Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Going Home
Opening his eyes, Fate found himself lying on a dark grassy field, the landscape shrouded in ominous mist. The air was cold, heavy with an unnatural stillness.
"Mom?"
He instinctively called out, pushing himself up to look around—only for reality to crash down on him.
She wasn't here.
She wasn't with him anymore.
His gaze shifted toward the old castle in the distance, its silhouette vaguely familiar. Recognition clicked.
"This looks a lot like the Land of Shadows—Battleground Blitz from Fate/Grand Order."
For a moment, he lay back down, resting his head on both hands, before saying calmly to himself. "I seem to have awoken from my nap in the Land of Shadows."
His eyes widened and he sat up as quickly as he lay down. "This is no time for jokes! I REALLY AM DEAD HERE!!"
CRACK.
A fist crashed down onto his head.
"OW!—" His face slammed into the ground with a dull thud.
A very angry purple-haired woman stood behind him, crimson eyes burning with fury.
"YOU BRAT!" Scathach's voice echoed like a thunderclap. "I LEFT YOU ALONE FOR FIVE DAYS—FIVE DAYS—AND YOU'VE ALREADY GOTTEN YOURSELF KILLED!?"
Her fist clenched. A tick mark pulsed on her forehead. Fate, still rubbing his head in pain, slowly turned back to meet her menacing red glare.
A fist was raised.
And then—
"AAARGH—!"
After an unholy beatdown, Scathach finally calmed down, shaking the blood off her hands. Fate lay twitching on the ground, thoroughly reprimanded.
With a sigh, she crossed her arms. "As much as I'm happy to see you... it pains me that you're here of all places." Her voice softened, her eyes reflecting something deeper. "You arriving this early means… I won't have a grandchild to spoil."
Fate, still struggling to sit up, froze.
"...Wait, what?"
Did she just—
He blinked at her, completely lost. She couldn't seriously be upset just because he didn't have a child for her to spoil… right?
But before he could argue, Scathach's expression shifted. Her sharp instincts took over, her gaze turning serious.
"Something's wrong."
The playful air disappeared. "There aren't any wandering shadows here."
Fate's brows furrowed. "Huh?"
"I've been traveling for five days, and you're the only thing I've found." Her crimson eyes narrowed. "That's not normal. Something is off."
A creeping sense of unease coiled around Fate's gut.
"Wait… just you?" His mind raced, piecing things together.
And then—realization hit.
"Start—"

Companion: Igneel(0), Scathach(3)
The first section of his stats appeared before his eyes, floating in the air like a holographic screen. At first glance, nothing seemed to have changed significantly.
"Huh? What is that?"
Fate flinched, his head snapping toward Scathach.
She was looking directly at his status screen.
"Wait… You can see this!?" he blurted out, eyes widening in shock.
Scathach, now intrigued, bent forward slightly, scanning the screen as if reading it in her mind. "Of course, I can. But more importantly—scroll down. I want to see more."
"…"
Fate froze, his thoughts racing.
Something was off.
Why could she see it?
This screen was his personal system, something only he should be able to perceive. It had never been visible to anyone else before.
Then—
A realization struck him like a thunderbolt.
Processing the situation, his eyes sharpened.
"I'm… not actually dead," he muttered, piecing everything together.
After a brief but thorough explanation—
"Ohh."
Scathach's lips curled into a smirk as understanding dawned upon her. "So, that's how it is."
She crossed her arms, gazing at him with an amused yet impressed expression.
Instead of truly dying and reaching the Land of Shadows, Fate had somehow copied her soul and integrated it into himself through [Data Soul]—binding her essence to his very being.
"You little rascal," she chuckled, shaking her head. "To think you actually pulled off something like that."
She tapped a finger against his forehead, a mix of pride and exasperation in her tone.
"This means I'm not actually here," she continued, stretching her arms slightly. "I'm just… part of you now."
Fate stared at her, still processing the weight of what he had just learned.
And as if to confirm it, he focused on [Data Soul].
"Huh, so this is the power of [Data Soul]" Fate said looking at his stats info.
[Data Soul] - Bond Level:
Level 1: The soul can interact with the user through their mental connection.
Level 2: The soul can see the user's stats screen.
Level 3: The soul can appear in astral form outside the user.
Level 4: The soul can connect and merge their memory with the original.
Level 5: The soul can materialize in the real world.
"I really should've paid more attention to my Talents," Fate muttered, rubbing the back of his head, a dumbfounded expression on his face.
"Yeah, you should have," Scathach replied, arching an eyebrow. She crossed her arms, clearly debating whether her son was a genius or just an idiot. "You have [Clairvoyance], yet you still let a bullet hit you in the head."
