Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Never Miss A Beat; Cinder's Trap part II
Hi guys, I'm back! Sorry if you guys haven't had an update in nearly a month. I haven't exactly had time to update due to moving from ohio (where I've been the last 12 years) to Texas. Things have been a little hectic with the move.
I will update when I have the chance to. As for my other stories... i need to see where I want them to go before updating them, I haven't forgotten about them. They're just on a hiatus for now until I figure out a direction where I'd like their stories to ultimately go.
I know there are a group of people that don't like how this story is written, but I tried. For those that have stuck around, despite the breaks and flaws this story has.. thank you very much. Hopefully, you guys have enjoyed the story thus far. I'll do my best to make it better.

The screen comes up to a view of the amity colliseum being bombarded by several explosions with the crowd cheering on the combatants. Team ORHF watches with the rest of the crowd as Penny's Team is engaged in their match with team CRDL.
Russel Thrush, a teammate of Cardin's is seen running from the mayhem of explosions with his dust weapons in hand before spinning around, ready to face his opponents, who turns out to be the familiar face of Penny Polendina and her beret-wearing teammate. With an ever-present smile and simple arm movements, she summons six floating swords from Floating Array and rears them back before launching them in a ring at Russel, who barely manages to duck behind a rock to protect himself.
He's seen looking nervously around the corner of the rock, wondering how exactly he got himself into his current predicament. Wasting no time, Penny does the same thing with another group of blades, homing in on the other CRDL teammate Sky Lark until he uses Feather's Edge to vault over another stone for defense. The two exchange a worried look at the sight of their rocks still pierced with multiple blades, and Penny grins in combat-ready fierceness as she looks to her partner, who simply taps her watch as if hurrying Penny up.
Not wanting to delay the inevitable, Penny raises her hands like a puppetmaster and uses the near-invisible strings attached to each hilt to lift the giant rocks up in the air, with the screaming Russel and Sky still hanging on for dear life. Penny quickly brings her arms down to her sides, sending the rocks crashing into the ground and her opponents sprawling into the grass. Her swords the float back into the bag on her back as the buzzer then sounds, indicating the end of the match.
"Victory goes to Penny and Ciel of Atlas!," Port announces.
"Thank you for a wonderful time.," Penny said placing a fist in her palm and bowing in respect to her fallen foes, still smiling.
The two victors turn to leave the stadium as Russel feebly reaches out, only to get hit in the head by an errant stone.
Watching from the stands, Ruby Rose sees them start to walk away and excitedly gets up form her seat with the rest of her team to meet them at one of the exits. Odyn silently chuckles as he and his teammates follow the group of girls en route to meet Penny.
Short time skip later....
Ruby and the other teens catch up to Penny & her teammate with the aforementioned leader of team RWBY opening her arms wide as she calls out to her robotic friend.
"Penny!," The girl calls out excitedly as she runs towards the android girl.
"Ruby!," Penny also calls out mirroring the action of her friend as she then tackles Ruby to the ground in a hug.
Odyn & the other dark elves are seen to be smiling and silently chuckling at the scene. It was just like Ruby to do something like this & it was remarkable how much the 2 girls were alike personality wise.
"Why...", Ruby said grunting and then groaning weakly from the ground.
Ruby saw Odyn quietly chuckling at the scene, which caused her to cutely pout.
"Odyn, why are you laughing at me?," Ruby pouted.
Odyn stopped laughing to answer his pouting girlfriend's question.
"I'm sorry, little rose, it's just that was so.. ahem! It was so just.. like you to do that, I couldn't help but to chuckle.," Odyn said still lightly chuckling.
Ruby puffed up her cheeks even more as she cutely pouted more.
"I thought you were on my side, Odyn.," Ruby said slightly upset.
"I am, just... not on this one.," Odyn replied.
Ruby pouted again before turning away slightly. Odyn stopped chuckling before making Ruby a certain offer, he didn't like seeing her upset, even if it was something as minor as this. He cleared his throat.
"Alright then, Ruby... How about this then? I'll make it up to you by taking you anywhere you want to go later. That includes ANY sweets shop or weapons store you like.," Odyn said with a wink.
"A-Anywhere i wanna g-go?," Ruby asked.
Odyn nodded.
Ruby then changed her tone.
"W-well I-I uhh... s-suppose when you put it that way...," Ruby trailed off as she was seen to be blushing and twidling her thumbs.
"I take it we have a deal then, little rose?," Odyn asked.
"Deal!," Ruby quickly said without hesitation.
Weiss just smacked her forehead at her leader's response, while Blake chuckled, and Yang smirked.
"You're so easy to read whenever Odyn or sweets are involved... you should learn to be more disciplined, Ruby.," Weiss said chiding her best friend and team leader.
"I know, but I.. c-can't help it, not when Odyn's asking me out.," Ruby said blushing and pressing her index fingers together slightly.
Weiss briefly looked at the dark elf and sighed in resignation, she did have a point. It was natural that Ruby would react that way, Odyn was the girl's boyfriend after all.
Penny got up energetically when she saw they had the teen's attention again.
"Ruby, everyone, this is my teammate.," Penny said gesturing to the girl beside her.
"Ciel Soleil, it's a pleasure to meet you all.," the girl said bowing formally.
Ruby raised her hand in greeting, attempting to befriend the other girl.
"Hi! I'm Ru-," She began before being cut off by the other girl mid greeting.
"Ruby Rose. 16 years old, Hails from the island of Patch. Leader of Team RWBY. Status: Questionable.," Ciel said interrupting Ruby.
She then turned towards Odyn with a somewhat questionable expression.
"Odyn Albanar. 17 years old. Boyfriend of one Ruby Rose. Leader of Team OHRF....," Ciel said before stopping, noting the look on Odyn's face.
"Is there something about my face you find disturbing, miss Soliel?," Odyn questioned with a slight glare.
Ciel recognized that it would not be in her best interest to antagonize Odyn or his teammates and shook her head while quietly sweating nervously from his glare at her.
Ruby then spoke to ease the awkward tension that'd built due to Ciel questioning Odyn.
"Sooo.... Penny! Both of you were incredible out there. How do you keep all of those swords under control? It was really cool!," Ruby asked turning back to her friend.
"Penny? I believe it is best that we move on to our next location.," Ciel said looking and gesturing to her watch.
Penny exchanges a look with Ruby before turning to Ciel and asking her a question.
"Okay, but.. could we just a minute to talk first?," Penny asked.
Instead of responding verbally, Ciel checks the time and takes a step back before nodding. she then starts the countdown silently.
"So.... is she your friend or....," Ruby asked not sure how to word her question.
"Well yes, in a way. She's like Blake, but if Blake was ordered to spend time with you.," Penny answered.
"Oh, so she's basically like Weiss was.," Ruby said.
"Exactly.," Penny replied.
Ruby then lowers her voice to a whisper.
"Does she know anything about... y'know.. beep beep boop bop, does not compute?," Ruby asked imitating a robots movements leaving one arm hanging witha noticeable squeaking sound.
Penny shook her head in response to her friend's question before speaking.
