Fallen Moon

Chapter 45: Death Repellent

Claire rushed back to the Nightshade campsite. The moment she arrived. The entire pack's gaze shifted over to her. By now, they must have known about Raven's escape. If she was lucky, they wouldn't know the part she played in helping her sister escape. She took a step forward. The second she did, Alexis rose to her feet. Claire gasped. Surely, Alexis wasn't going to be the one to approach her. Jay grabbed Alexis' arm. Claire let out a sigh of relief. It's Jay, she can handle Jay.

"Please go easy on her," Jay spoke. Claire's jaw dropped. Alexis jerked her arm free and walked toward her. Her lips formed a devilish grin. She was cracking her knuckles while she walked.

"Look, I've done nothing wrong." Claire glared at her.

"Oh really," Alexis crossed her arms. "Well," She tilted her hip slightly. "As far as I can tell that's yet to be determined. But very soon it will be." She grabbed Claire by the arm. Squeezing tightly. "Let's go, Leader Lycan is waiting." She began dragging Claire by the arm.

"I can walk there myself. Stop yanking my arm." Claire tried to pull herself free but Alexis' grip was too tight. "You're hurting me." She shouted, Alexis turned to her.

"I know," Alexis' lips formed a wicked smirk. "That's kind of the point." She pulled on Claire's arm forcing her up the steps and to the front of Lycan's cabin door. She kicked Claire in the butt forcing her to bust through the door and fall flat on her face. "She's all yours Leader Lycan," She grabbed the door knob and slammed the door shut. The noise echoed loud in Claire's ears.

"Ou." Claire rubbed her ear trying to get rid of the loud ringing. "Did she have to be so rough?" She rose to her feet. Once she did she saw Lycan sitting in a chair across from her. His lip was busted, he had bruises all over his body, a bandage on his nose, a white bandage on his shoulder that was stained in blood. Angel really did a number on him. On top of that, didn't Angel say he broke his spine? Of course all of these damages would heal over time right? Werewolves are known for their high healing factors so surely this wouldn't take too long for him to heal, Right? Regardless, She needs to act surprised. She's not supposed to know Angel attacked him.

"Leader Lycan," Claire gasped. "What happened?" She rushed over to his side. "You look awful. Um, just give me a sec, I'll see if I can Alexis to get me some supplies from town. As your medic I will see to it that you're back on your feet. I promise, I will also find out who did this and I will start planning an ambush as soon as we find this fucker. This will not go unpunished."

"Indeed it won't," Lycan spoke. "It appears your sister has escaped. Tell me, Claire," He paused. "Did you have anything to do with this? I was informed by Alexis that you left the campsite and disobeyed my direct orders to stay put. I find it hard to believe that it's a mere coincidence that you left our camp and soon after," He smirked. "We receive information that your sister has escaped from her confinement."

"Hold up, you think I helped her escape." Claire busted out laughing. "Leader Lycan, I'm your medic, you honestly think. Me, a medic, could break into Lord Grimm's castle by myself. Knowing it'd be swarming with guards. I would never do that, I couldn't pull that off even if I tried. A half breed breaking into a castle of armed werewolves. That'd be impossible. It's absurd to even think about it, look at me." She gestured. "I'm not a fighter. That's more my sister's thing. I'm telling you I had nothing to do with her escaping. I mean, I love my sister and I don't agree with her choices but rescuing her. That's way above my rank, I couldn't do it, I'd be dead if I tried." She shrugged.

"Yes, you would be dead." Lycan agreed. "That much is a fact, but it's as you said. " He stared into eyes as he spoke. "You're not a fighter." His lips formed a slight smirk. "You're a thinker, you find ways around fighting. Because of this," Claire's looking him right into his eyes. She's not showing any signs of lying even though she is. So how is Lycan-. Perhaps, he's a lot smarter than she gave him credit for. Her mistake, leave it to her to underestimate the Werewolf Prince. "Now, I don't think it's irrational of me to think that you took advantage of what was going on. You saw it as a means to hide yourself and break into the castle undetected. That much, I can see you pulling off, you're smart Claire. But so am I, which is why." He glared into her eyes. "You can't fool me so easily." He grinned.

"Leader Lycan," Claire took a step back. He's onto her, he knows. "I'm telling you I had nothing to do with-," She tried back up toward the door and escape. Before she even reached the door, she bumped into a wall of a wolf. Alejandro placed his large hand on her shoulder, his grip startling her. She started to turn around but before she could. He pressed down making her drop to her knees. His hand pushed down on her head making her face look toward the wooden floor of Lycan's cabin.

"Leader Lycan, I swear to you, I had nothing to do with my sister escaping." Lycan moved his head toward Alejandro. He grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled, making her look Lycan in the eyes. "Leader Lycan, I'm the medic, you're hurt, you need me, now let me go. I didn't help my sister escape." Alejandro slammed her face into the floor and lifted her head back up. "Al, you bastard, how dare you. I'm so telling Jay that you hurt me. Your son is going to hate you for-," He slammed her face into the floor. "Damn it, Al, can I finish my fucking sentence?" He slammed her face into the floor again. This time it was hard enough to make her nose bleed. He pulled at her hair to urge her to talk to Lycan.

"So this is the type of shit you put my sister through?" Claire glared at Lycan. "Some Prince you turned out to be. Definitely no prince charming." Alejandro went to slam her face into the floor once more. Her face was only an inch from the floor before she spoke."Okay, okay, wait, wait, you're right I was going to rescue her." Alejandro lifted head up and made her look Lycan in the eyes. "You're right I did try to rescue her. But someone beat me to it," Lycan held up his hand. He's regained the use of his arms already. He's healing a lot faster than she thought he would. Alejandro let go of her hair and stepped back.

"Who?" Lycan demanded.

"I don't know," Claire answered. Alejandro began popping his knuckles. "He was a vampire. He had brownish black hair. He had pale hazel eyes. He walked out of the castle with my sister propped on his shoulder. I couldn't fight him, I knew he was too strong for me to handle. So, I let him walk right past me. I considered following him but by the time I turned around. The man was gone. Leader Lycan, I'm telling you everything I know."

