Chapter 84: 84. New Member, Selection.
Fleur spent the next few hours learning everything there was to know about the group. Ryan's gifts—the Inner World, Fountain of Youth, Gate of Babylon, Peerage System, Heavenly Restriction, Devil Fruits, Ancient Stone Talisman, Haki—each revelation left her more astonished than the last.
It was a world beyond anything she had ever imagined, yet she didn't feel out of place. At first, she had worried. Britain was known for its prejudice against Veela, werewolves, vampires, and other magical beings. But learning that her new sisters weren't entirely human either erased any lingering doubts.
To test the waters, she even revealed her bird-like transformation, sprouting feathers and a beak-like mouth. Ryan's response? The same warmth and affection as always. He wasn't bothered in the slightest.
Her worries melted away. She belonged here.

Over the next month, Fleur settled into her new life with ease. She bonded with Yue, Rachel, and Serenity, quickly growing accustomed to their unique personalities. Yue, ever naughty and mischievous, shared some of her spicy pictures and favorite stories often driving Fleur to the point of almost mauling Ryan, still she was also smart often spending evenings discussing various spells and theories with Fleur. Rachel, though reserved at times, opened up during their group outings, revealing a sharp wit and a shared appreciation for ancient books and cuddling with Ryan near the fireplace for quiet reading time . Serenity, despite her assassin's background, found a quiet companionship with Fleur, both of them enjoying silent moments together, appreciating the comfort of simple understanding.
Ryan made sure to include Fleur in their routines, from study sessions in the Ravenclaw common room to training exercises in the Inner World. But what Fleur loved most were their trips to Hogsmeade. These outings became frequent as the month progressed, offering them a chance to relax and enjoy each other's company away from Hogwarts.
During one such trip, they strolled through the snow-covered village, visiting the Three Broomsticks for butterbeer. Fleur found herself laughing freely as Ryan teased Yue about her love for sweet things, while Rachel debated with Serenity over which shops to visit next. Fleur found joy in these moments—moments that made her feel part of something greater, something unbreakable.
As the days passed, excitement built up at Hogwarts. The Triwizard Tournament was the talk of the school, with students from all schools eager to see who would be chosen. Fleur, of course, was the clear favorite to be chosen as the champion for Beauxbatons, while Viktor Krum stood as Durmstrang's pride, with Cedric Diggory or Angelina Johnson for Hogwarts.
Then came the night of the selection. The Great Hall buzzed with anticipation as the Goblet of Fire flared to life, spitting out the names of the chosen champions.
"Viktor Krum!" Dumbledore announced first, the Durmstrang students erupting into cheers as the Bulgarian Quidditch star stood and made his way toward the front.
"Fleur Delacour!" The Beauxbatons students clapped and cheered as Fleur gracefully rose, offering a confident smile before joining Viktor.
Finally, the flames danced once more before spitting out a final name.
"Ryan Grim!"
A hush fell over the hall before whispers broke out, confusion and shock rippling through the crowd. Ryan, at only 14, had been chosen as Hogwarts' champion. Unlike in another timeline, there was no second Hogwarts champion. Harry Potter remained seated, his face a mixture of shock and surprise as his friend was picked.
Ryan stood with a confident smile, before making his way to the front, ignoring the murmurs and stares that followed him. Yue, Rachel and Fleur all exchanged knowing glances. This was no accident. The Goblet had chosen, and they knew Ryan was more than capable of facing whatever came next.

"Ryan, I'm curious—did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?" Dumbledore asked, his tone casual. He wasn't concerned about Ryan competing; he knew the boy was far more capable than he let on.
Ryan didn't look like a typical 14-year-old, with his muscular build and towering height of nearly 6'3". He had always been tall, but now, he had the presence of someone much older.
"Yep," Ryan replied, his voice steady. "A simple switching charm with Cedric's paper when he went to enter. I also tossed my name in the Goblet from outside the line, and had an older student do the same, just in case."
Dumbledore nodded thoughtfully. "Ah, thinking outside the box."
The two of them were standing in an antechamber with the other champions and their headmasters. Unlike in the original timeline, there was no complaint about a fourth Hogwarts champion. Ryan's youth was seen as an advantage by the others, who assumed their older students had the upper hand.
What they didn't know was that, while Ryan might be behind in magical knowledge compared to the headmasters, he could easily outmatch anyone in the room in combat. One move, and he could defeat them all.
The door opened, and several more figures entered: Ludo Bagman, Percy Weasley, an unfamiliar woman, Professor Flitwick, and Professor McGonagall. It seemed the woman was Bertha Jorkins, who, along with Percy, was assisting Bagman with the tournament.
Ryan silently noted that she, along with Crouch Sr., was someone he had inadvertently saved from Voldemort and Peter Pettigrew.
"Right then!" Ludo Bagman announced with a wide grin, clapping his hands together. "The first task is a test of bravery and courage to face the unknown, so you won't know what it is until you face it! It will be held on November 24th, you are only allowed your wand for this task."
I'll have to double check and make sure the first task is still dragons, who knows what might have changed with all of my previous butterfly effects.
Crouch was in jail, Snape was dead, Moody wasn't teaching, Lucius Malfoy was dead, Pettigrew was in jail, Voldemort was who knows where, for all I know the tasks could be completely different, we might have a dueling competition or something.
Of course I would still tell my little Veela who was currently giving me those come fuck me eyes what I knew.