"Oh no, of course not. General Ironwood really doesn't want anyone to know. There was an incident with a magnet before, but I was able to play it off to avoid suspicion.," Penny said.
There's then a small flashback, detailing the said incident. It takes place at the vytal festival grounds with ciel and penny who's wearing a large sun hat. The wind picks up and lifts the hat off of her hair revealing the large magnet on her skull. Penny quickly shoves the headgear back on to her hair before ciel turns around to notice what happened. The story caused Ruby and Penny to share a short laugh about it for several seconds in the present time.
Penny is still smiling, but then gets very serious.
"Ruby & you too, Odyn. There's something I've been wanting to talk to you two about for awhile now. (glances over at Ciel before leaning in to whisper to Ruby) I want to stay at Beacon.," Penny said whispering.
Odyn heard every word Penny said due to his hearing as a Dark Elf, so he understood what message Penny was trying to get across to them.
"Penny... you know they'll never let you do that, right?," Ruby said in a whisper.
Penny frowns, but then smiles mischieously.
"I know.. but, I do have a plan regarding that.," Penny whispered back.
Ciel then steps back up to Penny's side and points to her watch.
"It has been precisely one minute, ma'am.," Ciel said.
"I'll talk to you more soon, Ruby, Odyn. ," Penny said before walking off with Ciel.
The two Atlesians leave, but not before Penny turns and waves goodbye to Ruby and Odyn with the pair doing the same.
An announcement was made over the stadium speakers, catching the attention of the group of teens.
"Ahem! Our next match will begin in 15 minutes!," Port announced.
"Oh my gosh, that's right! it's time for their match!," Ruby said looking suddenly very excited.
Odyn then looked towards Ruby and back at Weiss and Yang.
"You two go on ahead, wouldn't want to be late for your match would you?," Odyn suggested.
"Of course not.," Weiss replied as she and Yang turned to return to the arena.
"Guess we'll see you shortly then Rubes.," Yang said as she sprinted to catch up with Weiss.
At Blake's suggestion, the group took their time walking back to give Weiss & Yang time to prepare for their match. They took time to chat along the way back.
"Who's representing your team in the doubles round, Odyn?," Ruby asked.
"Who's representing our team? (chuckles) That should pretty obvious, even to you Ruby.," Hailfire said smirking.
"You mean, yourself and Roy are going?," Ruby asked.
Odyn nodded.
"If you think about it, it does make sense.," Baron said.
"Odyn and Roy are our team's two best fighters, it only makes sense that we'd choose them to represent us in the doubles round.," Hailfire said.
Ruby thought about that for a moment before realizing that Hail was right. Although Odyn's team were all very skilled and powerful fighters in their own right, Odyn & Roy were without a doubt two of the strongest individuals that Ruby had ever laid eyes on. Thus, it made sense for them to be representing Team OHRF in the doubles round. As to who their opponent would be... was anyone's guess she figured. One thing was for sure though. Whoever ended up facing the tandem of Odyn & Roy in the doubles round would have their collective hands full just tring to find a way to keep up with them, much less find a way to defeat them.
"Well .. whoever you face in your match Odyn, I'll uhh... b-be rooting for you!," Ruby said with a hint of a blush.
Odyn gave the red cloaked girl a knowing smile.
"I know you will, thanks little rose.," Odyn said as he then bent down and gave the girl a soft kiss on the on her cheek.
This action caused Ruby to blush furiously and steam to rise from her head. Ruby was left red in the face and a blubbering mess as Odyn's own teammates and cousin teased him for it.
"Nice going there, lady killer. ," Khanna said smirking.
"You already had her before, now she's fallen even harder for you.," Baron said.
"Real smooth one there, cassanova.," Roy teased with a sly smile.
"S-Shut up!," Odyn said embarrassed.
Although she was embarrassed beyond measure, Ruby couldn't help but to smile. She was glad that Odyn was the boy she fell in love with and couldn't be more proud to be his lover.
Time skip: back at the colliseum....
Yang and Weiss both stood in the center of the arena as the crowd roared for the next match to begin. The blonde was stretching her arms as Weiss stood by her side.
"Well then, now it's our turn!," Yang said confidently.
"Yes, just remember to keep proper form Yang. It's like Roy said, you do have a bad habit of losing your composure when you're frustrated.," Weiss reminded the blonde.
Yang pouted slightly.
"Geez, way to hit where it hurts Weiss..," Yang thought to herself.
"Yeah, alright. You're from Atlas, what could we expect?," Yang said as her tone shifted to talk strategy.
Weiss then begins to systematically list off the facts as Yang loosens her legs as well.
"Well, seeing as Atlas's Kingdom, Military, Academy, and Armed Forces all merged into a single entity... I believe we can and should expect strict, competent , militant fighters with the latest advanced technology and carefully rehearsed battle strategies.," Weiss said in thought.
Just as she finished saying those words, a rainbow zips the two girls surprising the two Huntresses in training. The blur comes to a stop on the opposite side of them, revealing it to be a a faunus girl with her hair tied into pig tails. She also had roller blades and a cat tail swishing around her weapon. Next to her, stood a dark skinned young man wearing a fedora and sunglasses while holding a trumpet in one hand. Weiss was initially shocked, but recovered from it faster than Yang did. The blonde brawler was still standing there with her mouth hung open in shock.
"Or... whatever they are.," Weiss said finishing her thought.
"Hey!," the young man said calling out to the Schnee heiress.
Weiss turns in response to this a nd looks at the young man, who gestures to her while smiling.
"You're Weiss Schnee, right? The heiress.," The young man said in question.
Weiss bows her head and smiles at the recognition.
"I am.," she said.
The young man's name was Flynt, while his partner's name was Neon.
"You're pretty good with Dust then, yeah?," Flynt asked.
" I do my best with it.," Weiss said shrugging humbly.
"Yeah, my dad was good too. Even owned a little Dust shop of his own.," Flynt said nodding his head with his eyes hidden behind his shades until his smile turns into an angry scowl.
His tone then turns hostile as he continued.
"That was 'till your father's company ran him out of business.," Flynt said angered.
Weiss then looks ashamed as she looks down, saddened.
"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that.," Weiss replied saddened.
Flynt doesn't buy it and looks away sarcastically.
"Sure you are.," Flynt said not buying Weiss's change of attitude.
Weiss raised a finger as she spoke up, only to suddenly be interrupted by Neon.
"Hey! Why don't you-," Yang began before she was cut off mid sentence.
"Hey! Why don't you? That's what you sound like!," Neon said as she dropped the poor and unflattering imitation of Yang with and points at the blonde while smiling.
Yang wasn't sure how to react and it was evident by her response to her opponent's imitation of her.
"Uh...," Yang tried speaking, not sure what to say.
Roy watched in the waiting room, not liking where this conversation was headed.
"Oh boy... This doesn't look good.," Roy inwardly thought as he watched.
Back to the field Neon then asked Yang another question.
"Hey, you! Where'd you get those hair extensions?,"Neon asked.
"No...where? This is just my normal hair.," Yang replied unsure of what her opponent was trying to say.
"Ooh, really?," Neon asked a little surprised.