Fate flinched at her words, looking down slightly, but he knew she was right. [Clairvoyance] was an invaluable ability, enhancing his perception and reaction speed, yet he had neglected to refine it. Instead, he had prioritized the Class Cards, relying on their power rather than fully mastering his own innate skills.
And that decision had come back to bite him.
"I see," Scathach said, her sharp eyes scanning him. "Now, then. I know exactly what I need to teach you."
With a flick of her wrist, she stabbed her spear into the ground beside her, the sharp tip sinking effortlessly into the dark soil.
"You have too many abilities, and yet you're lacking the fundamentals. I won't allow that to continue." Her piercing gaze met his. "So get up... or I'll kick you up."
Fate couldn't help but smile. He should've expected this.
Time passed in an unrelenting cycle of combat and discipline.
Fate didn't know how long he had endured her training, but eventually, his eyes opened again.
He found himself lying on something soft. The familiar scent of herbs and aged wood filled his nose.
His vision adjusted, taking in a wooden ceiling above him.
"This place..." he murmured.
His sharp eyes quickly darted around, scanning his surroundings. He was in Porlyusica's house—a place he hadn't expected to wake up in.
'How the hell did I even get here?'
The last thing he remembered was his vision turning black after training in [Data Soul], where he had spent seven brutal days getting his ass kicked by Scathach. And yet, somehow, he had emerged stronger—his skills sharper, his instincts honed.
Then, another memory surfaced.
Before losing consciousness, he had whispered a single phrase to himself:
"I wanna go home..."
A realization struck him.
Sitting up, he muttered, "Let's go back home."
'Start.'
Immediately, his stats screen appeared in front of him, but his eyes weren't focused on the text. Instead, he noticed the background moving.
'Oh ho? This is?'
The world outside his stats screen shifted, like watching a live feed from a camera. He saw his own body walking through the forest, heading toward his house.
'So that's what happens when I access this place… My body moves on its own, following my last conscious desire before entering.'
Fate smirked. 'Looks like I really didn't know much about my own abilities.'
Moments later, he felt his awareness fully return to reality—and he was now standing in front of his house.
The old tree beside it had grown slightly wilder, with vines and leaves sprawling in every direction. Yet, the runes he had inscribed into its bark were still intact, glowing faintly as they continuously absorbed ethernano to power his Bounded Field.
It was still operational, maintaining his home's defenses.
Then—
"FATE!"
A familiar voice called out.
Fate knew exactly who it belonged to even before he turned around.
Erza.
She stood at the forest's edge, her scarlet hair illuminated by the dim light filtering through the trees. Her expression was a mix of confusion and worry, her sharp eyes scanning the area.
From her perspective, Fate had walked into the forest and simply vanished.
"Fate! Where are you!?" she shouted, breaking into a run.
She charged straight toward the Bounded Field—only for it to seamlessly shift her perception.
Without realizing it, she unknowingly bypassed him, appearing on the other side of the protective barrier without even noticing his presence.
Fate stood there, watching silently.
Erza continued searching, her gaze darting around. "Fate! Answer me!"
Her voice carried a deep concern, a raw emotion that she rarely let show so openly.
For a brief moment, Fate considered stepping forward.
But then, he closed his eyes.
'It's better this way.'
Turning away, he walked into his old house, leaving Erza behind.
Hoping she would eventually give up on him.
Erza didn't give up. She has been trying to find him for the past few days, but each time she only ends up running in circles.
"Just how stubborn are you?" He mumbled to himself, turning away before using his runes as he let out the treasure he claimed from Rider. The Extra picked up a red heart-shaped gem, the size of his palm.
Chaos Control
Fate murmurs his trigger words, similar to Shirou's "Trace On".
His magic circuit flares up sending his magic energy into the red jewel, using Jewel Magecraft to put his magic energy into the small jewel, he remembers how deadly Rin Tohsaka could get with her Jewel Magecraft.
Although he wants to try something like Kiritsugu's Time Alter. But after remembering the side effects it has on the Magus Killer's body. And he was only able to push through thanks to Avalon: The Everdistant Utopia, the hallowed scabbard of Excalibur. Something that he currently doesn't have.
There are more other Magecrafts he could learn, but the Magecraft of the Tohsaka is currently the most beneficial toward him while also affordable.
"With this, I can create a form of battery for my magic energy. And this also helps with my training." Fate said to himself, his eyes are still focused on the gem in his hand. 'Start'

Stats
Strength 134.2
Endurance 417.5
Agility 173.4
Perception 301.4
Magic Power 1526.8
Vitality 101.2
His stats appear in front of him showing the progress he made training with Scathach, who now has an actual training plan and knows what to actually teach him. Now focus more on helping him develop his skills rather than just simply hitting him really hard to the point that his bone becomes that of steel.