"So you admit that you were trying to rescue your sister." Lycan accused his voice growing louder. "You admit that you saw this vampire who broke into our castle and did nothing to stop him." Claire lowered her head in defeat. "So now that it has been confirmed that you are a traitor to not only this pack but our kingdom as well. You do understand that by allowing him to escape with Raven and doing nothing to stop him. You may as well have assisted his escape. The punishment for that," Lycan grinned. "Is death," Claire's eyes widened. He's going to kill her. She began to trying to break free of Alejandro's but couldn't. He's way too strong.

"Alejandro," Lycan let out a sigh. "Dispose of this traitor." Alejandro placed his palm under her jaw and was about to snap her neck.

"You can't kill me," Claire spoke. Lycan held up his hand to stop Alejandro. He waited for Claire to speak further. "If you kill me, you won't know how to make the Anti Sun Repellent. I'm the only person who knows how to make it. If you kill me," She paused. "You will lose your chance at winning the war."

"Anti Sun Repellent?" Lycan rubbed his chin. "Isn't that the drug my father requested you to make?" He asked, Claire nodded. "So, It's finally been completed." She nodded again. "If your statement is true then I have no choice but to spare your life that is unless." He grinned. "The drug doesn't prove successful. In that case," He tapped his fingers on his chair. "I have no reason to spare your life. So," Lycan smirked. "Let's test it shall we?" Test it, he wants her to test it? Claire wasn't sure how he intended to.

"Alejandro," Lycan spoke, the Beta gave him his full attention. "Go to the castle and get me one of the prisoners. The vampire might not survive the trip since the sun is out. So, Medic," He turned his attention to her. "Go and get me that bottle of Sun Repellent you've been keeping in your tent. Surely you didn't need all of it to make the Anti Sun Repellent. Alexis," He called out.

The moment her name was said, Alexis opened the cabin door and walked inside. "You called Leader Lycan," She crossed her arms, her eyes glaring at Claire. "Wait," She pointed at Claire. "You let Alejandro beat her up, I would have done it and took pleasure doing it. Man, it sucks not being Beta. They get all the fun."

"That's enough," Lycan spoke. "Take the Medic to her tent so she can fetch me the Sun Repellent and do not let her out of your sight."

"You got it," Alexis walked and grabbed a handful of Claire's hair. "Let's go bitch," She tugged at Claire's hair forcing her to stand. She kept a tight grip on Claire's hair as she walked her out of the cabin.

"Do you have to be rough?" Claire asked as Alexis kept pulling at the back of her hair.

"No, I choose to be," Alexis pushed Claire into her tent, she hit the floor face first. "Get the damn Sun Repellent. You have ten seconds or I'm going in there and beating your ass."

Claire opened her bag taking out the Sun Repellent and taking the vial of Anti Sun Repellent out of her blue ice chest. The ice chest was locked by numeric code to keep the medicine safe. "This stuff better work or I'm so screwed." She hoped to test it out before it was established that her life depended on its success. Now, it was literally do or die. "I got it,"

"Good," Alexis smirked. "Only two seconds left to spare. You almost got your ass kicked." She patted Claire's shoulder. "I would've enjoyed that." She smiled.

"I'm sure you would," Claire glared at her. Alexis held her hand out. She handed her the Sun Repellent. She in return handed it to Alejandro. He walked off to get her test subject. Meanwhile, Claire was left waiting with Alexis standing next to her.

"Just so you know," Alexis fixed her hair. "If this test of yours fails, I'll get the chance to kill you myself." She brought her lips to Claire's ear. "Fingers crossed." She moved her lips away.

"Alexis, stop tormenting Claire." Jay scolded. "I can hear everything you're saying to her. Enhanced senses, remember?" She rolled her eyes at him. "I get that you don't like her but she is my friend and still a member of this pack. So, knock it off."

"Friend?" Jayson raised his brow. "Brother, are you being serious right now? Claire is not-," Jay glared at him. "Alright fine," He put his hands up in surrender. "Forget I said anything. Not like you ever listen to me anyway."

After a few minutes, Alejandro returned with a vampire prisoner being dragged by the arm. The prisoner was frail, his body weak like he'd been deprived of substance for days. He was dressed in torn white clothing, his hands bound by chains. The fearsome Beta effortlessly threw the prisoner to the ground beneath Claire's feet. The second he was thrown he tried to run. Before he got anywhere, Alejandro growled revealing his sharp venomous canines.

The prisoner was then reminded he had only two choices. Death by a slow and painful poison administered by Alejandro's bite. Or, he could cooperate and be killed painlessly. He kneeled before Claire accepting his fate. She had a syringe in her hand in it containing the first sample of the Anti Sun Repellent.

Jayson remained keeping an eye on the prisoner while Alejandro left to get Lycan. Once Lycan was brought out of the cabin. The weight of his body resting on Alejandro's right shoulder using him as leverage to help him stand. "Go ahead, test it out, remember if this fails." He smirked at Claire. "You die," Claire gulped. His life and hers rested in this syringe. Her hand began shaking as the needle came closer to the prisoner's neck.

"What is that?" The prisoner panicked. "What's she doing with that needle? Screw this, I'm getting out of here." The vampire started to flee. The second he tried, Jayson punched him so hard in the jaw. His jaw broke out of the place. He was even coughing up teeth. As he began coughing up teeth, Jayson lifted him to his knees and held him in place.

"Go ahead," Jayson encouraged him. "Try to run off again and I'll make your whole fucking head explode. Now be a good leech and stay the fuck still." He tilted the vampire's neck so Claire could administer the shot. "Come on, just do it already."

Claire began moving the needle closer. She didn't want to do this but if she didn't. It would be more than just this one vampire dying. She'd die as well. the only way Claire was getting out of this situation alive is by killing this man. So, she had to do this. This shot had to work, it had to. The sharp needle went into the vampire's neck, she pushed down injecting him with the Anti Sun Repellent. She waited for the drug to take effect. But after two seconds nothing was happening. Lycan motioned to Alexis.

"Guess it didn't work," Alexis created a fireball in her hand. Claire's eyes widened as the fire ball was held over her head. "Goodbye Claire." She started to hurl the fireball at her. Claire could envision the intense flame burning her face. The flame growing larger until there was nothing left of her. A process that Claire's fast healing factor would make slow and painful.

