Chapter 9
- STOP YELLING! - Came Pollyushka's rage-filled voice.
She walked out of the house rubbing her back.
- I'm sorry! - The three mages replied in unison.
- Polyushka, well, how is he? - Makarov asked anxiously.
Narrowing her eyes, she looked at the old man, making him cringe.
- He's alive, - she sighed and said tiredly, - I stabilised his condition, but it's better not to disturb him for the next few days.
- Good, - Makarov felt as if a heavy weight had fallen from his shoulders, - Can I have a look at him?
- Old man, aren't you listening to me? - her sharp gaze was fixed on the small figure of the old man, - I told him not to bother him for the next few days.
- I understand, I'm sorry.
Silence descended on the clearing for a moment.
- Now that you've learnt his condition, GO AWAY FROM HERE!
- YES! - With a chorus they disappeared from the clearing.
With a hum, the old woman took the broom back into the house and closed the doors.
Two days later.
A lot had happened in those days. First of all, the territory of the Dark Forest, halved and blamed it all on the Fairy Tail and for some reason it did not cause so much surprise to the people of Magnolia. After all, this guild already had its title of "The most reckless guild" and this is not just because any task performed by a member of this guild, even the simplest C-rank, always ended up in huge destruction. Therefore, the last two days, the Guild Master, and one of the God-Elected Makar Dreyar, have been spent at the headquarters of the Magical Council, located in the city of Era.
Era is a large city built around high rocky mountains, and on the mountain is the headquarters of the highest authority in the world of Magic, the Magical Council. The rocky mountain is in the heart of the city, and it has rough paths that surround the periphery of the mountain as the entrance to the Council's headquarters. The city is surrounded by forest and mountains in the snow.
The council itself is the main ruling body of the world. The council has almost complete control over it. The council rules over all the legal guilds (i.e. the light guilds) holding supervision and control, and they are also responsible for the actions of the mages, as well as having the right to punish them for breaking the laws. Therefore, the last few days Makarov, as the master of the guild, listens to the tedious speeches of old men and tries to settle this issue. Since to answer what: Gildarts, destroyed half the forest, because the dark mages began to scatter and he was too lazy to chase each one separately, it is stupid, because then it is elderly brainiacs him for sure, will not soon be released. So Makarov stood with his head down and listened to this tedious speech, while in his mind imagining how he would beat the crap out of this ungrateful child, who made all this mess.
- That's enough of that," said the old man, who was as tall as Makarov, with thick light brown eyebrows and a small nose. He wore a long-sleeved brown shirt with black vertical stripes and a black three-toothed hat," "You have to look for the pluses in everything.
- PROS?! YAJIMA-SAN, WHAT GOOD DID YOU FIND IN DESTROYING HALF THE FOREST?! - An old man with a long purple beard and three eyes shouted from his seat. Dressed in a white cloak.
- One of them is the complete destruction of the dark guild, - the old man winked at Makarov, - Yes, and do you think that this forest was just called Dark?
- Of course I know! - hissed the council member, - Because of the large number of dark creatures, and also...
- Yes, and it's also a place where dark rituals are often performed, and of course, all sorts of underground activities," Yajima interrupted him, "And even if that Gildarts kid had destroyed the forest, we should be thankful to him.
- Yajima-san! Stop defending that damn guild!
- I'm not defending anyone, I'm just stating facts.
- Stop this nonsense! - After two days of proceedings, the following decision has been made! Gildarts Clive is accused of violating the Magical Code of the Kingdom of Fior, Article 167 and is punished by a fine of forty million precious, the term of payment is one year, the decision is final and not subject to appeal!
When all the councillors left the hall, only two remained in it. It was Makarov himself, who was whiter than chalk and constantly uttered only one phrase:
- S-forty million... S-forty million... S-forty million... S-forty million... S-forty million....
And also Yajima, who was looking at his friend with sympathy.
- Enough with the forty million," he patted him on the back.
- But... that's forty million....
- Well, your little brat will perform a couple of three S-rank missions and everything will be earned... So, let's go for a drink, you'll heal your nerves.
But Makarov didn't hear him, because all he had in his head was this gigantic figure.
- Yajima took him by the scruff of the neck and dragged him to the only place he knew.

The second was that almost all of the children that were found had joined the Fairy Tail guild, under pressure from Rick and Lily.
Rani, who was first thought to be a dark mage, and was, was released with Makarov's permission, but he wouldn't leave the guild, waiting for Eros to come to his senses to find out the next course of action. Rick and Lily did the same, they both swore that for the rescue they would stay by the titan's side forever and help him.
