290. Thunder Fleet
Only five nautical miles from the World Tree sea area, as Raine contemplated charging into the territory of the World Tree, the system detected a battleship approaching from the side.
"Commander," Captain Bolton from the outermost ship reported, "that battleship seems to be flying a green flag; they may wish to negotiate with us."
Raine squinted slightly, what a coincidence. They were about to enter the domain of the World Tree, and they chose to halt his fleet at this moment, he wondered what their intentions were.
"Understood, allow them on your ship, I will join you shortly."
The pace of the Dad Fleet reduced, Raine emerged from the cabin, jumped across a few ships, and arrived on Bolton's ship.
What approached was a high-tech silver battleship. Judging from its weapon system, it was far superior to the Winged Dragon Fleet, especially the main cannon on the front deck, which, by its elongated barrel, was likely not a traditional cannon.
The opposing crew members used semaphores to request five people to board, and Raine agreed to their request.
At a distance of 2000 meters, from the opposing battleship, five figures leaped out, directly jumping 2000 hundred meters, and landed on the Gemini Aircraft Carrier one after another.
These five people, three men, and two women, the woman at the front didn't seem old but possessed a stunning appearance, her long hair slightly curled. As soon as they boarded, the woman's gaze fell on Raine.
"So you are Raine?" The woman looked at Raine with a haughty expression.
Raine frowned slightly, these people were so aggressive right from the start, they didn't seem like guests at all.
"That's me. Who are you, and what business do you have with me?"
The woman looked Raine up and down, and said emotionlessly, "Your body also is the child of the Poseidon."
Raine immediately became cautious of this woman.
She said, "also" the child of the Poseidon, in other words, her body might also be the child of the Poseidon!
"Don't worry, I have no intention of killing you. Consider yourselves lucky, we've received a commission to protect you," the woman said, a hint of contempt flashing in her eyes.
Were it not for the order from her father to protect these people, she would never stoop to this.
Those who lack power shouldn't venture into the sky-class sea area. They forced their way in and she would protect them, what a disgrace.
Raine looked surprised, "No way, don't tell me, you are... Dewey?"
A burly man behind the woman immediately shouted, "Is the name something you can utter? I don't mind telling you, this is Storm God's daughter, Lady Delia! To be under the protection of our Thunder Fleet, consider yourselves incredibly fortunate!"
Raine's guess was almost spot on, this woman indeed had connections to Storm God. However, the attitude of these people irritated Raine.
"Never mind, it seems you're quite busy. We'll take care of ourselves," Raine concluded.
Delia immediately furrowed her brows, appearing somewhat irate, "What? Do you look down upon us, thinking we can't protect you?"
"No, no, your Thunder fleet ranks third among the nine God Demon fleets. Its power is undoubtedly formidable. I simply prefer not to rely on others," Raine quickly assured, eager to send these people away.
Were it not for Archie's sake, he wouldn't have bothered with them at all.
"Moreover," he added, "you're here for the Sea God Fruit, aren't you? If I were to allow you to protect us, and we ended up seizing the fruit, wouldn't that be rather awkward?"
"Boy, our leader is being courteous. Don't push your luck!" warned a middle-aged man standing behind the woman.
"You think you can seize the Sea God Fruit? Perhaps you should examine your own capabilities first. Even we can't guarantee we'll be able to acquire it. You're like toads wishing to eat swan meat!"
Upon seeing her subordinate scold Raine, Delia made no move to intervene.
If this matter weren't assigned to her directly by her father, she'd have no qualms about leaving this insolent lad to his fate.
Delia snorted, "I don't mind telling you that your fleet's strength doesn't even rank at the lowest tier in the Sky-class sea area. Do you aim to claim the Sea God Fruit? What an ambitious."
Raine shook his head. Archie had meant well by introducing his friends to him, but Raine had no intention of seeking out the Storm God for protection.
In hindsight, Raine felt grateful for his initial decision. These people exuded an air of superiority as if his aspiration to the Sea God Fruit was merely an overambitious dream.
"Do you understand the strength of my team?" Raine retorted coolly. "If not, are you truly qualified to judge my fleet?"
A woman behind Delia scoffed and stomped on the deck of the Gemini Aircraft Carrier. "You create a few flashy warships and think yourself advanced? Don't be so naïve, boy. We offer our protection to you as a tremendous blessing, yet you're ungrateful. How would you describe this?"
Another man added promptly, "You're biting the hand that feeds you."
Bolton was starting to lose his patience. "Do you think too highly of yourselves? Our captain has made it clear that we don't need your protection!"
Delia narrowed her eyes at Bolton. "You're not entitled to speak here! Raine, if you believe you can seize the Sea God Fruit, then, by all means, try. However, let me make this clear. Since you insist on rejecting our offer, should we cross paths within the World Tree, we'll be foes, not friends."
Threat and murderous intent permeated Delia's gaze.
Raine merely smirked, walking over to stand beside Bolton. "Firstly, he's the captain of this ship, so he's entitled to speak."
Delia's eyes narrowed further.
"Secondly, the moment you displayed such arrogance, we became enemies. Young miss, inform your father that if your leadership continues, I won't rule out the possibility of obliterating the Thunder fleet one day. I've said my piece. You may leave now."
By the time Raine finished speaking, Delia's face had soured significantly.
The captain of the Thunder fleet being reprimanded by a nobody sent her into a fiery rage.
"Are you sure your pitiful fleet wants to antagonize us?" Delia roared.
"I've made myself perfectly clear." Raine said, "Also, remember the name of my fleet. This fleet might teach you a lesson in humility someday."
"My fleet is called Dad. If your father failed to educate you, I'll gladly take over!" Raine's face darkened.
A burly man on the opposing team couldn't take it anymore and was about to strike, but was held back by his comrade.
"Force King, we're in the World Tree sea area now. It's not convenient to fight here."
Just as the tension between the two parties escalated, the fleet, unnoticed, had arrived at their destination — the World Tree Sea Area.
