Chapter 6: Actively Drawing Attention
The automatic door of the student council office opened again, allowing Ark to exit.
Claudia, who had been calmly smiling earlier, now lost her smile.
The beautiful girl simply watched Ark's slowly retreating back, and soon after, she pulled out two objects from the sheath around her waist.
They were a pair of machines with strange patterns that resembled a pair of eyes, giving off a slightly eerie vibe.
Claudia took out the pair of strange, eye-like machines and stared at them, as if she were looking into their eyes, with surprise and doubt on her face.
"...Was that an illusion?"
Claudia initially muttered to herself, then shook her head as if to deny it.
"No, that boy definitely showed a strange reaction earlier."
Just as Ark turned his back, the pair of machines attached to Claudia's waist suddenly vibrated for a moment.
As their user, and someone with a very complicated emotional connection to them, Claudia could be certain that even though the vibration only lasted for a moment, she couldn't have been mistaken.
But that was also what shocked Claudia.
"What was your reaction just now?"
"Fear?"
"Or... admiration?"
Claudia stared at the machines in her hands, muttering to herself for a long time, then she smiled wryly.
"So, there are things you fear or admire?"
To the girl, this seemed like something worth laughing at.
"That's truly interesting."
Unavoidably, Claudia began to take an interest in Ark.
Initially, she hadn't taken the student who suddenly ran into the student council office and said he wanted to apply to borrow an Orga Lux seriously.
Everyone knew how precious and valuable Orga Lux was. Except for a few who rejected it, most people in the academy had some ideas about Orga Lux.
Anyone who was interested in improving their own strength, wanted to stand out here, or even make achievements in Festa, would basically not reject the powerful Orga Lux weapon.
Especially those who were originally of average ability, who wouldn't fantasize about Orga Lux?
Ordinary people, because of the power of Orga Lux, eventually stood out in the academy, soared to the top, and even became famous and showcased their skills in Festa. Although such examples weren't everywhere, they would appear in headline reports from time to time.
Throughout history, many celebrities had been Orga Lux users, so many people had ideas about Orga Lux and fantasized about how to borrow Orga Lux, then stand out among the many average students and soar to the skies.
Initially, in Claudia's eyes, Ark was just one of these people.
If it weren't for her duties in the student council, Claudia would never have paid attention to someone like this, let alone taken notice of him.
If Ark had left peacefully, Claudia would have just done her job, helped him submit the application to the academy, and then forgotten about it.
And given his obscurity at Seidoukan Academy, Ark would have been ruthlessly weeded out in the academy's review. It would have been impossible for him to directly obtain the right to use Orga Lux at this stage.
But now, Claudia felt that she might be able to help this unfamiliar student.
"What's so special about this person that he could make Pandora react like this but never appeared in my 'dreams'?"
Claudia approached the large glass window, overlooking the scene below, with a meaningful smile on her face.
"Let's give it a try and see..."

In the courtyard outside the high school building.
Walking out of the school building again and arriving at the gymnasium, Ark seemed to sense something. He raised his head and looked toward the upper floors of the school building.
"That should have caught her attention, right?"
Ark muttered in a low voice.
Being familiar with the original work, he naturally knew that with his current abilities and popularity, even if he applied to the academy to use Orga Lux, his application would most likely be rejected.
If you wanted to apply to use Orga Lux, the most formal way was to first improve your ranking and popularity in the academy, find a way to attract the academy's attention, and then apply. This way, it would be easier to pass.
If he could stand out among all the students of Seidoukan Academy and rank among the best, the academy would only hope that Ark could obtain Orga Lux so he could improve his strength as quickly as possible, participate in Festa, and achieve good results for the academy.
Unfortunately, that would take a lot of effort and time, and Ark himself couldn't wait.
So he decided to attract Claudia's attention.
"If I get help from this student council president, the likelihood of my application being approved will increase significantly, right?"
Claudia wasn't just the student council president; her parents were also executives of an integrated corporate consortium, and their status in the academy was very high.
At the very least, the school wouldn't ignore her opinion.
After all, the builder and investor behind Seidoukan Academy was one of the six largest integrated corporate conglomerates today—Galaxy.
The ownership of Orga Lux at Seidoukan Academy also belonged to Galaxy.
As long as Claudia could help, Ark's application would definitely be approved.
And given the complicated feelings the student council president had toward the Seidoukan in her hands, as long as Ark showed a slight influence on the Orga Lux in her hands, she would most likely be interested in him.
This way, the possibility of the other party helping him pass the application to use Orga Lux would naturally arise.
Of course, that was just a possibility.
It was only based on his understanding of the original work that Ark knew how unconventional the student council president's ideas were, so he decided to give it a try.
As for whether it would work and whether things would develop like that, Ark wasn't sure at all.
"I just don't know if the Orga Lux in her hands will react to me."
Ark couldn't be sure of this.
"After all, my Authority is praised as the supreme Authority over weapons. A self-aware weapon like Orga Lux shouldn't remain indifferent after I actively stimulate a certain power, right?"
Ark could only leave the gymnasium with such hopes.
What needed to be done had been done; the rest was up to fate.

In the following days, Ark integrated into the campus life of Seidoukan Academy as an ordinary student.
When he had to attend classes, he would be there on time. When he didn't need to attend classes, he would find a wide, empty place to practice swordsmanship. In his spare time, he would also do some physical training.
It must be said that Ark was very pleased with his current body. He felt young, energetic, and strong. This condition had cured his laziness, and he often felt the urge to move his body.
He didn't have many friends at Seidoukan Academy. Although he knew that many extraordinary characters from the original work were there, he didn't intend to deliberately befriend them. He only occasionally wanted to meet these real-life people in person, but other than that, he was quite calm.
However, Ark still paid attention to some news on the internet, and also kept an eye on Seidoukan Academy's official website, where he saw many familiar names, photos, and videos of these people dueling.
It should be mentioned that the technology in this world also fascinated Ark greatly. Personal phones were like laser pens, extremely small. As long as he carried it, he could operate it with preset actions without taking it out, like opening a panel in a game. He could open a projected virtual window with a wave of his hand, search for information in it, and even make video calls with others. It was very advanced.
"Is this also Mana application technology brought by the Falling Star Rain?"
Ark was often amazed by this.
And so, a few days later, Ark finally received good news from Claudia.
"Ark-kun's application has been approved."
That day, Claudia came to Ark's class, ignoring the commotion around them, holding a stack of documents and smiling at him.
"Complete the formalities first, then follow me to the Equipment Bureau."