"💢 Yeah! Is that a prob-," Yang started to ask getting annoyed before she was cut off mid sentence again by Neon.
"You should try rollerblading sometime! It's super fun! It might take you a bit longer since you're... ya know, a little too top heavy.," Neon said as she begins spinning rapidly in place.
Yang looks down at herself as the holographic countdown begins. Upon realizing what the faunus girl meant, she became even more angry.
"💢 Excuse me?!," Yang said clearly bothered by the remark.
"🙄 Oh boy... here we go.," Ruby said with an eyeroll.
The arena opens up around the four combatants, with the volcanic area, the Desert, steaming geysers, and Ruined buildings all rising up around them.
Both teams prepare themselves for battle.
"Three!"
Weiss settles in with sweat going down her brow.
"Two!"
Neon casually adjusts her roller blades before bouncing up and down temporarily.
"One!"
Yang ckenched her teeth and adjusts her gauntlets in preparation for the match. One way or another, she'd make that girl sorry for what she said.
"Begin!", Port announced.
Right as the match starts, Flynt raises the instrument to his lips and blows, issuing forth a sound wave that blows both Weiss and Yang back from the force. Weiss is able to create a glyph under her to stop sliding back, but she doesn't see Neon spinning into the attack and using it to push herself forward. This was so she could charge at Yang in a rainbow burst of speed and push her into the city portion.
Flynt stops blowing as Weiss readies her rapier, called Myrtenaster. A second passes by until the musician starts playing again. This time, Weiss uses darker glyphs to move her forward through the cone of waves, making another one to get closer and closer so she can land a blow. Flynt suddenly stops playing however, forcing Weiss to charge forward. This only resulted in her earning a kick to the back as she slid past her opponent. This sent the heiress crashing through a red Dust crystal and towards an area spewing pillars of Flame. Flynt grins when he sees this as he approaches the downed Shcnee heiress.
With Yang...
Back in the ruined city portion of the arena, Neon manages to roll ahead of every blast from Yang's Gauntlets. She skated on the railings and making faces at an irritated Yang. She continues to flip and slide over any terrain in her way, all the while repeating a mantra to herself.
"Never miss a beat! Never miss a beat!," Neon told herself while dodging fiery shots from an angered Yang.
She eventually comes down to the ground and charges at Yang, becoming a rainbow blue while hitting the blonde multiple times. This makes Yang even more angry and frustrated, not a good sign for her. Her friends that watched her could tell, Yang was losing it.
"What is she doing?," asked Hailfire confused.
"She fighting the other faunus girl, obviously.," Blake said.
"Not to be rude, Blake, but.. that's not fighting. Yang's just flailing around angry. I've seen your partner fight, and whatever that is... it ain't fighting, that's for sure.," Hailfire said.
"What the heck does Yang think she's doing? Did she forget everything my cousin taught her?," Khanna added.
Down in the waiting room, Roy felt a headache coming on from watching this display of poor to no technique at all.
"🤦♂️ What does she think she's doing? I knew her temper was a problem, but... I never thought it'd make her looks so... bad at fighting!," Roy said slapping his forehead in annoyance.
Odyn also watched the pitiful display currently taking place.
"😅 yeah... you're right Roy, this is... almost unbearable to watch. Yang's a much better fighter than this.," Odyn remarked.
"Ugh... Yeah, I know. That's why this is frustrating to watch.," Roy replied.
"Wel... we can only hope Yang remembers what you taught her before this match is over.," Odyn said.
Roy smirked.
"Yeah.. I don't have any doubt that she'll remember, once she gets frustrated enough that is.," Roy said.
Back in the arena...
Back inside the arena, Yang grits her teeth in frustration after getting hit multiple times by Neon. So far, this match was not turning out like she thought it would and it was frustrating her. For some reason, she had this nagging thought in the back of her mind the entire time so far, what if... what if she was going about this the wrong way?
Yang unloaded the rest of the soent shells in her shotgun gauntlets while gritting her teeth in frustration. Neon smirks and cracks her glow sticks, turning them blue. She comes forward again, dashing past Yang before she even realizes that her right leg is now encased in ice.
This causes the antagonizing girl to giggle. She then smacks her rear side for emphasis and to tease Yang even further.
"Hm-hmm! Look! Now you're bottom heavy, too!," Neon teased.
This proves to just irrate Yang even further as she slams her leg down to break the ice around her feet. However, she fails to realize that now her left arm was frozen in ice until after the fact. Yang wants to move, but soon find that she can't move very easily because if the ice weighing her down.
As if that wasn't enough, she sees Neon rollerblading on rails and through archways, gaining distance until she speeds forth and kicks Yang back into a wall, cracking it behind her.
"You should cool off! Get it? Because you're angry.," Neon said after thinking she'd beaten the blonde.
Not appreciating the pun one bit, Yang smashes her arm against the wall, once again shattering the ice and the structure itself. Then that thought from earlier comes racing back into her mind. Although now it sounded like... "him", it now sounded like Roy was speaking to her as if to remind her of something.
With Weiss...
Weiss and Flynt are facing off in the volcanic section of the field, continuing their fight. The heiress gestures around her with her rapier spinning wildly to summon 4 glyphs , which hurl out an even number of large masses of Ice shards towards her opponent. Flynt looks below him and smiles. Thinking quickly, he leapt forward, sliding onto his knees and blowing his trumpet right before a column of fire erupts in front of him. He then manipulates the flame to melt Weiss's projectiles before they could reach him. He gets back up to his feet as he twirls his trumpet absentmindedly.
"It's really a shame all that money can't buy you skill.," Flynt said cocky.
Weiss grimmaces at this because she knows there's some truth to what Flynt was saying. She revolves the hilt of her rapier to switch to a different color of Dust, this one white in color. She then aims the element of wind towards Flynt, who matched her power by blowing his trumpet once again. This created a momentary standstill, until Weiss uses several gestures with her fingers to summon several more glyphs to field. She uses these glyphs to once again gain the advantage by bouncing off of them to hit her opponent several times. This is until Flynt puts his foot down and begins to play his trumpet again. Weiss is still seen to be propelling herself around her opponent, however, nothing prepared her for what Flynt did next to catch her off guard. A 2nd Flynt appears next to the first, and then another, soon another, and so on until she is surrounded by several different shaded and colored copies of Flynt. Each of the colored coordinated copy musicians join their multi colored musical waves of sound to send Weiss flying backwards.
Jaune, who watched the match from the stands was amazed at the sudden attack on Weiss.
"Whoa!," He said in amazement.
Daikon, who also watched raised a curious eyebrow at this. He looked towards Note and Beat, who both nodded and agreed that this was a technique similar to something they were familiar with as saiyans.
"I agree.,"Note said nodding.
"That technique...,"Beat said in thought.
"Yes. It's quite possible it's derived from the multiform we and the dark elves use.," Daikon said.
The dark elves who were sitting with them also agreed.
Port and Oobleck, who were in the broadcasting booth both turned to each other in shock upon seeing the technique.
"What's this?," Port asked in surprise.
"It would appear that young Flynt has activated his semblance! And it's quite the remarkable one at that. Ladies and Gentlemen, feast your eyes upon Flynt Coal's Killer Quartet!," Oobleck announced much to the crowd's awe.
