Chapter 211: Break it down
The two then heard Rumble happen, as Mash them pulled out her shield and Kama hee bow, as then the wall broke, as the dust clears to show it was done by Spartacus, then behind was Sion coughing up dust, and with her way as few other Servant.
Mash lowered her shield slightly as she recognized Sion, though her eyes remained alert, scanning the area for any threats. Kama, still gripping her bow, kept her stance defensive but nodded in acknowledgment.
"Well, that was quite the entrance, Spartacus," Kama remarked dryly, glancing at the Servant who had broken through the wall with a forceful display of power.
Sion, now brushing dust from her clothes, gave a half-apologetic smile. "When I said 'break it down,' I didn't mean it literally, but it got the job done." She looked at Mash and Kama with a relieved expression. "We found you. Now, let's get everyone out of here before things get worse."
Behind Sion, several other Servants were also emerging from the dust, ready to assist. The atmosphere was tense, but the team's relief at finally being reunited was palpable. They had no time to waste.
Mash nodded, understanding the urgency. "We were starting to feel like something was coming for us." She glanced around, still uneasy. "Let's move before we attract any more attention."
With Spartacus leading the way, the group moved quickly, hoping to avoid any further encounters as they made their way toward safety. The feeling of impending danger still lingered in the air, and they knew the true challenge was far from over.
The group, now reunited, quickly made their way through the winding tunnels. Spartacus, ever the powerhouse, led the way with his usual bravado, though even his imposing presence seemed slightly restrained by the situation. The air felt heavier as they navigated through the vast underground network, a sense of impending danger hanging over them like a storm.
Sion, moving alongside Mash and Kama, kept her eyes scanning their surroundings. "We need to find a way out of here," she murmured. "If the World Tree is reacting to us, then we're already in danger. There's no telling what could happen if we don't leave before it notices we're here."
Mash's grip tightened on her shield, her expression serious. "I felt something too. It's not just a matter of getting out—it's about not drawing attention while we do."
Kama's sharp gaze flicked to the horizon. "Then let's move quickly. No more surprises."
They hurried through the tunnels, following the route Sion had scouted. As they neared the exit, the ground beneath their feet trembled again, this time more violently. Dust and debris fell from the ceiling, and the sound of something massive moving toward them echoed in the distance.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Sion muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowing.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed in the tunnel ahead, the figure of a massive Jotun emerging from the darkness. The ground shook with each of its steps, and its eyes glowed with a malicious, predatory intent.
"Everyone, get ready!" Sion shouted as she raised her staff, preparing for combat.
Mash stepped forward, raising her shield to brace for impact. "We can't afford to waste time," she said, her voice steady despite the looming threat.
The battle was about to begin, and with the World Tree's power potentially closing in on them, the stakes were higher than ever. The group had no choice but to fight their way through if they were to escape and regroup with the rest of their allies.
As then Spartacus jumped as he looked at the Jotun, a he attacked it. "Muhahhhahahaa, don't worry my friend, I shall handle this".
They were sent back, as Billy ready his gun, as he looked at Sion. "I gess you were right to bring a Berserker here".
Spartacus charged toward the massive Jotun with a battle cry, his berserker rage driving him forward with immense power. His axe swung down with devastating force, but the Jotun managed to stagger back, its thick hide taking the brunt of the blow.
"Good to see you're still the same, Spartacus!" Billy quipped, raising his gun and positioning himself beside Sion. He knew the berserker was a wild card, but there was no denying Spartacus's strength in battle.
Sion adjusted her glasses, her usual calm demeanor still intact despite the chaos. "I never doubted my judgment," she replied with a small smile, her eyes focused on the unfolding battle. While Spartacus was taking the brunt of the assault, she knew it wouldn't be enough without a coordinated attack.
The Jotun, enraged, swung its colossal fist at Spartacus, sending him flying back with a powerful blow. But the berserker was quick to recover, grinning widely as he lunged back into the fight, his sheer willpower refusing to let him falter.
"We need to wrap this up quickly," Sion murmured, "or the World Tree will notice us for sure." She wasn't about to let their position be compromised.
Billy nodded. "Let's take this thing down."
With their combined efforts, they had to bring down the Jotun fast. Sion prepared a spell, ready to add her magic to the fray, while Billy aimed for the Jotun's weak points. It was a race against time to finish the fight and escape before the deeper dangers of the Lostbelt could fully close in on them.
The battle raged on as Spartacus continued to clash with the Jotun, his sword biting deep into its thick hide. Meanwhile, Billy, cool-headed and precise, fired shots at its weak points, creating openings for Spartacus to exploit. Sion, her mind calculating, was readying a more powerful spell to bring the Jotun to its knees.
"Now, Spartacus!" she shouted, her voice cutting through the chaos. Spartacus grinned, his berserker rage peaking as he charged once more, aiming for the creature's head. He swung his axe with all his might, and the blow landed with a sickening crack. The Jotun staggered, roaring in fury as the powerful strike weakened its resolve.
"That's it, keep pushing it back!" Billy yelled, adjusting his aim and firing a well-placed shot to the Jotun's exposed side, adding more damage.
Sion's eyes flashed with determination as she released a massive burst of ice magic, trapping the Jotun's legs in a block of solid frost, slowing its movements. "Now, before it can recover!" she called out, her voice commanding as she looked to Billy and Spartacus.
