CHAPTER 68: SURVIVE IX
Throughout the battle, Arianne wasn’t herself.
It felt like something else occupied her body.
It wasn’t until she heard Arlo was about to wake up that she regained control of herself.
When she saw Arlo raise his hand to touch her, she wanted to shift away.
However, when she heard Arlo say, “How beautiful!”, her mind was blown away.
A soft burst of air escaped her massive mouth, and she couldn’t help but want time to stop at this moment.
As a little girl, she didn’t know why she felt this way, but she wanted it to last longer.
*Whoosh*
She was pulled out of her train of thought when she felt something approach quickly behind her.
Not even thinking about it, she quickly hugged Arlo.
*Boom*
Her body was sent flying once more.
As the wall of the shop quickly approached, she turned around to receive the impact.
*Bang*
The wall cracked, and it almost came crumbling down.
Her arms opened slightly to reveal an unharmed Arlo.
Arlo rose shakily on his feet.
Looking up, he saw what had attacked them.
Arianne felt displeasure welling up within her. She was enjoying the moment then it was ruined.
With anger replacing the displeasure she felt, she raised her head toward the enemy and let out a terrifying….
“ROOOOOOOOAR!”
With a three-meter-tall monster roaring behind him, Arlo tightened his fists as he watched his new enemy coldly.
A three-headed dog was before him, its body constantly releasing waves of evil energy.
‘This aura, it seems familiar.’
He was pulled out of his thought when several tens of lesser demons appeared once again.
When the terrifying roar stopped, he spoke, “Let’s finish this once and for all!”
The last thing Old Bro said flashed briefly within his head, “Prove to me you deserve the truth.”
“Leave the lesser demons to me.” Anita said before she bobbed forward, her cute voice echoing once again, “Water domain!”
She had already devoured tens of lesser demons, so she had a lot of energy.
She had even shared some with Arlo when he woke up.
Water filled the ground ten meters around.
Arlo didn’t respond to her and instead turned around, “Let us go!”
What he received in reply was a burst of thick breath.
Willing all his Ki into his legs, he vanished.
His body turned into a blur as splashing sounds quickly echoed simultaneously.
Almost at the same time he moved, Arianne also disappeared, with fluttering sounds echoing around with her every movement.
Her feet didn’t touch the water, as she floated at a speed even faster than Arlo.
She approached directly from the front, while Arlo moved in an arc, approaching from the side.
The now demonized three-headed bloodhound released crazy snarls.
The lesser demons were all being destroyed by the sea monsters, and before they could regenerate, Anita’s cute voice would have arrived.
“Universal devouring!”
As Arlo wove around the slow-moving lesser demons because of his high speed, he couldn’t help but let out a light breath as he felt the energy constantly being relayed to him by Anita.
Arianne reached first.
Jumping up, her two massive claws smashed the two heads at the sides, sending the bloodhound to the ground.
*Bang* The water in the area was temporarily shifted aside from the impact.
Painful snarls left the two heads' mouths as they were held down.
The middle head moved to attack but before it could, Arlo finally arrived.
He moved around the duo, and with his fast movement, he grabbed the snake head of the waving tail of the bloodhound.
Together with his high speed, he instantly moved the Ki from his legs to his hands before throwing with every power he could muster.
The middle head bit air, as his massive body was pulled from behind before being sent flying.
While still in mid-air, Arianne rushed toward it again, floating above Arlo on her path.
The bloodhound flew for almost twenty meters before its body connected with a wall.
Upon impact, A huge shadow was cast over it, before two fangs bit into the neck of the middle head.
Its other two heads were held in place by two massive hands.
A painful snarl escaped its middle head as it felt its blood quickly escaping its body.
It raised its right front paw trying to claw at Arianne in order to break free.
However, another shadow appeared at its side, one much smaller. With two orbs spinning in his hands, he smashed his right hand forward.
*Bang*
The bloodhound’s front right paw was blasted into a bloody mist.
*Snarl* Another wave of painful snarl leaked from its head.
His left front paw instinctively smashed forward as it snarled in pain.
Again, with a masterful shift of his Ki-concentrated legs, Arlo’s body twirled around Arianne’s tall figure, his left hand now smashing toward the incoming paw.
With another *Bang*, the left paw also turned into a bloody mist.
The synergy between the two was simply beautiful.
Arlo could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins.
The bloodhound’s legs were on the ground, and because Arianne was hugging it tightly, it couldn’t attack with them.
So it went for its last resort.
Its two-meter-long tail moved from behind it, before attacking Arianne from above.
Arlo’s pupils turned into slits.
He couldn’t react in time, and since Arianne was holding the monster in place, she couldn’t too.
If the tail connected with her head, it would definitely explode.
As if she could feel the approaching death, Arianne shook her head and tried to rip the middle head off.
Alas, it seemed she wouldn’t make it.
It was at this time that a new voice suddenly echoed.
“Size manipulation.”