The Flynt's all flip their fedora's around to the audience, then look up at the scoreboard to see that both Yang and Weiss are down to half of their original Aura levels. They are still in the game, though. Flynt then steps forward, calling each of his copies back into himself as he prepares to finish off the Schnee. He isn't worried about Yang, because his teammate is still giving the blonde brawler fits running around the arena to outmaneuver her now red eyed and frustrated opponent. Neon slows down a bit to admire the change in Yang's appearance.
"Ooh, Flashy eyes! Y'know, you're actually really pretty when you're angry. I can see why that red haired boy pays attention to 'ya.," Neon said.
Yang shakes her head, eyes reverting back to their lilac color. She launches herself forward using the shotgun blasts from her gauntlets. Neon didn't notice at the time, but when she mentioned Roy, something was beginning to change inside the blonde brawler. Almost... as if she was remembering something important that shouldn't ever be forgotten.
"Would you please Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!," Yang said angrily.
Weiss is seen to be getting back to her feet when she spots her blade only to have Flynt step on it with his foot. She looks up at him warily before both of their attention is drawn to their partners.... or more specifically what happened after a certain someone had enough of watching Yang embarrass herself. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after Yang was insulted again.
"Get back here!," Yang said angered.
Neon rooled around Yang half heartedly in a lazy circle.
"I wasn't saying you should go on a diet, I was saying you need to go on a diet!," Neon said teasing her opponent.
She wasn't done yet and for some reason felt the need to push the limits of Yang's frustration to a boiling point.
"You're fat." Neon said.
"THAT'S IT!," Yang said angry before another stern voice interrupted her from doing anything more foolish.
"YANG!," the voice cried out.
All of the combatants and the crowd turned towards the voice, it... was Roy. And oh boy did he ever look mad, Yang was unsure if she'd ever seen Roy this angry at any one person before.
"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?! You're a much better fighter than this! Did you forget what i taught you? QUIT FOOLING AROUND AND FIGHT LIKE YOU MEAN IT ALREADY!," Roy said glaring at Yang.
Yang looked at the boy and felt her knees almost buckle and sweat begin to run down her face. The look of anger on Roy's face was terrifying her, she legitimately felt like Roy would in fact kill her if she didn't clean up her act.
The blonde couldn't help but to smirk and silently chuckle at herself for the fact Roy had to be the one to wake her up in this match. What the blonde did next surprised everyone in the colliseum, except for the elves. Yang deliberately punched herself in the face!
"Heh heh, thanks for that Roy. Sorry you had to see such a sorry display. But don't worry, thanks to you, I'm myself again. I'll fight her for real this time like you know I can!," Yang said grinning confidently.
Roy smirked at her in response.
"Good. Show me what you can really do, Yang.," Roy said as he crossed his arms.
Yang then cracks her knuckles and refocuses.
While Yang was talking to Roy, Flynt decided to focus on the blonde brawler becoming four fighters in an attempt to catch her off guard. He was going to attempt to blow her away, not while Weiss had anything to say about it. Weiss looks through the clones to see Yang distracted in talking to Roy. Thinking quickly, she sees a bubbling pool of lava right in front of the four flynt's. Not even hesitating, Weiss launched herself at the original, tackling him into the magma as it erupts several feet into the air. Yang just noticed what happened and briefly becomes angry.
"What?," Yang said in surprise before scowling towards Neon.
"Weiss!," Ruby and Blake cried obviously concerned.
Ruby then hears the comforting voice of her boyfriend in her head.
"Weiss is okay, ruby."
"Are you sure? she just went straight into hot lava!"
"She's fine. Think about it. Weiss wouldn't be taken out that easily. She may be a bit hurt and singed pretty bad, but i guarantee that she's okay."
"Well, alright Odyn. If you say that she's alright, then I have no doubt that she is okay. I trust you on that."
Port winced as both himself and Oobleck saw what Weiss did.
"It appears we have a double knockout on our hands!," Port announced.
"In fact, it looks as though young miss schnee's aura has been completely depleted! She sacfriced herself to take out Flynt!," Oobleck announced before seeing something.
"Wait, what's this?," he said surprised.
"This" turned out to be Flynt, wobbly and near his limit, but still standing back up inside the smoke before it clears.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Flynt Coal remains standing!," Port announced to raucus cheers from the crowd.
Flynt walks towards Yang, a look of pure anger on his face. He then pauses as he notices Roy watching, for some reason, he could feel Roy's anger on him. His own anger was nothing compared to the bloodlust he felt from Roy. As he returned to his teammate's side, he noticed Yang looked... different now, more confident even.
"You did it, Flynt! Don't worry about her, she's easy! But also kind of annoying.
Yang's look of anger went away as she remembered Roy's words to her when she trained with him a few days prior.
"Anger only clouds your judgement. Stay calm, learn to harness the energy from your anger. Don't let your anger control you, you control your anger. Use it as a weapon, but when your mind is clearer."
Yang then sighed as she breathed out, now calmer.
"I... wouldn't be so sure of that Neon. Look at her now.,"Flynt said.
Neon looked and saw Yang was now much calmer and more confident now. Yang grinned. She'd have to trick them into thinking she was still angry, no bad idea. Roy's words gave her an idea. It was risky, but it was her best shot of winning this match and taking both of these guys out.
Yang opened her eyes, alerting the team from atlas that she'd activated her semblance. To everyone else it looked like she was still angry and not thinking straight. Those who spent time with the blonde knew though, she was much calmer and more deliberate now.
"Yo, Neon go!," Flynt said urging his teammate into action.
He blew his trumpet again to help Neon rush forward. Yang meets the faunus girl in the waves of sound, using her shot from the gauntlets to keep her from being pushed away while attempting to hit the girl. Unfortunately, she missed. Yang then thought of something. Neon had too much of a speed advantage right now... so what if her footing was suddenly taken from her? It was worth a shot at least. Yang leapt out of the waves of sound and blasts the ground where Neon was to create some space. Her plan nearly worked, as it forced Flynt to redirect his tune elsewhere to avoid Yang's shotgun blasts from her gauntlets. Although Neon dodged the rubble created by the shotgun blasts, she was noticeably more shaky in her stance then a few minutes ago. This gave Yang another idea, one that was sure to work this time. She was making progress at least, more than she was for the entire first half of the match. Neon rolls up on a ramp made of debris and into the geyser area with the blonde brawler landing far away from her. Yang rockets towards Flynt, who is now vulnerable. Flynt speeds towards her, using his semblance to deliver an attack with all four of his copies. The shotgun blasts behind her, however, provide enough speed for Yang to close the gap and clap her hands around the mouth of Flynt's trumpet. It was only a mere few seconds before the silence is broken by Flynt's semblance backfiring on him, forcing him to become just one person for the final time. Still stunned by the musical backfire, Flynt is unable to retaliate Yang as she rushed up to him. She then used both of her hands to clap in his face, the wind from the attack knocking him onto his back as the buzzer sounded.
"Oh,that's a sour note for Flynt!," Oobleck announced as the screen indicated Flynt was now drained of his aura.
