[Hidden Quest: It's A Trap! Complete]

[Objective: Successfully counter Lrry's ambush near Eastwood]

[Reward: Rare Silver-Tier Item C.AM.P.]

C.A.M.P.:

C.A.M.P.s are portable Gamer homes that can be deployed nearly anywhere. Once placed, the Gamer will have a personal workshop area at which they may build and decorate with workshop objects. It is possible to create blueprints of existing structures in a C.A.M.P., in order to easily place the same building again after moving a C.A.M.P. to a new location.

Ding!

[Level Up!]

Upon accessing the skill screen, Six was now level 7, he decided to continue enhancing his REPAIR skill to 98 and proceeding to Perks. He chose Toughness: Increasing his Damage Threshold by +3 permanently.

Upon confirming his choice, time restarts, and Six staggers as a deluge of information floods his mind, introducing him to aspects of the C.A.M.P. system he had never known, now vivid in his thoughts.

He instantly grasps how to design a C.A.M.P. layout, to erect and oversee their own encampment across various locations in the Mojave. The workshop interface facilitates the placement and linkage of pre-fabricated units and individual components, the dismantling, or the crafting of new items from salvaged materials.

These items can be assembled to form bustling camps complete with turrets, barriers, traders, and leisure areas, all of which are drilled into his head with excruciating detail, adding a third layer to his construction and destruction capabilities.

Rebecca perceives the abrupt change in Six's demeanor, reminiscent of his odd conduct a few days prior, as he falters, clutching his head.

"You alright, Six?"

She inquires, aiding him to regain his balance.

Six clenches his jaw and manages a nod.

"Yeah... Just a migraine... Just... Give me a moment, 'Becca."

He mutters, leaning on her Power Armor, massaging his temples as the knowledge etches itself into his brain. It seems an overload of creative skills is overwhelming for his mind.

As the influx of information began to decrease, he felt an odd sensation in his skin. It's was not painful, but it felt as though his skin was being compacted, and squeezed before being elongated once more, growing increasingly dense as moments pass.

The ordeal lasted only a minute or so before ceasing. Undoubtedly, his new Perk Toughness was to thank. He took a deep breath, gathered himself, stood up, and faced his concerned girlfriend.

"I'm fine... It's just been some time since I've had a migraine that severe."

He attempted to dismiss it.

"Okay, Big Guy."

She nodded slowly, her gaze filled with suspicion and concern.

Scar eyed Ben suspiciously.

"Were you part of this?"

"No."

His response was swift.

"Not that I'm aware of. It's supposed to be just another suicide mission, nothing else."

"Why did you save him?"

"I owed him one."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Now you owe me."

"Fine, okay. I mean... we can't just fix this—"

"No, we can! Let's find Larry and take him out!"

"Sure, we could do that. But I'm talking about a permanent solution, ending it all."

"Right, Chooms. We zeroed the main gonk!"

Rebecca declared, pulling out Scarlett's bounty note.

"Unless someone takes down that guy in a truly sorrowful manner."

Ben stated, leaving Twig utterly perplexed.

"How can you say that? We saved Scar!"

"That's not how I remember it."

Scarlett let out a disbelieving sniff.

-Past scene-

Scar carried Ben through a cave amid a barrage of gunfire. She removed a grenade from his vest and hurled it behind them. Then, gripping a tearful Twig by the collar, she thrust him toward the cave's entrance. Twig and the others fell silent.

"Nova!"

"So, what do we do?"

Ben inquired.

"I just want this to end."

Scar declared, with Twig signaling his agreement.

"Alright then. If we're going to die, let's do it with flair. Let's take her back to Eastwood."

Ben decided, heading back. Scar followed after a moment's hesitation, with Twig and the rest trailing behind. They traversed the wasteland as the sun dipped below the horizon, passing a Lucky 38 billboard on a hill.

Six sighed and rested his forehead in his hands. Despite having time alone to clear his mind, it remained cluttered, as if barbed wire entangled each thought and memory, jabbing him whenever he considered his Settlement, Vault, or C.A.M.P. workshop creator.

He ceased reviewing them to avoid a migraine. Instead, he contemplated the storyline of Nuka Break. They would soon rest, and the next day, they would meet the NCR Veteran Ranger, and Eastwood would face destruction. Following these events, he planned to alter the storyline entirely. With the entire population of Eastwood relocating to Goodsprings, he would achieve his goal of expanding his settlement.

