Chapter 35: NCR Correctional Facility

With a series of notifications, Six smirked as the system chimed in once again, marking his achievements:

Ding!

[Quest: Ghost Town Gunfight. Complete]

[Objective: Successfully repel the Powder Ganger attack]

[Reward: Rare Silver-Tier Item Mad Bomber Perk]

Mad Bomber Perk:

This perk allows for the crafting of all Grenades, Mines, and Bombs.

Ding!

[Level Up!]

Once again, he leveled up, reaching level 14. This time, he boosted MEDICINE to 100, further enhancing his medical proficiency, and placing the seven leftover points into BARTER. For his perk, he selected: Jury Rigging: Making able to repair any item using a roughly similar item. A vital skill for keeping his gear in top shape.

Ding!

[MEDICINE has been maxed!]

[Perk gained: Dr House]

House perk grants unconventional treatments with rapid and accurate diagnoses after seemingly not paying attention. This skill is demonstrated as you can diagnose an entire waiting room full of patients in a little over one minute on your way out of the hospital clinic. You've become the Sherlock Holmes of medicine.

Six's grin widened as he absorbed the new abilities.

"I can already tell this is going to be fun."

He muttered under his breath, while Rebecca raised an eyebrow, noticing his growing confidence.

"What's next, genius? You going to diagnose people with just a glance now?"

She teased, though she knew her husband always had some uncanny abilities up his sleeve.

"Something like that."

He replied with a wink, mentally noting how the Dr. House perk would be an invaluable asset. Not only could he patch up his team faster than ever, but now he could diagnose complex conditions in the middle of combat or while on the move.

Rebecca grinned back at him.

"Looks like we just keep getting stronger, don't we?"

Sunny Smiles approached the pair, having overheard part of their conversation.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but whatever it was, it sounds like it'll come in handy."

Six chuckled.

"Let's just say if anyone needs patching up, I can get it done quicker than ever. And if we happen to run out of explosives... well, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve now."

The Mad Bomber perk was something he knew he'd have fun with. The ability to craft a wide variety of grenades, mines, and bombs would give him a tactical edge in future skirmishes. Whether it was an ambush or full-on warfare, Six now had another tool to make sure he stayed ahead.

As the dust settled in Goodsprings, the group prepared for their next move. The road to Primm was still ahead of them, and although they had easily handled the Powder Gangers, Six knew tougher challenges were coming. With his newly acquired perks and level-ups, he felt ready to take on whatever the Mojave could throw at him.

"Alright, everyone."

Six said, standing up and stretching, his 50-caliber Desert Eagle still hanging loosely at his side.

"Let's head out. Primm isn't going to wait for us."

Rebecca grinned, slinging her own rifle over her shoulder.

"Lead the way, Big guy."

Boone, always the silent one, gave a nod and moved into position. Raul hopped into the driver's seat of the Battle Bus, and ED-E floated by, ready as ever.

The Platinum Chip itself wasn't the real concern for Six; he had already handed it over to his father, Viktor. Using his engineering expertise, Viktor had begun reprogramming the chip, tweaking it in ways that would give them full control over the Securitrons Mr. House had under his command. This was going to give them a significant advantage in the power struggle for New Vegas.

Now, with the Courier out of the picture, the storyline was going to deviate significantly from its original course. Six glanced over at his traveling companions: Rebecca, Boone, ED-E, and Raul.

They were a formidable group, especially with Raul behind the wheel of the heavily fortified Battle Bus, which was armed with turrets and brimming with advanced tech thanks to Six's modifications.

As the Battle Bus roared to life, they set out on the long journey to New Vegas. Their first stop was Primm, a small, run-down town that was on the way. Six knew that Primm held a few items of interest, and Boone had mentioned wanting to check out the area for any NCR activity that could be useful to them.

Rebecca, seated next to Six, adjusted her gear, glancing out the window as the desert passed by in a blur.

"Primm's not far. We should reach it before nightfall,"

She said, her eyes sharp as ever, always ready for whatever the wasteland might throw their way.

Boone, sitting in the back with his rifle in hand, remained silent, his mind likely focused on the mission ahead. ED-E, their trusty eyebot companion, floated nearby, humming with the occasional electronic chirp. Raul, in the driver's seat, cracked a joke about hoping they didn't run into any Deathclaws along the way, though everyone knew he wasn't entirely joking.

As they neared Primm, Six felt the weight of the coming events. The Courier had been a crucial part of the Mojave's future, but now, with him removed from the equation, the power dynamics of New Vegas and the entire Mojave Wasteland would shift in unpredictable ways.

He would have to navigate these new challenges carefully, balancing his own ambitions with the growing threats from the NCR, Caesar's Legion, and Mr. House.

But for now, they would focus on Primm. The town may have been small and desolate, but it could still provide valuable resources, information, and perhaps another piece of the puzzle Six needed to ensure his dominance over the Mojave.

As they left Goodsprings behind, Six felt a familiar thrill—adventure, danger, and couldn't help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction as many opportunities lay ahead.

