FAMILY ABOVE ALL: BATTLING AGAINST GODS

CHAPTER 40: FURY

In the pitch-black darkness of his consciousness, the only thing Arlo could do was hear the fast beating of his heart.

Ba-Dum, Ba-Dum...

His heartbeat became faster every second.

Ba-Du-Dum, Ba-Du-Dum...

The frequency got so fast that it was challenging to keep up with it.

After a short while, it sped to the point that there was no space between each beat.

Du-Du-Du-Du-Du-Du-Du-Du...

*Gasp!* Arlo gasped awake as he panted heavily to catch his breath.

Looking around, he found himself in a room filled with light.

He almost thought everything that happened from his entry into this world was nothing but a dream when...

*Gulp-gulp!* Gulping sounds pulled him out of his thoughts.

He fixed his eyes on the extra large bed in front of him.

Joe's back was resting on the headboard while a dark-haired girl of about 13 years old had her head resting on his neck as she made gulping sounds.

A similarly dark-haired boy of about ten years old had his head pressed on Joe's left wrist and a crunching sound echoed with each slight movement of his head.

Blood flowed like rivers down Joe's neck and wrist, and Joe himself seemed to be unconscious.

Arlo sat there stunned for a while as he continued to watch all this unfold before him.

"What are you doing?" Arlo finally muttered.

*Gulp!*

*Crunch!*

What answered him were sounds of gulping, crunching, and moaning.

"What are you doing?" Arlo roared as he leaped up to his feet and launched at the bed.

However...

A figure flashed in front of him and sent out a slap.

*PAAAAA!*

Arlo was sent flying like a ragdoll, his body breaking several obstacles before he smashed into the wall.

Arlo's body slid down the wall.

A trickle of blood fell down the side of his forehead and a scorching red handprint appeared on his face.

"A mere dog questioning his master." Arlo didn't even hear the boy's words and simply blanked out.

When had he ever been treated like this?

When had he ever been humiliated in such a manner?

Looking at the young face in front of him, short curly dark hair, pale face, pitch-black eyes with an air of arrogance surrounding him, a feeling of intense rage welled up in him.

He could immediately tell that the boy was Tibu's son, as the two had some resemblance.

He looked past the boy a few meters before him and saw that the girl was still feeding on Joe, and she didn't even bother to divert her attention toward him.

He pressed down the rage he was feeling and spoke in a hoarse voice:

"Let him go!"

A look of disdain appeared on the young boy's face.

"Heh! A mere dog dares to order me? Seems I need to tighten the leash around your neck. I can't have you bark at your master now, can I?"

The young boy approached Arlo, with a look of contempt on his face.

Arlo lowered his head and his shoulder-length golden hair fell over his face, hiding it from view.

"You won't let him go?" he asked in a low voice.

"Why would I?"

The young boy arrived in front of Arlo and bent down to grab his neck.

It was at this moment that...

Arlo let go!

His fury exploded like an erupting volcano!

He didn't have any good impression of this race. In fact, if not for Scarlett he would have already detested them.

Vlad ignored his plea and didn't put him in his eyes.

In their first encounter, Tibu immediately tried to make him kneel.

The old maid dragged him away like some trash.

And now?

He was slapped like a rag-doll and repeatedly called a dog.

All the anger he had been bottling up...

All the rage he had been pressing down...

They were all let loose.

*Swish.*

Arlo instantly concentrated 80% Ki in his right leg, and like a deadly whip, he swept it out.

"Humph!" The young boy snorted in disdain.

Before the sweep could reach his left leg, he instantly blinked from his grabbing position to an upright one, before he jumped into the air, barely avoiding Arlo's attack.

A contemptuous smile was plastered on his face.

However...

While still in mid-air, he saw Arlo's right foot come to a sudden stop and placed firmly on the ground before his body spun, his left leg shooting towards his head in a round kick.

Even though he was surprised, he could still react and even counter.

But.

The left leg thrown in a round kick suddenly flashed beside his head almost as if it had teleported.

His eyes were just about to pop out of their sockets when...

*Bang!*

A muffled sound echoed out.

Instead of being sent flying, the young boy's body spun half a circle in mid-air, with his legs facing up and his head down.

'What exquisite control!' This thought appeared in his mind for a second before Arlo's red eyes flashed within his vision.

While his body was still in mid-air, he saw Arlo raise both of his hands with both palms stretched outward, his right hand pointing upward and his left downward. Both hands were covered in some whitish smoke and he pressed them on his body and turned them in opposite directions.

His body, which was just spun half a circle continuously spun in the opposite direction like a turning wheel as he was sent flying.

*Boom!*

His body smashed into the wall on the other side of the room near the bed creating a human-shaped hole.

*Swish.*

The eyes that were closed all this while, with total disregard to her surroundings suddenly flashed open, with a menacing scarlet glow released from them.
