Chapter 46: Saving The Hero! (3)
Elza swiftly chanted a spell, and a portal opened just as Thoran's axe was about to strike her. From the portal emerged a massive arm, intercepting the axe and halting it mid-swing.
Thoran pulled his weapon back and leapt backward, creating some distance between them. "Wow, what's this? A new creation of yours?" he asked, his tone tinged with curiosity and amusement.
Elza sneered, pride flashing across her face. "Behold my masterpiece The Abomination Demon Chimera! It's the pinnacle of my research, combining the strongest monsters and infusing them with middle-class demon blood!"
Thoran's expression lit up with excitement. "Oh, this looks like it'll be fun! Maybe I'll gain some new powers after this." Without hesitation, he charged at the Chimera, launching a relentless series of attacks.

Meanwhile, on Rowen's side, inside the room at the end of the right corridor.
"So it's the same here too," Rowen muttered as he surveyed the room. "But what was that 'Perfected Specimen' inscription on the entrance about?"
He began searching the room for clues about its purpose. At the far corner, he discovered a piece of paper.
"Hmm... This says the objects here are perfected and ready to be transported via teleportation magic to Duke Crimsene's residence? What? Why the Duke's residence? Does Tristan know about this too?"
Rowen scratched his head in frustration. "Ugh, whatever. I'll ask him about it later. For now, I'll destroy all these monstrosities."
Unsheathing his sword, Rowen closed his eyes and channeled mana into the blade. As golden energy began to radiate from the weapon, he opened his eyes, prepared to unleash a wave of destruction.
But suddenly—
CRASH!
The room shook as something smashed through the left wall, obliterating part of the structure and several rows of experimental tubes.
"What the—?! What just happened?" Rowen exclaimed, startled and confused.
A familiar voice grumbled nearby. "Ugh... That thing's power is insane."
Rowen turned toward the voice and saw Thoran standing up amidst the rubble.
"Thoran? What are you doing here?" Rowen asked, still reeling from the sudden chaos.
Thoran glanced at him, surprised. "Rowen? I should be asking you that. What are you doing here?"
Rowen furrowed his brows. "I'm cleaning this place out. What's going on?"
Thoran let out a dry laugh and dusted himself off. "Well, it's good you're here. I could use some help dealing with the head of this lab. Turns out they're tougher than I thought. Or rather, their creation is!"
"Alright, let's wrap this up quickly. I have a report to deliver to Lord Lucien," Rowen said firmly.
Just then, the massive creature that had hurled Thoran earlier made its appearance.
"Whoa, no wonder you got tossed like that. Look at the size of that thing," Rowen remarked, eyeing the monster.
"Not the time to admire it, it's coming!" Thoran barked as the creature charged toward them.
Rowen quickly cast buffs on Thoran, enhancing his durability and attack power.
"Ah, this'll be a big help," Thoran grinned before launching himself at the monster.
The beast swung a massive fist toward Thoran, who met the attack head-on with a powerful swing of his axe. The monster's arm split apart, but almost instantly, it began regenerating.
"Damn it, this regeneration's going to be a pain," Thoran muttered, frustrated.
Turning to Rowen, he shouted, "Rowen! Take care of the summoner! If we don't deal with them, this fight'll drag on. They're in the room I got thrown out of earlier!"
Rowen nodded. "Understood."
He sprinted toward the adjacent room, but the monster, sensing Rowen's movement toward its master, roared and charged after him.
"GGRAAAOLL!"
However, Thoran intercepted it with a brutal swing, cleaving one of its legs. "Where do you think you're going, huh?" Thoran growled, standing firm between the monster and Rowen.
Rowen arrived at the room, his eyes locking onto Elza, who was standing inside a glowing magic circle.
"So, you're the head researcher here? Do you enjoy toying with human lives like this?" Rowen's voice was filled with anger.
Elza sneered and barked at her subordinates, "What are you waiting for? Kill him!"
Her lackeys immediately began chanting a variety of spells, unleashing a barrage of magical attacks at Rowen.
Amidst the explosions and smoke, one of Elza's subordinates asked nervously, "Did we get him?"
As the smoke cleared, Rowen emerged, standing tall behind a shimmering golden mana shield.
"This won't work on me," Rowen said coldly.
Before the mages could react, Rowen dashed forward, his blade gleaming with golden energy. In a series of swift, decisive strikes, he cut down every one of Elza's subordinates.
