Flames of unity: A dragon riders quest

Chapter 3: Chapter 1: A Hero’s End, A New Beginning

The night sky was illuminated by the bright glow of streetlights as Adam sprinted down the desolate road. The sounds of screeching tires and a distant scream pierced the air, sending adrenaline coursing through his veins. His sharp eyes caught sight of a car skidding toward a woman and her young daughter, frozen in fear at the center of the crosswalk. Without hesitation, Adam surged forward, his body moving faster than his mind could comprehend.

He shoved the woman and her child out of harm's way with a strength born of desperation. The impact hit him instead—hard and unforgiving. Pain seared through his body, but he managed to smile weakly as he saw the girl clutching her mother tightly, tears streaming down their faces. "They're safe," he thought before darkness consumed him.

Adam opened his eyes to a serene, endless expanse of white. The pain was gone, replaced by a strange sense of peace. A figure stood before him, radiant and imposing, yet oddly comforting. The figure's presence exuded an overwhelming power, its voice resonating with warmth and authority.

"Adam," the being said, "your selfless act has not gone unnoticed. You sacrificed everything to save lives that were not your own. Such valor deserves recognition."

Adam blinked, piecing together what had just happened. "Am I…dead?" he asked.

The figure nodded. "Yes, but this is not the end for you. I am God, and I have brought you here to commend your bravery. As a reward, I shall grant you as many wishes as you desire. Speak, and it shall be so."

Adam's jaw dropped. He'd never expected his life to take such a turn, even in death. After a moment's hesitation, he found his voice. "I… I wish to be reincarnated in the world of How to Train Your Dragon, with the ability to travel to any world I know and the knowledge of every one of them."

God smiled. "Granted. What else do you wish for?"

Adam's thoughts drifted back to the woman and her daughter. They had been so terrified, yet so beautiful in their vulnerability. He couldn't bear the thought of leaving them behind. "Bring the mother and daughter with me. I want them to have a chance at a new life too."

God's smile widened. "A compassionate choice. They shall accompany you. Is there more?"

Adam paused, considering the infinite possibilities now laid before him. "Not for now. Let's see where this takes us."

God nodded. "Very well. You shall be reborn in the world of Berk, the land of Vikings and dragons. Your abilities shall be as you have wished, and the mother and daughter shall find happiness by your side. Farewell, Adam Gryffindor, and may your new life be as heroic as your last."

With a wave of God's hand, the world around Adam faded into light.