"Wait," Claire yelled, shielding her face. The vampire's body started shaking uncontrollably. Tears were coming out of his eyes, he was drooling out of his mouth. "It's working," She pointed out. The drug was forcing him to drain out the Sun Repellent. The moment it was fully expelled from his body. The light of the sun ignited him in flames reducing his body to mere dust.

"Interesting," Lycan grinned. "Not only does it serve as a means to remove the Sun Repellent from their bodies. The process of removing it, renders the person unable to move or act. It causes them to seizure thus leaving them open for the killing blow. Even if they were to kill one of us, if the drug was administered. These symptoms would still render that person useless. Considering it takes roughly five seconds to take effect and another second to fully expunge the Sun Repellent. It could serve as a valuable weapon even if we were all killed. They'd still die by this drug alone. We just need to hit them once with this and we win."

"That's the idea," Claire answered. "It's meant to throw them off. Make the vampire think they've won but then once this takes effect." She held up the empty syringe. "It's a guaranteed kill. Either the sun would kill them or another werewolf could. Whichever comes first. Either way, the vampire is screwed. It doesn't give them an option to fight back or counter it in anyway. Also, since it's a liquid not a pill." She fixed her hair. "We can put on our claws or any sharp object we choose. Once it hits the bloodstream it begins taking effect. More versatile than a pill. The problem is," She let out a sigh. "It takes time to make and it has to be kept at cold temperatures. If it's kept at room temp or hotter for too long it'll dissolve and become useless. Which is why we'll need Yule to make it perfect."

"I'm guessing here but," Alexis crossed her arms. "The reason for the cold temp is because a vampire's body naturally runs cold. Therefore, it should stay in their bodies for quite awhile since it's maintained at the ideal temp. So if I was to guess," She paused. It appeared as if she were counting days using her fingers. "It'll stay in their bodies for about two to three months before the drug is expelled from their bodies."

"No it actually lasts longer," Claire answered. "The only way to get it out is to bleed it out. They'd bleed to death before the Anti Sun Repellent leaves their bloodstream. It attaches itself like a virus replicating itself again and again. As long as a drop of blood exists, it'll merge with it. Also making them a carrier."

"A carrier?" Jay raised his brow.

"Hold up," Jayson held his hand up in front of himself. "Did Claire just create a virus?" So he gets it, to be honest Claire didn't think Jayson could keep up with her logic. Perhaps he's a lot smarter than she gave him credit for.

"I guess you could call it that," Claire admitted. "The only way it can be passed on is through blood. If I can get it to where it can be maintained in a human body. We could spike their food thus making their so-called Sun Repellent useless. But for now, it'll give us the edge we need to win the war."

"Excellent work, Medic. I take it that there is only one sample." Lycan asked, Claire waved it at him. " I don't suppose you'll be handing it over."

"Not unless you can guarantee my safety." Claire smirked. "Like you said, I'm a thinker. So I'll hold onto this until the war. I'll continue to make copies but the original sample stays with me. I burned my notes and only I remember how to make it. So, if you want a guaranteed win against Lord Alexander. I guess that means you'll have to protect me won't you?" Lycan snarled. "I'm not my sister. I'm a hell of a lot smarter than she is."

"Is that so," Lycan grinned. "Well in that case I should go ahead and burst your bubble now. This virus you created has a weakness." A weakness? Highly doubtful, Claire has thought of every counter strategy. There is no weakness, no flaw, it's perfect.

"Spirit," Lycan added. "Any vampire who uses spiritual energy can purge it from their bodies." Wait, spiritual energy can do that? But spirit is something that only werewolves can use. Vampires shouldn't be able to use spirit at all. But then again, Angel was seen using it. So it's possible. So, there's a flaw, it's still better than doing nothing to combat the Sun Repellent. "It seems you didn't factor in the use of spirit. It's a mistake that has been made before. But it is a factor, which brings me to my next subject." He turned his attention to the pack. "It appears the vampire by name of Fate. Is no longer the only vampire alive that is capable of using spirit. The vampire who attacked me. He can use it as well."

"Wait a sec," Jay rubbed his chin. "Did you just say that the vampire who attacked you can use spirit?" Lycan nodded. "Well this complicates things. I mean Raven dating a vampire is one thing."

"But," Jayson crossed his arms. "A vampire who can use spirit is no joke. The fact they're using it is a miracle in itself. It's an energy that defies their very nature. That's why it is harder for them to use it. They'll never compete with a werewolf but still it's not something we should take lightly."

"Yeah, we don't want a repeat of Sozin." Jay added. Lycan eyes widened at the mention of Sozin. "That guy could do a lot of crazy things with Spirit granted a lot of what gave him the edge. At the time, No werewolf ever expected a vampire to use spirit so when he used it. It always caught his enemy off guard."

"I believe you're onto something Jay," Lycan smirked. "The vampire who attacked me. I haven't seen spiritual potential that high since Sozin. In fact, Sozin was the only known vampire who can walk in sunlight. Yet somehow, this vampire figured out how. I find it hard to believe he figured it out on his own. I'll need to speak with Nikan on this matter."

"You're not suggesting that-," Alexis laughed. "Leader Lycan, there's no need to speak with my father. He told me the story. Sozin's dead. If he were alive my father would've killed him a long time ago. He tried to kill Lord Grimm. No way in hell would my father let that pass. To even suggest that Lord Grimm didn't kill Sozin would only piss your father off."

"I'm aware." Lycan let out a sigh. "But if my father failed to kill him and if somehow Sozin was able to pass his knowledge onto this vampire. It would explain why this vampire was able to walk in sunlight. I refuse to believe he figured it out on his own. There's got to be more to this vampire's sudden rise in power."

"Alright," Alexis put her hands up in surrender. "If you want to talk to my father I won't stop you. I'm just saying if you even mention Sozin being alive. It's going to get to Lord Grimm and it's going to piss him off. So, it's your call Leader Lycan."

"Yeah I don't advise it either Leader Lycan," Jay added. "If word gets out that Sozin isn't dead, true or not. It's going to cause a huge stir in our ranks. We can't afford that right now. I think it's best we bury it and move forward. Nothing good will come of it."

"Even I got to vouch for that call," Jayson raised his hand. "Sozin killed a lot of werewolves. It will wreck our morale. We need to keep that quiet. It's best for us all to just say that Sozin is dead."

