Chapter 17: Chapter 17
===Godrick===
Jeanne found Godrick sitting on one of the large rocks that had fallen when the Hanging Gardens had taken to the air. She could tell something was off, so she approached cautiously.
"Godrick? Are you alright?" She asked.
He didn't respond to her, only turning away when she entered his line of sight. She didn't know what had happened, but she knew it was best to just let him be for now.
"I'll be heading north. Join me when you are ready?" She asked tentatively.
Godrick nodded his head, and she left. He was still angry about what had happened, still trying to keep himself in check for the moment.
'I'll be able to go all out soon.' He thought to himself as he started to feel himself calm down.
Venting the little frustration he had left he suddenly stood up, grabbed the rock he had been sitting on, and threw it with all his might at the setting sun. It disappeared over the tree line so he couldn't see how far it had gone, but he felt better. Calling for his halberd, it broke through the trees as it entered his hand.
'Don't want to keep the little lady waiting.' He thought as he began to run after Jeanne.
After catching up to her, the two of them followed the Hanging Gardens across the plains and valleys. They finally reached a stopping point as the Hanging Gardens stopped moving. In the distance a large castle could be seen, set in the middle of the large valley they had come to.
A great dust cloud had formed below the Hanging Gardens as it dropped something from its walls. Hundreds of bone warriors started to form from the ground as the dust settled.
"The war is starting here." Jeanne said.
She turned to Godrick.
"There is something strange about the master of red. If you run into him, subdue him and bring him to me. I think it would be best if we split up for the moment. Just don't cause too much damage." She said as she turned away from him, and jumped down the small cliff they were on.
Thinking the best course of action, Godricks thoughs were interrupted by a fully powered magical purple beam that fired at him from the Hanging Gardens.
He raised his left hand to intercept the beam, stopping it dead in its tracks. The excess power that wasn't blocked by his hand destroyed everything around him. As the blue and purple light shined around him he could feel his anger rising.
The red faction had tried to kill and attack Jeanne and him every chance they got.
As the beam stopped he lowered his left hand that was now white hot. It only went up to about his elbow, so there wasn't much energy to absorb. But absorb it did. He knew that someone, most likely the assassin of red and her master was watching him. He responded by raising a middle finger towards the Hanging Gardens. They responded by firing another beam at him, which he stopped again.
'It's time for some retaliation.' He thought to himself.
Leaping from his position, he landed right in the center of the dragonbone warriors. Bringing his halberd down as he landed, he also released the kinetic energy that had been stored in the weapon up to the point. The result of the devastating shock wave was complete, and utter annihilation of the surrounding areas, and beings.
Standing from his crouched position he nodded his head as he placed his halberd on his shoulder, and looked at the devastation around him.
The remaining bone warriors closed in around him, so he decided to deal with the rest of them all well, as a giant middle finger to the red faction.
Taking his halber he began to swing it back and forth, destroying hoards of dragonbone warriors. Cutting them completely in half, or turning their bones to dust with his halberd. After a while of annihilating them Godrick heard Jeannes voice in his head.
"Godrick, berserker of red, has turned sides and is actively fighting against his comrades. Take him out." She said.
Godrick felt a bit dissatisfied with what she had asked him to do.
'Serves the red faction right.' He thought to himself. But then he felt like he finally had a chance to finally cut loose a little bit, so it wasn't all bad.
Leaping from his position to the location Jeanne had told him, he landed amidst the ongoing battle between the Lancers of red and black, Atalanta, and Spartacus.
As he stood once more, they all turned to look at him.
"Name yourself!" Lancer of black shouted to him.
Godrick ignored him as he looked at his target.
"I can feel it! You are an oppressor!" Spartacus shouted As he began to charge at Godrick.
Spartacus lept at him, sword held high as he began to bring it down on him.
Godrick decided to not hold back as much, dematerialized his halberd and caught Spartacus' strike with his left hand. Spartacus was a giant man, but not as large as Godrick. So when Godrick caught his blow, and delivered an uppercut with his right hand, it flung Spartacus almost out of the valley. Not knowing where he landed, Godrick decided to start walking towards his approximate location. Suddenly he found a spear to his throat as Lancer of black stood in front of him.
"You will name yourself when I ask you to." He said proudly.
Godrick looked down to the man who came up to the lower part of his chest in annoyance. Hot steam shot through the holes in his helmet as a warning to the man to let him pass, but the Lancer seemed to be oblivious to it.
Karna and Atalanta stayed back from the giant knight and the Lancer of Black. They didn't want round two after what they had been through earlier that day.
As Godrick prepared to deal with the nuisance in front of him he heard laughter coming from the direction Spartacus had been sent. Lancer of Black looked in the direction the laughter was coming from, so Godrick took advantage of the distraction. Grabbing the spear with his left hand, Godrick struck out with his right, completely knocking the Lancer away from him. The Lancer let go of his spear as he hit the ground hard. Godrick tossed the spear away from him casually, as he looked at the downed Lancer. Hot steam came from his helmet again as he walked away, going towards his target.
Lancer of Black picked himself up from the ground after a few moments, as he crawled over to pick his spear up from where Godrick had tossed it.
"How dare you!" He shouted at Godricks fading back.
"Do not walk away from me!" He shouted As he used his Noble phantasm Kazikli Bey to send a multitude of pikes to shoot up around, and where Godrick was.
