Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Thunderous Dual Foot Stomp
[This day, the goddess unexpectedly appeared before you.]
[The Skill, Beautiful Youth, A+, continues to shine.]
Susa looks at Ishtar with some confusion.
A year has passed, and in this year, Susa and Ishtar's interactions have actually been surprisingly few. In other words, every day has been spent training his spear techniques and practicing his pole vaulting moves.
Pole vaulting, pole vaulting.
Susa long thought that compared to the villains, he seemed more suited to being the oldest partner of justice. But unfortunately, this world never gave him such an option. Thus, like a villain, his daily life consists only of training and becoming stronger.
Surpassing Gilgamesh and defeating him—that is what Susa believes he should do. A good villain should have perseverance and the spirit of long-term patience. Plan everything, and then implement each plan with strong action. Now, with a solid background and power, it would be a shame not to use them.
But regarding Ishtar...
Susa truly doesn't understand why Ishtar has come. Has she been bullied outside?
"What's wrong with Ishtar?" Susa asked cautiously.
"Its you. You are the problem..." Ishtar replied with some annoyance. "Since you came here, you've been training every day, training. Don't you do anything else? Like, cultivating followers, or showing divine miracles in the mortal world? I worked hard to convince those old fools to recognize you as a god, not for you to just play with spears every day. Aren't you getting tired of it?"
Of course, he is tired but for the sake of his goal, one must continue striving.
Once the simulation ends, he would return to Fuyuki City and there his entire family, along with half the city, would be at stake. Who has time to rest?
Naturally, this world is naturally nothing but a simple dream. But, of course, he couldn't blunt those words.
Susa smiled, "In order to protect my beloved Ishtar, I must become stronger."
"I've told you, I don't need you to protect me!"
Ishtar huffed, "And I'm a goddess; you're just my servant. No matter what, you can never be stronger than me. What's the point of you getting stronger? Even Gilgamesh, I don't need to lift a finger for him. I can release the Bull of Heaven, and that's enough. You should know, the Bull of Heaven is also a god-level being. As for you, you're merely my servant."
"Yes, I am Ishtar's servant." Susa knelt on one knee, gently kissed Ishtar's hand, and said, "That's why I must protect Ishtar. If Ishtar were ever in danger, as the strongest god in my heart, you would be able to resolve it on your own. But what if there are more enemies? What if there are other traps?
That's why I'm willing to give everything I have to protect you. My beloved master, Ishtar."
"You, you...!"
Ishtar hastily pulled her hand away, flustered and unable to speak. What is this? Talking about protecting her and calling her beloved master?
"Why are you still so dense? I told you, I don't need your protection."
Ishtar sighed, "Then, in that case..."
With a motion through the air, a long spear appeared in Ishtar's hand. "Let me show you with power that you don't need to do this."
[Ishtar adopts a battle stance.]
[And she tells you that, for fairness, she will fight using the same level of power as you.]
[After apologizing for the rudeness, you engage in combat with Ishtar.]
[As expected from the goddess of war of Sumer, even though she lowered her level, Ishtar's combat skills are exceptional. With just these skills, she could have been a towering hero in the fading age of gods.]
[You are nearly overwhelmed by the goddess's one-sided attacks. You once again realize the vast difference between gods and humans. Even though you are a demi-god now, you are still far from the level of Ishtar, who stands at the pinnacle.]
[But you don't lose heart. Instead, you focus on defense while seeking an opportunity.]
[Finally, you thrust your spear into the ground and, as Ishtar leaps into the air, you throw yourself up, delivering a series of rapid kicks to her.]
["Pole Vault: Thunderous Dual Foot Stomp," a special technique you honed over long training.]
[As your feet strike Ishtar's softest spots on her body, you successfully turn the tide of the battle.]
[You land, quickly swinging your spear and holding it to Ishtar's neck.]
"Ishtar, I'm sorry."
Ishtar fell to the ground, looking at Susa with disarray.
She bit her lip. Her expression fluctuates between calm and stormy.
It's unclear whether she's reflecting on the intense impact she just took or if it's because she was defeated. If it had been anyone else, Ishtar could have easily used her full power to kill them. In fact, there was about a seventy percent chance she would have done so.
But facing her servant, her most sincere follower, though it felt a bit strange, Ishtar just couldn't bring herself to strike him.
After a moment of hesitation, she gritted her teeth and said stubbornly, "Don't think you've won just because of this. I held back some of my strength to let you win. With your current power, you're still far from being able to protect me."
"I know..." Susa calmly acknowledged, giving Ishtar an out. Then, he smiled brightly and said, "That's why I must work even harder to protect Ishtar!"
(AN: Man, I am in ICU, dying from sheer level of cringe.)
His cheerful smile was entirely out of place for a villain but just like that, though on the surface he seemed like a sunny, carefree boy, beneath it all, he was the most cunning and dark-hearted of beings.
Constantly drawing closer to the lofty goddess, pulling her down from her celestial perch, making her depend on him, and turning her into his tool.
He could adopt whatever posture he wished.
For example, he could bury his face between her thighs and take a deep breath. Kiss her neck, fondle her ass and touch her feet.
SNIFFFFF!
Heh heh heh.
Susa thought he was a real chad who would soon be subduing a baddie like Ishtar.
Ishtar turned her face away, not looking at Susa, and repeated, "Your efforts are meaningless. I don't need your protection... But since you insist, there's nothing I can do about it. From today on, if you want to train, you're free to do so, but every training session, I'll personally oversee it. After all, as my servant, a servant of war no less, you can't remain so weak."
Ishtar rose from the ground, resuming her usual proud demeanor. She placed her hands on her hips and said, "From now on, don't think training will be easy. It will only get tougher. Hmph, it will be your punishment for training constantly and be simple and cute- I mean not appealing."
After all, no other servant would bury themselves in training like this. They wouldn't avoid intimacy with their goddess, nor would they completely ignore their goddess's thoughts. Instead, they would let their goddess watch them train from the sidelines.
But Susa was total opposite. It was simply outrageous. That was why Ishtar couldn't help but appear in front of Susa.
(AN: The sniffy part is my thing. Don't blame the real author.)