Roy couldn't help but to smirk now.
"Well played, Yang. That was a smart move using Flyn'ts own semblance against him.," Roy thought as he watched the last few minutes of Yang's match.
Back to the field, Yang gently landed on her feet as she now searched for her last remaining opponent as Neon was trying her best to avoid the geyser spouts.
"Never miss a beat! Never miss a beat! Never miss a..,"Neon told herself before she was interrupted.
Her wheel caught on a crack in the ground, causing her to lose her balance and shed a few quick tears.
"...Beat?," Neon said a little stunned she messed up.
She goes flying forward, trying to roll into a ball, only to be caught into the blast of a geyser. She's helpless in the air as she sees Yang then smirk. It was over.
"This match is over. Yang's got her.," Roy thought.
The dark elf was right, Yang fires off a single shot at her target. It hits her screaming target in an explosive display of sparks and smoke, with the buzzer sounding immediately afterwards.
Yang breathes in and out, calming herself before blinking with her eyes returning to their normal lilac color. She thenlooks panicked as she realizes she forgot about something... or more specifically someone.
"Oh my gosh, Weiss!," Yang said as she ran back into volcanic section to find her teammate.
She kneels next to her ash and soot covered teammate.
"Weiss! Are you okay?!," Yang asked concerned and embarrassed that she forgot about her own friend.
Weiss manages to get up and cough a bit before she weakly responds to her teammate.
"Yes. Although... *coughs* I may not be singing for awhile.," Weiss weakly replied.
Both look a little worried and then relieved before Yang breaks out a joking smile.
"You know... I'm not sure that was proper form, Weiss.," Yang teased jokingly.
"Oh, ha ha. laugh it up while you're at it, won't you?," Weiss said before entering another coughing fit.
"WHAT?! We lost? We lost? Team FNKI lost?," Neon said surprised and slightly freaking out.
Yang and Weiss turned their attention to the faunus girl, who's face was devoid of color briefly asshe freaked out before transitioning to a happier tone upon seeing the girls from the team who beat them.
"That was.. that was... (her eyes then turned into rainbow colored sparkles) amazing! Oh my gosh, you guys were like crazy awesome! We should definitely party together sometime, right Flynt?," Neon said excited.
Flynt got back to his feet, though his clothes were a little messed up now. He brushed the dust off his clothes and fixed his fedora as he spoke.
"That was gutsy move, Schnee. (he pause briefly before continuing) I dig it.," He said with a smile.
Yang and Weiss both smile at their opponents, who were good sport's about their loss to them. They then see the rest of their friends coming to the injured Weiss's side.
"Good job, you two!," Blake said congradulating the two.
"Yeah! and Yang, that was awesome!," Ruby said.
"Heh, thanks Rubes.,"Yang said chuckling slightly.
Team RWBY stayed like that, cradling the injured Weiss as they soaked in the cheers of the crowd.
Once the moment passed, however, they helped their injured teammate out of the arena.
Next was Odyn and Roy's match. The blue haired teen passed by his girlfriend, causing her to stop briefly. Her teammates looked back.
"Ruby?," Yang asked.
"Oh, you guys go on ahead. I'll be there in just a second.," Ruby replied.
Yang smirked, knowing what it was her sister was doing.
"Alright then. Just don't take too long with your boyfriend, okay Rubes?," Yang said winking.
This caused Ruby to flush with embarrassment as she told them to just go already.
"J-just go already! I'll be there shortly.," She said blushing.
Ruby then turned as Odyn then faced her.
"Take your time, bro. I canstall for you if need be.," Roy said patting his brother on the shoulder before walking past him.
Odyn nodded as he silently thanked his brother for understanding. Striding forward to face his lover, he then smiled at her as he came face to face with the charming young woman who had recently become his girlfriend.
"What's up, little Rose?," He asked smiling.
Ruby smiled at him as she wrapped her arms around his neck gently.
"Nothing really, I just wanted to wish you good luck is all.," She said sweetly.
Odyn hugged the girl back, appreciative of the gesture.
"Thanks, little Rose. I'll show all those who doubt us that I'm more than capable of protecting you.," He said.
"Hee hee! You don't need to do that, Odyn. I know you're more than capable of keeping me safe, no matter what anyone else says.," Ruby told him with a giggle.
Both must have realized that they couldn't stay like that for too long, due to Ruby recognizing the time.
"I'd.. better go. Otherwise, we're liable to end up tangled with each other again.," Odyn said.
"I understand, Odyn. Good luck out there. I-I'll b-be rooting for you.," Ruby said stepping away from the boy she fell in love with.
The two went their separate ways for the time being, but not before Ruby placed a quick and affectionate kiss onto Odyn's cheek.
"Go get 'em, odyn!," Ruby said as she ran back to rejoin her teammates.
Odyn smiled and lightly chuckled, now he really couldn't lose.
He'd have to make it up to Ruby later by taking her out to dinner or something. The dark elf then refocused as he donned a rather serious look on his face. He was ready now.
Walking into the tunnel just before the arena, He unsheathed his sword from his back.
Roy followed suit as he looked to his brother.
"Done with your lover?," Roy asked.
"For now. She's just given me another reason not to lose now.," Odyn replied.
Roy smirked at his brother.
"I bet she did.," Roy said.
The two brothers were ready now. They awaited the announcement of their match.
Back with Ruby...
Ruby made it back to the bleachers with her team sitting down now. As she sat down next to Yang, she noticed Weiss was now bandaged up and looking much better.
Her sister then turned to her with a smirk.
"What'd you say to your boyfriend back there, rubes?," Yang asked.
Ruby blushed and felt like steam was coming from her head.
"I just uh... you know, wished him good luck in the match.," Ruby said a bit nervous.
"And... what else?," Weiss asked as she was smirking this time.
Ruby blushed even harder this time.
"Well i uh... k-kinda gave him something to look f-forward to... for l-later...," Ruby said flushing an even darker shade of red this time.
Yang chuckled and sighed. She knew her sister had fallen hard for Odyn, but she underestimated just How much her sister loved the dark elf teen.
"You really have it bad for him, don't ya Rubes?," Yang chuckled.
Ruby just wordlessly nodded as she was far too embarrassed to say anything.
Finally, Oobleck and Port then spoke again.
"Our next match should be a rather interesting one. We have from Beacon and representing team OHRF, Odyn Albanar and Roy Albanar!!!," Port announced.
The crowd went wild as they cheered, the brothers had become a crowd favorite after their last match.
"In case those of you watching live or at home are wondering, Odyn and Roy are indeed blood related brothers and the best two fighters on their team.," Oobleck explained.
The Albanar brothers walked out into the ring as they awaited their opponents to be announced.
"And challenging them from Haven Academy will be.. Tiri and Adam!, " Port said.
Both Dark Elves recognized who these two were and scowled, it was.. "her". More than likely she sent them to work parrallel to Cinder and whatever her plans were.
"Brother, these two are..," Roy started, allowing Odyn to finish his thought.
"Agents of Salem? Yeah, I noticed. That... Adam person though..., Roy let me fight Adam. I'd... like to see what he can really do.," Odyn said.