Godrick raised his right foot, and brought it down on one of the spikes that was beginning to form as he stomped the earth, shattering the spikes around him. He then turned to the Lancer as he brought his left hand up near his chest before clenching it into a fist. Strange jagged markings appeared over his arm as one lit up, then faded from the others before they all disappeared.
Suddenly the Lancer of Black had an overwhelming feeling to kneel down, which he did. He then felt like he shouldn't speak again for a while.
Godricks command was simple. Kneel down and shut up.
Godrick turned back to the oncoming Berserker as he readied himself for battle. Berserker could now be seen running at him full force with a mad grin on his face.
Spartacus was a purely melee fighter, so it would be good to fight someone like himself.
Materializing his halberd, Godrick caught Berserkers blow on the haft of his weapon.
Pushing him off of it, he struck out quickly with the butt end, striking Spartacus in the face. This only seemed to deepen his smile however, as Spartacus brought his sword back down at Godrick. Sidestepping the blow, he shoulder checked Spartacus which pushed him back enough to let Godrick swing his halberd. He swung at Spartacus' right leg, and took the limb just above the knee, leaving him off balance.
Quickly spinning to build momentum, Godrick swung his halberd into Spartacus' chest with the hammer side of his halberd, throwing him away. Godrick heard bones crunch as he sent his target away from him, only to hear more laughter. Spartacus stood once more as his leg regrew. Godrick left his Halberd standing in the dirt as he took a more hands on approach.
Slowly walking to Spartacus who charged at him once more, he ducked under the large mans wild swing. Getting behind him he lifted Spartacus with one arm before throwing him into the ground, which shattered. As Spartacus lay on the ground he still tried to stab at Godrick with his sword. Godrick grabbed the arm holding the sword before breaking it at the elbow. He then stomped downwards hard, driving his foot into the man's chest. He proceeded to rip the arm from the socket, and then beat the man with it.
Only more laughter filled the air, as Godrick ripped more limbs off, trying to keep up with the regeneration. Stepping away from the mangled man for a moment Godrick thought on the best way to kill this servant. He was interrupted as Spartacus limbs returned, and jumped into action once more. He Grabbed Godrick around the waist in a great bear hug, lifting him and jumping into the air before slamming Godricks back into the ground, creating a large crater.
Godrick retaliated with a right hook, but it did nothing as Spartacus only laughed as he began to rain blows down on him. Blocking most of the blows, Godrick caught one with his left forearm, allowing a split moment to push himself up and headbutt Spartacus. Blood poured from Spartacus' nose as he reared back before Godrick reached up and grabbed him by the straps on his chest. He then pulled Spartacus downwards once more to smash his head into the rubble around him. Godrick then grabbed Spartacus by the throat, and twisted to his left as he switched their positions.
Now on top, Godrick started punching out, burying Spartacus' face into the stone below. Spartacus in an effort to defend himself struck out with a wild blow that hit Godrick in the face. It pushed him back only a little, but it was enough to allow Spartacus to get his foot free and kick Godrick in the chest, sending the knight off of him. Godrick landed on his back, but rolled backwards finding his feet as Spartacus was on him again. Using a little more strength this time, Godrick caught a blow with his left forearm once again, then struck out with a right haymaker that completely buried Spartacus in the stone below. The Shockwave of the blow destroyed the surrounding areas, and blew away the dust they had raised in their battle.
Living up to his name, the Berserker ripped himself from the ground and attempted to grapple Godrick once more, but was met with a vicious backhand to the face. Hearing bones break once more Godrick picked up the fallen sword Spartacus had dropped and went to impale the man. Spartacus had stood once more and reached out with his right hand to stop the blade by catching Godricks arm. As his strike came to a stop, Godrick then brought his knee up, and struck the pommel of the weapon, sending it straight into Spartacus' chest.
Letting go of the weapon, Godrick struck at Spartacus' face with a right hook, before grabbing Spartacus' retaliation strike with his left hand. Ripping the arm off once more Godrick kicked him in the chest, sending him to the ground. As he did so he held up his right hand, where his halber appeared a moment later. Grabbing the weapon in both hands Godrick brought it down with such force, it not only impaled Spartacus, but caused an earthquake all the other servants felt.
Ripping the halberd out of his foes chest, he looked down at his work. The fight was over, as Spartacus had finally stopped moving. Their fight had brought them close to where Jeanne and some of the other Servants were. Feeling her close by Godrick began to jog to where she was. As he got about half way, he felt the ground begin to shake, as a mass of flesh, and magic began to grow from the ground.
Realizing his fight wasn't over Godrick prepared himself for whatever this was. A giant worm like figure appeared from the ground as purple lightning radiated from the mass. Glowing sacks of energy covered the body of the worm as it began to speak
"The time has come! With one blow I will eradicate every form of oppression, and crush all those who hold authority in this land!" The worm like figure said.
Jeanne and another servant had been close by, as they began to run in Godrick direction.
"THIS IS SPARTACUS!" The worm said as a glowing ball of purple energy formed in its mouth.
"GODRICK!" Jeanne shouted as she unfurled her banner and ran to him. Dropping his halberd and running at her, Godrick picked Jeanne up, and threw her out of the way before the purple ball popped, and sent all its energy straight at Godrick. The beam hit him as it barely missed Jeanne as everything faded around her due to the bright light.
Godrick was thrown back before digging his hand into the stone beneath him, and started to push against the purple beam of energy. It took every ounce of strength he could muster to stand in defiance of the Noble Phantasm, before everything faded to white.
