Chapter 393: Talk With Mavis
(Jason's POV)
"Well, he looks like he's still asleep." I said as I stood over Erion who was lying down, "That's good."
I looked at him, he was still wrapped in his blanket with his eyes closed, sleeping peacefully.
"Yea." Lucy said sitting next to him, "I should go and get some extra diapers and milk, just in case."
I nodded, "Sure."
It was half an hour after Lucy and I finished with our quickie. She quickly showered, which was very quick to be honest, while I cleaned up. I wanted to check in on Erion to see if he was having any problems, which he wasn't.
Lucy stood up as I heard the door open.
"Oh!" She said, "First!"
I turned around to see Mavis standing on the door, looking at us with a curious face.
"Hey, Mavis." I said, "What's up?"
"Uhm." She said, "Sorry if I'm disturbing you....I wanted to check in..."
Lucy shook her head, "No, you're not disturbing." She said, "I'm gonna go and get some stuff for Erion-kun and check on Natsu on the way back."
"Oh, Okay." Mavis said
I watched as Lucy walked out of the room as Mavis stepped out of the way. Mavis then looked at me, her beautiful emerald green eyes glistening in the light of the room. She looked really pretty for some reason, her pale skin glowing, her long wavy blonde hair draped on her shoulders. Her nice and mature body was very arousing to look at.
Why was I thinking like this right now? I don't know.
"Uhm." She said as she stood there while fidgeting her hands
"Something wrong?" I asked her
She cleared her throat, "I wanted to discuss a few things with you." She said, "Alone. Lucy should be gone for a bit, so this could be a good opportunity."
"Okay." I said, "That's fine."
She then walked over to the bed and looked at Erion who was sleeping. She smiled slightly as she leaned down and gently patted the top of his head.
"He looks so calm and peaceful..." She said softly, "Look at him, what a precious child...."
I nodded, "Yea..." I said
Mavis then sat down on the bed, next to Erion as she looked at me with a somewhat serious face. I could tell there was a bit of conflicting emotions in her face. I could tell by just looking at her, something was on her mind and I wasn't sure if I liked what is going to come out of her mouth.
"Jason." She said, "I need you to be honest with me."
I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
"I am not an idiot." She said, "You're hiding something. And not just one thing, a lot of things. Lucy was right. And I don't appreciate the way you treated her during that argument."
I sighed as I sat on a chair, "Okay.." I said, "We're doing this?"
She frowned, "Yes, we're doing this." She said, "I'm not Lucy, Jason. She.....She doesn't the truth."
"What truth?" I said
"The truth about you." She replied, "I was there when your memories were restored, Jason. I know exactly what you've been through, I don't need to remind you."
"And what does that have to do with any of this?" I asked
"It means that you can trust me." She said seriously, "You don't have to burden yourself with secrets, open yourself up to me and I can help you with whatever it is you're troubling yourself with. Please."
I really don't know what to say to this. Frankly, I'm not sure if I want to have this discussion again, even if it ain't with Lucy. There's so much shit going on and a lot of things I'm worried about. This is War, for crying out loud. Why can't people just cut me some damn slack and let me worry about things my way.
"I don't think-" I started
"Jason!" Mavis said
I looked up at her, she walked up to me and grabbed me by my shoulder with a serious scowl.
"Jason." She said seriously, "I love you."
I blinked, "Huh?"
"Don't you understand?" She said, "I love you, Jason. And I don't want to see you eat yourself out from the inside while hiding secrets from everyone! I don't want you to be burdened by whatever it is you feel guilty about....I know what it's like, Jason, I've been there. You know my secret, Jason, why can't I know yours?"
I looked her right in the eyes, she was serious. Dead serious. She had said these words to me before, that she loved me. Back then, I didn't know what to think or say to that, I wasn't sure if I believed her. I mean, I don't know what I felt about it either.
"I...." I started
She patted my cheek, "Tell me." She said, "Please, just tell me. I give you my word, Jason. I won't tell a soul, not unless you allow me to. Just don't allow yourself to carry this burden by yourself. You're doing too much by fighting this war on my behalf, carrying your secrets is the least I could do."
"Hm..." I said
She then sat on my lap and wrapped her arms around me as she inched her face closer to mine. I could feel the warmth of her body as she pressed herself against me, the scent of her hair was hitting my nostrils and it felt a bit intoxicating.
