Chapter 18: Unwelcome Guests
Lizarius stood, his glowing yellow eyes fixed on the crocodile. His body crackled with lightning, poised to deliver the killing blow. The crocodile, still belly standing, its mouth smeared with blood and its chest heaving with labored breaths, suddenly collapsed. Its massive body crashed to the ground with a resounding thud.
Lizarius, still charged with lightning, was taken aback. He soon realized the poison had finally taken effect. The lightning around him slowly dissipated. He cautiously approached the fallen crocodile.
I guess the poison finally took effect, he thought.
He reached the crocodile's still massive form, its chest rising and falling rhythmically. Its blue eyes were wide open.
Lizarius stood near the crocodile's head, gazing into its eyes. You surely are strong, and you gave me a hard time. But it's survival of the fittest.
He moved towards the crocodile's neck. Winner takes all it was a tough fight , he thought. But Now it's time to die.
Lizarius stood near the crocodile's neck, his yellow eyes glowed with menace. He opened his mouth, acidic saliva dripping from his fangs, and bit down with Force. The crocodile let out a low, gurgling roar, then ceased breathing. Its blue eyes slowly closed. The acidic saliva melted through the crocodile's scales, steam rising from the wound.
Lizarius tore off a chunk of flesh, blood spraying onto his face. He shook his head, clearing the blood from his eyes, and continued to devour the crocodile. His injuries slowly began to heal.
As he ate, Lizarius heard a noise. He stopped eating, turning towards the dense forest where the sound originated. Through the thick trees, he saw multiple glowing eyes, intently watching him.
Looks like the sound of our battle drew the attention of some unwanted guests, Lizarius thought, his mouth still smeared with blood. His yellow eyes glowed with predatory anticipation. I guess I have to properly welcome them.