"...I mean, I've noticed he's a bit touchy-feely, but it doesn't bother me."

Scar remarked.

"We need to stop."

Ben interjected.

"What? Why, choom?"

Rebecca asked, visibly annoyed.

"Because it's getting dark."

Ben explained.

"So?"

she challenged.

"I don't travel at night; I can't see. You know that."

Ben responded.

"Okay, I'm actually tired. Let's stop."

Twig conceded. Scarlett gestured towards Eastwood.

"It's right there!"

She protested, but fatigue was evident in everyone.

"Fine, we'll rest for the night."

She finally agreed.

To their astonishment, Six had constructed a spacious, fully furnished shack with several turrets around it for their rest. As expected, the super soldier and chibi mated like rabbits throughout the night, disturbing the group's sleep.

Come morning, Twig and Scarlett remained asleep, and the lovers were covered on each other's love juices. Meanwhile, Ben was up early, kneeling beside a rock, contemplating the ring that hung from a chain around his neck.

-Elsewhere-

Two mercs were carrying Larry off into a cave, where Leon is waiting for him. As they enter, they drop the ghoul, who lay sprawling on the ground.

"Sir, we found him in the desert."

Larry writhes, exhausted and Leon approaches him from the shadows, surprised at their discovery.

"Oh, shit."

Larry mumbled in fear.

"Hi, Larry."

Leon greets him and Larry spits to the side.

"My wayward little spy."

"Tsks, I suppose you didn't capture Scarlett like you intended."

"No, Leon. I obviously did not."

"Mmh. Well, that's a shame... Larry, you know what I do to people that disappoint me, right?"

Larry nodded.

"Mmm-hmm."

"So, can you think of one good reason why I shouldn't do that to you, right now"

"A second, one second, one second. Ahh... I know where they are."

"Really?"

"Now you have to give me a second chance, 'cause I could bring her to you."

"Well, where are they?

"South of here. I set up an ambush for her and her friends, but..."

"Right. Yeah, and then you've screwed it all and I've... Well, I'm not surprised... Hmm... Larry... Think you're gonna be coming back?"

"Probably. I doubt that I won't be going very much farther without a... snack.

"So, then my Scarlett is in-in the town right now."

"She wasn't when I left."

"Thanks, Larry."

Larry nods in affirmation, and Leon begins calling someone.

"Daniels?"

Daniels approaches.

"Bring me Artemis, please.

"Sir, isn't that a bit too much?"

Leon gives a look, and Daniels complies, gesturing two slave girls to retrieve something for him. Leon is satisfied, giving Larry a pat on the back.

-Back to Twig and company-

Twig seems to be having a problem as they walked. As they continue walking, on the side of a small cliff, Scar notices something.

"Hey, umm... I think we're being followed."

She says.

"Yeah, I know."

Said Six.

"What ya' mean, ya' know, Big Guy?"

"I mean, I know, 'Becca."

"And what are we gonna do about it, Big Guy?"

"Nothing."

"If he's gonna reveal himself, be on his terms, not ours."

"No, no, not this time."

Twig takes 'That Gun' out.

"HEY! WHERE ARE YOU?

"C'MON! OKAY, COME OUT!"

He then starts shooting randomly in the air.

"Could you stop?"

Ben shouts at Twing

"Well?"

A glare starts shining on Twig's face. Someone from up the cliff is shining something and Twig starts shooting in that direction.

"St-Stop that!"

The person stops up the cliff. He looks to be wearing a peculiar helmet. Twig drops his gun and everybody looks at him. Soon the person approaches them.

"Just wait up here, let me take care of this. Just..."

Ben says.

"What're you--"

Twig exclaims.

"Just... hold on."

Ben walks up to the man. Upon clearer inspection, he appears to be an NCR Veteran Ranger. He clicks a button on the helmet to retract some sort of visor.

You know, I'm impressed. You wait for all of these assholes to whittle us dry so you could just walk in and take her.

Ben continues.

"Well, you're not gonna get her."

"I'm not here for her."

NCR Veteran Ranger says.

"What else could you be doing out here?"

"Protecting you."
