CHAPTER 42: HUMILIATED
"Night walk."
Bon turned into a swarm of bats, which flashed before Arlo nearly instantly.
Arlo hurriedly threw a right punch in panic.
Bon turned into a swarm of bats again, divided into two groups, and swooshed beside Arlo, before they joined again and formed Bon behind him.
However, Arlo wasn't one to lose easily.
Concentrating 50% Ki each on a leg and left elbow, his body spun around, with his left elbow sent in a sweep.
Bon ducked leisurely, evaded the attack, and sent an uppercut.
Seeing that his attack failed, Arlo's eyes flashed with madness and he quickly sent his right elbow down to attack Bon's left shoulder.
If Bon continued with his attack, he also wouldn't come out unscathed.
However, who was Bon?
He was a vampire, an apex predator.
This tactic of injury for injury may have worked on others, but against a vampire, it was useless.
Sure enough, Bon's uppercut was the first to reach, as it connected with Arlo's lower jaw.
Before Arlo was sent flying, his right elbow also landed, however, it merely passed through Bon's shoulder which had turned into a swarm of small bats.
*Baang!*
Arlo was flung into the air, drawing a perfect arc.
While in mid-air, Bon flashed atop him and prepared to attack.
In his predicament, Arlo twisted his body to dodge.
However…
*ROOAR!*
Bon let out a deep feral roar, his face twisted into the most savage of expressions, and his long fangs flashing crimson red.
A wave of spiritual energy was sent out with his roar.
Arlo, who was in the process of twisting in mid-air, froze, and his eyes turned listless.
Bon's kick landed squarely on his chest, sending him hurtling down.
*Boom!*
Spider-web cracks spread on the floor.
Bon landed on Arlo and sent out several punches.
Arlo on the other hand didn't block as his eyes remained listless without any focus.
After several rounds of punches, Arlo's golden hair was dyed in blood, his nose was broken and his face was all bloodied.
It was a disconcerting sight, for a seven-year-old child to be handled in such a way.
Simply put, it was inhuman!
"Oh!" he exclaimed.
'This guy can also heal? Just who the hell are you?' Bon thought to himself as he observed Arlo's wounds that were slowly but surely closing up.
Even though his speed of recovery couldn't hold a candle to a vampire's regeneration, it was still out of the league for an average human.
The dark aura covering his body suddenly congregated on his right hand and materialized into a black dagger.
*Spurt!*
He plunged it into Arlo's left shoulder and pulled down.
…..
Arlo was just about to dodge in mid-air when he found himself thrown into a world of darkness.
No matter how he tried, he couldn't escape this place.
*Whoosh.*
A small light suddenly lit up in this world of darkness.
He moved closer to this light but found to his dismay that he couldn't close the distance between them.
He didn't know why he felt like if he didn't get hold of this light, he would regret it. It was a feeling he couldn't quite wrap his head around.
He was reflecting deeply on what to do when…
A wave of pain hit him so hard that he screamed out from his stupor.
The pain was simply excruciating.
Two cold eyes glowing red entered his vision.
"GET OFF!" he roared out and sent out a full-powered right punch.
*Swoosh!*
Bon vanished, the attack hitting the air.
"Ah!" Arlo groaned in pain and supported himself to his knees.
Shifting his eyes to his left shoulder, he saw a dagger plunged into it, with a dark aura oozing out of it.
He figured it was this aura that was responsible for the pain he was feeling.
His body twitched continuously, and his painful groans filled the room.
*Tap, tap, tap…*
Sounds of footsteps approached him.
"You can't even bear this little pain?" A voice filled with disdain entered his ears.
Two legs stopped in front of him.
One of the legs landed on his head planting his head on the floor.
"This should teach you to know your place. Next time, there won't be a next time!" Bon threatened, his eyes flashing red.
Arlo's body trembled greatly.
Bon thought this was a result of fear, however, he was soon proven wrong as…
*PA!*
Arlo's wounded left hand gripped the leg that was planted on him so tightly that the sounds of bones breaking resounded in the room.
