruins of the battlefield where Felix had fought the Megalith Dragon, while others ventured into the once-proud city that had belonged to the Turo family.
In the ransacked city, those too poor to flee were easy prey. The lamias feasted on their flesh, replenishing their dwindling food supply with human bodies.
Their hunger unsatisfied, the lamia forces began pushing beyond their usual territory, venturing into neighboring kingdoms. The majority moved northward, seeking out the riches of the open sea, where they hoped to find bountiful food in the coastal regions.
Back in the Black Forest, however, Tanaka—once a man full of ambition—had fallen into despair. He had locked himself away in Diana's cave, submitting entirely to his queen's whims.
Shackled by his wrists and ankles to the cave wall, he was little more than a plaything. Diana, immune to the curse of the Purple Moon, exploited the situation.
With a calm and methodical demeanor, she extracted Tanaka's seed over and over again. She had already filled ten clay bowls with his essence, enough to fertilize a million eggs and create an entire new tribe of lamias. Yet, she continued her work without pause.
For Diana, this was not just about reproduction. She had a grander plan, one she kept hidden even from her own people.

Diana let out a long, heavy sigh as she reread the quest menu on her system screen. The weight of her decision bore down on her shoulders, and doubt crept into her mind.
Summoning a calamity upon the land, just to defeat Shin Tanaka and weaken the other system users, had seemed like the only option at the time. But now, standing amidst the destruction she had unleashed, the guilt was becoming unbearable. The world beneath the cursed moons had spiraled into chaos, and countless lives were paying the price.
She closed her eyes, biting her lower lip.
"I had no choice," she whispered to herself, her voice trembling as if saying it aloud would make it more true. "I had to do this."
Her thoughts turned to the prophecy that had guided her actions—the words of Goddess Zhu Qiao echoed in her mind, haunting and inescapable.
The goddess had foretold of the Demon God's resurrection, his reincarnation in this very world. Diana knew her role was far from over. She had to prepare the perfect vessel for the dark god's arrival.
The calamity, the sacrifices, the devastation—all of it was for this single purpose.
The guilt twisted inside her, but it could not outweigh the sense of duty. She was the chosen one, entrusted with the task of securing the future of the Demon God. Everything she had done, no matter how cruel, was for the greater purpose.
'There is no turning back, I must build the strongest vessel, even if it means the destruction of this world.'

Meanwhile, Felix, Jiji, Eins, and Zwei remained unaffected by the cursed moonlight, thanks to the protective barrier surrounding their home. The barrier negated the effects of the purple curse, allowing them to carry on with their routine.
Jiji, taking on the role of housekeeper, busied herself with various chores, while the mischievous hydra, Eins and Zwei, splashed around in the rooftop pool. Their laughter echoed through the air.
Felix, however, was tucked away in the battery room, puffing on a regular cigarette. He had decided to avoid cigars for now as they were too risky indoors with the others around.
The steady stream of smoke curled upward as he relaxed, knowing that even though it was a small habit, it was still helping him gain a bit more lifespan with each minute.
As the nicotine hit, Felix glanced at his system screen. There was a feature he had been neglecting for a while, something he'd intended to explore but kept pushing aside. Now, with a rare moment of quiet, he decided it was time to finally dive into it.