Roy nodded as he and Odyn switched opponents subtly. Odyn had heard from Blake how frightening of a swordsman that Adam Taurus was. He wanted to see for himself just how dangerous the leader of the White Fang truly was. Meanwhile, Roy got the crazy psycho. Why was it always the mentally insane ones he had to fight?
The arena came up around them before flipping to 4 different areas. The symbols chosen were Sun (desert), leaves (Forest), Water (sea), and rock (earth, mountains). The areas materialized as the countdown started.
Once the countdown reached zero Odyn and Roy suddenly switched opponents. This surprised the other two combatants as Odyn rocketed towards Adam, clutching his face hard while sppeding off towards the desert area.
"You're coming with me, pal!," Odyn said gripping Adam's face in an iron grip.
Before Adam could figure out what happened, he was carried off by this boy with long dark blue hair towards the desert area. Once they got there, Odyn released Adam by tossing him into the sand. A loud "BOOM!" was heard when Adam impacted the sand. Before the two began to fight, Odyn snapped his fingers. This errected a sound proof barrier, now no one in the audience would be able to hear their conversation.
"That should do the trick. No one on the outside will hear what's said between you and I. So you can drop the act, Adam. Or should I say... Adam Taurus, leader of the White Fang?," Odyn said.
Adam's eyes widened in shock before he chuckled and spoke up within the barrier.
"How'd you figure it out, kid?," Adam asked.
"Oh please! Who do you think you're fooling with a disguise as lame as that one is. It may work on everyone else, but you should know better than to try and trick the eyes of a Dark Elf.," Odyn siad.
Adam chuckled again, now he understood why he was uncovered so easily.
"Alright, you got me. Guess I should've known better than to try and fool someone from the "Forsaken"." Adam said.
"Tch! Typical for you to be using a disgusting term like that for us, faunus!," Odyn said angered.
"What's the matter, I touch a nerve there?," Adam said cocky.
"Why don't you find out!," Odyn said as he charged him.
Adam shifted his stance to where he thought he'd gotten the jump on the boy, only for Odyn to kick him in the stomach hard enough to send him flying.
Spit flew out of his mouth as he repositioned himself. This kid hit harder than he anticipated. No matter, there wasn't a swordsman around who could best him... unless they were Sienna Khan, but that was different.
Adam rushed at the boy this time, only for Odyn to easily block his sword thrust. The disguised faunus was agast how this boy had managed to easily block not just one, but two of his attacks with almost no effort at all. That shock quickly turned to rage as the battle then began to speed up. He increased his attack speed and unsurprisingly, Odyn matched it by blocking. Odyn then went on the offensive, swinging his much larger weapon at Adam. Each time , Odyn's sword strikes staggered the faunus, much to his confusion and bewilderment. How in Remnant's name could this boy swing around such a large weapon as if it was made out of paper? It made absolutely no sense! Yet, this kid was keeping up with the speed and power behind blows that came from Adam's sword. The battle between the two was amazing the crowd as they'd never seen a sword fight quite like this one before. It was strange... all this time, you would think Adam would've heard of someone as strong as Odyn was before. However, he'd never even once heard of a boy as powerful as Odyn was. True, he was strong. But, he had to have a limit, right? They'd been going at it for awhile now, he had to be getting tired or at least fatigued. Unfortunately for Adam, this was ot even remotely the case. Instead of getting more tired as the sword fight dragged on, the dark elf teen seemed to be only getting stronger. Odyn was matching him blow for blow pretty easily and with minimal effort. It was then that Adam realized, he had no chance against this kid. He was toying with him, for crying out loud! The kid was holding back against him and wasn't even really trying! This angered him as he went to try and overwhelm the boy, only to end up flat on his back. This was courtesy of a well timed punch with the hilt of the sword to Adam's face.
Odyn noticed Adam getting angry and smirked. Just a little more, and he was sure to make a mistake he couldn't recover from. It was when Adam made that mistake, Odyn would pounce. The faunus was doing something rather curious though, he'd abandoned offense completely and was just taking hits. Odyn began to think about why he would do so. Not a moment later, he figured it out.
"So that's his goal, eh? He's planning to bet everything on an all out attack charged up from his semblance, huh? What a fool!. But even fools can be resourceful if they put their minds to it.," Odyn thought.
The dark elf then shifted his stance as he prepared to intercept Adam's semblance charged blow. Once the disguised bull faunus thought he'd absorbed enough hits from the barrage of powerful blows Odyn rained down with his sword, he jumped back and sheathed his blade. His dust weapon glowing a familiar dark crimson color. Blake saw this and became worried for her leader's boyfriend as she tried calling out to warn him. Khanna stopped her however, reassuring her that Odyn would be okay.
"This should finish him.,"Adam thought.
However, he wasn't accounting for one thing... The TRUE abilities of his opponent, that had yet to be displayed. The faunus unleashed his semblance charged attack towards the dark elf, thinking it was over he smirked. That smirk then turned into a look of shock and terror when he noticed that his blade was stopped by... Odyn's bare hand?! The expression the disguised faunus had on his face was one of pure shock and disbelief.
"He... Caught it with his... BARE HAND?! HOW?!", Adam thought with his eyes as wide as dinner plates.
The worst part about the situation was... his opponent hardly looked like he'd been scratched at all!
Odyn had a few scratches near his cheek and on his arms, but for the most part, he was unharmed from Adam's attack. The dark elf looked down at the faunus, who felt small now. For a teen a mere 17 years old, Odyn was huge for his age. He was built like a mountain compared to other teenaged boys his same age. Looking at the blade in his hand and back at his opponent, Odyn then spoke.
"Not going to lie, I was... expecting a bit.. more from you. If this is all you have, I'm sorry but you may as well give up now. But very well... let's finish this.,"Odyn said before continuing.
The dark teen then breathed in and out before shifting his stance, his power swelling around him, causing the stadium to shake.
"MANA ZONE:...."
The massive dome of light then froze Adam in place, preventing him from doing anything. His eyes widened. This was.... fear. He hadn't felt this afraid of anyone in a very long time. Whatever this attack that was on its way was, it was going to hurt... A LOT. First came flames, then blinding light, before it converged into Odyn's fist. Striking quickly, Odyn sent forward one fist before it multiplied into hundreds of other fists. Those fists then turned into lights that seemed to surround and pelt Adam from seemingly every single direction. The barrage seemed to last for an enternity before falling silent, allowing Odyn to charge forward with a final and deadly blow. He gripped Adam's face briefly, dragging him through the mountains of the earthen area of the arena before releasing him, coming in with a final super man punch in the shape of a dragon.
"LIGHT FANGED.... DRAGON'S JAW!!!!," Odyn screamed as his blow sent Adam spiraling into the sand again in an enormous explosion of light that shook the entire arena. The crowd then felt the massive gusts of wind that were expelled as a result of the explosion of light.
Odyn sheathed his blade as he looked towards his defeated opponent. Adam was twitching, his body burned from the magic and flame enhanced fists of light he took.
"Tell your leader this... If she's looking for a fight, i'll be glad to give her one. But, she'd better not mess with those i hold precious to me, otherwise... it WILL be her head I come after!," Odyn said spitting off to the side and walking away.