"This ends here, monster," Rowen declared, his sword pointed at Elza.
But Elza suddenly screamed, "How long do you plan to just watch, Deluc?!"
Without warning, someone descended from the ceiling, launching a sudden attack at Rowen. He quickly raised his mana shield to block, but the force of the strike shattered it completely. Rowen leapt back, landing a safe distance away.
"Who are you? Another one of this monster's lackeys?" Rowen demanded, eyeing the newcomer.
Deluc let out a dark, mocking laugh. "Hahaha, you could say that. But it's not quite like that. How should I put it… hmm… well, the point is, you're going to die here."
Rowen narrowed his eyes, analyzing Deluc. "Damn it. He's much stronger than I am. I can't believe my shield shattered from a single strike."
Deluc smirked. "Done strategizing? In that case, die!"
He rushed at Rowen with blinding speed. Rowen struggled to block his attacks, each one heavier than the last. In the chaos, Deluc delivered a powerful uppercut followed by a crushing blow to Rowen's midsection, sending him flying across the room. He slammed into Thoran, knocking them both to the ground.
"Hey, Rowen, are you seriously telling me you couldn't even take care of her?" Thoran grumbled as he shoved Rowen off himself.
Rowen grimaced. "It's not that I can't, it's that she has an ally whose strength rivals that monster's. None of my defenses are holding up against him."
Thoran sighed in exasperation. "What kind of knight commander can't even deal with a single opponent?"
Rowen, irritated, shot back, "Hey, everyone has their strengths. My skills are specialized for large-scale battles, not one-on-one duels!"
Thoran exhaled sharply. "Fine, fine. We'll switch. You handle the grotesque beast. I'll deal with these two."
Rowen nodded, and the two quickly assumed their new positions.
Deluc, sit lazily atop a pile of rubble, yawned. "Are you two done chatting? So, which one of you will face me?"
Thoran, his grin wild with excitement, stepped forward. "That'd be me, you arrogant bastard. Let's see just how strong you really are."
Deluc's lips curled into a wicked grin as he rose to his feet. "Alright then, handsome. Come at me."
Thoran began sprinting toward him, his axe ready, and with a mischievous smirk, he shouted, "You're not so bad-looking yourself, bastard!"
The battle raged on, with Rowen facing off against the massive monster and Thoran clashing with Deluc. Rowen held his ground, trading blows with the creature in a fierce contest of endurance and strength. Meanwhile, Thoran and Deluc's fight was intense, each dodging and countering with precision. They appeared evenly matched, but in Thoran's mind, a troubling thought lingered: "Damn, this guy's strong. The more we trade blows, the heavier his strikes become."
Deluc let out a laugh, his grin both taunting and amused. "Come on, handsome, is this all you've got?"
Thoran leapt backward, smirking through gritted teeth. "I didn't want to use this, but..." His voice trailed off as his body began to transform, shifting grotesquely into a monstrous hybrid of various creatures.
Deluc, seeing the transformation, giggled with delight. "Wow, I love this look! You're even more impressive now, so rugged, so fierce. Hihihi."
Thoran's voice, now a chilling blend of many creatures speaking at once, responded, "Shut up and die."
With blinding speed, Thoran launched himself at Deluc, far faster than before. His claws grazed Deluc's neck, drawing blood.
"Whoa, that was close. Almost lost my head there," Deluc said, still smiling. His grin widened as he added, "Now this is what I call a fight!"
Without warning, Deluc turned and darted toward the monster battling Rowen. He delivered a devastating blow to its head, causing Rowen to hesitate in confusion.
"Sorry to interrupt your duel," Deluc said with mock politeness, then placed a hand on the monster's body. Before Rowen could react, Deluc began draining the creature's energy. The monster roared in agony as its form disintegrated into ash.
"Aaahh, now this is power. Simply exquisite," Deluc sighed, his tongue flicking out in twisted pleasure. His body began to swell, muscles bulging grotesquely as he absorbed the stolen energy.
"Alright then," Deluc declared, his voice dripping with menace, "Let's start the real main event."
In a flash, Deluc leapt toward Rowen, delivering a bone-crushing punch with a single hand. Rowen instinctively raised his mana shield, but it shattered instantly under the force of the attack. Deluc's fist slammed into Rowen's body, sending him crashing into the wall.
Rowen slumped to the ground, using his sword for support as he struggled to stand.
"Now then," Deluc said, turning his attention back to Thoran with a wicked grin, "shall we continue our fight?"