"I suppose there's no need to cause a stir," Lycan agreed. "Especially a stir that will anger my father. Forget I said anything regarding Sozin. Our main goal is focusing on killing the life growing inside Raven. She is pregnant with a hybrid child. This violates the contract if we don't remedy the situation and soon. Things will be disastrous for all of us, my father dares not to say why but he insists we get this matter dealt with swiftly. So, with that being said." He glanced over at Claire. "Right, I forgot you were still here. The fact is Raven is indeed your sister, I can't completely rule out the fact that you might be helping her. So,I'll be keeping a closer eye on you from now on. In fact, as the medic, you'll be responsible for taking care of me until I heal. So, medic, why don't you wait for me at my cabin while I discuss things with the rest of my pack."

"Excuse me but I'm a part of this pack too." Claire pointed out.

"Are you?" Lycan asked. "I think you should have considered that before attempting to rescue your sister. As of now, your loyalty is in question and if I were you." He glared at Claire, his glare so intense it sent chills down her spine. She gulped in response. "I'd tread lightly and do as I'm told. Now go and don't make me ask you again." Claire nodded and walked toward Lycan's cabin. "Alejandro, go and make sure she stays put. I'll be fine, I've healed enough to where I can use my spiritual energy to temporarily stand on my own." The Beta left and followed behind her.

Once Claire was in the cabin. She went to crack the door so she could eavesdrop on Lycan's conversation with Jayson. Jay was standing there next to him. However, once Alexis brought her lips to his ear and her hand gave a light squeeze to his groin. Jay's cheeks reddened and he spoke. "So Lycan, you know how when Lord Grimm said that we as werewolves should be ugh, breeding regularly to boost our numbers and that when the opportunity arises. We should always pursue it."

"I know what my father said. You don't need to repeat it," Lycan scolded. "If Alexis is trying to breed with you then just go. There's no need to excuse yourself." Jay grabbed Alexis hand and rushed into her tent. His brother was giving him a thumbs up as Jay was pulled into the tent by Alexis.

"I'm so proud of him," Jayson wiped a fake tear from his eye.

"Focus," Lycan smacked Jayson in the back of the head. "We need to discuss the Raven situation." Jayson nodded in response. His eyes would sometimes trail off to Jay's tent and stare at Alexis' solid red bra that was laying on the dirt by Lycan's feet. It wasn't long until her matching pair of panties were sent flying over Lycan's head into a tree. "Anyway, first order of business is-," Before Claire could hear anything else, the door to Lycan's cabin was slammed shut by Alejandro's foot. The loud slam left a loud high pitched ringing in her sensitive ears.

"Asshole," Claire rubbed her ear and Alejandro lightly hit the door with his elbow causing her to jump back. "Fine, if you won't let me eavesdrop then I'll just have to look for clues. Now if I were Lycan, where would I hide my most private information?" She checked underneath his bed, it was empty. "Wait, that's it, private." She opened Lycan's top dresser drawer, finding an assortment of boxer briefs. She couldn't believe she was going to check through his underwear. But if she was going to hide anything. This is where she'd hide it. The second she picked up a pair of Lycan's solid black boxer briefs. The door cracked open, Alejandro stood there at the doorway. His red eyes judging her.

"Wait, Al," Claire jumped. "I swear I wasn't." He quickly shut the door before she could say anything else. "Great," Claire sat down on Lycan's bed. "Now, Alejandro thinks I'm a pervert." She glanced over at her hand realizing she was still holding Lycan's underwear. She tossed it on the floor and wiped her hands on her pants. Out of curiosity, she walked over to Lycan's bathroom. Angel said he attacked Lycan while he was showering. She wondered just how much damage he did to the bathroom. "You've got to be kidding me." The wall beside Lycan's shower had been broken through completely. What did Angel do bust Lycan through the wall? She took out her phone and took a picture. She sent the picture to Angel and began texting him.

"Are you kidding me, you broke the fucking wall. Did you have to break the fucking wall? Would it kill you to show some restraint?" Claire sent the text. She gasped as a heart appeared on the picture alerting her that he loved the picture. She growled before she could text back, Angel replied to her. The text read,

"I love you sis,"

"I'm not your sister," Claire sent the text.

"You will be when I marry Raven." He texted back. "By the way, your sister was the one who put the heart on the picture, not me. She was just admiring my handiwork." Claire rolled her eyes after reading the text. She put away her cell phone. She walked to Lycan's window cracking it a little so she could eavesdrop on his conversation. If she's lucky, Alejandro wouldn't notice what she was doing. Though, after seeing her touch Lycan's underwear. She's sure, he wants nothing to do with her at this point. She wouldn't be surprised if she had momentarily blinded the Beta.

"So, Let me get this straight," Jayson began. Loud moaning could be heard from Alexis's tent as he spoke. "You want me and Jay,"

"Oh god yes," Alexis screamed.

"Yes, I want you and your brother to go and find Raven." Lycan finished. Alexis' moans began getting louder. Claire could tell Jayson was having a hard time ignoring Jay and his girlfriend. While Lycan on the other hand was unbothered by it.

"Look, we tried looking for her before. We couldn't find-,"

"Oh god, right there, that's it, Jay right there." Alexis screamed out. Alejandro shook his head in disappointment. Jayson grinned, Lycan snapped his fingers in Jayson's face to get his attention.

"I know you and Jay couldn't find her last time." Lycan continued. "This time, I'm giving you full permission to search everywhere. Yes I do realize this would mean stepping into vampire territory. But at this point, finding and killing Raven is more important. We can't afford to let her give birth to a hybrid. I just advise that the two of you,"

"Oh kami, oh kami," Alexis cried out. Alejandro began banging his head against the door. "Jay, stop, I think I'm going to, I think I'm going to-." She unleashed a flamethrower out of her mouth catching her tent on fire. The flames were quick turned her tent to ash. Jay was under her his tongue sticking out as if he were licking her. While he was doing so, his hand was jerking his. Claire shielded her eyes. Jayson's gaze shifted his eyes, staring at Alexis who was now naked behind Lycan. She took off running into Jay's tent.