"I-INCREDIBLE! Odyn Albanar has defeated his opponent in knockout fashion!," Port announced.
The crowd went wild with excitement as they started chanting "Odyn! Odyn! Odyn!"
Emerald began sweating even more. There was absolutely NO way they could beat someone THAT powerful! Cinder looked on and even began to inwardly sweat. Just when she thought she had Odyn's strength gagued, he pulls out another level of power that no one even knew about!
"Was that... magic he used?," Cinder wondered now worried.
She couldn't face him or the other dark elves, not yet, not if they were THIS powerful. She'd get her butt whopped if she faced them now. No, she needed to wait. As she was now, Cinder wasn't going to be anywhere near strong enough to fight these Dark Elves from the "Forsaken" race. They'd annihilate her if she did. She smiled though, but, it wasn't her normal smile. She couldn't deny it anymore. These Dark Elves were WAY stronger than she was right now and it was making her scared of them. She continued to watch the other match between Roy and Tiri.
With Roy...
Roy leapt back from a metal tail digging into the ground as he skidded to a stop. He'd been fighting mostly on the defensive due to his opponent's metal scorpion's tail. He hadn't been able to do much to his own foe because of their tail, it was getting annoying.
"Tch! That tail is really getting to be annoying!," Roy thought frustrated.
Tiri, of course kept laughing like an idiot. Just as the crazed faunus was about to strike, an enormous gust of wind knocked him off of his feet. Roy looked as he guessed it came from Odyn. He smirked, but then refocused as he now had the opening he needed.
"There!," Roy thought as Tiri was now vulnerable.
The dark elf repositioned himself as his blade glowed blue, it was now or never to swing the advantage in his favor. Jumping on the chance, Roy charged up his Ki and combined it with the magic power in his blade and took a mighty swing towards his prone opponent.
"LIGHTNING BLADED SCYTHE!!!,"He cried.
A blinding light flashed before the stage was literally cut in two by Roy. A sound like a scythe tearing through the stage was heard just before lightning struck Tiri, frying him to a near unrecognizable state. Tiri managed to dodge the sword swing, as it passed by him, it shook the arena. He could not dodge the powerful lightning that followed however as it subsequently fried him. He got up after being barbecued by lightning with a crazed smile and laughter.
He then charged at Roy with his tail, only for the dark elf to suddenly grab it. This surprised him as he looked at his opponent, who he was giving a lot of trouble earlier in the match. Now however... He seemed different, stronger even. That's when he noticed something, the lightning. It was starting to spark around Roy more intensely, no, that wasn't it... The lightning was emanating from Roy now, and it was much more powerful than it was before. The sky above the arena suddenly grew very dark as dark thunder clouds hovered above the arena where Roy and Tiri fought.
As Roy fought with Tiri, the lightning surrounding Roy began to grow stronger. This prompted Port and Oobleck to make an announcement.
"Young Roy's Semblance seems to be activating. For anyone that have problems with bright flashing lights, the ushers are providing the audience with sun glasses.",Port announced.
"Please put them on for safety precautions everyone, we don't know what is about to happen. Whatever it is will certainly be blinding.," Oobleck added.
On cue, the audience put on the sun glasses provided to shield their eyes from what was about to take place. Roy decided that he'd borrow a technique from one of his friends to buy time for his magic to activate.
"Sorry, Weiss. I'll be borrowing one of your moves for a bit.," Roy thought as he silently apologized to the Schnee heiress.
With his lightning, Roy conjured up what appeared to be magical glyphs surrounding Tiri. They were different somehow as he utilized them to keep Tiri occupied. Weiss immediately noticed this and briefly stood up confused before being told to sit back down.
"What in Atlas? How... That's my move!," Weiss said upset.
"Weiss, you know they've seen how you fight. It only makes sense they'd adapt something similar.," Hailfire told her.
"What do you mean, similar?," Weiss asked confused.
"Take a look, Ice Queen. While it is similar, it's different too.," Khanna told her.
Weiss pouted briefly for the nickname but looked as directed. She noticed runes around the glyphs. Not only did Roy used them as a spring board to attack his foe, he also stored energy in them so they'd fire the stored energy at his opponent, giving his foe a tougher time defending both attacks at once. Weiss was intrigued by this. Perhaps Roy unintentionally was teaching her another strategy that she could use in the future. Back to the arena, Roy pointed his blade towards the sky above him as the Lightning fizzled in the clouds. Tiri was too busy trying to dodge the unnumerable bolts of lightning from the glyphs to really do anything about Roy, who stood still and began to chant.
Can you feel it? The ground trembles in the wake of heaven's wrath... I offer my foe as an offering to the heavens above, pour out your will and strike my target. Foolish sinner, curse your own fate and the gods you worship as heaven rains down its judgement upon you... Tremble for your fate is nigh... (This is inspired by a certain mystic arte that a boss in Tales of Arise uses lol)
Roy point his blade to the sky as the clouds then separated. What followed, no one could have predicted. An enormous blade made up of lightning fell from the sky and descended to the ground. When the blade struck the ground, a giant torrent of lightning struck the ground and electrocuted Tiri.
"FINIS... AESTERATUM!!!!," Roy cried as he swung his blade to the earth.
The result of Tiri getting barbecued by an attack of that magintude was in a word... blinding. The lightning shook the arena to the point where some wondered if there was an earthquake nearby. However, when Tiri plopped to the ground and twitched, he could no longer move and the quake receded. Roy then sheathed his blade as the sky cleared, allowing the sun to once again bask the people within the colisseum. The buzzer sounded, indicating the end of the match.
"That's it, folks! Odyn and Roy of OHRF have defeated Adam and Tiri of Haven!," Port announced.
The crowd cheered in raucus approval, this delighted Ruby and the others as well causing them to cheer happily.
"Way to go, Odyn!," Ruby cheered.
Team Rwby, Team JNPR, and KDBNB then went down to the ring to congradulate the two on their resounding victories.
Emerald was sweating even more now, they'd have to compete with power like... THAT?! Suddenly her chances of surviving a fight with either of the Dark Elves she saw so far weren't looking all that promising.
Later....
A little later on that particular evening in a certain dorm room, Cinder Fall is looking through files on her scroll. Emerald is lying on the floor, also playing with her own device, while Mercury is seen to be doing pushups beside her. Cinder's eyes then widen in surprise at a certain piece of information she just received, causing her lips to curve up into a smile.
"Oh my, what do we have here?," Cinder said happily.
Emerald then looks over with Mercury (who is merely faking being on their side by the way..).
"What is it?," Emerald asked.
Cinder accesses a file regarding the blueprints of "P.E.N.N.Y." as she answers her collegue's question.
"Oh nothing. We're just going to be a slight tweak in the plan.," Cinder said chuckling.
Mercury gains a suspicious look, but it is quickly replaced by one of masked concern.
"What does that mean?," He asked.
Cinder continues to look at the familiar head of a robot as she answered.
"It means that this will be even easier than we thought.," Cinder chuckled.
She then frowned as she continued.