"You should pay more attention to your guildmate." Scathach appears in astral form next to him, the Extra turns toward his bounded field, seeing Erza, Gray, Natsu, and the Strauss sibling looking for him.
"Great she just has to bring more people in to look for me." Fate narrows his eyes at them, knowing he fuck up again, him coming back to Fairy Tail is one thing. But him coming back to Fairy Tail looks like he is half dead and is a whole other can of worms.
Fairy Tail Mages care for each other like family, seeing one of their own come back looking like a walking corpse would probably set everyone off. And the said corpse just disappeared again, putting everyone on edge.
"Hey, why don't you create a Talent? You have enough SP to make a good one or two." Scathach said floating around in the air with her head resting on both hands, while her left leg rested on her right.
Fate scrolls down a bit looking at his [Gacha Talents] which only has 1 hour left before he can use it again. Letting out a sigh, the Extra lay down also similar to his mother resting for a bit.
[Talents Combine] - The user can combine his different talents. Talents used for combination will disappear once used. The combination would result in either the best possible outcome, a mix between the talents, or a completely new/random talent.
"This can be either really good or really bad." Fate said and his mother also agreed. "Now then let's test this out."
Fate selects two of his Masteries that might be the most compatible with each other.
[Cleaner] + [Master Cook] + [Care Taker] = [Best Maid]
Fate blinks once, then twice, then a third time looking at his [Best Maid] Mastery. He could hear Scathach laughing in the background.
[Best Maid] - The user now has the talent and ability of the best caretaker, excelling in cleaning, cooking, and caretaking into a master's degree.
"AM I A FUCKING JOKE TO YOU!?" The Extra yelled in frustration, not because of how the Talent had turned out. The effect it gave is a huge up just like the name said it, but could it have picked a better name?
"Hahahahaaa." Scathach couldn't stop laughing, normally she wouldn't be bothered much by a male wearing a maid outfit. No matter what her son chooses to do with his life, she will support him. But the thought of him wearing a maid outfit and having the title Best Maid. She could not hold her laughter anymore.
[Clairvoyance] + [Instinct] + [Nobunaga Tactics] + [Emotion Read] = [Mind Rope]
[Mind Rope] - The user now can access a kind of extrasensory perception, the presence of another from 25 meters away, one strength from a 17-20 meter, emotion and intent from 7-13 meter away, a form of a future vision(Locked) that let the user see 2-5 second in the future. The last ability can be developed with training and time.
"Jackpot!" The Extra cheered.
"Not bad, [Clairvoyance] was a gamble but it looks like everything paid out."
After a few more hours of combining Talents, Fate smiled looking at the many new Skills he got, he also got some useless Skills which he used to put in a random pile to hopefully get something good from them.
[Pseudo Perfect Form (Clay)] + [Living Weapon (Clay)] + [Pseudo Demon King] = [Living Weapons]
"Huh?" The Extra is confused seeing his new talent, but...
Talent
Mastery: [Dancer], [Harvester], [Best Maid], [Translator], [Overgrowth], [Crafter], [Endure], [Weapon's Mastery], [Free Style], [Living Weapons]
Skill: [Death Door] (2/9), [Gacha Talents] (718hr), [Magician's Library], [Music Player], [Charmer], [Data Soul], [Magic Resistant], [Time Jump], [Evolution Paths], [Baptism Rite], [Riding], [Reciprocated Slaughter], [Talents Combine], [Mind Rope], [Lock-On], [Mirage Edge], [Hrunting], [Presence Manipulation], [Slide Trickster], [Blitz Draw], [Boost], [Territory/Items Construction], [Payback Ten Folds], [Second Skin]
"Why is [Living Weapons] on the Mastery tree?" Fate question.
Scathach saw her son staring at his system. She decided to look around, her gaze landed on the magic circle on the ground in front of him, this brought a sense of nostalgia for her. The place they first meet and where he summoned her by accident. And where she saved his life.
"Are you my Master?"
The moonlight shone behind her, casting her shadow over his small injured body in front of her. Scathach still remembers it as if he summoned her just yesterday.
She could understand her boy's attraction to power, but her son's attraction seemed more like an obsession to her. While she yearns for a powerful opponent that could one day kill her. Fate is obsessed with gaining power. They really are alike.
One time he almost dived into Sacrifice Magic, until she found him sitting in a blood circle with a tie-up child, and flame candles all around the magic circle. This earns him an ass-kicking before she sets the crying child free.
Scathach yelled in genuine confusion, while Fate sounded like he had just won the lottery.