"Alexis, wait, it's your turn to do me," Jay tried to open his tent but he was locked out. Lycan let out a long winded sigh. Jay turned around and blushed realizing he was standing outside the campsite with no clothes on. Everyone could see everything. He quickly put his hands over his junk and stood in front of his tent. Alejandro began rubbing his forehead. "Hi guys, look ugh, sorry about the noise. It was my first time doing-." Jayson made a swirl around his own lips to point out Jay had something on his lips. He wiped it off with his hand. "Sorry about that, so, what's up?'

"All I ask is that you be cautious." Lycan went to walk away. "Tracker, I know you're still new at using spirit but I made a special request to Nikan. I asked Nikan to teach you how to use spirit to further increase the range of your heightened senses. I take it he did as I asked and trained you on this."

"He did, Leader Lycan. But like you said, I'm still new at it so It's hard for me to maintain that range. But, I'll do my best." Jay replied. Alexis opened a crack in the tent and handed Jay a pair of blue jeans and some boxers. "Jayson," Jay began sliding on the boxers. "I take it," He stepped into the jeans and pulled them up. "Leader Lycan wants us to find Raven." He zipped his zipper.

"Quick to catch on as always, yes, those are our orders." Jayson grinned. "Except this time, we're not restricted to only searching werewolf territory." Jay's jaw dropped. He glanced over at Alejandro as if he were shocked by this knowledge.

"Dad, you're okay with this?" Jay asked. "I thought you said, we couldn't go beyond our borders. That it is too dangerous for us and we could get hurt. The only way we could go is if you went with us. You're letting us go by ourselves." Alejandro answered with a nod. "This is huge, dad trusts us. We're actually trustworthy, do you know what this means?"

"Yeah, it means dad finally acknowledges our strength." Jayson flexed his bicep showing off his muscle. "If I knew awakening spirit was all it took to get dad to respect us. I would have spirit decked Claire a long time ago. Let's go, I'm going to go beat my meat in vampire territory." He shouted, raising his fist in the air. Alejandro slowly shook his head in shame.

"Hunter, before you go." Lycan spoke. Jayson stopped dead in his tracks. "I have a favor to ask of you. Just you," Jayson walked up to him. "It seems our Medic has been eavesdropping on our conversation." Claire went to shut the window so she couldn't eavesdrop anymore.

"Medic," Lycan called out. "There's no need for you to hide it, I'm well aware of what you've been doing so you might as well keep the window cracked." She groaned. Claire kept the window cracked so she could listen in on his and Jayson's conversation.

"Now Hunter as I was saying," Lycan resumed. "There's something I need you to do for me. I'd like you to remind our dear Medic where she stands in this pack. She thinks because she created the Anti Sun Repellent she can do whatever she wants. I need you to remind her she is still the weakest in the pack. I will not tolerate her eavesdropping nor betraying our pack. So, I'd like you to spar with her. I think it might do her some good."

"Fight Claire, me?" Jayson pointed at himself. "Leader Lycan," He laughed. "I mean no disrespect but, Claire can't beat me in a fight. It'd be a waste of my time, hell. I'd have a harder time beating my meat with my left hand than fighting her. She might as well just roll over and play dead. It's an insult to my skill."

"He's right, there's no point in having my brother fight Claire." Jay chimed in. "I mean, it's Claire, sure, she's got some kinks to work out. Lately she has been acting out of term, But, to go as far as to make her spar with my brother. That's a bit much don't you think?"

"I'll fight her," Alexis raised her hand out of Jay's tent. "I'll need to get some clothes on first but I'll fight her. Please let me fight her," She begged. "I want to fight her."

"I've made my decision, " Lycan spoke. "Jayson," He paused." You're the Hunter of this pack. Normally it would fall on the Beta to discipline the disobedient members of the pack. If you want to talk about a punishment being too much. Consider the type of beating my brother Alejandro's going to give her if I ask him to do it. This is me being merciful. Besides, think of this as a training lesson for our dear Medic." He brought his lips to Jayson's ear.

"Think about it, Jayson," Lycan whispered. "Your brother wants nothing more than to protect Claire from harm. He'll do so even during the war, she'll get your brother killed. Unless you teach her how to protect herself properly she'll cost you your brother's life. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you once say. Jay's life means more to you than your own. So if I were you, I'd take this opportunity to teach Claire and save your brother's life. I'm giving you a chance, take it."

"I'll do it, I'll fight her." Jayson answered.

"What, brother, are you serious right now?" Jay argued. "It's Claire, you know how I feel about her. You can't just-,"

"Shut up, Jay," Jayson shouted. "I'm done, just because you have feelings for this bitch. It doesn't give her the right to treat you like she does. She used you and you let her. She keeps hurting you and you keep protecting her. So if you want to protect her so badly." He tightened his hand into a fist. "Then protect her from me. If you can't then shut the fuck up. Now, bring her ass out of here."

Claire went to crawl under the bed to hide. Before she could, Alejandro grabbed her by her foot and pulled her. He propped her on his shoulder and began walking toward Jayson. "Let go of me, I will not fight Jayson," She reached into her pocket and pulled out her knife. She immediately began stabbing Alejandro's back with her knife to make him release her. He ignored the stabs and kept walking toward Jayson with her on his shoulder. "Stop it, let go, I won't do it, I won't, you can't make me. I re-," Before she could say another word. Alejandro dropped her off his shoulder and she fell and hit the dirt landing on her head. "Ou," She rubbed her head. Alejandro yanked her knife out of his back and threw it beside her. The wound in his back began healing right away.

"Pick the knife up, I dare you." Jayson encouraged her.

"I'm not going to fight you Jayson," Claire rose to her feet. "Leader Lycan, I don't care what your orders are. I made the Anti Sun Repellent. Without me, you're fucked so if I were you, I'd let me go right now. I'm not fighting him."

"Of course you're not," Jayson smirked. "You're not like your sister, you're not as strong as her, you're not prettier than her, you might be smarter than her. That's really all you got on her and let me tell you something. Brains," He pointed at his forehead. "That's not going to get you laid, you're a pity fuck at best. You don't even have a nice pair of boobs to stare at." Claire grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it in his eyes. She picked her knife up and stabbed him in the knee cap, twisting the silver blade back and forth.

