Fairy Tail: Strongest Creature

Chapter 140: Su Yan Vs Zero

Chapter 139: Su Yan vs. Zero

Moments earlier, Brain's markings had vanished, and a terrifying new persona—Zero—emerged, claiming to be the true master of Oración Seis. Now, radiating dark magic unlike anything before, he confronted Su Yan atop Nirvana's sprawling ancient cityscape.

"Zero?!"

Natsu, Wendy, and Happy all stared, wide-eyed.

"That's not Brain anymore?" Carla muttered, unsettled by the drastic change.

Su Yan could practically taste the malevolent aura wafting off Zero.

"'Happy', Carla—take Natsu and Wendy back," Su Yan ordered calmly. "I'll handle this alone."

He sensed that Zero's level of power posed a serious threat to less durable fighters. Besides, the chaos of their battle might endanger anyone nearby.

Zero sneered. "Handle me? Foolish brat. You'll all regret trampling on my guild."

He thrust one hand forward, unleashing a barrage of dark energy spheres.

Boom!!

Blasts erupted around Su Yan and the others, forcing Wendy and the cats to scramble away. Smoke and sparks swirled, but when the dust cleared, Su Yan stood untouched.

"Look at that," Zero said with mocking surprise, "you're still alive. Then I'll make sure to shred you beyond repair."

Su Yan locked eyes with him. "Go ahead and try."

Zero charged, dark magic crackling around his limbs. Su Yan stepped forward to meet him.

Crash—!

Their fists clashed with an echoing impact that shook the nearby towers. Dust billowed out; stone beneath them splintered from the collision. For a moment, it appeared they were equally matched in raw power.

Whoosh—

Zero ducked a follow-up kick from Su Yan, smirking at the near miss. Then he retaliated with a savage punch aimed at Su Yan's temple. But Su Yan dipped his head low, as if he had eyes in the back of his skull, catching the blow in his palm.

"Huh?" Zero's brow furrowed. He felt an iron grip seize his fist.

"Haah—!"

Su Yan flung Zero forward; Zero tumbled, but mid-throw, he fired a dark magic bullet straight at Su Yan. Acting on reflex, Su Yan angled his hand, parrying the bullet off to the side.

BOOM—!!

A nearby building took the brunt, erupting in a flash of black flames and rubble.

Zero slammed into a half-broken wall and quickly rebounded, remarkably unharmed. "You're good," he admitted, forcing a grin. "But so am I."

High above, Happy hovered alongside Carla, each gripping Natsu and Wendy respectively. They watched the furious exchange from a relatively safe distance.

"Th-they're both monsters," Wendy whispered, quivering with anxiety.

Carla, too, felt uneasy. The shockwaves alone were frightening.

Happy, however, mustered confidence in Su Yan. "Don't worry, I've seen him fight worse. Su Yan's nowhere near done."

Back on the battlefield, Zero wagged a finger. "Now, let's see you handle the real might of my darkness, boy. Infinite Dark Fantasia!!"

Dark energy whirled around Zero in a spiraling vortex, each bolt of magic screeching through the air. The onslaught rushed toward Su Yan from multiple directions.

Su Yan dropped low, conjuring a wave of Armament-like Haki over his body, shading him a glossy black, while that familiar purple lightning of Conqueror's Haki crackled around his arms. He welcomed the storm with a fearless stance.

Crash—!!

The sphere-like blasts smashed into Su Yan's protective aura. The shockwaves battered the surroundings, caving in stone walls and shaking the entire city's platform. Yet Su Yan, though pushed back, still stood.

"Tch… Not enough," Zero hissed. "Then how about—"

Before Zero could finish, Su Yan swept his arm in a fierce arc, releasing a domineering sword shaped of swirling violet energy. The blade cut through the air, scorching a jagged path across the ruined plaza.

Zero's eyes flared. "Try me… Eternal Dark Rondo!!"

A spinning helix of darkness erupted from Zero's palm, colliding with the Haki sword. The resulting clash unleashed black-red lightning, tearing at the stone underfoot. A thunderous boom reverberated, and the two energies detonated, hurling debris in every direction.

Su Yan wasn't finished. Even as the blast roiled out, he compressed more of his Conqueror's Haki, forming a second sword in a fraction of a second—faster than Zero could reset his stance.

"What?! So quickly—!" Zero cursed.

With no time to conjure another large-scale defense, Zero pivoted to the side, but Su Yan closed in, driving the new sword forward.

Crack—!!

Zero barely managed to deflect the tip, but it still grazed his torso, tearing open part of his cloak and drawing blood. The slash also pitched him back, skidding to a stop near the tower's edge.

He panted, glaring. "Damn you… Arrogant whelp."

Su Yan exhaled, swirling the violet sword away. "Told you—this ends here."

Zero's eyes glowed red, fury emanating from his aura. "Don't you toy with me. I'll kill you, then annihilate that worthless guild of yours. Fairy Tail, Cait Shelter—everyone in the light—!"

Su Yan's expression hardened. He advanced once again, an unstoppable presence. "You're the one getting toyed with, Zero. You just can't tell."

As they prepared for another ferocious collision, the wind around them howled, centuries-old spires crumbling further beneath the weight of the battle. The final confrontation with Oración Seis's darkest side had begun in earnest—and only one would emerge standing atop the wreckage of Nirvana's accursed city.