Eastern Forest. Pollyushka's house.
Upon entering the house, the first thing the old woman saw was Eros lying on the table with a book in his hand.
- You're recovering quite quickly," Polushka said thoughtfully, putting the bag on the table, "Other people in your place wouldn't have been able to move for at least another week.
- Did you save me? - He looked at the old woman, she nodded and sat down on one of the stumps, -Thank you very much, I will do everything to repay you for your kindness in the future, -He tried to get up, his face twisted in pain and he fell back on the table.
- Don't try to get up," she hummed and went to the next room and came back with a strange thick green liquid, "Even with your inhuman regeneration, it's best to refrain from any movement for the next few days.
- I know that," he said with a sigh, "Then maybe you can teach me to read and write while you can't move?
Polushka looked at the boy in surprise, thinking about something, she nodded.
- Okay, - this answer surprised Eros, not even that, SHOCKED him. In fact, the titan had come to his senses yesterday, but had decided to hide it, and he could hear her cursing at those who came to check on him and her monotonous mutterings about the weakness of humans and how she hated them. - Polushka asked when she saw his reaction.
- I thought you hated humans..." said Eros embarrassed.
- I do hate them," the old woman said with a snort, "But you're not a human, so why should I hate you?
- What makes you think I'm not human? I have two arms, two legs, a pair of eyes and ears, one mouth, a nose... I am one hundred per cent human.
- If you compare it that way, yes," Polushka nodded, taking some ointment and applying it to Eros's wounds, "But if you put it that way, the first ones on the list of the God-Elect are also human.
- God's Chosen?
- Yes, the strongest mages of the Continent.- Interesting," Eros nodded thoughtfully, taking note of these 'people', "They're not human?
- The first four lost their humanity long ago....
- I see, thank you for explaining," he picked up the book and handed it to Polushka, "Then let's close this topic, if not human, then not human," Eros added in his mind, "but titan".
Taking the book, she put it away on a shelf. Afterwards, opening one of the cabinets, she took out another book and handed it to Eros.
- I'll explain everything only once, and whether you understand or not, I don't care.
- That's enough, thank you.
Two more days passed at this pace. When Polushka returned with the groceries, she saw Eros again with the book she had put on the shelf.
- Can you already read such heavy books? - she asked in surprise.
- With difficulty, - the titan answered glumly, took out another book and quickly flipped through it, nodded and returned to the first book, - But thanks to the magic dictionary, I was able to understand.
- Well, that's good," Polushka said indifferently, putting the food on the table.
Perhaps from the outside one could think that she didn't care and wasn't the least bit surprised, but in fact, deep down, she was shocked. After all, only yesterday she had explained how to read each letter and how to construct sentences, and he could already read such heavy books as "Rituals and Runes" freely, of course not without the help of a dictionary, but that was just a small thing.
- Aunt," Pollyushka shuddered at this address, "what is lacrima? - Without paying attention to her reaction, Eros asked, - I didn't find this word in the dictionary.
- Lakrima... Show me where you read it, - taking the book from his hands, she looked at the ritual that Eros wanted to perform, - Hm... Ritual of determining the affinity to magic... I see, - her thoughtful look fell on the boy, - According to your magic channels, I can definitely say that you already know its attribute, why do you need it?
- To be sure.
- Okay," she pulled out a completely transparent ball, "This is the lacrima you'll need for the ritual, it's the most common storage lacrima, you can store a certain amount of magical power in it, of course there are many other lacrimas, such as: communication lacrima, observation lacrima, video lacrima, explosive lacrima, and so on, - Polushka took out a couple of other types of lacrima, - For you, because of the lack of magic, you will need a lacrima-storage, it can contain magic power twenty times more than your reserve.
- Hmm... Convenient," Eros nodded thoughtfully, taking the lacrima in his hand, "Let me borrow it from you.
- After the ritual, it will self-destruct.
- Shall I buy it then?
- Where'd you get the money?
- I'll earn it..." he looked at his injuries, "When I'm fully healed.
- Take it," Polushka said with a wave of her hand, "It's been in my wardrobe for three years already.
- But... - she narrowed her eyes and looked at the boy, who got goosebumps from that look, - I understand, thank you.
- You can get the ink from the top shelf.
- Yes!
So Eros continued his treatment while studying Polushka's library, learning more and more about the world he found himself in.