Jayson grabbed her skull with both hands and slammed her face into his knee, breaking her nose. He ripped the knife out of his knee and threw it down. While she was trying to get up, he threw his leg back and kicked her in the stomach. "Not bad, but," He grabbed Claire's leg. "Not good enough." He flung her, Claire rolled across the grass landing next to her knife. She tried to pick up the knife. When she did, he stomped on her hand, crushing it. He kicked the knife away from her. "For someone so smart, you really are," He smirked. "So predictable," He kicked her in the stomach again. She tried to pick up dirt, she caught her hand before she could throw it. He forced her to drop the dirt then struck her with a headbutt to the face.

Claire fell on her back laying there in the dirt. She kept trying to get back up but Jayson was just too strong. She could try throwing dirt but he's expecting that trick now. Her knife, she could try stabbing him. She began crawling to her knife.

"Seriously, so predictable." Jayson grabbed her ankle and pulled her away from the knife. He grabbed the hood of her jacket and forced her to her feet. Once she was standing, he punched her in the jaw knocking her back down. She began crawling to her knife. "Wait, there she goes, she's going for the knife. Oh wait, I know, I'll just." He grabbed her by the hood of her jacket and pulled her away from the knife. He let out a sigh as Claire kept trying to reach for the knife. She kept crawling and crawling but every time she did, she got pulled away from the knife. Werewolves are weak to silver, that knife is her best defense. But if that defense is unreachable, what's she supposed to do? What's her strategy here? She wasn't cut out for fighting. "Enough already," He picked Claire up by her jacket and threw her, she rolled across the dirt.

While Claire was on the ground, he placed his foot on her throat and began choking her. She kept trying to remove his foot but he was too strong. She kept pushing at his foot but his foot continued to press down on her throat.

"J-Jay, H-H-Help M-Me," Claire managed as Jayson's foot continued to press down on her throat. Jay ran at his brother only to be pushed down with one arm. Jay fell on his ass as he tried to get up when he did. Jayson glared at him, his claws came out and he growled at his brother. Jay lowered his head in defeat. Wait, Jay wasn't going to help her. Is he really going to let his brother kill her? No, she can't die not like this. Not to Jayson. She had to fight back, she had to.

Claire's claws emerged, she dug them into Jayson's foot forcing him to let go. She quickly rolled to grab her knife but stopped herself. Jayson was standing in front of the knife if she went for it. She'd just be granting him the advantage. As much she hated to admit it, the knife wasn't helping her in this fight. If she was going to stand a chance against him. She had to rely on her own strength and skill. Which means, it was time for her to put her brother's self defense training to use. She faked going for the knife. Jayson went to stop her once he did. Claire spun behind him and slashed him in the back with her claws.

"Fuck," Jayson ran his hand along the cut looking at the blood on his finger tips. He tried to punch her. She jerked back creating a small space between his fist and her face. She leaned forward and punched him as hard as she could in the jaw. Now that she's hit him, the next phase was to never let up. She kept slashing him with her claws refusing to give Jayson any time to recover. She could beat him, she could-

Claire arched over Jayson's fist as he struck her in the stomach. She felt the wind shoot out of her body. She fell to her knees holding her stomach. In that instant her regenerative blood began healing her, subduing the pain. That's right, she heals automatically which means. She can take a beating and dish it out just as easy.

Claire forced herself to stand and kept swinging at him with her claws. He dodged her strikes, caught her arm and quickly threw her over his shoulder. Claire rolled, picked her knife and threw it at him. Jayson dodged it and hit her with a running knee strike to the face. She shook off the hit and forced herself to back on her feet.

"Is that all you got," Claire wiped the blood off her lip. "No wonder my sister beat your ass. You hit like a bitch." Jayson was taken back by her comment. To be honest, she was amazed by the fact she trash talked someone like Jayson. That's something Raven does. Not her. Perhaps, she's more like her sister than she thought. "Let's go, bitch." She tried to tackle Jayson, he sidestepped her. The second she hit the dirt, she flung it at him using her claws to dig it up.

"There you go," Jayson shielded his eyes from the dirt. "Now you're getting it. That's how a werewolf fights." He kept dodging her claw strikes by stepping to the side. "We don't need knives, we got claws. That's it, That's it, you're getting it. Keep the attacks coming." She tried to tackle him to the ground. He grabbed her and threw her. She quickly got back up and tried to tackle him again with more force this time his feet skid back a little. "That a girl, use that strength," He grabbed her and threw her across the dirt. She jumped at him with a flying claw strike. He stepped back, dodging her attack. "There you go," He kept dodging her attacks. "Use those leg muscles, lunging, kicking, that's where it's at." Claire kicked him, pushing him back. "Good, you're-," Claire's knee struck Jayson right between the legs making contact with his family jewels. He dropped to his knees, groping his balls. She got him! Now to finish it. Claire slapped Jayson, hitting him so hard he fell over with a solid red hand print across his face.

"Yes, I did it," Claire boasted. "I beat Jayson," She turned her attention to the rest of the pack. Of course, they were shocked. Not that she blamed them, not even she predicted that she could beat Jayson. Jay's jaw was dropped and Alexis was standing outside Jay's tent in a pair of black pajama pants with an orange T shirt. She was grinning for some reason. Even Leader Lycan was standing in shock, Alejandro had one hand over his mouth as if he were using it to fight back a laugh.

"I get it," Claire put her hands on her hips. "You guys are amazed by my skill but I am Raven's sister after all. So, it makes sense that I could beat Jayson in a fight. Who would've thought one shot to the balls would be enough to take him down. I guess that's his achilles heel. So much for the balls of justice. I guess he won't be using those anymore." She stood there waiting for them to respond. But, they just stood there. "Okay, I get you're shocked but you could at least-," The ground beneath her feet began to shake. The shakes were becoming more and more constant. Was this an earthquake? Or, she felt immense heat coming from-. She turned around once she did. She was paralyzed by fear.

Jayson's eyes were burning red, his nostrils flared, his muscles grew. She could see steam radiating off his body. This aura was it, spirit? "We got a code red, code red people, code red," Alexis called out. Lycan and Alejandro cleared the camp grounds, retreating to the forest."Oh Claire," She let out a deep sigh. "You're so fucked, I'm just glad I get to watch from the treetops." She walked off.