With the creature partially immobilized, the three of them acted swiftly. Billy took aim again, while Spartacus, his rage-fueled strength unyielding, charged forward once more with his axe. With one final, devastating blow, the Jotun's defenses shattered, and it collapsed to the ground in defeat.
"That was too close for comfort," Billy muttered as the dust began to settle. "Nice work, everyone."
Sion adjusted her glasses, a satisfied smile tugging at her lips. "I told you not to doubt me," she said, her calm demeanor back in place.
But before they could relax, a tremor shook the ground beneath their feet. The rumblings of the World Tree's response were felt even from the distance they had fought at. Sion glanced toward the horizon. "We need to leave, now. The World Tree is aware of us."
Billy gave a nod. "We better make it quick, then."
As the team moved to gather their bearings and prepare to leave the area, they knew the mission wasn't over—only the first chapter in what was shaping up to be an intense journey through this Lostbelt.
Then they heard something, as Mash looker at Sion. "W-what is that".
Kama then felt as she spoke. "It feel like Divin Enegry".
As they saw it, something that looked like snake, as or was moving as then group jumped away, as something almost like it was phasing through the ground cane up and ate and dead Jotun, as then a magic spell napped as the group was back In Nemo Ship
Skadi looked as she spoke. "Good we manage to teleport you guys back".
The group took a moment to catch their breath after the terrifying encounter, the lingering sense of danger still fresh in their minds. As they appeared on the Nemo Ship, Da Vinci quickly assessed the situation, her gaze flicking over the team to gauge their condition. "Are you guys okay? Because you look like you saw death itself."
Before anyone could respond, the sudden appearance of King Hassan caught their attention. "Did someone call for me?" he asked, his presence always commanding and ominous.
Da Vinci waved him off. "No, no one called you."
King Hassan simply nodded, unfazed, and left as quickly as he'd appeared, leaving the group to process the recent events.
Sion, visibly shaken but trying to maintain composure, spoke first. "What... what was that thing? It felt like divine energy, but it was unlike anything I've ever encountered."
Kama nodded, her expression tense. "That... thing. It looked like some kind of serpent or snake, but it was more than just a creature—it felt like a force of nature, something tied to the divine."
Mash was still processing the experience, looking down at her shield in silence. "I-I thought we were done for when it ate that Jotun... Whatever that thing was, it was fast, powerful, and... not of this world."
Skadi, who had been silently observing, finally spoke up. "It seems you've all encountered something far worse than you thought. But rest assured, you're safe now. We'll have to prepare for whatever comes next."
Da Vinci added, her tone shifting to one of concern. "Whatever that creature was, it was clearly a threat. But now that you're back here, we need to figure out what it means for your mission."
The team gathered their thoughts, the tension still hanging in the air, knowing their journey was far from over and the enemies they faced were growing more formidable by the moment.
Dr. Romani's voice cut through the tension, his expression thoughtful as he analyzed the situation. "You said it looked like a snake," he began, his tone serious, "but since it was in the World Tree, it must be Nidhogg. But to be more accurate, it's better to call it a Worm Dragon."
Sion furrowed her brows, taking in Romani's words. "A Worm Dragon, huh? If that's what we're dealing with, things just got a lot more complicated."
Da Vinci, ever the strategist, chimed in. "Nidhogg is no ordinary being. If it's truly the creature we just saw, it's going to be a challenge. We'll need a better understanding of its capabilities before we make any rash decisions."
The team exchanged concerned looks, realizing the gravity of their situation just deepened.
Later that day, Ritsuka finally had made his way back to Nemo Ship, as the whole group arrived in a meeting.
Ritsuka looked at everyone one pregnant, Da Vinci and Dr Romani was next to Eachother, Mash was by his side, Anastasia was with Kadoc, Akuta ame Ophelia were next to Eachother, as Sion and Goredolf and Sherlock, as he just sighed.
Ritsuka exhaled, scanning the gathered faces. "So let's review our information so far," he began. "We know that Asgard is floating over the other eight realms. Thanks to Loki and Skadi, we've also confirmed that Odin is dead, and Thor has taken his place as the new All-Father and Lostbelt King. Kirschtaria is working with him for his own reasons, and while I have some theories about why, we still need more proof. On top of that, the Bifrost is sealed off."
There was a moment of silence as everyone absorbed the recap.
Sherlock adjusted his gloves. "If the Bifrost is sealed, then we must consider alternative methods of reaching Asgard. However, if Kirschtaria is aiding Thor, it suggests that there is something within Asgard he finds valuable—or someone."
Ophelia tensed slightly at the mention of Kirschtaria but remained quiet.
Sion crossed her arms. "We also have to factor in the presence of Nidhogg. If it's roaming around the World Tree, that means Asgard isn't completely cut off from danger either."
Mash frowned. "But if Thor is the Lostbelt King, does that mean he sees us as enemies, or is there a way to negotiate?"
Kadoc scoffed. "It's a Lostbelt, Mash. The king always sees Proper Human History as a threat."
Ritsuka sighed. "Then our goal is clear. We need to find a way to bypass the Bifrost, uncover what Kirschtaria is after, and determine if Thor is truly beyond reasoning with."
Da Vinci smirked. "Sounds like another impossible mission for Chaldea."
Goredolf paled. "Why do you say that with excitement?!"
The room filled with murmurs as strategies began to form. The road ahead was uncertain, but at least they finally had a direction.