"Is.. what I would normally say. But.. it's become apparent that there is one rather large obstacle we must get past for our plan to work..," Cinder said scowling.
"The Dark Elves, right?," Emerald asked.
Cinder nodded.
"Precisely. It.. would seem something has to be done about them sooner rather than later. Emerald.,"Cinder said before continuing,
"Yes?," She asked.
"I would have you and mercury deal with the red haired elf when it comes to it.," Cinder said.
Emerald went pale at this suggestion, something which Cinder took notice of.
"What's wrong, Emerald? Why is your face so pale?," Cinder asked.
She weakly answered Cinder's inquiry.
"U-Um.. Cinder, I uh.. don't know if you forgot this or not but.... Tirion was... EASILY beaten by that guy! Do.. you not remember what he did at the end of the last match?," Emerald asked frightened.
Cinder was surprised, Emerald was never one to question her decisions before. Was she THAT afraid of the Elves? But it made her think about what was recorded in the last seconds of the match. Tirion was in a coma, and Adam was... not quite the same as he was after fighting Odyn. It was a miracle that Adam escaped that match merely a few deep cuts that ultimately scarred. He could've been far worse off had the blue haired Dark Elf actually taken the match seriously. Just the mere thought of the power the blue haired elf commanded sent shivers of fear up her spine. THAT elf couldn't be fought, not yet. Neither her, nor her allies with her were strong enough to take Odyn. If they did, He'd flatten them.
It was then that Emerald told her what happned at the end of Roy's match. After she explained it Cinder was inwardly fuming. Where did these elves come from? And why in remnant were they so freaking strong? It was almost unfair how strong these elves were. And for some reason they still held back a ton of their power. One thing was for sure, before Cinder could see her plan come to fruition, she had to find a way to dispatch the dark elves. They were too big of a threat to her goals right now, not that she'd ever acknowledge that.
With Ozpin....
Within the headmaster's office at twilight, Professor Ozpin is facing the window, his back to the elevators when the doors open and Qrow Branwen steps inside, approaching his desk with coffee mug in hand. To Qrow's surprise, Sybrh and Tarro are there as well. He pays them a nod, acknowledging them, but continues forward towards Ozpin.
"You know Oz, he's making you like like the fool here.," Qrow said.
"I'm aware. His heart is in the right place. He's just... misguided.. needs some proper guidance.," Ozpin replied nonchalant.
"You pity him, I get it. Sometimes though..., I'm not even sure he has a heart. So, have you chosen your guardian yet?," Qrow said taking a swig of his drink before shifting his weight to face Ozpin.
Ozpin spins around his chair to face Qrow before neatly folding his hands as he responds.
"Maidens choose themselves. I simply believe I've found the right candidate. Ever since the day I met her, I had the feeling she would be the one. She's strong, intelligent, caring... but most importantly, she's ready.," Ozpin said briefly pausing and continuing.
"Though... for some reason I feel as though, there's another presence inside of her. One that shares the same thoughts and feelings as our Guardian candidate.," Ozpin added.
Sybrh walked forward and interjected herself into the conversation.
"Not to interrupt, head master but I believe I can tell you why that is.," Sybrh said.
"Oh? You have an answer as to why ol' Oz here is supposedly feeling another presesnce inside of our guardian candidate?," Qrow asked.
This caught his attention.
"Do tell, miss Arkham.," Ozpin said.
Tarro looked at her with concern.
"Are you sure you want to tell them that, Sy?," Tarro asked.
Sybrh looked to Tarro.
"I know you're concerned, and I thank you for that. You needn't worry, Tarro. Better they found out now, rather than later.," Sybrh said.
This answer seemed to satisfy Tarro as he then dropped the issue and just listened.
"Well... The soul of one of our lost comrades may be dwelling within that particular young lady. It's a result of spell that our King cast some time ago. I can't say for certain, but I think I may know which dark elf is an inhabitant of the other part of the girl's soul.," Sybrh explained.
"I see... can you tell me the name of this elf?," Ozpin asked.
"Unfortunately, no as i cannot say for certainty which dark elf soul it is.," Sybrh said.
"So you're telling me one of you dark elves is inside of the girl who's our candidate for the guardian of the maiden's power?," Qrow asked.
"More like their soul or spirit is inside of her, just until they fully reincarnate.," Sybrh answered.
"Hold on.. did you say reincarnate?," Qrow asked.
Sybrh nodded.
"See what our King cast... was a Reincarnation or Revival spell. In other words... an elf who had previously perished could be brought back to life through elven magic.," Sybrh answered.
"I see... that certainly changes how we go about this.," ozpin said.
"Indeed. When dealing with a Dark Elven soul, you need to be a bit more careful.," Sybrh cautioned them.
"That said, we leave how you go about doing this to you. Just speak as if you're speaking to 2 people.," Tarro said.
"I'll take your warnings into consideration. I believe our guardian is on her way up now.," Ozpin said.
As Ozpin lists off the qualities they are searching for in a guardian for a maiden's power, Pyrrha is seen to be entering the elevator of the Cross Continental Transmit System tower. She turns just when the doors close on her ambiguous smile. The voice inside her then speaks up.
"Pyrrha, you may want to be prepared."
"Why do you say that, Sarai?," Pyrrha asked.
"Not sure why... but I feel as though you will be forced to make a rather important decision soon."
"I see. But why tell me now?" Pyrrha asked.
"Since the two of us are connected, i felt you should be aware. No matter what decision you make, so long as it brings no harm to my people, I will support you."
"Thank you, Sarai." Pyrrha replied back.
"She doesn't know it yet, but a decision is already being forced upon her without her knowledge. I fear for my sister, here... May udiya guide and protect you, Pyrrha..."
The doors to elevator close as the scene then turns to black.
To be continued....
Ending theme:

Ending: My hero academia season 4 endung theme - Koukai no Uta
Visuals: Ranges from the characters introduced so far before turning to a dark screen split between the heroes and villains. Mercury struggles to choose a side until hands from the lighter image reach out to him and shatter his dark background. It then shows stills of each character in range of importance in the story before ending with the forces of light behind Team Rwby and Odyn looking up to Cinder and the forces of darkness.
And done! Whew! It took me awhile to write this one and determine where the story was going to go. I figured putting Adam and Tirion in there disguised would gave them a little perspective for when they fight the elves later on. As you can probably tell, the dark elves haven't even unleashed their full power... yet. It's coming, don't worry. I hope you guys enjoyed the little bit of extra Roy x Yang development I threw in there.
Shallot and Blake will be getting their interactions soon, don't worry, I haven't forgotten. The other saiyan characters will be getting interactions with the main cast soon as well. The black clover part of the story will come into play when Cinder hatches her plan. I'm thinking the King and Queen will have something to say to Atlas once volume 3 concludes. And it's not ending how it did in cannon, i have a bit of twist in mind for volume 3's ending.
Cinder will be more careful right now, but we all know she's going to think she can beat up the elvez once she has her maiden powers... that's just villains are. I still don't know what to do about Emerald, leave a comment or PM me about what i should do with Emerald. Anyways that's it for now, until the next update guys!
Next time.... Chapter 20: "Fall", Cinder's trap part III