"Brother, please, don't," Before Jay could get another word out. Jayson held out his palm. Claire's jaw dropped as spiritual energy swirled around the palm of his hand generating a fast spinning sphere of spiritual energy. "Oh no," The sphere shot out of the palm of Jayson's hand and knocked Jay on his ass. "Ou, this is worse than last time." Jay's voice strained. "Before, he didn't know he was using spirit. This time," He was fighting to stay awake. "He knows, Claire you've got to-," He closed his eyes, being rendered unconscious by Jayson's attack.

"Jayson, look, there's no need to-," Claire's eyes widened as Jayson charged at her with a powerful shoulder tackle. He was moving so fast, she didn't even have time to dodge. His shoulder collided into her stomach. Once it did, Her body was sent crashing through several trees until. Jayson leapt into the air with a downward push. He slammed her back against the ground creating a massive crater. Claire's eyes widened as Jayson's fist came toward her face. The amount of spirit radiating off his fist, if he hit her with that she'd-.

Before Jayson's fist could connect, Lycan and Alejandro grabbed both of his arms and pulled him off Claire. Jayson was kicking trying to get to her. He jerked one arm forward and bit down on Lycan's hand making him let go. Once that arm was free, he jammed his claws into Alejandro's hand ripping at his flesh. As a result Alejandro let go, once freed, Jayson charged forward. Before he could get to Claire. Alejandro wrapped his arms around his stomach holding him back.

"Let me go, I'll kill her," Jayson began forcing himself forward. Alejandro's feet started skidding forward to Claire. "She hit me in the balls, you know what happens when I'm hit in the balls. Let me at her, she's dead, she's fucking dead. I said let me go," He swung his leg back kicking Alejandro in the balls. He let go of Jayson, grasping his jewels.

Jayson ran at her, Claire started to crawl away. He was just about to grab her until Lycan punched him in the back of the head. Jayson ignored the punch and grabbed Lycan's arm. He threw Lycan over his shoulder sending the Alpha flying into a tree, spine first. Lycan let out a loud scream as he held his already injured spine. He laid there on the ground trying to move but was now unable to.

Jayson walked over toward Claire grabbing hold of her ankle. She started screaming as he pulled her closer to him. Her claws dug into the dirt as she was brought closer and closer to him. He's going to kill her, he's going to kill her. Claire closed her eyes bracing herself for death. When she did, she felt Jayson grip on her ankle fade. His body came crashing down, hitting the dirt below. Alejandro stood behind him having struck Jayson the back of the head. Jayson tried to fight the pain and reach for Claire. Once he did, Claire quickly crawled away from him. Alejandro sat down on Jayson's lower back to keep him pinned down as he reached for Claire. "Let me at her, Let me at her," Jayson yelled. His body started to change. Oh no, He's going to turn into his werewolf form. Clare took shelter behind a tree.

"Don't worry, I got him." Alexis stuck Jayson in the neck with a tranquilizer. Jayson's eyes began fading in and out as he kept reaching for Claire. "Damn, he's persistent. I guess one dose isn't enough." She took out one more syringe and poked him in the neck. His hand dropped and Jayson laid there sleeping. "It won't last long, he will be awake before you know it. So don't think you're out of the woods yet. Also," Alexis glanced over at Claire. "Just to clarify, I didn't do this for you. I did it for them." She pointed at Alejandro and Lycan. "After being hit in the balls, Jayson's spiritual energy spikes to usually high levels. This effect is also increased by a sudden rise in adrenaline. Put simply," She put her hands on her hips. "Jayson becomes an unstoppable killing machine that will kill everyone and everything just to kill the person who hit him in the balls. Which is why you never hit Jayson in the balls."

"Exactly," Lycan agreed as he bandaged his hand. "When he's like that not even Al and I can stop him. We have to call Grandpa Nikan for backup and even he and the elemental guard struggle to stop him." Alejandro walked over to Lycan helping him to his feet and providing him with his shoulder for support.

"This began as a joke strat but," Alexis smirked. "Leader Lycan made it official. If all else fails," She ran a finger through her hair. "We told Jay to hit his brother in the balls and run to the vampire side. The amount of vampires he's going to kill to get to Jay could win us the war."

"Noted, so what do you mean I'm not out of the woods yet?" Claire asked. "Jayson's asleep, he's not going to attack me now."

"He will," Alexis replied. "If someone reminds him that you hit him down there. Luckily he won't remember but when he does. He'll attack you again. I would know, I hit him there once." She added. " The only reason I'm still alive is because he forgot about it. So if you tell him about what I did, I'll tell him about what you did. Then, He'll try to kill both of us. So don't get any ideas."

"Seriously, you're telling me he's never going to let this go." Claire raised her brow. "It was one time that shouldn't be grounds for hunting me till the ends of the earth."

"It's Jayson," Alexis reminded her. "One thing he cherishes is his balls. So much so, he calls them the Balls of Justice. You hit him in his most sacred place. Once is enough, trust me, he'll never let it go. You might as well accept it. If I were you, I'd hope he wakes up and doesn't remember otherwise, you're fucked."

"Ou, my whole body hurts." Jay tried to move. "It feels like I was hit by a cannon. I never knew Jayson could fire spirit from the palm of his hand." Alexis held her hand out. He grabbed it and she lifted him to his feet. "Anyway," He kissed Alexis's cheek. "We'd better get going." He walked over to Jayson as he was sleeping. "Hey dumbass," He kicked his brother. "Wake up, it's time to go."

Jayson let out a loud yawn and began stretching out his back. "What happened?" He doesn't remember, Claire let out a sigh of relief. "Did I take a nap in the middle of camp again? Man," He rose to his feet. "That's the third time that's happened. The last time was when-," He began rubbing his chin. "Hold on a sec, the last time this happened was when I was fighting Alexis and she, she did something and it really pissed me off. Now, what did she-,"

"Time to go," Alexis began pushing Jayson out of the camp. "Remember, you and Jay are supposed to go and search for Raven. These are Leader Lycan's orders and you know how impatient he is so you guys should definitely go."

"Right, we got permission to check Vampire territory. I don't have a backup pair of pants in those areas. I should probably." Jayson turned and went to head back to camp.

"No worries, I got them right here," Jay showed him the blue bag draped on his shoulder. "I had packed an emergency travel kit just for occasions like this."