And this time, it was going to be on his terms as he reshaped the course of events, and was gathering power faster than ever. With Rebecca by his side and his companions at the ready, he was more than prepared to keep up his momentum in the Mojave Wasteland.

Passing Jean Sky Diving Shack and heading to Primm the Battle Bus rocks back and forth as dynamite detenates near it.

"Boss, we got some Powder Gangers attacking us by the side do you want to deal with them."

Said Raul as he was driving.

"Yeah take them out then will unboard and deal with the Powder Gangers in the area."

Said Six as Raul operated the bus turrets gunning down the gangers.

Unboarding the bus they scouted the area finding two small airplanes in the airstrip and a third one not far away where there's a small Powder Ganger camp.

Signaling Boone to come over, he asks him about how many Powder Gangers he spotted camp nearby as Boone prepped his bolt action rifle.

"Observing I only spot 8 Powder Gangers. Five of them are sitting and chatting around, one of them is cooking on the bonfire, and the other two are standing on guard with a rifle."

"OK then, will attack by the sides as you target the ones with the rifles first Boone."

As the team flanked them, Boone aimed directly at ones with rifles and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

As soon as Boone's shot echoed through the air, chaos erupted in the Powder Ganger camp. The remaining gangers, still in shock, scrambled for their weapons, but it was too late. Six, Rebecca, and Raul had already flanked them, moving in with precision.

Six led the charge, wielding his .50-caliber Desert Eagle with ease. He fired a single shot at one of the gangers who tried to stand up from his seat by the bonfire. The impact sent him flying back, dead before he hit the ground.

Rebecca, grinning as usual, took position next to a large boulder, her own rifle aimed at another ganger who was fumbling to load his weapon. She squeezed the trigger and dropped him in one clean shot.

Raul, always calm under pressure, worked the bus's turrets earlier but now moved on foot with his trusty revolver. He approached the camp from the opposite side, staying low and silent until he was close enough. As one of the guards turned to run, Raul shot him twice in the back, dropping him instantly.

Boone, positioned on a nearby hill, took out the second guard. His bolt-action rifle was as deadly as ever, delivering another clean headshot before the ganger could even raise his rifle.

In a matter of seconds, five of the eight Powder Gangers were already down, their bodies slumped over the bonfire or scattered across the camp. The last three finally realized what was happening, but panic overtook them. One tried to make a run for it toward the airstrip, while the other two grabbed dynamite, clearly hoping for a desperate counterattack.

Six noticed the dynamite and quickly called out to Rebecca.

"Heads up, dynamite incoming!"

One of the gangers lit the fuse and prepared to throw the explosive, but before he could launch it, Rebecca shot him clean through the chest, causing him to collapse. The dynamite fell from his hands, the lit fuse sparking dangerously close to him.

Six rushed forward, closing the gap between him and the second ganger holding dynamite. With quick reflexes, he shot the stick right out of the man's hand, sending it flying before it could explode. The ganger, now disarmed and terrified, tried to surrender, but Six wasn't in the mood for mercy. A single shot from his Desert Eagle ended him.

Meanwhile, Boone spotted the last Powder Ganger who was running toward the airstrip, trying to escape into one of the old planes. Boone calmly lined up his shot, taking a deep breath before firing. The bullet pierced through the ganger's back, dropping him mere feet away from the plane's door.

The entire fight was over in less than two minutes. The gangers didn't stand a chance against the well-coordinated assault from Six and his crew.

"Well, that was easy, boss."

Raul muttered, holstering his revolver as he walked into the camp to inspect the bodies.

Rebecca chuckled, stepping over one of the corpses.

"They weren't exactly smart. I told you this would be a cakewalk."

Six nodded, holstering his Desert Eagle and surveying the area.

"Let's check out the planes. Might be something useful we can salvage."

They moved toward the two small airplanes near the airstrip. Most of the aircraft looked like they'd been scavenged for parts, but one of them still seemed somewhat intact. The third one, the farthest from the camp, looked like it had been used as a makeshift storage facility by the gangers. Boxes and crates were piled around it, some of which seemed to contain explosives and other valuable supplies.

Raul popped open one of the crates, revealing a stash of dynamite and frag mines.

"Looks like we've got ourselves some goodies."

Six grinned.

"Perfect. Load it up. We can always use more explosives."

As they gathered the loot, Six took one last glance at the camp. The Powder Gangers were no longer a threat in this area, but the road to New Vegas was still long, and he knew there would be more challenges ahead. With Boone's sharp eyes, Rebecca's deadly aim, and Raul's experience, though, he felt more than ready for whatever came next.

"Alright, team."

Six said, loading the last crate into the Battle Bus.

"Looks like the powder Gangers are going to cause trouble for the caravaners coming to Goodsprings. So we're going to wipe them out. Let's head out. NCR Correctional Facility is waiting for us."

With their supplies restocked and their enemies defeated, the group boarded the Battle Bus once again, ready to continue their journey to NCR Correctional Facility to wipe out the Powder Gangers. The Mojave Wasteland was full of danger, but with each step, Six was proving that he wasn't just surviving—he was thriving.
