Chapter 11: Chapter 10: The World Burns – Goodbye, Cu Chulainn

Flames flickered across Ryuu's body.

The fourth activation of Berserk Blood had pushed his body to its absolute limit—but he didn't care.

His Junyan flames condensed around him, forming a compressed inferno that distorted the air itself.

From Artoria's perspective, the flames had no color.

Only the flowing black aura around Ryuu confirmed that the technique truly existed.

Ryuu smirked.

"Saber, think you can handle this?"

With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the condensed flame toward her.

---

BOOOOOOM!

The moment it touched Artoria Alter, the blackened holy knight disappeared in an eruption of pure destruction.

The blast radius spanned tens of meters, tearing through the remains of Fuyuki's crumbling streets.

As the smoke gradually cleared, Ryuu hovered in the air, panting, his wings beating weakly.

But then—

From the depths of the explosion, a silhouette emerged.

Artoria stepped forward, her armor scorched, her left arm burned—but her cold, golden eyes remained unfazed.

---

"Tch. It wasn't enough."

Ryuu cursed under his breath and immediately retreated.

His Berserk Blood faded, and exhaustion slammed into him like a tidal wave.

His limbs felt like lead, his vision blurred, and his body swayed midair.

"Shit… if I fall asleep now, I'm dead."

Forcing himself to stay conscious, Ryuu glided through the ruined city, smashing a few stray skeleton soldiers before ducking into an abandoned building.

---

Once inside, Ryuu collapsed against the wall, his breaths ragged.

His system interface blinked open.

"System, are there any items for quick recovery?"

---

[Phoenix Tears – Instantly restores all injuries and stamina.]

[Cost: 1000 Demon King Points]

---

"Tch. Too expensive. Give me something cheaper."

The system scrolled through options before presenting a more affordable choice.

---

[Minor Restoration Pill – Recovers a small amount of stamina.]

[Cost: 200 Demon King Points]

---

"That'll do. Exchange one."

With a flash, a small pill materialized in his inventory.

Swallowing it in one gulp, Ryuu felt warmth spread through his body—his strength gradually returning.

"Much better…"

Now that he could move again, he took a moment to observe his surroundings.

To his surprise, the house he had taken refuge in wasn't just any ruined building.

Beneath the debris, he found a hidden staircase leading underground.

The faint presence of magical residue confirmed it—this place had once belonged to a Magus.

"Looks like the previous owner couldn't escape the flames either."

Ryuu descended carefully, noting the intricate spell formations lining the walls.

He didn't dare touch anything carelessly—he was no expert in magecraft, after all.

Instead, he found an old, dust-covered bed and collapsed onto it.

"Just a short rest… then I'll find Cu Chulainn."

The moment his head hit the pillow—darkness swallowed him whole.

---

Days Later!

By the time Ryuu woke up, the workshop's lights had long burned out.

A suffocating silence filled the room.

"How long was I out?"

Groggily stumbling to his feet, he climbed out of the basement—only to find himself stepping into a different world.

The Fuyuki City he had known… was gone.

The once standing ruins had collapsed into ash and dust.

The streets burned endlessly, and the sky remained trapped in eternal twilight.

The air reeked of death.

Skeleton soldiers marched aimlessly, their empty sockets reflecting the endless flames.

Ryuu's stomach twisted.

"How long did I sleep…?"

---

Then—

A loud roar shattered the eerie quiet.

Ryuu's head snapped toward the distance.

"That power… Saber's started moving again."

His expression darkened.

"I don't have time to waste. If Cu Chulainn is still alive, I need to find him—now."

With that thought, Ryuu took off toward the docks.

---

By the time he arrived, the pier was overrun by the undead.

Clearing an open space, Ryuu scanned the area for any signs of life.

At first, he found nothing.

But then—

A faint glowing rune on a nearby cargo crate caught his eye.

"A rune… Cu Chulainn was definitely here."

Placing his hand against it, the symbol pulsed with light.

But—

That light immediately drew the attention of every skeleton soldier nearby.

Ryuu's golden pupils flared.

"Heh. Here comes the Demon King's paycheck."

---

The skeletons rushed forward.

But to Ryuu, they were nothing more than moving point dispensers.

"Berserk Blood – Second Activation."

In seconds, he cut through dozens, the system notifications ringing in his ears.

---

[+50 Demon King Points]

[+30 Demon King Points]

[+80 Demon King Points]

---

The grind continued, his points rising rapidly.

999 Demon King Points.

"One more."

Then—

A fireball shot through the battlefield, incinerating the remaining skeletons.

---

BOOM!

Ryuu whipped his head up, furious.

"WHO THE HELL STOLE MY KILL?!"

A laughing voice answered.

"Oi, you should be thanking me, not complaining, kid!"

From the shadows, a familiar figure emerged.

Draped in his blue robes, staff in hand—

Cu Chulainn (Caster).

---

"Oi, Cu Chulainn! Why the hell are you stealing my kills?!"

Cu Chulainn blinked, clearly confused.

"Stealing? Kid, I just saved your ass!"

"Saved me?! You ruined my Demon King Point farming, you damn dog!"

Cu Chulainn raised an eyebrow.

"Tch. The hell are Demon King Points?"

Ryuu ignored him, seething as his counter remained stuck at 999.

Then—

A faint clicking noise echoed nearby.

The sound of approaching skeletons.

Ryuu's eyes gleamed.

"Finally!"

Just as he moved to attack, Cu Chulainn grabbed him by the collar.

"Hell no, we're leaving!"

---

"LET ME GO! I NEED THAT LAST POINT!"

"Are you brain-dead?! There are too many of them! We're getting out of here!"

"I DON'T CARE! MY SKELETON SOLDIERS—!"

Cu Chulainn ignored his screaming, jumping high into the air, dragging Ryuu with him.

As they landed on a secluded rooftop, Cu finally dropped him.

"There. Safe."

Ryuu glared at him.

"YOU OWE ME A SKELETON KILL."

Cu Chulainn facepalmed.

"What the hell is wrong with you…?"

As Ryuu sulked, Cu Chulainn's tone turned serious.

"Alright, kid. Enough screwing around. Tell me everything you know—NOW."

And with that—

The true fight for survival had begun.