"Emergency? This doesn't seem like an Emergency. We should save that bag for-,"

"No this is definitely an emergency, you should go." Alexis smiled at him. "Like you said, you've got to jerk off in vampire territory."

"Oh yeah, it's not everyday I get to do that, this is a special occasion. Which is kind of like an emergency right?" Jayson asked.

"Yeah totally, we need to go, let's go." Jay grabbed Jayson's arm. "Bye, Alexis, I love you." He dragged Jayson away from Nightshade Camp.

"I love you too, Jay." Alexis yelled. "Considering you just saved my life." She murmured these words under her breath.

"That was a close one," Claire added. "He almost remembered." Lycan cleared his throat to get her attention. That's right, she's supposed to be looking after him until he heals. She also had to find time to sneak away and warn her sister about the twins. A task she knew was going to be close to impossible since now, she's under everyone's radar…

The two werewolf twins continued walking through the forest. Jay was taking point since he knew these woods like the back of his hand. His brother was following close behind him. "So Jay, I think it's time we had a talk." Jayson spoke. Jay ignored him. They were now close to Lord Grimm's castle. If they were going to track down Raven. They needed to retrace her or better yet her rescuer's footsteps.

Jay was originally going to follow the footsteps of the vampire who attacked Lycan. But, whoever this vampire was, he knew what he was doing, He had a way to avoid detection even from someone like him. Definitely not your average vampire. So it left him no other option than to start from where Raven was-.

"Hellooo," Jayson began shaking Jay by the shoulders. "I'm trying to talk to you," He pushed Jay down on his ass.

"What is it?" Jay yelled. "Can't you see I'm trying to track Raven? It's not exactly an easy task. Especially with you yapping in my-," He sniffed the air, that scent, it can't be. He quickly turned to face the direction the scent was coming from. In the midst of trees there was a faint trail of white running past. It was covered in…

"I know that scent from anywhere," Jayson smirked. "It's Raven," He broke into a sprint chasing after the scent.

"Jayson, wait," Jay chased after his brother, quickly catching up to him. "This could be a trap, we had trouble finding her before. We searched for hours and you're telling me all of a sudden now, she's going to be dumb enough to let us track her down. This doesn't add up,"

"Or maybe," Jayson countered. "It's because we were searching for her during the mating moon. Our hormones were out of control. Our powers weren't at their fullest. She could have gotten lucky. Let's face it, we were too focused on boners to care about finding Raven. She's an Omega, the weakest of our pack. Of course she's going to make dumb mistakes like this. Now, stop arguing with me and let's catch this bitch." He grabbed Jay by the arm and threw him into the treetops. He jumped from tree to tree gaining on the white robed figure.

"This doesn't make sense," Jay kept jumping from tree limb to tree limb. The robed figure shared Raven's scent but the speed that she was moving. The maneuvers, she was obviously toying with them. But if this was Raven. She wouldn't be able to do that. Of course Jayson wasn't paying attention to this. He was more focused on catching her. The woman began heading left, Jay turned and followed her. The second he did, she went right to fake him out. He stayed locked in on her scent trail and used spirit to increase his speed. He was now only a few inches behind her.

"You're mine," Jayson began plowing through trees making his own shortcuts. The woman's feet skid across the dirt as she came to a complete stop. She casually held out her hand to stop them. Jayson's feet skid as he tried to stop himself. "Shiitt," She poked his forehead with her index finger making him stop and with a small push she helped regain his balance. It was like Jayson's momentum and strength were nothing to her.

"Jayson," Jay landed on all fours in front of her. She removed her finger from his brother's forehead. "Did she hurt you?"

"No, of course not, like I could be hurt that easily especially by Raven." Jayson began taking deep breaths. "We got you Raven, now it's time to fess up. Have you been holding out on us this whole time? When we met, you were not this strong or fast."

"She's not Raven," Jay glared at the woman. This robe, it wasn't a robe, it was a torn bed sheet that was covered in Raven's scent. Most likely taken from Raven's prison cell. Which begs the question. How was this woman able to break into the castle and steal a bed sheet and why would she steal a bed sheet covered in Raven's scent? None of this added up, this had to be a trap.

"What do you mean she's not Raven?" Jayson asked. "She smells like her. So, obviously it's Raven."

"Listen to your friend, I'm not the wolf you seek." The woman spoke. "I do, however, know where she's hiding. There's a cave unmarked in the map not too far from town. That's where she's hiding. Head in that direction," She pointed west. "You won't miss it,"

This woman, Jay's heart began racing, his hands were shaking. He was afraid of her and he wasn't sure why. He didn't understand why Jayson didn't feel this same fear. But something about this woman was off. She wore a sheet to give her same scent as Raven. But beyond it, he could smell something else. Something different. She didn't smell like a vampire or a werewolf but she definitely wasn't human. Her lips formed a slight smirk as if she recognized this fear.

"I'll be going now, I wouldn't want to hold you up any longer." The woman disappeared into the forest leaving the torn bed sheet behind. Jayson picked up the bed sheet and sniffed it.

"There's no mistaking it, that's Raven's scent." Jayson glanced over at Jay. He stood there still frozen by his fear. "What's with you? It's like you saw a ghost or something."

"You can't be serious," Jay's hands were still shaking. "You didn't sense anything. That woman, she could have killed us. She was toying with us. Like this was some kind of game. Could you not see that?"

"Whatever, she's gone. So does it matter?" Jayson threw the bed sheet down. Jayson was moving full speed at her and she stopped him with just one finger like he was nothing. How could his brother just ignore something like that? "So what are we going to do, take the woman's advice or not? You're the tracker here so.."

"What if it's a trap?" Jay asked.

"Judging by the way you were acting when you saw the bitch." Jayson crossed his arms. "I doubt she needs a trap to kill us." He added. "It's also our only lead. I'm not going to lie, I am slightly bummed we won't be going into vampire territory after all but. That's only if she's where the lady said she was. Either way," He shrugged. "We should check it out." Jay nodded and they left.

Jay didn't know who or what that woman was but deep down. He hoped he never saw her again. This feeling, this fear, he too recognized it. What Werewolf wouldn't? It's the fear that consumes the prey when it comes face to face with its predator. Usually, they are on the other side of that fence. Somethings wrong, very wrong...