Standing in the center of the summoning circle was none other than—
A chibi Oda Nobunaga. Or Chibi Nobbu
The tiny Servant, no taller than a child, grinned mischievously before throwing her arms up in excitement.
"Nobu! Nobu!"
Without hesitation, the chibi charged toward Fate, scrambling up his body like a squirrel before perching herself on his head.
Scathach stared, utterly baffled.
Fate, however, simply reached up and lifted Nobbu into his hands, his expression practically glowing with joy.
At that moment, he looked like a man holding a new puppy.
Nobbu wiggled happily in his grip, shouting, "Nobu! Nobu!"
Scathach continued to stare, utterly perplexed by what she was witnessing.
She didn't know what the hell a 'Nobu' even was.
It was clear that the chibi figure was some kind of Servant—but she didn't look like any Servant Scathach had ever encountered.
Her presence was odd, her form ridiculous, and yet...
Somehow, despite herself, Scathach found the whole thing kind of cute.
However, a more pressing question formed in her mind.
Her sharp gaze flickered toward her son's hand.
No Command Seals.
Scatach wants to turn to her son to question him, but he is grinning like an idiot holding the Chibi Nobbu in his hands.
A week had passed.
Most of the Fairy Tail mages had long given up searching for the white-haired boy who had vanished like a ghost.
The once-hopeful calls of his name had faded into silence.
Now, only the heavy rainfall echoed through the darkened sky, beating mercilessly against the forest.
"Fate! Where are you!?"
Erza's hoarse voice barely carried over the storm, her throat raw from days of shouting his name into the void.
The only response was the relentless downpour and the chilling wind that cut through her soaked clothing.
Her steps were sluggish, heavy footprints marking the damp earth behind her.
Dark bags rested under her bloodshot eyes, exhaustion pressing against every fiber of her being, yet—she refused to stop.
Her body trembled from the cold, the rain soaking her to the bone, but she pushed forward.
Because she knew.
Even if no one else believed it—
Even if they had searched the entire forest—
Her gut told her he was still here.
She wouldn't leave. Not until she found him.
"Fate… Please… come out…"
Her voice had grown so weak it was barely louder than a whisper.
Her lips trembled, but she wasn't sure if it was from the cold or the fear.
"Don't… leave me."
A memory flickered in her mind—
"I've got it! What do you think of 'Scarlet' as your last name?"
Jellal's bright, innocent smile flashed before her, his voice filled with warmth as he admired her red hair.
Then—his expression twisted. That warmth turned cold.
"Enjoy your freedom!"
"Because you'll be carrying the weight of your friends' lives, Erza!"
The voice in her head shifted again—
"Promise."
Fate's voice.
Kind. Gentle. Familiar.
Then—his smile slowly faded, replaced by a sad, exhausted expression.
"I'll try."
Her chest tightened.
Why?
Why did this keep happening?
Why does everyone leave?
First Jellal.
Now Fate.
She didn't understand why, but deep down, a horrible, suffocating feeling clawed at her heart—
If she didn't find him soon, she would lose him.
Just like she lost Jellal.
And she couldn't let that happen.
She wouldn't—
She couldn't be abandoned again.
Her parents had left her, abandoning her at Rosemary Village before it burned to the ground.
Then, she had been enslaved—stripped of a home, a family, a purpose.
Jellal had once saved her, showing her kindness—then, he turned into something cruel, something unrecognizable.
Then Fate appeared.
Fate, who pulled her out of her despair.
Fate, who gave her hope again.
Fate, who brought her to Fairy Tail—her new home.
And now… he was leaving her too.
If she didn't find him—if he disappeared—
Would she lose everything all over again?
She don't even know anymore.
Her knees buckled.
Her vision blurred.
The past and present blurred together.
A figure with blue hair walked past her.
Erza couldn't bring herself to look up, couldn't stop him.
More footsteps followed—Sho, Millianna, Simon, Wally, old man Rob—all walking away.
She could hear their voices.
She could see them.
They weren't real.
She knew they weren't real.
But still—
"AHHHH!"
Her scream tore through the storm, raw and desperate.
Her body trembled violently, ready to collapse.
Then—
A pair of black metal boots appeared in her fading vision.
Erza's breath hitched.
The shape was familiar, but unlike the other, who had already walk away from her, this one actually stayed.
She struggled to lift her head, rain dripping from her bangs.
Her gaze met a pair of icy-blue eyes.
A face she knew.
A face she had been searching for.
"...Are you okay?"
His voice was calm—devoid of the weight she had been carrying all this time.
Her lips parted, but no sound came.
Her vision darkened.
Then—
Everything faded to black.