"I won't allow you to keep things from me...." She said, "You understand that, do you?"
Maybe I should tell her. I should tell someone that wouldn't freak out about it. Lucy freaked out about me knowing the whole thing with Brandish, she would've freaked out a bit more if she heard the truth about Natsu and Zeref. She would've freaked out and been more confused than anything about Erion and Erza being siblings. And then there's the whole thing about Silver and Gray, how am I going to drop that on someone without people getting in my face and asking me why I didn't say things earlier?
"O-Okay...." I said, "I'll tell you...."
"But promise me you won't tell anyone."
**************************************************
"Oh..." Mavis said, "So....wow...that's a lot.....that's a lot of information...."
She was sitting down on the bed, next to Erion. She had her hand on his head, rubbing it gently as the kid slept peacefully.
"Yea..." I said
I had told her everything that I knew and was keeping from everyone. Well, not everything. I left out the part about Natsu being Zeref's brother and August being her kid. I couldn't bring myself to tell her things that weren't in my right to do so. I mean, I should probably tell her about August, but I don't have the heart to do so. As for Natsu and Zeref; Natsu should say that when he wakes up. We'll deal with that when we get to it.
As for the rest, I told her everything: Erion being Erza's brother, Silver being Gray's dad and the things he's done, Hades being imprisoned in my domain and escaping, and that I wanted to kill both Silver and Hades.
"Precht...." Mavis said softly, "I...I feel terrible about what happened to him...."
"Yea..." I said leaning back, "It's quite tragic...but there's no use feeling bad for him, Mavis. He's done terrible things and there's no changing that. He and Silver, they're loose out in the world. If it comes to it, I'll do what I have to."
She looked at me, "I...I understand.." She said, "I didn't know he was so persistent on killing you. I apologize for that, Jason."
I shook my head, "You don't have to." I said, "I was never in danger."
"And about this Silver fellow..." She said, "How do you think Gray will take it?"
I sighed, "I wanted to tell him for so long, Mavis." I said, "I feel guilty about keeping it from him. But there was no going back from it, I was too far in to try and tell him. Silver had already killed and hurt countless of people, Mavis, he's too far gone....I am responsible for him. Honestly.....I should've killed him when I had the chance....Hades too...."
"Hey...." She said softly, "You didn't kill them because you're not a cold-blooded killer, Jason. It's okay to hesitate when brought to that decision."
"Tell that to Zancrow..." I said looking down, "I didn't think twice about killing him."
"Y-Yea..." She said, "Erza told me...."
It was different with that bastard. I felt a rapid rage when I thought about him, it was too much to handle. I had to do something.
But when I killed him and reflected on it later, I didn't feel a change. I was still so angry, I was so mad that I began to think about why. As it turned out, I wasn't just mad at him, I was mad at myself. I was mad that I was so reckless in impregnating Kagura. If that didn't happen, I wouldn't have put her in that situation; she would've defeated Zancrow with no issues and she wouldn't have to go through that terrible heartbreak.
"As for this one....." Mavis broke the silence, "What will you do?"
I looked up and saw her patting Erion's cheek with a warm smile.
"Hm?" I said
She looked at me, "Really, Jason?" She said with a smile, "You not only slept with a Shield of Spriggan and impregnated her, it had to be Erza's mother. I can't believe you."
I scratched my cheek as I chuckled, "Hehe..." I said, "Well, I mean....she's not the only milf I had sex with..."
"What's that supposed to mean?" She said raising her eyebrow, "Who else was a mother when you slept with them?"
I leaned back, "I'll never tell..." I said looking away
"Very funny." She said, "Well...."
I watched as she stood back up and walked over to me, sitting on my lap.
"It is decided." She continued as she patted my chest and rubbed it, "While you're out and fighting battles, I'll stay here. And I'll look after the child....Okay?"
"Lucy already said she'll do that." I said
She chuckled, "Well, if we need Lucy to help out in fighting, I can't have her stressing about Erion, can i?" She said, "I'll let her know."
"Okay." I said, "There's also his condition, I haven't thought about what I'll do."
She hugged my neck, "You'll think of something...." She said with a smile, "I know you will."
"Mavis." I said, "About what we discussed....."
She gave me an assuring smile, "I won't tell anyone, Jason." She said, "You have my word."
"You can trust me.'
