Fairy Tail Destiny

Chapter 9: Ch 9 : Initial Awakening

Oshibana Station.

As the central transportation hub of the entire city, Oshibana Station had always been bustling with people.

However, not long ago, it was attacked by the dark guild Eisenwald led by "Death God" Erigor.

Caught off guard, the station fell into their hands with almost no resistance.

Although the city's garrison quickly mobilized, sealing off the station and attempting to reclaim it, the overwhelming difference in combat strength made the situation grim.

"Please step back! There's been a train derailment, and the station is temporarily closed," a city guard shouted through a loudspeaker to the surrounding civilians.

Naturally, the disgrace of having the station taken over by a dark guild wasn't something they could announce publicly, so the guards resorted to the flimsy excuse of a train accident to placate the crowd.

Suddenly, a hand landed on the guard's shoulder from behind.

When the guard turned around, he saw a red-haired woman clad in armor with a valiant and commanding presence.

"Hey, you. What's the situation inside?" Erza questioned the stunned guard.

"Who are you...?" The guard was naturally taken aback by the sudden inquiry.

Before he could answer, Erza, growing impatient, knocked him out with a single punch.

"What's going on inside?" Erza turned to a second guard.

"Uh...?" The second guard was similarly dumbfounded and met the same fate as his predecessor, knocked out by Erza's fist.

Noel, feeling awkward, stepped in to stop Erza's "violent interrogation."

With a warm smile, he politely asked the last trembling guard, "Hello, we're mages from Fairy Tail. Could you please tell us the situation inside?"

"A... a group... of d-dark mages... has taken over the station... T-they've completely seized control... A squad of soldiers j-just went in," the terrified guard stammered.

"Thanks." Noel turned to the others and said, "Looks like the Eisenwald members are inside. Let's go."

"Wait," Lucy suddenly spoke up. "Hey, why am I in charge of this?" She pointed to the unconscious Natsu slung over her back.

Noel nodded. "Yeah, sorry to trouble you, Lucy."

"..."

As Noel and the others ran into the station, they quickly came across numerous fallen soldiers along the way.

"Completely wiped out," Lucy gasped in disbelief.

"The opponents are a whole guild — all mages. A single squad of soldiers stood no chance," Gray remarked grimly.

------------

"So you've come, the pesky flies from Fairy Tail," Erigor sat on a high platform, his expression dark as he glared at Noel and the others.

"Why are there so many of them?" Lucy was shocked as she looked at the dozens of mages densely packed together.

"You must be Erigor?" Noel fixed his gaze on the man wielding a scythe, with white hair and a bare upper body.

On the opposite side, Kageyama looked at Noel and the group with an irritated expression. "Flies! It's because of you that I was... by Erigor..."

"That voice?" Natsu, who had been unconscious, immediately woke up upon hearing Kageyama's voice.

"What exactly is your purpose? What do you want with Lullaby?" Erza asked sternly as she locked eyes with Erigor.

Erigor sneered at Erza, using his wind magic to suspend himself in the air before landing on the station's loudspeaker.

He countered with a question, "What do stations have?"

Erza immediately understood his intention, her face filled with rage. "You plan to make innocent people hear the sound of Lullaby?"

"This is purification. Fools who don't understand power, yet cry out for it as if they have a right to live freely... or those who remain ignorant of the world's injustice, that is a crime. Therefore, Death has come to administer their punishment."

The moment Erigor finished speaking, an overwhelming aura pressed down on him.

An indescribable, raging bloodlust mixed with a suffocating scent of thick, congealed blood swept over him.

Even Erigor, who prided himself on countless kills and ruthless cruelty, found himself unable to breathe.

His mind went blank, as if ravaged by a colossal natural disaster, leaving behind only desolation and silence.

His thoughts were completely severed.

Trembling uncontrollably, Erigor felt as though he had been utterly subdued by an immensely powerful presence — unable to think, move, or even feel.

The overwhelming aura came and went in an instant, dissipating as quickly as it appeared.

"Sorry, I lost control," Noel said in a deep, low voice, covering his right eye.

His long golden hair draped down over his forehead, obscuring his expression.

"Noel?" Erza, realizing something was wrong, grabbed his shoulder with concern. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Noel lifted his head and forced a smile, though anyone could tell how strained it was.

(Damn it, I almost lost control and let him out because of Erigor's provocation. With my body's condition worsening recently, his tendency to go berserk is becoming harder to suppress. How long can I even hold out? No... I have to endure it. Even though he isn't some world-destroying demon king, if he emerges, the consequences would still be unimaginable.)

Noel's heart was heavy.

No one understood better than he just how powerful and terrifying he was.

There was absolutely no one on the entire continent who could stand against Him — not even Zeref or the dragons.

If He descended, it would be a disaster hundreds of times worse than when Zeref ravaged the continent.

"Damn it... What kind of monster is that guy?" Erigor, finally snapping back to his senses, looked at Noel with lingering fear.

No one could imagine just how much willpower Erigor had used to suppress the killing intent in that moment without collapsing.

No one noticed that cold sweat had already soaked his back.

"Leave the rest to you. Show them the true terror of a dark guild," Erigor said, rising high into the air before disappearing from the station.

"He escaped?" Happy and Lucy exclaimed in shock.

"Natsu, Gray, you two chase after him. If you work together, you won't lose, even against Erigor. Do you hear me?" Erza shouted angrily at Natsu and Gray, who were glaring at each other.

"Yes!" Both Natsu and Gray broke into cold sweats and quickly ran off in pursuit of Erigor.

"They're escaping!" "We'll stop them!" Eisenwald executives Rayule and Kageyama immediately moved to intercept Natsu and Gray.

Erza, however, ignored them, her attention fixed on Noel, who was still leaning against the wall with his hand covering his right eye.

Worried, she turned to Lucy and said, "Lucy, take care of Noel. I'll deal with this group and then catch up."

"Uh... okay," Lucy glanced at Noel and nodded.

"Wait, Erza," Noel struggled to open his left eye and looked at her. "Be careful. Your magic power is already running low."

"Got it." Erza acknowledged with a nod.

"Requip: The Knight!"

A sword appeared in Erza's hand as she charged into the crowd, taking down countless mages with a single move.

Seeing Erza's performance, Noel finally closed his eyes in relief, focusing on adjusting the power within his body.

(I have to figure something out... If this continues, in less than three years — no, two years — I'll lose the ability to suppress Him. And when that happens...)

It took Noel several minutes to once again force His consciousness back into his right eye.
